This is like Thorpe in ‘99, Phelps in ‘01 and Ledecky in ‘13. It’s just the start. She is about to put these records into places we didn’t think possible.
Finger crossed :)
Like Marchand in 2023
Totally agree... And she was born to race...
AND THIS IS LIKE LÉON MARCHAND (FRANCE) IN '23 WHO TOOK 1.3 SECONDS OFF PHELPS WORLD RECORD 400M I.M.
Incredible form and maturity for 16 year old. She makes it look easy swimming the most grueling race. Can't wait to enjoy her over the years. Just amazing!
💪
Her strength as a swimmer is remarkable. I wish her the best and hope she continues to succeed in this great sport.
💪
I've watched swimming for decades and seen all the greats.... but no exaggeration here, this young Phenom is gonna be the GOAT.
She's SMASHING records and WR records at 16 yrs old...😨🔥🔥🔥
Yeah, she's a once in a lifetime athlete and I'm so proud she's a Canadian. 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
💯
Hosszu Former WR in 4:26.36
Unreal how she has the energy and power to do the 400 IM in that time. I am burnt out just doing one 50m length of butterfly. Congrats to Summer.
🔥
First off nice camera work. Second her kick throughout her swim is phenomenal. Congratulations
Thank you!
Oh my goodness - she is phenomenal.
Great swimmer!
She kicked a** in that final!
Summer is a phenomenal swimmer! Another record, just marvelous! Well done lady!
💯
You know how insanely proud of you young lady your fellow Canadians are?
Between her and Leon Marshand we might get to see two of the best all-round swimmers do something crazy at the same time. The coolest thing about McIntosh is she can preform at the world stage with world record and near world record times in both the IMs and middle-distance freestyle. This is insane and the training required for this is grueling. In both men's and women's swimming combined you can count the number of swimmers who have had this much speed and versatility on one hand. I hope this kid achieves everything she sets out to do, and raises the bar as high as she can!
Two amazing talents, we are happy we get to witness it!
Amazing!
brilliant!
A very impressive swim especially in terms of stroke rate. Clearly room for improvement on the dive and backstroke breakouts, a 4:23 is very possible at worlds.
We hope so!
Her arm recovery in breaststroke was super fast.
@@MissKimRose getting into streamline as quick as possible!
> Clearly room for improvement on the dive and backstroke breakouts
Yeah and the fly turn was not impressive either.
Imagine to be this "rough" style wise and still break the WR - Jeezus.
The ESwim 10 & unders cheering 🥳
I can't believe she's only 16! What an amazing athlete. Congratulations to her on all the success. What an accomplishment. You are a great example for all the Canadian girls and young women out there (my own daughter included). Well done!
Absolutely!!
Awesome! She is flying over the water so to speak! Those international races: bring them on!
👏
Super 👍...no doubt more to come...you go girl 👏
I can only imagine the kick sets she does.
2000 kick most sessions
@@realalbertan but what sets?
Outstanding! Looks like she sprints the final 100m. Maintaining that level of effort intensity is remarkable
🔥
Specifically, even the second-placed swimmer swam a world-class time, but this world record is already superhuman.
It's almost extraterrestrial where she got her energy and oxygen from. If she overturn even this, then you can analyze a lot...
@@rgrg77 must have a ridiculously extreme ability to clear lactate and also tolerate it, coupled with insane training and drive
do you think it was a 6-beat kick or 8-beat?
What a powerful young woman. I am proud she is Canadian!
🇨🇦
Just amazing. Alba and Matilda Barnes from Queensland Australia are in admiration. The world needs to appreciate what it takes to swim this well. Summer is a worthy role model for all swimmers.
Sponsored by Funkita too 😊
i had the privilege to watch this race in person
Unbelievable race, hope she has more coming (and that you can watch them)!
Her 4:25 is only :12 secs behind Carson Foster's 1st in 400 IM, swum on 01.13.2024.
SO COOL!
👍
Her final 50free was faster than Michael Andrews’s on his 200IM…
@C?Yan Yea - I think my 50 Free would've been faster than Michael Andrew's 200IM freestyle. His stroke completely feel apart.
Extraordinary!!! 👏👏👏
👏
What….astounding!!!!
🙌
She has the world record and she still has little things to work on. She keeps this up she’ll be unstoppable tte next few years.
Good job summer
Fabulous swim!
👏
Summer is amazing !
Can’t argue with that!
When it comes to Swimming watch out Canada will be a power house not only in the Pool but two Surfers , Reppin Canada one that is just 15 years old. From Soccer to Basketball to Golf to Tennis , Canada is no longer just a Hockey Nation .
Excellent performance congratulations 👍
💪
Like watching Secretariat at the Belmont! Absolutely perfect form!
Great comparison! - John
Those splits!...mind officially blown.
💯
I can't wait the Olympics Games 2024. Canada should build a team behind this young girl like USA did with Micheal Phelps.
Oh lord
super star
⭐️
Judges be like "wtf is hapenning"😂
😂 I think they were!
FYI this is the same anmouncer as Worlds and Rio 2016 - Chris Hindmarch-Watson (day job is Director of Canadian Swim Coaches Association)
thank you!
The fans cheering her on! Amazing!
👏
You can really hear them during backstroke. I suspect many of those little ones were from her home club ESwim. My son trains with the mens 400 IM winner who's the same height as Summer.
My goodness!!!! A 4: 25 as a 16 year old! This young women is special.
💯
wow
Some helpful context ...
Old Record: 4'26"36
New Record: 4'25"87
Просто молодчинка
Greetings from Türkiye 🇹🇷👏👏
Greetings!
Wow. She is a special athlete.
👍
She did the last 100m in 60sec?! Insane
Amazing!
Not only that, she negative split it. Remarkable! Especially so considering she has no underwater kick out, particularly in the backstroke. We’re definitely watching a Star as it begins to rise.
@@mikespencer9913 pretty normal to neg split the last 100m
It's the Canadian maple syrup diet. Congrats Summer. Our kids need Heroes like you.
😂
I’m doing the 4 im lcm tmrw and I’m hoping to finish 😭
You can do it 💪- John
insane
Yea mind blowing - John
I am old enough and fat enough to remember 400m men all trying to break 4 minutes Freestyle, Larsen, Fashnach etc but to see a final 100m free swam like that after 300m was on another planet. Still trying to get over the fact that this is a young woman.
GODDAYUMMM
Damn ! only 16, her future is BRIGHT... only thing i'd suggest is Summer to work on her underwaters,
It's like comparing apples to apples. Summer McIntosh and some are not.
Amazing athlete
選手體力超好👍👍👍👍
💪
If she breaks world records at this age, then in the future, she will be able to surpass even Yulia Efimova and Katinka Hosszu in the number of gold medals at the World Championships in Swimming, and very many swimming representatives of the United States ! 🇺🇸6
I wonder if she can get the 200 Fly WR one day, which looks unbeatable at 2.01.81
We are curious too, rooting for her, but 2:01.81 is unbelievably fast
can't imagine her being able to focus on that swim, given her main events.
To those commenting on her turns and underwater work, remember this is a 400 IM. Not the event you want to be spending too much time underwater.
Very astutely said. Summer has her rhythm. She has developed it by swimming 'by herself' for eight years (with little age group competition). She has it DOWN. She likes the long butterfly turn glides. She likes coming to the surface to get her rhythm atop the water back quickly instead of spending oxygen beneath the surface. To each his and her way of maximization! Obviously, there's a ton of evidence here!
a lotof my friends went to this meet lol
First like
Good work, so fast!
Casually doing this after breaking the 400m freestyle world record 4 days earlier.
Wild!💯
manifique
Ça prend un g
she is going to go 4:20 within 2 years. You will see.
😮
she forgot to get tired
😂
She broke the fatigue barrier and outswam it all the way to the finish. 💪
Great swim. And propably WR. Perhaps someone tells me why it is not accept as WR. At least not yet. I just ask.
👏
Takes time to "ratify"
They have to submit the pool measurement, timing paperwork and the drug test results have to be sent in.
Every Breakfast 400 gr. Torpedo , right ?
is this swimming impossible?
🤷
look at her crawl technique. just after the turn she uses the staight arm technique. maybe it's for getting the maximum speed and after that she switches to the high elbow technique for keeping this speed. i don' think it was spontaneous. at this level many swimmers try to be creative.
That's an interesting observation...
I did the quater mile in 5MIN,15 secs, in 1960, with three months training, not much faster with all year round training and weights training.
Poor styles .
😂
I'm not an expert or anything but that was one of the most dominant performances I've seen in the water...
When did she start training in the US?
She went down there at some point during Covid-19
@@SocialKickSwim her big improvements started when she started training in the US.
Summer and her mother moved down to Sarasota in November of 2022.
She started last fall in Florida, after the 2022 worlds in august. She was already a phenom before.
@@SocialKickSwim, может ей лучше переехать тренироваться в Австралию ?
