- "The world of John and Yoko" was a fascinating documentary for which a BBC camera crew followed John and Yoko for five days at the start of the final month of the 1960's. The programme was broadcast as part of the "24 Hours" series and screened in colour on Monday 15th December 1969 (10:30pm-11:05pm). The first day's shooting (Tuesday 2nd December) co-incided with the Lennon's appointment with ATV who were filming John's section of their forthcoming "Man Of The Decade" programme, the BBC cameras filmed the ATV cameras filming John and Yoko. The following day (Wednesday 3rd December) the 24 Hours team had John and Yoko to themselves, they recorded them in bed, playing a Mellotron, watching Granada TV footage of the Beatles playing at the Cavern in 1962, in their Rolls-Royce travelling to London with assistant Anthony Fawcett, and various scenes at their Apple office including meetings, telephone conversations and the heated exchange with the New York Times journalist Gloria Emerson. On day 3 (Thursday) the cameras captured a remarkable and little known recording session at Abbey Road studio's; John, Yoko, Mal Evans, Anthony Fawcett, Geoff Emerick and several others participated in an exercise that was intended to form the basis of a fourth avant-garde album in the Lennon/Ono series, the first "item" committed to tape was a long section of group laughter overdubbed with percussion and chanting, item two involved participants queuing up to take turns in whispering something into the microphone. The recordings were never released. On day 4 (Friday), the BBC crew witnessed the re-make of the Lennon's experimental film Apotheosis in Lavenham, after which they recorded the couple at the Bull hotel in Long Melford. Filming was concluded at the hotel the following morning. As agreed in the contract for the programme, all of the footage - used or unused - was then handed over to John and Yoko to use as they saw fit, a wealth of which eventually turned up on the 1988 documovie "Imagine:John Lennon"
I absolutely love seeing John and Yoko together. The are the most amazing example of understanding and love. For those of you hating on Yoko, please stop. John absolutely loved/loves her. Infact he down right adored her. She made him the man he was. She gave him, what he always needed, and was searching for in life. Please respect her, for being hateful towards her, is indirectly being hateful to John. Hating on one another is no way to reach peace. Please respect all of your fellow humans.
John appears completely entranced watching the early Beatles film clip. It seems as though he is looking at Paul (to me at least) and he seems enthralled.

John's natural smile at 3:50 is beautiful. Sadly it wasn't seen much at that time.

idk, I love yoko. I have john and yoko tattooed on me. she was a strong woman whom john needed in his life. A true love story. I love her art and music as well.
'one of our greatest fears is one dying before the other, even 3 minutes' if only they knew what would lie ahead a little over 10 years later. Such and shame and a waste of life, poor Yoko :(. RIP John we love you, miss you and hope to see you again someday.

"Think of the world...children." Yoko mona lisa smiles as John ponders a moment then answers "Missing!" as Yoko giggles coyly then John does too as he explains; "See our children are missing." I love John but he knows that is a lie. Both he and Yoko ABANDONED their children to be together then they pretended that their children were being kept away by spurned spouses. We know Cynthia wanted to John to have a close relationship with Julian despite Yoko being around. I think Tony Cox wanted to protect Kyoko from a totally selfish Yoko hurting and breaking the child's heart again. Yoko went oh Dick Cavett claiming that she had to choose between her husband (John) and her child. We all know she chose John over Kyoko AGAIN! Who do these two think they are fooling? Only those with their heads in the sand or up their asses.

Life isnt about performances, to john his music was not about making a 'legacy'. So what if she didnt contribute to the 'chuck berry/lennon' appreance in a way that YOU yourself would have liked because frankily, john wouldnt give a shit what you think, he loved her for who she was, you never lived with her you have no idea what shes like. Im not a huge yoko fan but i dont know what she was like we only see what she was like in small clips.

Think about what you just said. Now realize that the way that SHE chose to present herself to the world (the times that we could see) was to make a complete and utter ass of herself. True, he may "have loved her for who she was", but that doesn't change the fact that you're expected to maintain a certain amount of decency when in public. Quite frankly, she hasn't a shred of common courtesy or decorum when it comes to the situations that actual matter in our perception of her.

I don't think Yoko would of been a bad looking woman if she would of tamed down those bushy eyebrows & hair. She needed a good haircut and a straightener. She would of looked really good wearing some liquid eyeliner too. There were beauty possibilities with her. I know it was annoying for John Lennon to be up her ass constantly, but Paul McCartney did the exact, same thing with Linda. Linda started to control Paul McCartney right away and had her father & brother get involved with managing his finances. She was smart cookie, like Yoko. Yoko was/is very greedy though when it came to John Lennon's ex-wife & son. It's all about controlling the $$$. While I have no doubt that Yoko and Linda adored their husbands, they adored the power & money just as much!
