Who else didn’t notice Abby’s right paw until they said it?
No clue their financial situation or the cost but I bet Abby would love some kind of simple prosthetic foot that should could at least touch to the ground. She deals with it well but does seem uncomfortable just standing.

Man, do we take the 'little things' for granted.
I was so excited about it, and that was right at the beginning of the video before we even knew why it was such a big deal! What an amazing young lady, and fantastic parents to understand that bringing a special needs dog into the house would help their precious little one. You know, she might be playing at being a vet now, but I would not be remotely surprised if one day she graduates vet school and starts at her first practice. If it were to happen, she'd be one of those vets who will go not just that extra step, but the extra mile or more to save/improve the life of a disabled animal. She's certainly a bright spark! What joy she must bring to her family 💖
Man, was I ever happy for her! Almost shed a tear of happiness for her when she shouted that out loud. What a precious little sweetheart.

I remember many years ago when I was riding in a car with a friend and we spotted a boy with CP walking. It wasn't easy for him. She said at least he can walk. That's so true we take things for granted.

I remember the video when she first started to walk unassisted. So heartwarming. My little brother also has cerebral palsy. The doctors said he would never walk but I tell you what- to this day I have never seen a more determined little boy to prove them doctors wrong. He kept getting up and taking one step and would fall down. But he would get back up immediately. I was only eight and he was three.. i called it frog dancing and would encourage him to keep going. I remember crying the happiest tears when he not only accomplished two steps at once but then he even gradually worked up to walking all on his own. She is going to be just fine. Growing up like this just makes you stronger and a more determined person so you can accomplish anything your mind gets set on. Just like my little brother. He's 38 now, a husband and father of his own little ones. Nothing has ever stopped him. This little girl is the absolute most adorable. Good luck in all you do sweetheart.

It would be a good children's book to introduce disability lessons to children and adults.
There's a short animation about similar story. (well not really but Maya's story reminded me of this) A family adopts a puppy who's missing one of his legs. Their young son immediately rejects the puppy because he doesn't want a disabled dog. We're led to believe that he's just ungrateful little brat but then we find out that the boy is also missing his leg and he's having trouble coping with his disability. Eventually the puppy motivates the little boy to start embracing his life again and they become best friends. I cried so much watching this short video> if you haven't watched it yet you should go watch it. It's beautiful.

I have a disability that affects my whole right side. Everything from my toes to my eyes are weaker. I was told I wouldn't walk, but I can! I'm so proud of her! Great job!

I thought about that too. Really going to be hard on her. Just hope that she doesn't go into serious depression issues. I'm sure they'll get her another dog. Won't be Abby, but will be one with it's own unique personality that she'll adore to.

I was born with Cerebral Palsy the doctor's said I was not going to live i proved them wrong . Then they said I was gonna be a vegetable and never walk proved them wrong again . And even though I do have a slight learning disability I am walking a living like a normal person anything is possible . Am so proud of this beautiful baby girl you got this mama 💖 👸🚶♀️

U don’t understand how it feels to have cp but yeah when I first started walking my family was so shocked cuz the dr says I shouldn’t be able to. Age 15 I learned how to ride a bike and tie my shoes with one hand. Now I’m trying to inspire my fiancé to keep practicing on walking, she currently use two canes to walk instead of a walker
It gets me as emotional as when we got my little sister her first pair glasses and she could actually see clearly

As a 31 year old with CP this made me so happy, when I was little our cat named jack got me to crawl by just staying out of my reach so I would go to him and he'd move. Animals are truly amazing! God bless that dog and little girl.

Maya you go girl! I DO know exactly how you feel cause I have CP too! I am now 61 yrs. old. I learned how to walk at about 4 yrs. old. I wore braces too. Take it from me. I done most everything anyone else has.Worked, been married, raised a family & even drove a car. I could also dance. So please keep doing what you're doing. Be fearless. Have fun while going through this journey in life.

Never was a dog guy, I had a car wreck, head injury and got severe drug resistant Epilpsy from my head injury, then my wife found a Labrador (not a service dog) in a shelter at the end of his stay, she saved him and he ended up saving me twice from drowning in the tub.. now I'm a dog guy!!!

I also agree because im 12 and have a sis who can't YET walk the reason y i said "YET" is because at my school the things we can't do, ends with the word "YET" =D im happy when i see people like this because i like to help people so maby when i grow up, i can help people who have CP Spina Bifida, and other things like autism and that cause my friend Eddie, has a brother with autism and idk what else he has but he is maby a little past13 i forgot how old they r because i have not seen them in a while but my sis also has Spina Bifida so i just wanna say God bless u and keep ur life going the way u want😄😄

When my great grandpa passed away a big golden lab just showed up at my Grandma's door and the rest was history . He would be always by her side and guarding the front door greeting the family .it's was almost like a soul transfer.he showed up shortly after his the funeral and no one came to claim him either .so in other words it's was a gift from God .

Anyone ever consider giving the dog a prosthetic paw? She looks like she's trying to put weight on her missing one.
TheOnlyTominator I think it might be just instinct... it’s the way dogs normally are and so it’s natural to try to use the paw. It’s a great idea to try one, but sometimes animals feel the clunky prosthetic is holding them back :)

I was just wondering the same thing. You could possibly 3D print a prototype prosthetic paw for Maya and take a plaster cast her right leg stump, then 3D scan the contours of the plaster socket. If they got in touch with a college that teaches prosthetic technicians, they may take on the project as a group training task for free.

Disease is a sinful thing, it wasn't the creation of God. God is simply using a bad thing from a broken world for good. Things will be renewed and a perfect world will be created, it just hasn't happened yet. God has a specific timing - I can't tell you why, but it's part of a bigger picture nobody can see, like unravelling the layers of a good story.
