We have enjoyed Whispering Canyon for at least the last 15+ years. Our three kids, now in their early 20s, still absolutely love it. Highest recommendation!
I loved this video! This might sound dramatic but there was something about the energy of this dining review that brought back the vintage Dis review feeling! Cannot wait for more dining reviews as well as the dis coverage of the 50th!
I have eaten only table service twice at WDW since 1977. One was Whispering Canyon for lunch on Disney while on the behind the Magic tour. A carnivore’s delight. Amazing.
I Always Watch Pete's, reviews! He says it like it is! With the Resort Rooms & The Dining places. I love "Wispering Canyon!! It's fun, and the food is Great!! 👍👍
We had the same reaction last summer! I ordered that skillet and was blown away with how good it was, and very reasonably priced for everyone. It became a favorite for sure! Also LOVE Geyser Point - bison burger is AMAZING. They have nice drinks also!
When we visited in March 2020 the steak at Whispering Canyon Cafe was the best bite of steak we had all week. For a regular old New York Strip it was melt-in-our mouths delicious. Perfectly grilled medium, seasoned simply and well. Perfect bite when combined with the mashed potatoes.
We stay here on every Disney trip. It’s great to see a dining review. We have eaten breakfast here many times, and it’s always been very good, but I’ve never tried the lunch. That may be in the agenda for our next trip.I agree that the tone is similar to fifty’s Prime Time.
Whispering canyon Cafe is one of the restaurants that my kids even little little when they were like six and seven they always loved going there even though there was no Disney characters there they loved it because of the fun playful act atmosphere there and like you guys just saw you get a ton of food and it's usually always good food but as a family we always love going there because of such the fun playful ness of the atmosphere there the people are so great thanks for going there again and reviewing the food and thanks for your time
I have always LOVED Whispering Canyon Cafe the 1st time I ate there back in the early 2000s. I always recommend the place. I feel for the food quality and price, you can’t BEAT IT!!!
We went to Whispering Canyon over spring break and after not being there for years I was blown away. It was the last meal of our trip and after days of amazing food both on and off property I was a little worried. It did not disappoint! Good stick to your ribs bbq!
Family and I ate there last august and I have to say, because of al the covid precautions (less crowd, no shouting and parading around), the quiet environment was WAYYYYY more enjoyable! Excellent food, we loved it.
I'm so happy you got to enjoy the quiet enviroment. We started visiting Disney during the recession. We stayed at this hotel 3 times before the crowds came back to Disney ,before prices went up. It was a special time to visit.
Congratulations Pete on being fully vaccinated and able to get out again!! It’s a great feeling to have that behind me and my husband as well. Love seeing you guys again doing the dining reviews!!
Went to Whispering Canyon about 11 years ago and loved it! It was so much fun, and I still remember loving my meatloaf dish. I’m not sure if it is even on the current menu. Great dining review! Good to see Pete.
It's the Impossible burger. You can also get it at Gasparilla @ Grand Floridian Resort for under $13. Had it yesterday. We stopped by Whispering Canyon first but when I saw the price...noped out
What a lovely surprise! So glad you're getting out and dining indoors ON YOUR OWN TERMS. I have the feeling that if you were seated too closely to another group of diners, you might have asked for a different table. It looked like, by the end, you were truly enjoying yourself. I'm glad the quality of the skillet remains high. Have a great day.
Enjoy the food and the atmosphere at WCC. And when you have a waiter/waitress who is into the fun of the place, you'll have more fun as well. I was made to ride a wooden horse around the restaurant when I asked for more to drink.
Invite Deni! Always a happy face. And Jackie if she can get there! And where’s Craig? I want to see all my friends.... edit note: and how could I forget Ryno? Honestly the nicest guy ever, ran into him at AK and he was super nice to talk to
Great to see Pete eating in doors! Despite all the rave reviews about this place, our family still has yet to eat there. Though at that price I think we will add it to the top of our list! Glad everyone enjoyed it!
Pete, I ate there in November. It was my first indoor dining in 8 months. I felt good too, because the restaurant opens to the lobby. I was lucky to sit in the furthest dining area which is that area that is in the back, kind of in the lobby. The food was yummy. Like you said, not the fanciest fare. But Delicious! Congratulations on making the leap to eating indoors once again. I live in Monmouth County, NJ and have not eaten indoors around here yet. I was just fully vaccinated so now it’s time to get back to some of our yummy spots in Red Bank and Asbury Park. Great review, all of you do such a great job.😎👍🏻
I'm still scared to do indoor dining in the Detroit area. People don't seem to take the same precautions you see in Disney. I noticed in the background of this video how factitious the staff was at cleaning surfaces. Is it because a fair wage isn't being paid in most states for the restaurant industry? A yr ago when Michigan first opened up ,the first(and only) restaurant I went into had food stuck to the menu.
Whispering canyon has definitely become my favorite restaurant on property. The next time I'm at WDW, I may skip the parks entirely, and on the two night stay will definitely go here.
I love this and I'm glad you started to do them again. My only thing is I will never understand getting a Burger and plain Disney fries when every one of their skillets is amazing. If you are a vegetarian or a vegan, get that skillet. It's the best 1 in my opinion anyway
The vegan skillet option is awesome for sure for people who don’t eat meat or dairy! I ordered the vegan burger because I didn’t want an entire skillet to myself because they already got the other skillet! Hope that makes more sense:)
We actually enjoyed whispering canyons bison burger better. The white cheddar and Aioli was fantastic. Was cooked perfectly but Geyser Point does have those fantastic views...
I would have liked to have had a review of every desert available on the menu, but all the same Whispering Canyon Cafe is a wonderful experience. We have eaten there, and relative to some of the other places, price-wise, it is better, for eating on property. Had you eaten all of the deserts, it would have increased the bill I suppose.
I know they are totally different so I'm not looking for a direct comparison but if someone has never dined at wilderness lodge and wanted to enjoy enjoy a meal with their wife and 7 month old son would you recommend going to whispering canyon or geyser point?
Thank you for the response - I meant which would you recommend. Again I know one is sit down and the other is quick service but sometimes people have amazing things to say about the quick service so I thought I'd ask. I appreciate the help!
@@lpbigD4444 Disney is so great at accommodating kids, same answer. We have visited through the years at least 25times.....all ages because of this . Disney does their best to accommodate. It's all up to your child. Naps are good....
What did Andrew eat?? I'm confused on the 2 burger reviews. In the video it appears that the 2 plates are sitting in front of them untouched. How did they do review without eating the food?? Thanks
Fiasco, we tried Dicks last resort in Orlando in 2015, I loved the premise of the place, I think it was in the process of shutting down and unfortunately, I think the the staff had lost interest. The food and even the banter was very disappointing. But I can see if it was done well, it would be my kinda place.
We couldn't really take advantage of the "all you care to enjoy" deal. It looks like you get alot of food in one skillet. We would be stuffed after eating that whole thing! Unless 2 people can share one skillet, "all you care to enjoy" is not that great of a deal. Plus we have 3 picky kids. They would all have to order something different.
Hey Corey, sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but the Dick's in Boston closed last summer. Guessing it was a victim of nobody really going to Faneuil Hall for close to a year because of the lockdowns.
@@user-hl9ww3ml2m I think their rules still say “gotta be masked unless actively eating/ drinking”. Makes me wonder if people have to look like they are constantly chewing and must re-mask between bites-ha ha jk
Yes they changed the policy from, when sat down you can remove mask to, wear mask at all time unless eating or drinking. I'm not bothered just wondering if it was ever really enforced.
Sorry to keep it real but the menu is extremely limited for lunch (compared to dinner). This isn’t mentioned. The lunch skillet is $24. The dinner is $34. That is a value! The recent dining reviews or best of restaurant reviews rarely if ever mention how limited dining is right now. Disney has been doing a poor job with availability of food around the parks. They could/should be doing better with it by now!
1:00 One minute into the blog and what does Pete do??? Makes it all about him. Because HE is the only one affected by the pandemic and how brave of HIM to eat in a restaurant for the first time in almost a year. Thanks for being such an example of courage! Give it up, Pete. There is a great big beautiful world out there that does not revolve around you and hang on every word you say. Again, so tiresome.

My guess is that it is enforced, just not when people are sitting down at an indoor restaurant
