- This began a year ago and turned out as one of my most favourite Will It Starts !
This old loading shovel was parked up 18 years ago and just left to nature.
Is it seized ? Is the engine damaged ? Find out as we cut our way closer to it !

ua-cam.com/video/v5euD56O-9M/v-deo.htmlsi=VhFM9Vw975d9KpxD
So many of these will it starts on UA-cam but only one channel that blows the rest out of the water ! Brilliant stuff Mucker !👏👏👏👏
Glad you enjoyed it
Agreed
Agreed 👍
He's even big in Algeria.. 👍
Agreed also.
your heating oil comment made me smile, i can still remember being in my teens on the farm and my grandad showing me just how much paraffin to put in to give the old crawler some pep
Just a few more hours of mucking about and it will be back in service. Stay on it, don’t let it win.
Will it move, will it lift, will it be useful for something!!!!!! It feels like the video is only 1/2 done,
It would be really cool to see her driving under her own power again great video again
I would love to see this machine driving around . I am seventy now and I love to see old plant working . I am afraid it is down to lads like you that keep old plant from going to the scrap man . [ Thank you ] . Please keep the videos coming Mucka .
I could not believe my eyes when I saw this picture, I recognised it straight away. I worked on a farm nr Marlborough in Wiltshire, I used one of these on our silage clamp with a Track Marshall 90 crawler. We used it for all our mucking out and spreading on ours and three other farms owned by Mereacre Ltd. The biggest loader i had ever driven before was a MF 165 with front loader, so this was a vast improvement. I get so much pleasure watching your videos so it's a definite vote for me to see it working again. Keep up the good work.
Continue with this one as you gone so far .I like your straight talking taking no stupid comments.
There’s only one channel for will it starts. Well done mucka what an old girl just wanted to go. Those old Perkins are great. I’m all for getting old girl moving but I’m always happy with what ever you do it’s entertaining and full of knowledge great job as always
One of the best power units of all time, hp range is unreal 💪
As part of my job I visited F E Whetherals in Welling Garden City regularly 50 years ago. It was a family run business and I remember the pride and loyalty which all the staff and family had for their products and their Company.
Stick with it and get the old girl moving. happy easter
Happy Easter
Bloody marvellous ! Nice work Mucker !
I think it should be a. Will it load again ! Get her moving hydraulics functioning and then load some material with it 😂😂😂
Get it moving and replace the hose to blow the rest of the hoses 😂😂 great video
Well, just found your channel. Kudo’s to camera person for not filming like he/she has just tripped and is rolling down a hill! Great job. As for what next, jeez get this beauty moving and doing what it was built for. Regards John
Another excellent “Will It Start” Mucker. Those Weatherall Loading Shovels were one hell of a piece of equipment in their time, I think the old girl is worthy of more time and worth trying to get her moving under her own steam again when time permits. I’ll echo everyone else’s comments on your style and explanations on Will It Starts, nobody else comes remotely close to the way you do these. Do well mate and thanks again 👍🏼
Peg has the cold north. Mat has the magic touch...Lord Muck gets the thorns...
Moving and functioning would be nice to see. Thank you for the content Lord Muck.
Mike in Az
Yes return and see if you can get it moving again 👍
6354, solid engine there!
Great job. I'd say let's see it lifting grain again. Do the old girl justice.
Great video, great job! Would be interesting to see if it would move!
It deserves a little run around the field get it moving please
Don't stop
Now
!!!
Will it move. Getting it running is only half a video. Especially since you went to all that work to cut your way into it. Thanks for sharing your videos with us.
Happy Easter M'lod! Finally another hedgerow will it start👌 even started without a birdsnest!
Definitely a will it move for me!
Cheers, Mike
I would love to see the smile on your face when driving 😂
if you got it running , youve got to get it driving, I ,ve got loads of old trucks going over the years Scammells , AEC etc and thje highlight is always driving them out of the hedge
That's the thing, once they're running I'm done.
The last few days though have been interesting 😉
Totally get it moving! It'd be great to see it drive out of there.
Id love to see if itll move fix up the blown hose and go from there
Definitely will it move next.......can't wait....
Great job Kurt and F******* Hilarious, especially the takedown of the Ether Experts😹 Had to look up where Weatherill were in WGC (Worked there til retirement) They were in Tewin Road which had 2 great proper Breakfast Caffs. Thanks for the Video and Laughs.
It's worth a go at getting her moving. As an agricultural apprentice of the 60's & early 70's these were the mainstay of many a coal yard. Well done.
Will it move, oh yes why not !, keep up the great content on this bad boy
I think it would be good to see it drive out of its grave.
Maybe abit of loader work even if it’s just moving some dirt about.
Definitely get it moving AND fit new hoses. Want to see it working again. Good vid well done. 👍
I would love to see you get the loader working and moving. I also agree with not throwing expensive filters and such, without knowing if it would run. Old saying, if it isnt broke, dont fix. Great job. Looking forward to your next video.
yes will it move 👍😊😊😊😊😊
Happy Easter, Muckers 👍 🚜
Hi from across the pond. I'm not a regular chatter box. I do like your videos and I'm not a safety sally. But for your sake please use a face shield or safty glasses. After all your eyes can't be replaced. Take care.
I had my safety/reading glasses on most of the time which are safety rated 👌🏼
Love these old machines getting brought back to life. I would certainly enjoy seeing it moving about here and there, also getting it to work with lifting a load would be nice.
Great video and excellent explanation on what you were doing. 👍
Great video mate
I recon fix hose/s and get it moving and operational
Look forward to to seeing that happen
Cheers from Australia
Heck yeah get it moving on it's own steam
I want to see it moving
Aww man, you and Diesel Creek make my day.
Yea go for it. It was made to work so it would be good to see it doing so again.
Will it move for sure
Great vid mucker. Will it move 100%.
The Commer RG11 trucks that we used here in NZ, from the 1970’s used the 6.354 turbo - they went well as milk tanker tractor units - gross weight about 18 tonnes - a bit more go than the TK Bedfords also used.
Would Like to See a "Will it Move?", Well Done!
will it move would be great 👍
Such a good speech about the faffing namby bamby cotton wool culture i grew up in the 80s when we just did stuff when you could play conkers without face guard i live in norfolk and its commonsense first safety second as you say ,you look at each situation ,i love the fact you feel passonate about it cause it gets my back up too just slows things down and clogs things up , anyway im one of them thats along for the ride ,keep those vids rolling
Beautiful doggy... ❤
Gotta get it moving, years ago farmers and hauliers used to mix a small amount of heating oil with the diesel to help machines start in the winter months. 👍
Let's see if it will move
Get it to move
Fantastic! Best vid for ages, thanks for that Kurt. Please return to this in the next video as it's a fantastic bit of kit and I feel sure you'll get it moving under it's own steam.
Weatherill L62 spent a good few hours on one of them in the late 70’s
Hi , I get the impression you are not the man to leave job without a final answer, so I would suggest to try and get it to move. ( just imagine rhubarb without custard 🙃) all the best 👍🐝😊🐣
Will it move? Let’s find out.
had an old weatherhill on the farm about 40+yrs ago,she was used for everything, dam good loader.
Keep going with this , good to see it moving
Yep, will it move
Bloody hell I used drive one of these at the coal yard in Salhouse I loved but you have to keep an eye on the king pins in the back wheels they had a tendency to jump out and the wheel would fall off
Is that what it was ? I can remember that old thing !
@@LordMuck i loved it cos it was nice and simple to use only had two levers on to raise and lower and one to crowd and tip the bucket no clutch just sit with your foot on the brake put it in gear take your foot off and away you went I think the king pin problems were due to running it on the concrete of the old airfield flat out with the bucket full of coal she did used to bounce around 😂
I think you need to find out if it moves or not. If you can get it moving and the transmission seems acceptable, then you can reassess. Obviously, she's pretty far gone other than the engine. Even if she runs and moves fine, you're going to have some pretty significant money in hoses and tires just to get her workable, and even then the interior is completely trashed.
She's never going to be a daily operated unit again, but may have some value to someone who only needs a loader like that on occasion.
Good job, good luck, and please invest in a face shield if you have a go with brambles like that again! Happy one of those didn't end up in an eye.
I wore my glasses which are safety rated most of the time, as far as the rest goes, its comes with the territory.
get it moving matt will be proud
before glow plugs and pre heaters either was the only way to get a thousand cubes and 200 hp started on crap fuel
Exactly
get it out of there and use it again
Done my apprenticeship at Weatherills in Welwyn Garden City 1977-1981 the factory shut in 1980 but i got moved to a service depot to finish the last few months of my time off, great factory, great people who worked there, be great to see it going again, please dont hesitate to contact me for pictures and a dvd i have on the firm
Please would you drop me a message on Facebook or Instagram ?
@@LordMuck yes will do but am in the US untill the weekend, plenty of old machines here to look at
Yes mucker, from the starting point to the progress you've made it would be great to see its first breath of life.
Great video. Nice to see the old engines fire up. Enjoyed watching. 👍🏼👍🏼
get it moving Matt from diesel creek would have it working
No he'd just go buy more Shyte from Richie Bros
Brilliantly done mucker would love to see that loader move 👍😉
...wow, that was amazing to see it start! ...look forward to a 'will it move' ...cheers...
Move it 👍
Gotta to get it moving mucka
Please please do more on the weatherall. Would live to see it live and the hydraulics working etc. Awesome channel as always mucker, do well
I love when all the people think it’s going to kill an engine. I have been around diesel pulling vehicles for the last 30 years. They have to use 2 or 3 cans of either to startup one of the Super Stock Pulling Tractors warm enough to run on diesel fuel alone. Can you cause damage by being stupid, probably, if it’s equipped with working glow plugs, maybe. Appreciate your videos and logical commentary. Thanks from Michigan.
Will it move
Yes defo get her moving and lifting
Soon you said it was a 6-354 engine and not seized I knew it would start.
Yank engine out put in irrigation pump we run 4 of them engines often running 24/7 for 8 weeks. Absolute gem of a long lasting engine often trouble free.
Our oldest is 48 year old now and god knows the hours it runs the main underground irrigation system and was built into a shed and never moved it’s outlast more pump units than I can remember.
Love your channel and now your my first patron I pay for.
Excellent video, and nice to see you saving an old machine. I think it will be good to see it moving .
Will it move video?
Yes please
Brilliant video Mucker, good detail on the mechanical stuff. Definitely got to see if you can get it moving and then budget depending do hydraulic hoses? Thanks for the great content 👍🏻
Definitely got to get it moving and front bucket working mucker.yet another great will it start, keep em coming 😊
Gotta be will it move 100%
Excellent, great to see the effort thats required to even get close to "lifting the bonnet".
Deffo be great to see it move and turn a wheel again 👍
Now I love all of the ‘will it starts’, it would be nice to see this 53 odd yr old come back to a gentle service too though. 👍👍👍🇬🇧
Will it load?
Definitely a "will it move" please. I reckon it's going to cost a fair few hoses though!
Enjoyed that one kurt . Very versatile engine , lorrys, buses, tractors combines ,etc. Old mf 500 combine at the place i was was a 6.534😊
Get her going, not point half arsing it, wouldn’t be doing it or you justice for the effort to get to her.
As long as the engine runs its job done - gas axe and engine shipped out to West Africa 😎
You never gave us that option, the express strip down… fairly be a comment generator for sure.
Try and get it moving
Good video. Thank you. Be nice to see it moving under power, if just for a few metres.
Great job Mucker. It would be great to see it move and hydraulic working. Keep up the good work
Well done Kurt. Great video & great job. 👌 Looks like you could've done with a gasmask! My vote is to get her moving & lifting. 💦 😂
Absolutely brilliant mucker as always great content and video I would love to see her/him moving under its own power and being used for what it was built for than it just being a bit of farm art. Do well mucker see you in the next video ❤
Top work Kurt, gotta love those Perkins lumps. One of Peterborough's most successful designs.
Will it move please LM
Get up n driving
Excellent stuff as usual. Thanks. Top shelf 👌
That bought back memories to hear that engine running again. Yes please would love to see it working.
