GangstarapMadeMeDoIt fax I was about to say the same exact thing. It’s actually really pathetic that nick Mira was bitching about it on Twitter. Like it’s popular cuz u stole his song lmao
The way you broke down the theory in this video is incredibly helpful to beginners. When I was a new producer, this was how I wanted people to explain the theory to me. For example, nobody on YT broke down why a certain note out of scale or not apart of the chord can work. Nobody broke down that an arpeggio containing notes to a chord is still a chord. Nobody explained transition notes. Nobody explained why the bass line worked. And when you ask these questions as a beginner, everybody thinks you are stupid. I’ve got 4 years under my belt but had I seen videos like this when I just started out, it would of sped up my learning curve tremendously. These are the videos producers need to watch and understand. When you break down the little things and explain the “why,” that’s how you learn. Great video!
you are exactly what i’ve been needing! a fun engaging teacher who can fill in the gaps i missed by not learning piano when i was younger! so thank you so much :)
I think that would not be as cool as other songs, because it is just 2 chords, in an omnisphere arpeggio type preset, with some pitch slides, not a real pattern
Hey man, would it be possible to get some advice from you on choosing instruments to layer your melodies with? Sometimes I'm creating a melody but then have trouble choosing other instruments that fit/work underneath. Thanks for all your help 🙏
Very awesome video, you learn alot about the producers intentions on creating a dope track as well, and you pick up some good tips, maybe do a video on how the rappers come up with their melodies and how they compliment the track so well
Great video Simon. It's been a few years since I studied theory in university and I enjoy watching these and pausing it (you go breakneck speed bruh) and figuring stuff out with you like a test lol. It's great to have someone like you break it down in a language I understand. I couldn't do these because I don't have a great ear for reproducing beats like you do, so thank you so much for putting so much love and effort into these videos. This has to be my favorite video so far :) I think you should do Leave Me Alone - Flipp Dinero and Black Beatles - Rae Sremmurd in the next video
yet another super helpful video!! you earned a new sub man. never heard anyone talk about the syncopation notes but they've really helped me alot in my own beats
Man i've discovered your channel 3 days ago and i'm in love!! I've just started to learn fl studio to try to have fun in the music world and damn your channel is lit helps a lot!! Love ya man😍
Simon can you make like a Q&A i'd like to actually know who you are, how you came up? how did you get into producing specifically, not any other branch of being a musician, thngs like that.
that was dope!!!! I took the chords and made my own song!!! thanks to you...I used a technique in Fl studio it was easy. Just load it and turn a knob! keep em coming!
It's just practice. At the beginning I had very bad chord progressoins and melodies. But when you know how chords work with melodies together, you can do very emotional beats. (Btw if you work witz FL, you have scales for the Piano Roll. Just use the Minor Harmonic for kinda spooky or Minor Natural scale for emotional melodies and chord progressions)
It's called intervals man. That's the key. You go up 2 major 3rds, with a minor 3rd in between the first and the second major third and that's how you build a major chord. And for minor chords you just repeat the same process but you substitute the 2 major 3rds with 2 minor 3rds and substitute the one minor 3rd with one major 3rd. That's how you get your chords. And just in case your confused on what a major 3rd and a minor 3rd is, they're both a series of half steps. Four for a major third and three for a minor third.
Hey man just started watching you and you are really talented!! I can’t believe your not bigger man. An idea I had for you would be maybe react to artists albums and to give us your opinion on the instrumentals and beat choices and what you like about them and what you would change up. It would be interesting to get an opinion from someone who knows what their talking about like yourself. I know your not a reaction channel nor am I trying to turn you into one because I enjoy your content as is but it would be cool getting your first reaction on these already famous artists and producers. My first suggestion if you haven’t heard it (or even if you have) would be metro boomins Not All Heros Wear Capes as he is a producer as yourself and since the focus of the album is more on the beats you can give some good feedback. Whether it’s good or bad. Just an idea and it would be interesting to watch man. Keep up the great work and Goodluck man! You earned a new sub today✊🏼
Sting bout to take 85% of the ad revenue
LOLOLOL
lajiao im dead lmao
hahaha exactly
It's not even funny cuz 80% of the money for a sample is not uncommon especially if it isn't cleared. They can only blame themselves.
