Yeah, same! I really dislike their self-centered view. Raven is a bit like that, especially when her pet peeves (heels with an ankle strap lol). You know, Raven always boots those looks because she can't pull those looks off. Raven also had Raja to balance off of, who didn't reinforce her as a yes woman. I feel like Gottmik is a really sweet person but Violet is such a shady queen, it's not hard to be ghosted by her. Also, I really enjoy Yuhua's design knowledge and her fashion history/references. It is so refreshing than Violet trashing on aesthetics when Violet clearly doesn't sew nor appreciate other flavors of fashion than just her own tea.

I couldn't get through those episodes either it was so bad! It made me uncomfortable honestly, Mik was so much better with Raja, she has her own opinions when she's paired with someone who sees fashion through a wider lens.

Shea’s look was gorgeous! The dress she wore was Valentino haute couture fall/winter19 w/the prosthetic ears- the Valentino team loaned her the dress & worked with her to showcase as the 1st drag queen to model designer haute couture on RDR!

The SUPERIOR drag race fashion review
This is why I love our Bootleg queens. Not being from the US myself, I had no idea as to what the significance of Timberland boots are. So I was only judging Monet's look from a visual standpoint, which is that it doesn't go too well with the colors and textures of the jacket; and with the elaborate hair, the jewels in the hair and the chains the look was too busy
But when Yuhua and Rock mentioned how the boots are significant to making the outfit make sense, I had to Google for it myself, and girl did my jaw drop, and I had to think more.
I love an opportunity to be educated about other cultures, and our Haus of Dry girls gave us that, which no other review did. So kudos to Yuhua and Rock for another thoughtful review. Y'all do amazing work here

Only thing I'd ask from Raja's look is for her to open the coat to reveal what the inside looks; otherwise I love itttttt esp as she did Marie Antoinette with itsy bitsy pieces and smaller hair on s3. Very very good contrast.
I love Jinkx's look a lot, but my god look at her face, her hair, her headpiece, absolutely STUNNING. I'd absolutely watch a historical video featuring her and Raja lol
I loved Shea's look too especially when she turned around, my godddd the back of her coat/cape thing looked so BEAUTIFUL.

I think with Trinity’s, If the lighter purple under dress had been plain and sleek, the cage would have worked better. All the vertical lines of sequins and dropping fringe made it feel too busy for my taste. It also looked like one of the hip cages was…dented slightly?
Edit - totally agree with Jaida’s. If the ‘cage on skin’ had continued down for the whole skirt I think it would have been amazing. Pretty sure they were iris flowers

love the executive realness from god-empress yuhua, and miss sakura's hair is on point. the incisiveness of the haus of dry is just *mwah*. speaking of which....
the first three looks on that runway are absolutely stunning, and i find they tell such an incredible story. raja evokes louis xiv in a way that's more sophisticated than the sun king himself, the way she refers to his style without emphasizing its most distinctive element: louis xiv was real proud of his dancing skills, so a lot of his full body portraits emphasized his legs to the point that they seemed like they were painted from much younger models. the sun king was vain to the point of camp, and here the most camp element of raja's look is her identity as a drag queen. then in comes jinkx, whose look at first seems like another sophisticated reference to the same historical personality -- the construction, the embroidery, the sun-like crown -- until she shows her one leg, vis-a-vis madame jolie. raja is haute couture; jinkx, haute camp. incredible. but then in comes monet's look, which at first i honestly didn't like, nor even get, but, through you two, i started to get the references, to hone in on the details, and in comes the epiphany. raja's look outdoes historical royalty. jinkx's look is the epitome of "classic" drag. and monet's look fully deconstructs the two, making bare the heart behind drag and camp by highlighting trans representation and black excellence. just....incredible.
also the way y'all describe jaida's look -- i love the look too, the "incompleteness" sounds intentional with jaida's situation, like maybe it'll get more complete over time. and shea -- shea -- god, shea, embodying an entire continent like that -- god! every look on this runway really has to tell a story, but i don't wanna make it into the cringe sub writing a bootleg book in the comments, soooo
Jaida is an iris! They are purple and yellow flowers with long thin leaves and stems like corset boning. Poor girl is struggling from the dolls not knowing their botany 😂
