I'm really loving Rock's makeup evolution, that outfit, that hair, and the subtly dyed finger tips, everything absolutely stunning!!! And Rock had me cracking up the whole time, she's so funny!
I haven't watched a full season in years; this has been so enjoyable to watch. No meanness; no bitchiness; just lots of fun! Love it. The cut throat nature of the past seasons have been a bit of a drag. And Raja was ROBBED!

I concur with it all... Removing the fear of early out embarrassment has been game changing. This points system is great, and it works well because the cast is the right size. This wouldn't work with 15 dolls, but wow is it perfect with 8.
Also, while I agree that Trinity was funny, I do agree that Raja was #2; Trinity sort of played two versions of Trinity imo. Her devil was just her camped up a bit farther, and her Leslie was just her a bit shorter. She got some good laughs in, but it lacked range. Her runway wasn't anything special, and I didn't get puffer jacket at all. I legiterally thought it was a thong body suit. It had no bottom. Which is fine, but just I thought Raja's runway was also better.
Raja's madame was great and a work of art, but girl. That Diana Vreeland was fucking ART. she looked just like the bitch! The shit she said was so, so Diana Vreeland. It was so funny and crazy and surreal in just the way that Vreeland is as an older woman. Her runway look kind of lacked a solid theme for me, but I preferred it to Trinity's just in the amount of detail and work that it looked like.
Jinkx was an obvious winner of the snatch game, but I do agree that Raja should have been the second slot instead of Trinity.
@A C nah. It can be fun sometimes, too. We wouldn't always want it this way for sure, it's just nice since it's so many of our favorites we already love and want to see working together. A regular season with people we didn't already root for would never work this way.
The editing is very different too. They have actually tried to portray the queens in a good light and celebrate their artistry. In a normal season they mess around and create stories that never really happened (like putting in 'mistake' takes that went wrong for certain people but using the 'best' takes for others). I hope they realise that the viewers are reacting positively to it. 🖤
Raja should have lipsynched with Jinxx. It would have been intense.
Now i know, that john waters mustache got lost on Raja in episode 3, but i love how Rock pays homage to it here with her makeup. A true queen and sister!

Rock M. READ Yevie Down Violet style!! But she can because I think Rock M. has A lot of Knowledge of Anime so it works. Also, love that Boot Leg Always has critiques but also solutions on how a look can be improved and draws in ideas from different sources.

I'm living for Rock's Little Twin Stars diorama fantasy on her wig 😍💖 I totally agree about Trinity's look, I really wanted to like it bc I loved the colors and the puffer jacket reference, but the proportions were so off!! I’m really enjoying this season so far. At first I wasn’t sure how entertaining it would be without any of the drama, or the negative critiques, but it’s awesome. It’s actually pretty cool how the judges are basically just giving positive feedback. I feel like there’s going to be some kind of twist though, because drag race loves drama, and a good twist. I’m just glad that this season is on Paramount +, so that I can actually watch it. Unpopular opinion, but I really only liked the Vivienne’s, Jinx, and Jada’s looks this episode. Idk. You both look freakin gorgeous though, and I always know it’s going to be a great bootleg when rock is on 👌🏻🖤

I understand that Trinity's Satan was funny but the character is not very specific. Any of the queens could've have presented the character in their own way. Whereas Raja's is very character defined down to gestures and nuisances. I guess Trinity won because the presentation was, aside from being funny, is much more noticeable.
Once you got past the "The devil is gay!!!" part, there wasn't much else to her. Looking back too, I don't remember Jinkx's Natasha Lyonne much at all. Raja deserved to be in that top 2.

Actually, in an interview Jinkx said that look was based on a look Adele wore on SNL, but with a red top instead of the black that Adele wore. She just happened to have it with her and decided to break it out for this lip sync. It was meant to be! (The interview is on Entertainment Weekly.)
