Astro Bot at 1.5 mil is good, but I certainly hope it continues to sell a lot. Hoping Christmas sales boost it to at least 3 mil, really want more of Astro Bot and Sony isn't exactly kind to games that don't sell exorbitant amounts.

Installing the optional drive was super easy. I just wish they had offered a bundle with the drive for an extra $50 (which is the price differential on the slim model).
This machine is amazing and really enjoying it. NX Gamer made a good point on his analysis about the current performance of the machine being bound by API and software limitations from devs and not the hardware itself. The hardware is more than capable of hitting its target frame rates but developers will have to program it accordingly and spend time doing so. A lot of what you are seeing with fps instability is due to game engine limitations based on original design of the game when it was created. I’m not going to say well “ DF said this or that so PlayStation Pro sucks and can’t run games at 60fps” haters will always try to find the negatives in anything they don’t agree with. I look at the positives and understand it’s not a high end PC. It’s not supposed to be that. This machine was built to give “ PS console players” The best experience and they accomplished that 100 percent and will only get better over the coming year. If you want the absolute best experience and money is no object then build a PC and be happy spending twice as much to get that experience. Sony priced it to make the margins they want to justify bringing this console to market when they didn’t have to. No amount of hating on the price or saying it’s not worth it is going to magically make them go oh we should make this console 499 and give the disc drive for free. You can forget about cheap consoles being a thing just like PC GPUs being cheap and providing better performance than current gen consoles. Be happy with your choice and let other people enjoy the choice they made too. I’m just happy we got options to get what we want to play games we love and enjoy
Yeah they should have a dedicated team that goes back to old ps4 games and enhance them, have them run at 1440p 120fps or 4k 60fps. Black ops 3 runs at 900p on Xbox Series X which make it look bad on 4k tv. Xbox use to do FPS boost for old titles and it worked really well so Sony could do the same thing but instead actually improve image quality as a option. So yeah both Sony and Microsoft need to get these old games looking better. Microsoft owns call of duty now so hopefully that means something. All the old call of dutys were ported on Xbox One before Xbox One X came out so they all run at 720p which is sad because if it happened a few years later then they would have been 4k just like how all OG Xbox games run at 4K. It's a mess.
@@o_KingOfKings_onot really a HDMI limitation assuming you have an hdmi 2.1 cable and capable tv. Issue is more so that ps4 games don’t natively support 120hz so it would take more effort to make it work especially since the full range of ps5’s gpu isn’t available for ps4 and ps4 pro enhanced games so it’d likely not work well. But never say never I guess.

This just means PS users might get OD as well if Kojima wants his games accessible to everyone. Really depends on what OD is though. It's apparently highly reliant on cloud-technology, maybe there's only a certain hardware configuration that could accomplish that experience.
The system is actually doing its job, i received mines on the 6th, did a little unboxing etc video. When i plugged it because i got it a day early the pro enhanced games weren’t available yet. But me trying just for fun silent hill 2 and outlast trials. Even without the pro enhancement yet, the games truly somehow looked clearer and more detailed . It’s almost like i put on better glasses lol. I kept trying to make sure i wasn’t just trying to convince myself, but it truly does look better, even the Home Screen somehow looks better lol. As of the 7th release day of the patches I’ve only tried re village and it does look better. I also have a lg g4 tv. And The weird thing when i streamed on UA-cam, even without me saying anything my subscribers somehow noticed the differences too, even with the compressed UA-cam video quality. I didn’t think it would look different for UA-cam but yet somehow it does. So so far I’m not regretting my purchase thank god 😩
Seeing a difference even with UA-cam compression and non-enhanced games? I don’t know about that. I mean when sailors were out at sea they were convinced they saw mermaids when they actually saw manatees. The mind can play tricks if you believe something hard enough. And if I spent $700+ on a console I’d want to believe it too.
PS5 Pro is readily available in my area but the disc drive isn't. I'm good Sony. I'll wait until you have enough common sense to put the disc drive in the box...
They want to frustrate us physical disc owners with the scalpers s as to systematically pressurize us into buying into digital. I'll wait till 2030 if I have to before getting the pro. I'm not spending a penny on disc drive that's not msrp.
Here's my testing with my PS5 Pro so far 1. Final fantasy rebirth. PSSR is a huge upgrade for this title. You finally get playable frame rates in near 4k fidelity. This is the only viable way to play this title 2. Spiderman Miles Morales. PSSR upgrades the performance mode where you also get a near 4k resolution while getting performance mode playable frames. Hard for me to tell that game was upscaled. Best of both worlds with the ps5 pro. Ray tracing also still looks great. 3. Monster Hunter World. Resolution does not get upgraded since it is not a PSSR title BUT the 30 fps fidelity mode is more stable and I didnt experience frame rate drops like I did with the PS5 base. I turned on frame generation on my Sony Bravia TV (Sony MotionFlow). And it now plays like a dream in the resolution (fidelity) mode since you get stable frames in the best resolution Final Verdict: PS5 Pro is a huge upgrade for me. I DO NOT want to go back to PS5 base. If I had to do it again, Id buy the PS5 Pro and sell my PS5 base. Sony TV's MotionFlow plus PS5 Pro is a big brain combination
Yeah, lets all go now buy expensive TV's too so that this overly expensive console is worth it. Maybe I just buy PC for cheaper price instead since only reason to even had consoles were cheaper price and DISC DRIVE. I will use consoles only for retro gaming.
PSSR on Stellar Blade delivers such a stable, clean image that I prefer it to the native 4k mode. I never played FF7 Rebirth on the base model, but my son tells me the image quality on the Pro is far superior. To me, the image looks great and the framerate is solid. The other, non-PSSR modes don't fare as well. To me, PSSR is the headline feature. It really does deliver a nicer image than other solutions.
@@TKIvanovI turned MF off completely for everything. I hate the smoothing effect, it makes things look like cheap soap operas even when watching a big blockbuster film. Since it is off never even thought how it would affect games. From my experience not everyone see the smoothing, just like not everyone notices the difference between 30 and 60 fps. So to each their own.
So the disc drive in the US is 80$, but in my EU country 150$ in stores. Great, just great. People in the US don’t even know how good they have it, UK included. Germana also tends to be more pricey than the UK. For the rest I can’t say

unless you have a good 4k tv or monitor there really isn’t much reason to get it considering your not gonna be getting the resolution bump the console offers. also the only game that i noticed performance problems on the ps5 was ff7 rebirth and even then 60 fps performance mode is fine.

Most people dont have millions laying around, and most people dont have disposable income to blow on a kickstarter that may never deliver. Im all for “auteur” video games though since they can usually get big financing without interference in the creative side of things.
Similar in the UK, they are £160+ on eBay instead of £99. However I have a big backlog of games, including some digital titles, so I’m just going to wait a month or two, stock should reappear.

I bought my disc drive from Walmart, the day after i pre ordered it. The only thing that worries me about this situation, is they sold us the dual sense edge with the promise of being able to swap thumb stick modules, but they NEVER have thumb stick modules in stock. I hope this disc drive doesn't end up being the same way. I literally bought a n additional dual sense edge because the thumb stick modules were selling for insane prices, when you could even find one

The Bulders Gate 3 take that Digital foundry had was before the patch was released. The update just dropped yesterday late afternoon. The game does run at 4k 60 for the most part.
I tried playing a few games on the PS5 Pro and didn't feel much of a difference from the original PS5, so I sold it again. I think the PS5 is a really well-made console.
I live in the UK and trying to get a disc drive is a nightmare atm. Most of my games are on disc and scalpers have just taken all the stock. I will hold out till one is available but scalpers are genuinely the worst kind of people 😑.
I have been playing around with the Pro for a day now, installed the drive, stand, got all my PS4/PS5 games loaded and tested, and I absolutely love the Pro, and the added storage. Money is no object and for me, I say money well spent as I am a console only gamer and needed to replace my launch digital PS5 as back in 2020 could not find a disc PS5, and it allows me to retire my PS4 Pro since many of my PS4 games are physical. It probably is not needed for all gamers but I am fine with it.
Correction they play baldur gate 3 before the patch because they tested these games before the 7 and baldur patch was made available on the 7 of November
Is simple if you own oled 4K 120hz hgig vrr tv get the ps5 pro you going to see better sharper image with the range +48fps so vrr make images smoother, if you playing monitor oh cheap tv without 4K vrr hgig don’t get the pro you don’t going to see difference between the pro and normal ps5

I picked up my PS5 Pro yesterday and honestly I cannot tell much of a difference. I can say Elden Ring does run way better though. I went ahead and ordered Sony’s M9 INZONE 4K HDR monitor with VRR support so hopefully that really helps cause my current monitor lacks 4K and VRR
it feels like graphics these days have a lot of diminishing returns as far as raw quality. You may not notice a big difference unless you're looking at the Pro and regular side by side. The benefit of the pro will be PSSR and higher frame rates in uncapped games. And VRR if your TV supports it
No 4k no 💩 you can’t see , I’m playing ER with graphics mode on my lg oled c1 hgig vrr ext… is so much better and sharper on native 4K mode , and vrr make the image 100% better smooth everything
I picked up a pro. I love it, Stellar Blade, FF7R, and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor all look like practically new games. Plus I just heard that RE4 runs at near 120 fps (hovers around 110) without ray tracing about 80 fps with. Granted I traded in my base PS5 to cut down the cost and my TV size and distance from where I sit are perfect to notice the difference and I'm a bit of a Tech Goblin. So I understand that not everyone fits that profile. What I don't understand is the hate. If you don't want it, don't buy it. But watch your wallet not mine. Also I think every Playstation fan should cheer on the 20% of Playstation owners that will buy this thing. The more Devs have a chance to play around with PSSR the more likely it'll be that we get PSSR 2.0 in the PS6 and everyone benefits.
I picked mine up yesterday. Overall I’m happy with it but I was hoping for a bit more. I’m not underwhelmed but definitely not overwhelmed. I tested a few games on my 65” Samsung w/ VRR 120hz etc etc about 11’ away. 7 Days to Die was my non upgraded game Litmus Test. On PS5 it would drop well below the 48fps VRR in cities. On PS5 Pro it’s definitely better but far from cured. I have a lot more confidence fighting hordes of zombies in the cities now with not as much fear frame dips will get me killed. That said it’s still not smooth in those areas. Horizon and The Last of Us were my upgraded game test. Annnndddd I guess they look better?…. I mean they were already best in class so it’s hard to notice an upgrade to fidelity to be honest. Finally no man’s sky. On PS5 with frame rate unlocked it would bounce around 40-60 fps. On PS5 Pro it’s locked 60 and looks “cleaner”. I’m probably the most happy with NMS. Overall I would say, if you have the disposable income go for it. However if the price is a point of contention with you just know you’re not missing out on a lot, at least not yet. Regardless complaining about the price of a luxury item no one needs speaks more to your character than the product. A lot of things in this world I can’t afford or don’t see the value in, complaining about it just makes me sound like I’m being defensive of my (low) financial standing.

I got my pro and I’m mixed feelings so far. Not sure which settings to set in games and performance has been almost exactly the same as my launch ps5. Packaging felt cheap not worth the price. Will need to see the future but sloppy release overall imo
Bloodborne has a lot of chromatic aberration but still looks great in upscale surprisingly but it seems it does have the potential to have an even better ai upscaler even on a 2d image i hope eventually it gets access to vectors for a true pssr ability on ps4 games
You say that it isn't a problem in North America to find the drive. It is sold out as of right now in Canada. The GameStop I ordered my PS5 Pro from had 16 pre-orders to fill and they only had 4 disc drives and of course they were sold out. I wasn't able to get there before they opened, sadly.

Even though black myth wukong doesn't have a enhanced patch it doesn't much different, but plays much better i was getting a lot of stutters on the ps5 slim, but been playing it a lot on the pro and not had one stutter, and it's running nearer 60fps on performance, hopefully it'll get a official enhanced patch
I put about 20hrs into the original Death Stranding, as a lover of the MGS series I found DS to be interesting, but it never clicked for me, I felt my self trying to like it more than I did but in the end I just realized it’s not for me 🤷🏾♂️

I'm not sure if i would call elden ring unoptimized - quality mode is a flat 4k output without any drs or reconstruction techniques. Most other games this gen do not do that.
Disappointed with the Death Stranding move. Sony made a statement in August or September about how they're lacking in "original ips" and then turn around and sell their most unique ip, all while their 1st party is heavily dropping the ball this gen in original ip, and on top of that now a Decima Engine game is on a competitor platform, so does this mean more Decima Engine games might see their way over there now.
Decima is still a property of Sony though, why would this indicate more Decima titles would go to Xbox? The deal with Kojima is a highly unique one. As said in the video, it seems Sony didn't own the Death Stranding IP for some years now, going back as far as the first DS2 teaser trailer. Decima is still proprietary tech, it's not like UE or Unity that's accessible to everyone.
Regarding themes: well why don’t they just do it like on PS4 then where you had your theme while browsing games and when you push down you get the image and music for the game?
For me the 2TB will be mostly used for game capture rather than games, on my ps4 pro I only had maybe 6 games installed at once, on my ps5 even less, lmao

In EU disc drivers situation is like in france since the ps5 pro was announced all the scalpers took them. Hopefully i felt the shit before and was able to get one at that time but otherwise since the'you can find disc driver only on ebay between 200€-300€ so more in $$$

Upgraded to a 4K OLED tv and PS5 Pro and I’m enjoying it! Currently playing through Horizon Remastered and plan on diving back into Ghost of Tsushima!

The hardware is more than capable of hitting its target frame rates but developers will have to program it accordingly and spend time doing so. A lot of what you are seeing with fps instability is due to game engine limitations based on original design of the game when it was created. I’m not going to say well “ DF said this or that so PlayStation Pro sucks and can’t run games at 60fps” haters will always try to find the negatives in anything they don’t agree with. I look at the positives and understand it’s not a high end PC. It’s not supposed to be that. This machine was built to give “ PS console players”
The best experience and they accomplished that 100 percent and will only get better over the coming year. If you want the absolute best experience and money is no object then build a PC and be happy spending twice as much to get that experience.
Sony priced it to make the margins they want to justify bringing this console to market when they didn’t have to. No amount of hating on the price or saying it’s not worth it is going to magically make them go oh we should make this console 499 and give the disc drive for free. You can forget about cheap consoles being a thing just like PC GPUs being cheap and providing better performance than current gen consoles.
Be happy with your choice and let other people enjoy the choice they made too. I’m just happy we got options to get what we want to play games we love and enjoy

Yeah they should have a dedicated team that goes back to old ps4 games and enhance them, have them run at 1440p 120fps or 4k 60fps.
Black ops 3 runs at 900p on Xbox Series X which make it look bad on 4k tv.
Xbox use to do FPS boost for old titles and it worked really well so Sony could do the same thing but instead actually improve image quality as a option.
So yeah both Sony and Microsoft need to get these old games looking better. Microsoft owns call of duty now so hopefully that means something. All the old call of dutys were ported on Xbox One before Xbox One X came out so they all run at 720p which is sad because if it happened a few years later then they would have been 4k just like how all OG Xbox games run at 4K. It's a mess.

@@o_KingOfKings_onot really a HDMI limitation assuming you have an hdmi 2.1 cable and capable tv. Issue is more so that ps4 games don’t natively support 120hz so it would take more effort to make it work especially since the full range of ps5’s gpu isn’t available for ps4 and ps4 pro enhanced games so it’d likely not work well. But never say never I guess.

This just means PS users might get OD as well if Kojima wants his games accessible to everyone. Really depends on what OD is though. It's apparently highly reliant on cloud-technology, maybe there's only a certain hardware configuration that could accomplish that experience.

The system is actually doing its job, i received mines on the 6th, did a little unboxing etc video. When i plugged it because i got it a day early the pro enhanced games weren’t available yet. But me trying just for fun silent hill 2 and outlast trials. Even without the pro enhancement yet, the games truly somehow looked clearer and more detailed . It’s almost like i put on better glasses lol. I kept trying to make sure i wasn’t just trying to convince myself, but it truly does look better, even the Home Screen somehow looks better lol. As of the 7th release day of the patches I’ve only tried re village and it does look better. I also have a lg g4 tv. And
The weird thing when i streamed on UA-cam, even without me saying anything my subscribers somehow noticed the differences too, even with the compressed UA-cam video quality. I didn’t think it would look different for UA-cam but yet somehow it does. So so far I’m not regretting my purchase thank god 😩

Here's my testing with my PS5 Pro so far
1. Final fantasy rebirth. PSSR is a huge upgrade for this title. You finally get playable frame rates in near 4k fidelity. This is the only viable way to play this title
2. Spiderman Miles Morales. PSSR upgrades the performance mode where you also get a near 4k resolution while getting performance mode playable frames. Hard for me to tell that game was upscaled. Best of both worlds with the ps5 pro. Ray tracing also still looks great.
3. Monster Hunter World. Resolution does not get upgraded since it is not a PSSR title BUT the 30 fps fidelity mode is more stable and I didnt experience frame rate drops like I did with the PS5 base.
I turned on frame generation on my Sony Bravia TV (Sony MotionFlow). And it now plays like a dream in the resolution (fidelity) mode since you get stable frames in the best resolution
Final Verdict: PS5 Pro is a huge upgrade for me. I DO NOT want to go back to PS5 base. If I had to do it again, Id buy the PS5 Pro and sell my PS5 base. Sony TV's MotionFlow plus PS5 Pro is a big brain combination
MotionFlow is not something you wanna use while gaming.

PSSR on Stellar Blade delivers such a stable, clean image that I prefer it to the native 4k mode. I never played FF7 Rebirth on the base model, but my son tells me the image quality on the Pro is far superior. To me, the image looks great and the framerate is solid. The other, non-PSSR modes don't fare as well. To me, PSSR is the headline feature. It really does deliver a nicer image than other solutions.
@@TKIvanovI turned MF off completely for everything. I hate the smoothing effect, it makes things look like cheap soap operas even when watching a big blockbuster film. Since it is off never even thought how it would affect games. From my experience not everyone see the smoothing, just like not everyone notices the difference between 30 and 60 fps. So to each their own.
So the disc drive in the US is 80$, but in my EU country 150$ in stores. Great, just great. People in the US don’t even know how good they have it, UK included. Germana also tends to be more pricey than the UK. For the rest I can’t say

If you really want Quality Mode at 60fps, go for the Pro. If you're ok with Quality Mode at 30fps, stick with the normal standard ps5.
unless you have a good 4k tv or monitor there really isn’t much reason to get it considering your not gonna be getting the resolution bump the console offers. also the only game that i noticed performance problems on the ps5 was ff7 rebirth and even then 60 fps performance mode is fine.

Preordered a PS5 Pro on day one, but haven't been able to find a single disc drive in stock. Even today, no store in Poland or Germany sells them.
Similar in the UK, they are £160+ on eBay instead of £99. However I have a big backlog of games, including some digital titles, so I’m just going to wait a month or two, stock should reappear.

The only thing that worries me about this situation, is they sold us the dual sense edge with the promise of being able to swap thumb stick modules, but they NEVER have thumb stick modules in stock. I hope this disc drive doesn't end up being the same way. I literally bought a n additional dual sense edge because the thumb stick modules were selling for insane prices, when you could even find one

The Bulders Gate 3 take that Digital foundry had was before the patch was released. The update just dropped yesterday late afternoon. The game does run at 4k 60 for the most part.
I tried playing a few games on the PS5 Pro and didn't feel much of a difference from the original PS5, so I sold it again. I think the PS5 is a really well-made console.

I live in the UK and trying to get a disc drive is a nightmare atm. Most of my games are on disc and scalpers have just taken all the stock. I will hold out till one is available but scalpers are genuinely the worst kind of people 😑.
I have been playing around with the Pro for a day now, installed the drive, stand, got all my PS4/PS5 games loaded and tested, and I absolutely love the Pro, and the added storage. Money is no object and for me, I say money well spent as I am a console only gamer and needed to replace my launch digital PS5 as back in 2020 could not find a disc PS5, and it allows me to retire my PS4 Pro since many of my PS4 games are physical. It probably is not needed for all gamers but I am fine with it.

it feels like graphics these days have a lot of diminishing returns as far as raw quality. You may not notice a big difference unless you're looking at the Pro and regular side by side. The benefit of the pro will be PSSR and higher frame rates in uncapped games. And VRR if your TV supports it

I picked up a pro. I love it, Stellar Blade, FF7R, and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor all look like practically new games. Plus I just heard that RE4 runs at near 120 fps (hovers around 110) without ray tracing about 80 fps with. Granted I traded in my base PS5 to cut down the cost and my TV size and distance from where I sit are perfect to notice the difference and I'm a bit of a Tech Goblin. So I understand that not everyone fits that profile. What I don't understand is the hate. If you don't want it, don't buy it. But watch your wallet not mine. Also I think every Playstation fan should cheer on the 20% of Playstation owners that will buy this thing. The more Devs have a chance to play around with PSSR the more likely it'll be that we get PSSR 2.0 in the PS6 and everyone benefits.
PSSR on Stellar Blade and FF7 Rebirth looks great. Without PSSR, they look like video games. With it, they look more natural, especially in motion.
I picked mine up yesterday. Overall I’m happy with it but I was hoping for a bit more. I’m not underwhelmed but definitely not overwhelmed.
I tested a few games on my 65” Samsung w/ VRR 120hz etc etc about 11’ away.
7 Days to Die was my non upgraded game Litmus Test. On PS5 it would drop well below the 48fps VRR in cities. On PS5 Pro it’s definitely better but far from cured. I have a lot more confidence fighting hordes of zombies in the cities now with not as much fear frame dips will get me killed. That said it’s still not smooth in those areas.
Horizon and The Last of Us were my upgraded game test. Annnndddd I guess they look better?…. I mean they were already best in class so it’s hard to notice an upgrade to fidelity to be honest.
Finally no man’s sky. On PS5 with frame rate unlocked it would bounce around 40-60 fps. On PS5 Pro it’s locked 60 and looks “cleaner”. I’m probably the most happy with NMS.
Overall I would say, if you have the disposable income go for it. However if the price is a point of contention with you just know you’re not missing out on a lot, at least not yet. Regardless complaining about the price of a luxury item no one needs speaks more to your character than the product. A lot of things in this world I can’t afford or don’t see the value in, complaining about it just makes me sound like I’m being defensive of my (low) financial standing.

You say that it isn't a problem in North America to find the drive. It is sold out as of right now in Canada. The GameStop I ordered my PS5 Pro from had 16 pre-orders to fill and they only had 4 disc drives and of course they were sold out. I wasn't able to get there before they opened, sadly.

Even though black myth wukong doesn't have a enhanced patch it doesn't much different, but plays much better i was getting a lot of stutters on the ps5 slim, but been playing it a lot on the pro and not had one stutter, and it's running nearer 60fps on performance, hopefully it'll get a official enhanced patch

I'm not sure if i would call elden ring unoptimized - quality mode is a flat 4k output without any drs or reconstruction techniques. Most other games this gen do not do that.

Disappointed with the Death Stranding move. Sony made a statement in August or September about how they're lacking in "original ips" and then turn around and sell their most unique ip, all while their 1st party is heavily dropping the ball this gen in original ip, and on top of that now a Decima Engine game is on a competitor platform, so does this mean more Decima Engine games might see their way over there now.

Decima is still a property of Sony though, why would this indicate more Decima titles would go to Xbox? The deal with Kojima is a highly unique one. As said in the video, it seems Sony didn't own the Death Stranding IP for some years now, going back as far as the first DS2 teaser trailer. Decima is still proprietary tech, it's not like UE or Unity that's accessible to everyone.

In EU disc drivers situation is like in france since the ps5 pro was announced all the scalpers took them. Hopefully i felt the shit before and was able to get one at that time but otherwise since the'you can find disc driver only on ebay between 200€-300€ so more in $$$
