This was an incredible video! You listed several of my favorite graphic novels (esp. love Fables & Paper Girls). My recommendations for graphic novels for prose readers would be Tynion's "Something Is Killing The Children" (one of the closest experiences I've had to reading King's IT), Matt Kind't "Mind MGMT" (a great graphic novel for fans of PK Dick) & Richard Sala's "The Chuckling Whatsit" (a mashup of pulp crime & horror). Have you by chance read "Die" by Gillen? I've read the first 2 volumes & am very much enjoying it. Intrigued to see where it's going.
I haven't read DIE but it's absolutely on my radar! Same with Something Is Killing The Children, I should get around to those soon. My local shop has the deluxe HC of SIKTC, do you know if it has the same issues Once & Future did, since they're both Boom? The others you mentioned I hadn't even heard of, but I'll look into them, thanks for the rec!
Rachel Rising got me into graphic novels. Then scalped, and Ed Brubaker stuff like fatale and criminal and incognito and kill or be killed. This list will turn any pro readers into comic fans for life
What a great video, I love this! I'm definitely the target audience as I've only read a few graphic novels/trades (apologies, I don't know the exact terminology). I started to read Saga, I'd definitely recommend that, I really enjoyed what I read.
The terms aren't really important, and largely interchangeable. Trades in particular is basically like the difference between hardcovers and paperbacks. Maybe I'll do a brief video talking about the different formats. I've never read Saga, but I've heard a lot of good. If you liked that, you should definitely check out Paper Girls, they're both written by Brian K. Vaughn!
So i said screw my watch later list and decided to watch your video now!! 🤣 Oh my my there are many good ones here and i now need to add more books to my ever growing books to read. I read Paper Girls cause STRANGER THINGS!!!!!
This is such a helpful video, I know nothing about comics but can definitely see myself trying some of the ones you mentioned.

Can't say I've ever heard of Rachel Rising, I'll look into. I just read Ed Brubaker's Houses of the Unholy, great stuff!

@@reedmorebooks the one about fables piqued my interest, that sounded right up my street.
@@DisquietandDragons-lh3zm I'm confident you'll like it! By turns fun, mysterious, tense, cozy, horrific, even tear jerking.....soooo good!
