“Do you like the paperwork?” “Not really, but it needs to be done.” The way he takes the less pleasurable parts of his job in stride is honestly enviable. Here’s hoping he’s still doing good out there.
What a great guy. Clearly, he is quite intelligent and hard working. And, I agree that he is an inspiration to families with children of special needs who come into the hospital. Good for everyone that this man has a decent job.
Over 30 years ago now, near our family home was a superstore and there was a young woman there with Down’s who was actually the shop-floor supervisor who was in charge of about 12 cashier tills. She was the one who allocated the staffs to each tills, instructing those to close tills or open, depending on the traffic of customers etc. Always friendly but busy, and she was loved by both staff and customers. I’ve always said if people were as kind and loving as those with Down’s syndrome this world would be an absolutely wonderful place
So beautiful im crying...I am a mother to a child with downs next week will be 4 yrs since he's been gone ,thank you all who give our children a chance it means alot ❤️❤️❤️❤️
This just goes to show that people with any disability whether it be a physical disability like myself or an intellectual disability are valuable assets in any job. I've worked with people with downs syndrome and let me tell you they always no matter what have positive attitudes day in and day out
Good. I love to see people with disabilities doing such great work and being acknowledged for their character and ability, not defined by their situation.
You are my inspiration!! I have an older brother who my parents adopted even though he had fetal alcohol syndrome. My parents have done everything they can for all 9 of us but he still struggles. Now that were all grown he's still trying find his way and this story will lift his spirits, and my entire family. Your awesome so thank you ❤💙💛💚💜🖤
As a mother to a baby girl with Down Syndrome who has had quite a few challenges medically my own anxiety and uncertainty of her future, this really really made my day. Nathan you're amazing! God bless you and I hope your life is always filled with joy!!
Back when I was once working as a volunteer retail worker, one of my coworkers had special needs. But he was the best worker in the store in my opinion. When I mentioned this to one of the staff she told me that he couldn’t get a job because as soon as he goes to the interview and they take one look at him they immediately decide not to pick him. Having down syndrome doesn’t make you stupid. It just means your brain works differently. This guy has an actual job too. Its not simple mindless work that a lot of other people with down syndrome have. He does paperwork and everything. Thats awesome!
Not gonna lie, I was expecting him to only be a "morale" employee, there to escort patients inside and make their day easier because of his personality, you know, the usual things you'd expect from a Down's syndrome person. But no, they have him doing some of the business/office/paperwork part of the job too. That's awesome!
Down syndrome people can do anything in life, I just now watched a video about Down syndrome inclusion, or rather disability inclusion. Even autistic people are working at hospitals nowadays. ❤❤❤
I wish my younger brother could be this functional. He can't even speak right, has to have help with so much, and he screams when he doesn't get his way. He's 29 years old. My parents did everything for him. I don't understand what went wrong in his life to make him so delayed! I guess some down syndrome individuals just don't come out right! Because this person who works in the hospital WITH DOWN SYNDROME, truly is a miracle!! I've never seen anything like it. I've seen a Down Syndrome individual who can ride a four wheeler. Who can sing, who you can understand, and who truly touched my heart! But my younger brother, he can't even speak right. You know he got years of Speech Therapy, and other therapies. He can walk just fine. He can sure scream when he's mad. He can throw things. He can try to hit people. But can he put something on TV he wants? No. All he can do is scream and throw things if he doesn't get what he wants on the TV put on. He listens to songs like "The Wheels On The Bus." He's so delayed! As for the miracle who works in the hospital with Down Syndrome! YOU ARE TRULY AN ANGEL!!! You've touched my heart! You've brought tears to my eyes!
let me tell you Iam also a person with special needs and I WORKED at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia for 30 years aka hospital known as C.H.O.P. and it was a wonderful expepirence I WAS BLESSED
It may seem “scary” but I think society should allow more people with disabilities to study the disabilities they might have. We’d probably get some real progress and answers as to why certain conditions are worse or more fatal than others. I feel like it’s only the “norms” of society who would be afraid. I could imagine people with disabilities would want to be seen in certain work forces. Society treats anyone who isn’t “normal” as a total outcast & im sure it sucks
I dont think he is a model for being inspirational, i think its mostly cuz he is a good worker. We need more hard workers like him in this detiriorating world
And theres people out there with no barriers to life orher than the ones they create for themselves, never worked a day in their life with no intentions of doing so. No excuses. Good on you my guy.

He’s got work stress, relationship stress, parents on his back to get a full time job. Sounds just like the rest of us! You’re an inspiration!
Kek 💀
im late to the story but he really is an inspiration. i have an high functioning autistic brother and it gives me hope for the future !
And he has such a good attitude about it all!! Probably such a sweetheart!!

So glad this is a good story! I was afraid it was going to be another one knocking someone down. GREAT uplifting story!
I’m so proud of people like him. They are admirable
People with down syndrome are actually the happiest creatures in the world and I am so jealous
He’s so sweet
Well done Nathan. You are awesome 😎

An absolute asset to that hospital.
I work with a girl who has down syndrome, she works in the bistro on mondays, she's awesome and I'm always so happy to get along with anyone like that
Thanku management for hiring him. He deserves that position. Every management should give opportunities like this 😊
Imagine you go to a hospital and THIS guy greets you
I'm very happy they hired Nathan. They aren't discremating.
Now I really feel like a deadbeat for being unemployed.
six years later, and I hope the young man is doing well.
I have learning disability but is so inspired me
What a shining beacon this guy is!
man this is heartwarming
He’s a winner! He wasn’t going to take an ‘L’ 🎉
Love it.
I KNEW people with Down syndrome are mentally just as capable as people without it
And I always have a positive attitude. ❤
Go Nathan, you’re awesome, happy wedding, you’re better than any super hero!
You are amazing! God bless you! 🙏
This is a guy that I would like to hang out with. Unlike most of my friends, he has his shit together.
So proud of him
What an angel
ADORABLE!!! What an awesome, funny, and handsome young man! Way to go!
I dont think he is a model for being inspirational, i think its mostly cuz he is a good worker. We need more hard workers like him in this detiriorating world
If he has a job why can't others get a job
Keep smashing it Nathan.
lol he delivers paperwork and coffee.
Most people can't even get what he has
So do tons of neurotypical office workers
This proves disabled people are capable for doing their jobs than people without disabilities.
Brilliant!!You go Nathan!
Bloody legend, go Nathan, I too have a disability and have long wanted to be in workforce here in Australia.
He’s smart, well educated and cool. He’s got downsyndron just like I have ADD and I don’t see nothing about me that’s better than him!
He seems so sweet :)
I hope my country one day become like yours, in my country people with Down syndrome are not allowed to study in a regular school nor even working😢😢😢
Tre Kamal what country? That’s awful!
That's very sad to hear. Everybody should at least get a chance to try if they want it. :(
People with DS are people too they deserve to work and I he pop the question soon great video
And theres people out there with no barriers to life orher than the ones they create for themselves, never worked a day in their life with no intentions of doing so. No excuses. Good on you my guy.
He's a very positive guy , good thing
god bless this man you are a true hero
Great guy
Thank you
Legend well done bro huge respect
Gotta stop calling it Down syndrome cos every one I’ve met with it has been so damn happy and uplifting.
open your minds these people are amazing
Awesome
Young man
Nate's parents reaction of "Thank God you finally got a full time job!" Same as any parents reaction 😂
Four years later, how’s Nate doing? Where’s he at today?
He is not dumb!
way to go Nathan keep going well i wish u much sucess
I have a co-worker I’d like trade for Nathan. 🙏🏾
Her parents are like when s the wedding?😂😂😂😂😂 I love it
I know he’s sneaking grilled cheese sandwiches
The best part was he quote at the end, her parents "when is the wedding"
Holy crap, it’s scary I know exactly where they are in the hospital. This is the hospital which is the reason I didn’t die 6 years ago
I want to know a update! He’s a super star!
Succeeding in this life followed by a free ticket to heaven without any judgement.
This is awesome!
So glad for him!!
Awesome ❤
