What order do you recommend watching your LANCER videos in for someone new to LANCER? The playlist seems a little jumbled around and I'm wondering where to start. Thanks!
So when first making the LANCER videos I didn't really have an order in mind. I was more just talking about the subjects that interested me in the setting. Due to this it's ended up jumbled. Intro to - is more an onboarding quick run throw of cool stuff and that you're playing as lancers. Setting Basics - More a junk drawer of things within the settings (locations, classifications, tech, and such) Manufacturers - GMS, SSC, IPS-N, Horus covers the faction in lore, location, and briefly going over their mechs (not number crunchy, more theme) Union history videos - currently only the fall of humanity then Union First Comm up at the moment. Covers the early timeline. LANCER Factions - has brief run throughs of some of the galactic stage and what's happening in the modern setting kick off. Hope this helps.
As the game is a ttrpg, you can homebrew those in, though a note about aliens: Humanity has encountered one race: the hycerians. And Humanity really, and I mean really ISNT proud of what happened. Seccom (the power before union) were anthrochauvnists (which, at first blush seems like a prideful "Humanity first!" Ideology, until you dig deep and realize it's basically the Austrian German failed painter man's racial theory, the sort where a person with the slightest negligible difference in anatomy is marked as 'subhuman') and so seccom tried to wipe out this race, in spite of them being entirely open to diplomacy and posing literally no threat as they weren’t even interstellar. This is partly why union created the 'NHP' marker, as it stands for "none human person', basically acknowledging that, while the individual isn't human, they'll still hold all the same rights of one within union.
I feel like the Aunic civil war/invasion in the Boundary Garden and the Karrakin-Harrison pissing contest in the Dawnline Shore could probably be videos of their own. Those seem like the two biggest problems facing Union in the core books.

The Aunics were a faction that started as one of The Ten. Ten space colonies, shipped off to a "Gaia Class Planet." when Earth was about to nuke itself to the stone age. 900 years they spent on that ship, and the desire to see their promised land grew into a religion. Unfortunately thanks to innovations in tech and Union being able to plot star courses better than when The Aunic ship first launched, when the Aunics finally did get to their planet, it was already colonized by union, lol. They Hated Union ever since, even though the Aunics got to keep their promised Planet.
Can someone help me please? I forgot the name of the lancer group that is basically the blue angels only for Mechs and works for 3rd comm. One of my players wants to have a back story involved with them. Neither of us can remember their name!
Ok so, wack fucking theory, Horus is Ra’s brother and they were both born from the same error, Horus just made itself known later and doesn’t actually fuck with reality. Second wack theory, Horus and Ra are going to fight at some point and it’ll fuck EVERYTHING up Edit: Should clarify, Horus doesn’t fuck with reality to the same extent as Ra
Horus TOTALLY fucks with reality. They've Made Meta Vaults and have Paracausal tech in almost EVERY Frame they've made, See The Pegasus or The Lich for good examples of such unruly behavior.
Uh, there's 2 technically speaking. The First and probably most Prominent would be NHP's. Despite Being Digital beings, they're all capable of displaying godlike power when they don't see themselves as human anymore. Second, We had The Egregorians... Unfortunately, Thanks to Seccom being "Anthrochauvinist" (A Fascist Political faction meaning "Humanity First") The Egregorians are All But/ Are Extinct. Lot of people homebrew that Egregorians made it after the tragedy of their homeworld tho.
I should also Mention that Egregorians are psychic bugs, with a Ant hive mentality, they all serve a boss bug, but retain their personality. some look like moths, others look like mantis, it kinda depends on what their job is when they're born.
I'm sorry but as Dune nerd this is my obligation to state that your statement at three minutes into the video of claiming the bene Gesserit use psychic powers is false! Yes in the original 1984 movie this is the case as well as other depictions of the dune universe. But in the main books the Bene Gesserit are not psychic, they have trained in the ways of reading someone's expressions and being able to manipulate them with a unique tone of voice that causes someone's body to react without thinking. In the newest Dune movie the voice is given a weird sound effect but that is not the case in the source material, the Bene Gesserit are simply masters of human psychology able to predict and control people to their will.
I get it. Been awhile since I read the first book and when doing my notes for the video saw the bene Gesserit thrown around as a comparative group. Also more meant in the religious order sense, but yeah it's muddled when talking about the powers.
Really good stuff, but your accent made me really fucking confused whenever you said aunic, I thought you were saying yonic Yonic assembly is like calling yourselves the kingdom of phallus
calls a group Spanish, puts them in a Mexican sombrero from the dollar store... ok. :/ ah man I do really like you're videos, I hope you come to learn why stuff like that is disappointing. have a good day.
This videos structure is so odd, why’d you split it into sections introducing each faction then go back and go into further detail. Comes off a bit messy ngl
Unions my least favorite part of the setting. The writers put tons of effort into nuance and intricacies of different factions, and then Union is just a Mary Sue nation. Maybe if the people of Union were extremely hedonistic and depraved from everything being given to them, or perhaps a sort of mind control factor keeping the populace from going crazy/corruption in the government, there’d be something interesting there. But as it stands, if Union ever gets involved it’s “side with me or you’re a dick”
What you suggest sounds really really stupid and much more like the type of propaganda Harrison armory would spread. Why is it a bad thing that there's a definite good guy in the setting? If I wanted misery porn where "there is only war and depravity" I'd go to the universe of midtier writing that is warhammer. Tldr: you sound like a Harrison armory agent, repent scum.
Oh wow I just looked at your other comments. The idea of a moral good to strive towards really offends you huh? Go back to your warhammer toys why don't you?
Union exists in the way it does to allow players to play the good guys without forcing them to side with reprehensible people. The setting itself also isn't supposed to be grimdark. So having union be hedonist kind of messes with the tone. If you want to make the setting more hopeless, just union a group that childishly naive and destined to fail.
All you need to know about Harrison Armories is that Lancer doesn't have the Geneva Conventions; they have a list of "Things Harrison Armories Isn't Allowed To Do In Union Space".

What soundtrack is used in the Horus section?
Glory to the ungratefuls
Whats that song playing when talking about horus? It slaps
Music used in Karrakin section???
Dance of the gypsies - hanu dixit
Can someone help me please? I forgot the name of the lancer group that is basically the blue angels only for Mechs and works for 3rd comm. One of my players wants to have a back story involved with them. Neither of us can remember their name!
RA isn't Metat Aun! Ra is MONIST-1, while Metat Aun is Monist-2 and somehow even less understood!
Got it mixed that they were comparable entities. Thought some in Union claimed they were the same.
God, the First Contact accord makes me so upset. I YEARN for more Ra Info lol.
What's the song he used when talking about the trade baronies?
Brother i found it it's Pinic - Adnan Hossain, enjoy

@@antekaielowski4733 I've found it some time ago as Dance of the gypsies by Hanu Dixit. Is someone stealing music?
@@sensarna by the looks of it, but we found it so have a great day.
Ok so, wack fucking theory, Horus is Ra’s brother and they were both born from the same error, Horus just made itself known later and doesn’t actually fuck with reality. Second wack theory, Horus and Ra are going to fight at some point and it’ll fuck EVERYTHING up
Edit: Should clarify, Horus doesn’t fuck with reality to the same extent as Ra
Horus TOTALLY fucks with reality. They've Made Meta Vaults and have Paracausal tech in almost EVERY Frame they've made, See The Pegasus or The Lich for good examples of such unruly behavior.
@@jacobmoorman6323 I meant doesn’t fuck with reality in the same way as Ra
What does 'T B K' mean?
Total Biome Kill. Not just a large explosion, but weapons designed to purposely make regions uninhabitable on a large time scale.
@@Zaktact Thank you for the explanation 😁
Is there any alien in this setting?
@@Zaktact I totally get it no ill will at all, im just caught up in Dune right now since im reading the series for the first time.

Yonic assembly is like calling yourselves the kingdom of phallus
further confirmation that latinos can control time

ah man I do really like you're videos, I hope you come to learn why stuff like that is disappointing.
have a good day.
Oh boo hoo, you poor baby.
@gystes_ don't bother. The dude is basically a squatter who goes "WAAA WHY ISNT THIS SETTING LIKE MY WARHAMMER MISRRY PORN WAHHHH"
@@gystes_Writing a faction with flaws is not “grimdark”. It’s called believability. People aren’t perfect. So things we create won’t be either.
