Dear Fr. Warner, you finally have spoken what no other priest has spoken boldly from the pulpit. The directive about dress code should be something announced at every worship service in church. But we haven't ever heard it! And you are so right when you say....that we hesitate to correct, and just stay quiet....both laity and clergy, while being deeply disturbed on the inside. Dear Fr Warner today's text exposes us to the terrible suffering Jesus endures during His Passion. Yet He was obedient to His Father & stayed resolute till the end, speaking only words of love & forgiveness. On the eve of the sacred Tri Deum, as we reflect on our Lord's suffering, may His wounds be engraved on our hearts so we can feel the depths of His pain & agony. Coming to church is going on a date with the Lord. We don't go to meet our loved one indecently dressed, so we should come to church too decently dressed. Thank you father for reminding us

Only if other Priests were faithful to the teachings of the Church and spoke boldly like you, there would have been less mortal sins, there would have been less offences against Our Lord and Our Lady by their dresses and priests would have prevented people going to hell and saved their own soul too. The dress code issue is so relevant, appropriately raised and hopefully all our churches can make this a mandatory rule.

About time instructions about appropriate dress code are reiterated by the archbishop house. Inappropriate dressing is indeed being poor witnesses. You can't justify it any which ways. Very happy the way you explained it Fr🙏🙏🙏🙏

I'm glad you raised the topic of approximately dressing to Church. Wish more priests would be so forthright. Especially youth would need to be guided. Please also explain to them why it has to be appropriate. I realised this only after listening to Fr Chris Alar. The Holy Mass is a profound exchange that happens at the altar, so we should not be the ones to detract attention of the Congregation from that profound experience.

A bit late today..but good teaching for today. Esp abt the dress code..we do need to dress appropriately as sign of respect to Our Lord who has done so much for us. He certainly deserves that place of honour. The devil is always on the prowl so this is one way he tempts our young. So we hv to be guarded n alert always.

Jesus, in His Agony sustains us .
The Symbolic Servant jesus, offered His back to the severe lashing. But,he underwent it with dignity and it points to Jesus' greatness.
We shouldn't turn into cauldrons of anger and bitterness.
We should experience the depth of Jesus' pain.
May the Precious Blood flowing from the Sacred Wounds of Jesus cover you as you proclaim the Good News.

Father Warner thank you for your teaching today as i am one with you as i too struggle with the truth with my family members against all odds.I suffer a lot but i do pray for them so that I don't dilute or compromise the truth against insult humiliation and defamation.i pray for your good health and for all who struggle and are persecuted for their faith in God.I am blessed with peace and find grace to withstand it.

Yes Father you are right. When we enter the temple of God we should be appropriately dressed. You have not minced words to express what your conscience says about dress code. I am from Goa and sometimes I feel ashamed to see most of the brides at their nuptials with front portion of their wedding gowns way below almost touching their......... and the Priests officiating the mass say nothing about it. There was only one Priest late Fr. Conceiçao who used to object to such dresses. I am very happy that you have announced well in advance that inappropriately dressed will not be allowed to enter the Church. Some Priests may feel that if they make such comments on dresses, the people may stop coming to the Church. Let them not attend the Church service.

Good morning Fr. Thank you for the valuable take home msg on how we handle our persecutors. That sign of spiritual maturity can drive the devil to jump off the cliff. I pray sincerely we all attain that level of maturity (without wavering)soon, and not say the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak and try to keep in par with the enemy.
How wonderful would it be if all our churches wake up on this dress code matter, and tell it to the people from the pulpit every Sunday. For now I do hope your word Fr will reach many ears.

Very good advice on attire wearing. It's so bad of late in Bangalore City churches... youngsters come in such inappropriate clothes on mass days, it's quite disturbing.
We have forgotten that we are in the presence of our Lord we are being watched by him. Hem lines and necklines take care ladies

Is it possible to circulate a small clipping about the Eucharist on the tongue and the dress code in Church so we in turn can circulate it on various groups on WA and FB.
