One of my favorite Nightwish songs. I heard Tuomas say once in some interview that he was a Led Zeppelin fan growing up. Whenever I hear "Sahara" I feel like it's Tuomas giving a nod to Zeppelin's "Kashmir"
Instant "Like" !!!! This song is from Anette era and from Dark Passion Play. Highly underrated song, and one of my many favorite Nightwish songs ❤!!!! That middle eastern vibe, Troy's E-Bow magic, Marko's Bass, Emppu's heavy riffs and of course Floor's amazing Vocals....This song is real treat !!!! NWSU/FloorFan 🤘😎🤘.
Great reaction. One of the things I love about this song and video is not only is it a great performance but because it is also a great example of their North American shows. Since they aren't as popular here as they are in the rest of the world they typically play smaller venues and thus we don't get the big stage production. Saw them live near Boston in 2022 and they played at the UMass- Lowell hockey arena (2000 to 3000 instead of the 10,000 they can get in Europe), no pyro or video wall. Still was an amazing show and the best concert of my life. They have outstanding FOH people and the sound and lighting was top notch. The fact that they still tour here in the States is a real testament to their love for and dedication to their fans every where. Hopefully their popularity will continue to grow to the point it makes economic sense to bring the full production here. Meantime I will save up so that I can hit two of my bucket list items, seeing Nightwish in Finland and in Argentina.
Anette era song from Dark Passion Play. Yep, middle eastern feel. About the history of Egypt from a fantasy perspective. 1001 nights unseen, is a reference to the collection of Arabic tales that includes Ali Baba and the 40 Thieves. This was in Tampa Florida. Their US tours are in much smaller venues than in Europe.
Unfortunately, in the US the word has not spread. They are forced to play smaller venues. The NWA is attempting to change it by spreading the word. I love the middle eastern vibe to this song.
GREAT CHOICE!!!! This one doesn't get reacted to as often as it SHOULD!!! Love the Egyptian vibe of this one w/ that heavy Metallica/Pantera like RIFF!!!
Cool song, this one is from the Anette era of the band When Emppu goes to the front to touch "the sign" he actually leaves one of his guitar picks there as a gift
This is one of my favorite songs. I feel like I'm in the desert centuries ago. Beautiful! I have a question: What is the name of the outro music of your video's? I like it a lot! Cheers!
I just came back from Beast in Black concert in London (exactly an hour ago 😊). This band supported Nightwish during their last tour in 2022. And my favorite version of Sahara comes from this tour - from the concert in Prague, where Floor sang a duet with Yannis Papadopoulos (vocalist of Beast in Black - amazing voice!). There is no official version - only fan recordings - but I love it! What a great song, what a great delivery from all of the band and Floor as usual in top mood! Did I get it right that she was a little bit pregnant there???
Good you got to this less reacted ding. Anette does it quite well: Floor is superb. Not Tuomas' first use of oentatonics - see Pharaoh Dails to Orion, The Siren and Tutankhamen gor example. But a great performance. I really like eatching you hear these Nightwish songs that are new to you.
This is a Great song however there's better videos of it. This looks like an us concert. No back screen or pyro they're still awesome however here in the US we can't get the full experience of their show. I saw them in Maryland last year yes they were good. However without Marko and the stage effect it was somewhat disappointing
This is one of my favorite songs , so glad you got to it because this is one of the most overlooked songs
I love Nightwish❤ Sahara is beautiful song...the voice Floor is beautiful ..she is beautiful ...
such a gem, often overlooked, Floor owns it !
Ahhhhh one of my absolute favourite song ever. This version and the studio version with Anette is to me amazing. Love them both

Another terrific reaction to this intimate stateside show in Tampa. Beautiful rendition and performance by all concerned.

So happy you found this song (at this venue) I was there!! It was wickedly fun!!
Emppu's guitar is like an angry Finnish farmer's chainsaw.
You gave me a hearty laugh. :D
had the pleasure to hear this in Leipzig when it appeared back on the setlist during the human nature tour. This is SUCH a great piece.
Floor in her element. Vibes like After Forever with this sound.
The intro is my ringtone 🤘😎🤘

And no pyro either :(

It doesn't matter is it spreading, couple record companys and radio channels decide what kind of shit we listen today😂
@jouni9067 Yeh and it's absolute shit.

Floor was not pregnant yet. Concert was Mar 23, 2016. Her daughter Freja was born in March of 2017.

One of my favorite songs, why is this version not on Spotify 😒
🤗🍒🤘🏻 well done
❤❤❤
Bond~!
I like this song way better when Annette was the singer instead of Floor
Nope.
@senacht That's just my opinion. Floor has a good voice but I always liked Annette better when she was in Nightwish.

🇬🇧 Norfolk : this one is often overlooked but with it Egyptian scales it’s so good 😊
