This version comes from the Finnish movie "lieksa" For which Tuomas Holopainen (composer, lyricist, keyboard player and "owner" of nightwish) and Marko Hietala (bassist Nightwish etc) made an incredibly great signature composition. Marko is also a really great singer since eighties.
Marko was a frontman of his own band for a few decades before he joined Nightwish 🤘🤘
As he is now
Tarja was first Nightwish singer, Anette was next and Floor is now! This was from the Anette era. The footage is from the Finnish film The Matriarch (lieksa), which was written and directed by renowned Finnish director Markku Pölönen; the film premiered in Finland in September 2007.
Marko! ❤❤❤
Pro tip: Always go for the live version of everything you can with Nightwish. Better than studio versions.
Yes...this music video is excellent! It's very romantic!

"Now I know the difference between Floor, T or A and I'll be able to tell who is singing... *song starts*... Oh" :D
Now he can tell the difference between Floor, T or A ....AND.... M 😁
@@markclements7767 Wait when he finds out there are 3 Ts more 😆
@@goranelez9956 😂
I n just weeks he and TARJA will be preforming together !!!!!!!!!!!!! ☮☮💘💘💥💥
Hello my friend, greetings from UK
Another great reaction, thank you 😉
For your own entertainment I would suggest you take a look at their live performance of this song sung at Wembley, for two very good reasons. Firstly, Floor does backing vocals for Marko and that gives the song a whole new dimension, but also Troy (multi-instrumentalist) uses a piece of equipment called an E-Bow on his guitar. I can't describe the haunting sound that makes, you really have to hear it for yourself. Imagine that sound track to this video...

I would love to hear your take on the lyric video of their song 'How's The Heart?'

There are no actors, they have chosen to represent the story by imagery, and I would like to see what you think. The song is an ode to human empethy showing the value of just saying to someone "How are you?"
This song was actually written for a movie, which is where the shots of the actors were taken from. You made a comment about being old and not remembering. I'm older by far, and I can't remember what movie, but I'm betting someone will chime in. The singer for this one is the bassist, Marko Hietala who obviously has a great voice. If you would like to hear the live version, I suggest that you listen to the one from the Wembley Arena 2015.
The movie is. Finnish movie "Lieksa" from year 2007, directed by Markku Pölönen. In English it's called "The Matriarch" if I remember correctly.
forests in Finland are beautiful, I might be biased since I'm from Finland..
Marko actually won the Finnish version of the Masked Singer. If you want to hear more of him check out The Islander video (you will love that) and the Nightwish tribute to Pink Floyd's High Hopes.
The live version of this song at Wembley with Floor doing backup vocals for Marko is just...*chef's kiss. Such a beautiful song!
I think you'd really enjoy the video of one of Tuomas's (Nightwish composer and main lyricist and one of the founding members) solo songs called A Lifetime of Adventure. It's his wife singing on that track, but the music video is absolutely amazing! You can find it by searching A Lifetime of Adventure Tuomas Holopainen. As far as Nightwish, I really think youd love their newest albums lyric videos. And you could do their latest Live Video drop to Tribal, which is a compilation of a couple live shows mixed with a few things from the lyric video they released for the same song. You won't go wrong with any live Nighywish performance - anything from Wacken 2013, Wembley, Buenos Aires, Tampere, all wonderful. Can't wait til you get to The Greatest Show on Earth live from Tampere! I think that one is better suited for you, just watch it until the VERY end, even thru to the end of the credits! Hope you enjoy! Loving your reactions! Keep em coming! I'm here for it! Sending blessings from Alabama!
This beautiful little song was originally made for a Finnish movie "Lieksa!" (Pölönen, 2007). Starring in order of appearance Peter Franzen, Jenni Banerjee and Samuli Vauramo. There's an excellent live version from the Wembley arena 2015 show. ⛄👍
this is a movie, not a musicvideo, most of the scenes ...
please do the live @wembley 2015 version also, it has Troy on the e-bow guitar and is so beautiful played live you will like it too...
and "Amaranth" is a nice video to react to for you as a videographer too
When you die, your lips turn blue ! Please consider " Dead Boys Poem " for a reaction. Be well.
Thank you for reacting to this song! The Finnish landscape plays a big role in it, those birch woods in winter are amazing. There is another one with Marko as lead singer which also captures an amazing Finnish landscape: The Islander.
I highly recommend it. There is even a making off of the video. Those were the romantic and mythical aeras of the band, they are now past that I suppose.
Thank you!! Your reactions are really interesting!
I love that you are trying to remember all the names of the singers😄 Respect!
And this song is so beautiful. I especially love the live version from Wembley with Floor singing as well. This came out during Anette's time in the band (though she was not featured in this song).
I love Marko's voice. He is a great singer. Yes, Marko is the bass player.... or was. He left the band in 2021 'cause of mental health issues. No worries, now, he is doing great and he seems really happy. Apparently, there will be a new solo album from him this year. At the end of February, he will be touring South-America with Tarja.
I know that you can really appreciate music videos. Hence I would love to see a reaction from you to Tarja's solo work, to a song called Innocence. I think the music video is great and one of her best ones. It was filmed in an interesting way.
Should listen to the live version of the this song, really good. Has Troy playing with a e-bow , I think it was the Wimbley arena concert.
Bass mannen singing in this video, Marco Hietala😊
Lips are still red lyrics:
Sweet little words made for silence not talk
Young heart for love not heartache
Dark hair for catching the wind
Not to veil the sight of a cold world
Kiss while your lips are still red
While he's still silent
Rest while bosom is still untouched, unveiled
Hold another hand while the hand's still without a tool
Drown into eyes while they're still blind
Love while the night still hides the withering dawn
First day of love never comes back
A passionate hour's never a wasted one
The violin, the poet's hand
Every thawing heart plays your theme with care
Kiss while your lips are still red
While he's still silent
Rest while bosom is still untouched, unveiled
Hold another hand while the hand's still without a tool
Drown into eyes while they're still blind
Love while the night still hides the withering dawn
Kiss while your lips are still red
While he's still silent
Rest while bosom is still untouched, unveiled
Hold another hand while the hand's still without a tool
Drown into eyes while they're still blind
Love while the night still hides the withering dawn
Anette is their second singer. Slow love slow, that is a great song from the Nightwish movie Imaginaerum
Hello again, Joe. Nightwish Army Phoenix subscriber back here for you. This lovely little video and delicate performance is great. Marko primarily plays bass but is also fantastic on guitar as well. I loved your take on the video production. Thank you.
Nightwish dont do a huge amount of official videos... the upcoming album promises three, with official lyric videos for the rest. If you want to look at a pretty spectacular one they did do with the old singer Tarja, Go for the official video for Nemo
Next maybe ? Live by Marko Hietala. Nightwish End of An Era konsert in Helsinki Finland . Tarja Turunen & Marko Hietala Planet Hell LIVE.
islader... live vs video ?
❤ Great Choice ❤ For me one of the best songs… soo emotional… 👍🏆
I'd be really interested to hear what you think of "The Greatest Show on Earth" - the live version from Wembley. It's live, but the video sequences running in the background of the stage - I'd be interested in your opinion...
The title of the song does NOT ONLY refer to Nightwish - just as a little hint (I don't want to take the tension out of it). But it's a very important message that Nightwish is conveying. To make sure you understand the song, you should activate the subtitles!🏆
We need to get you to react to Sabaton - Christmas Truce... Cinematography is crazy, while most of the acting is done by their drummer Hanes who is married to Floor Jansen from Nightwish and her vocals are in the outro while credits roll. Video covers a true historical event from WW1 and VFX crew has also brought their A game.
If you wanna hear Marko let it rip, watch Pink Floyd "High Hopes" - then watch Nightwish "End of an Era" concert video do their tribute to Pink Floyd as Marko sings "High Hopes" Even David Gilmour of Pink Floyd was impressed. Prepare for your chin to fall to your chest.
💚💚💚💚 Would write more but struggling rn but watching 😢All love to you Mr Joe E
Another treat coming our way, thanks Joe E.
Do the live version.
Love the song, try a Live-Version too (little changes during time and bandmembers)
(but the Movie-Video is not a good choise for first hearing.. you don't pay attion to the song by watching this 🤫)
Greetings from NW-Army-Germany and SabatonFan
Should check out his solo work, his band work and his collab work.
Joe E (two Es no Y) - everyone will recommend a different Nightwish performance - and you can't go wrong with any of them. But as you are a videographer first and foremost let me recommend two very different videos to you. First we have Tribal (ua-cam.com/video/s0bG2ce5blo/v-deo.html), an amalgamation of several live performances and some animation cut in as well. And secondly we have Shoemaker (ua-cam.com/video/Rjp_DfvJimg/v-deo.html) - a seemingly simplistic lyric video with the most amazing ending. Treat yourself. You know you want to.....
Joe E, loved you comment on the power of the thirds. It was amazing how often these shots we off center on the left or right third. So much more cinematic and powerful than centering the subject. Thanks for your take on more than just the music.
The islander official video!!!
It has Annette in it, but is a great video!
You have to react Ghost LOVE score live in Waken of course
Marko won The Masked Singer Finland.
live at wembley version is better
🐕love marko
Ok so I have to get this in while your still small enough and still read the comments:
Please react to Twenty one Pilots. There is 3 songs for you with videos that you can do great with. "Car Radio" "Stressed Out" "Ode to Sleep" and if your not sold on them to check the rest out that's ok but you will be.
You should see the live. Version of this
I’m loving your breakdowns of both songs and videos, especially the videos. It really brings the creativity out to me. Keep on doing Nightwish.👍
Thanks for your reaction. It made me look at this video in a totally different way.
Here for you.
