i saw them at YVR in '78 .. abt 5am. she was a cold witch just wasted from show and no sleep since (but) she warmed-up some sat on the floor and spoke to me. at my feet as it were - Patti Smith of the PSG talked to moi. it was amazing
+dimethaltryptamine1 It didn't sound like +Mel Alex was dissing her..... he is a fan, don't think he listened far enough into the song to where she was playing. I like the noises she gets out that Rick .... very punk very raw
+Adam Crane Guilford That sounds like a correct analysis. We probably both jumped the gun a little to quickly. Me for not realising he'd obviously not listened long enough to where she got "Turned up & sounded alright" as saying he "I love her" obviously indicates he's a fan (despite not playing the Rickenbeck lol) & +Mel Alex for not soaking it all in B4 telling us to "Notice she is just holding the guitar, and not playing it" I also agree with the way you describe her sound & she does some chords & some lead but fuzzed it way out to give it the raw punk edge it has :)
If You Tube doesn't have a problem with live versions of this Patti Smyth tune then why in the fuck do they have a problem with the studio version of it? User MDProgger got banned just because he uploaded it. That's a crock. He's the only one I know of who's ever uploaded it so now it must be gone forever. Let me know if he gets a new screen name. We all need to talk to him and see if there's any way we can get it back. Super pissed
That's the Patti I remember getting blown away by back in the day! She's the Real Deal!
May the Gods that he be proud of Ms. Patti Smith
