To all of u who make movies of models or wargames etc. This is how to make such a video, if u find something realy interesting you need thouse photos to get a good look. Mel he knows ! This is realy well done, thx Mel.
A terrific report, Mel. Some really inspiring pieces on display there. Great to see the Crooked Dice 7TV tables. I illustrated their early books and their tables are always a thing of beauty. I noticed Brian from Templar's Crusade in the pics at the end too. Thoroughly lovely bloke. I used to work with him at Blitz Games.
Your table and the Snow Battle Scene are favorites, some of the other modulars aren't matched up on tables, the greenery isn't consistant but in all, thanks and yes, I'm 4 yrs late! Cheers.
I'm a new subscriber and just love your channel. Thank you for this overview. A pleasure to watch and to dream about it afterwards. Thank you for the time you spend to entertain us and to teach us how to let our imagination go wild.
Garibaldi at Palermo is a reconstruction of the Italian unification. Giuseppe Garibaldi took 1000 men and departed from Quarto, in northern Italy (near Genoa) with boats and arrived in Palermo (Sicily, southernmost Italy) and from there he rallied the population against the ruling king in Southern italy; at the time Italy was divided into 3 states, Regno di Sardegna which wanted the unification, the Papal State and the Regno delle Due Sicilie which controlled southern Italy. After the Expedition of the Thousand (as it was called) Italy was united under the banner of the Regno di Sardegna (except for Rome and some nearby territory that will be annexed only in 1870 with the ending the Papal State). Maybe someone will find this info interesting :)
Thank you for including stills. Your channel is great, the content of this video is even great, but I sometimes wish you could move the camera more slowly over the models. I like looking full screen to see all the detail, but whenever the camera gets fast and bumpy, it make me wanna hurl. If you do this again at another show, keeping the camera more steady would make it infinitely more enjoyable to watch! Thanks again!
You were lucky you got in where you did. I was on a table representing an organisation most of the day, the guys supporting us had a 15000 point per side kings of war game. By the time you were filming just had to do the rounds, plus I wanted a smoke. Still managed to spend £400.
+TheTerrainTutor And to be honest, I don't even think it looked that great. Your Frostgrave table was easiestly the most visually impressive. Great job on that sucker!
Very nice vid Mel, very nice. Loved all the terrain. Although in some parts it was hard to hear what you were saying was the wargame. Maybe next year in the still photos you could add some captions with the name of the wargame and what millimeter the models are... seeing all those impressive boards makes me want to bulk-buy anything in 28-30mm scale to go with my Cadians.
Thanks for sharing. Really awesome, so sad that it is too far away for me. One thing: Maybe you can add the names of the systems/builders in the description if possible? There were so many stunning tables, if we are lucky there are homepages or blogs around showing them :)
+TheTerrainTutor Yer ive found that as well which is strange though because i really like doing water effects and playing around with what different types of water like ocean, stagnant ponds and so on so forth. also when is the next bolt action d-day board episode, ive been waiting for ages haha.
22:44 - 23:27...is that a game, with kits that I can buy??? or was it just a homebrew/scratchbuild thing? - either way, it's awesome and I love it...but if it's a thing that I can buy, I may be very interested!!
Nice video buddy ! , couple of questions if you don't mind ! 1, you kept saying ".......... rock " I cant quite make it out is it castle rock ? and 2, the ruins you used on the frostgrave board are they from 4ground ? thanks :)
+David Wren It's a long vid, it'll take a little while for youtube to process the progressively high resolution version but it's HD footage, so it'll be sharp once it has ;-)
eeeh so video starts at 360 max i wait a bit to see it it will change since its usually is like that with youtube 15 min later and it has dropped to 144...
Your table is the first one that made me 'see' what Frostgrave was to look like. Excellent work !
+Malev Da Shinobi thanks matey

It's a matter of time mate, I simply don't have the time on the day to do it slower, hence the photos

That's a crazy big game mate
It was put on by Chesterfield Open Games Society.
That Horus heresy table costs more than the GDP of some countries.
+john tailby I was thinking that myself mate
+TheTerrainTutor And to be honest, I don't even think it looked that great. Your Frostgrave table was easiestly the most visually impressive. Great job on that sucker!
The tabes that had terrain made for them definitely looked better than those that had commercial bits plonked on top
john tailby
Agreed

Where can you get those space tables with suspended glass ? I want one of those. Great video.
Few folks hid the dividing line.
A really nice set-up- then a black dividing line. clip 9:41
Would it be that hard to hide the (seam), dividing line ?
your the best! DOES ANYONE ON HERE PLAY DUST TACTICS? OR DUST WARFARE

Great video Mel, i was wondering if you could tell me what the name of that mad max style game was (22:46).
Devils Run mate
Hi Mel what game was that winter table with the frozen river? That looked great. Is there any more detail about the Frostgrave table you built?
+john tailby Soz mate, i've got no idea. There's a build log about it, i just haven't had time to edit it together yet mate
One thing i found severely lacking on all the boards was the water. such as the rivers and lakes and pools and such.
+Sam Phillips there were a few but not many, water seems to be something that commonly missing from gaming tables tbh
+TheTerrainTutor Yer ive found that as well which is strange though because i really like doing water effects and playing around with what different types of water like ocean, stagnant ponds and so on so forth. also when is the next bolt action d-day board episode, ive been waiting for ages haha.
Sam Phillips
this weekend hopefully mate
Great tables!

Forge World Thundhawk by the looks of it bud
I am trying to find those clip together terrain bases where can I find those?
what time in the vid?
nvm I just realized they were the square bases. I thought they were actual clip together bases that 4ground made
lol flames of war was the only one i wanted to see
Anyone know where to get one of the backlit space boards at 13:00?
I have a feeling they're a custom job, might be worth a visit to your local sign printers as it's their sort of thing bud
What was the game at the 41:00 minute mark? Looks pretty interesting.
+Owen Cook no idea mate
