The cornerstone was such a special moment. Brought me to tears. The hard-work, sacrifices, and dedication are all coming to fruition. Thanks so much for sharing your journey with the world. We are all rooting for you! 💛 Beautiful!
Cutting stone looks so therapeutic to me. I imagine it’s more that way if you’re not operating under a deadline but I’ve gotta try it. Maybe I’ll make a fire pit or something.
Those gentlemen are so thoughtful as to letting Brady put his first stone that he carved on the corner. They knew how important that is, what a very kind gesture. So beautiful to watch men at their trade and at old school building, they are so patient in teaching, that is a true workmanship. Brady, Heather and the children are going to be so excited when they see this. That door frame is very very neat and the corner stones.
Brady I am so happy for you to have that glorious day of laying the stone for your home expansion on video. Can't wait for Heather to see it. A somewhat similar day etched deep in my memory came back to me while watching you work. And realizing now, 32 years in the future, almost everyone involved in that project except me has passed away, and the good solid little building that was built that day is still there, I cried a deep cry that was sad but also wondrous. Treasure these days Brady. God bless you all.
I was listening to the clink of the axe and chipping of the stone, wondering how many hundreds of years there had that been happening with people building their dwellings. It was a lovely sound in the quiet valley.
These are true Italian maestros - teaching what they are experts in. They keep traditions of hard labor, beauty, generosity, and skill alive to be loved and admired beyond our lifetimes and theirs. It is an amazing legacy they leave.
I know the work you’re doing is arduous, labor intensive, but it’s amazing. I am so jealous. I would love to be there to help you. I love all the things that you’re doing. I’ve even taken wood woodworking courses, and I’ve made a table where I hand carve the legsand I was in my 60s when I did that. I am so proud of you people. I hope the home you’re building stands for hundreds of years. Your daughters are so lucky. They are getting a world education in travel and then what you’re willing to do the hard work you’re willing to do; you’re not afraid of anything you’re doing it and trying it all I am just amazed. And the very best part is how you and your wife treat each other. This is truly a labor of love.
Congratulations on placing the cornerstone chiselled by you. Yours is not a regular build, it’s a piece of art. I was so proud of you when they said, “very good”. You respect the professionals and you are ready to learn new things from them. Your humility amazes. Best wishes !!! Love to all from India.
Wow, what Craftsmanship. I'm glad these skills are still around and not being lost to time. Thank you for choosing this direction with your project! Great video!
I could have watched you and Alessio for hours. You said you always wanted to learn that skill, well it looks like you have been doing it for years. Great work my friend. If I was younger or just healthier, I would love to do what you guys are doing. Blessings to you and the family. ❤️
Brady, good sir, you are doing a tremendous job at shaping and placing those stones. If you hadn't told us that you've never done that before, I would've assumed you were a master stone mason.. I eagerly await every stone house video to see the changes. You, Heather and the girls are living your best lives. For what it's worth, I am so very proud of you and all the work your family has done to get you where you are in life. Keep up the great work and I look forward to what the future and Italy has for you. Bravissimo.
I even felt the emotion that came with that cornerstone! It's amazing to watch the stone masons! I think once u moved the stones off of that bouncy table u had much better luck with your hammer and chisel! Things are really coming together!
So incredible to watch this process of shaping and building with stones from your mountain. Its great that these skills are still being practiced and passed on to another generation.
I’ve grown fond of your vlogs, it took a little while. I think all of this hands on craftsmanship is for me a huge draw. I cried when you placed that corner stone. It was an emotional moment. Thank you for sharing with us these old world skills, just amazingly astonishing work.
You’re a natural for stonemason work , The contractors must be grateful for your hard work and ensuring materials are selected for them which saves a load of time.
It is such an honour to watch true craftsmen at work, seeing piles of rock be chipped into such beautiful formation. The time, attention to detail, the patience and hard graft. Truly amazing. You guys are the real 'celebrities' in my eyes. Thank you.
In the beginning as you are chipping the outside edges of the stone , you had several layers of color and texture that are just stunningly beautiful. I would definitely use some for a wall or something on the house. So pretty. Good work kiddos you are doing it. I think I'm more excited for your progress than you 😁
We went through a similar process in Derbyshire,England, renovating a derelict end of the old farm house. It was so worth the effort, cost and time.We had a local dry stone wall expert helping us, you can’t beat having local craftsmanship. Once the renovation was complete we so loved the new space and always reminded ourselves how worthwhile the whole experience had been. I’m sure you will be so pleased with your efforts once you’re settled.
My neighbor's dad was a stone mason from Italy, they moved him here 15 years ago due to his health, I learned a lot from him over the years as he made outdoor fireplace and walkway at their house. he passed 2 years ago, and he left me his tools which some were over 100 years old. I showed him your channel and he much enjoyed it. Thanks for sharing.
There is something so satisfying to see craftspeople in 2024 chiseling rocks into walls, doorways, and lintels. Thank you for sharing the process - amazing!
These guys are doing an amazing job and very hard working. They deserve a thumbs up! It costs you nothing to click on the subscribe button, you will not miss a single episode as you will get a reminder when a new episode is released. Best move I have made, I watch every episode.

There is something very therapeutic about watching you chip away at the stones. I also enjoyed seeing some of the designs inside the stones when a particularly large piece fell away. Good work!
Your videos are just amazing to watch! I can't even imagine how much patience and just hard labor this is requiring of you all. And WOW! The view is always stunning! An unbelievable amount of work going into that house! That’s why it has stood there for hundreds of years and will stand there beautifully for hundreds more!
I am just amazed at this video. I've been watching your journey from the beginning and i am blown away. Probably most women wouldn't be interested but I love your journey. Kudos to you and your sweet family. Prayers for your family.
Hi there! I’m an Italian living abroad (Aus) hoping to one day being able to come back home. I have been following your vlog for quite sometime now, and I must say it is quite inspiring! I believe Italy needs more people like you guys, who are interested in the history, in the local traditions and craftsmanship and in connection with the surrounding nature and community. You inspired me to one day going back home and possibly start a similar project (maybe south of Italy). So Thank You for that and keep it up with the amazing job🙏
Hi there I have been watching your vlogs now for a while and your progress that's impressive to say the least. Now that your shaping stone for the property I want to offer you some advice as I was a stone mason in the channel islands for a number of years and we have some if not the hardest granite in the world. Hope this helps should you try it. John
@@RaisingVoyagersHi, So the small stone you use for making concrete are are used for the last 12 inches of filling and also it makes no difference if there is a bit of sand mixed with them but not to much so as the stone your dressing can mould its self into the shape therefore there are no hollow areas that can cause the stone to crack, you we feel the difference immediately. John

WOW!! You and the team made short work of those stones. Absolutely Beautiful work guys🤩 -great job on the Chestnut beams too👌 I so badly wanted to drive over and deliver y'all some lunch; you fellas certainly earned it today 👍 Excellent work guys, seriously good stuff 💯 p.s. still LOVING the sound of that key & door🗝️🚪♥️ Bellissimo🇮🇹
In comparison with French Chateau and your Italian Stone house, your slate ROOF is of VERY HIGH QUALITY, THE THICKNESS AND STONE QUALITY IS truly to be admired. Esthetically it looks beautiful. Si e grandiosa. You are becoming more Italian as time goes by.
You guys are amazing!!! The precision in which it takes to shape the stones to make the exterior side of the block flush to each other is mind blowing. I applaud you all for the skill of making blocks in the old fashioned way. I'm mesmerized at how straight they all came out. Fantastic Job!!!

Thank u for sharing this. It has to be so gratifying to make and watch the stones come together in making the room for ur home. It is like a zigsaw puzzle with the stones, making them fit together and grow into the walls. Simply beautiful ❤
Absolutely wonderful everything that you are doing. This is going to be a picture perfect gorgeous home filled with so much love, warmth and memories of a lifetime.
What memories are being made! You’ll be able to tell your baby girls that Daddy put blood, sweat and tears into building a home to where they feel comfortable and safe. Much love from Kentucky USA.
You will truly be able to say one day that your own hard labour created your beautiful home. So much skill, patience and love is going into building your home❤❤❤❤
I think that learning something this exciting is a good reason to forget about filming. I am reminded of flint knappers during man's early existence. The ability to turn flint into different stone tools like scrapers, knives, and arrow points etc. was a real skill/art. Using nothing but stone on stone to cut, shape and sharpen tools is amazing. Here you are learning some of the same skills millenia later. Looking good so far! Enjoy the coming week! Blessed Be!
Great work! It's wonderful that they apprenticed you as a mason. Don't feel bad if you screw up a few stones. Imagine the THOUSANDS of stones these pros have messed up in their lives! You're learning an invaluable skill and as you said you're using on-site materials for construction.
Wow, I could see an improvement in your stone cutting skills from the start until the end of this video 🔨 Congratulations on making a beautiful addition to your home
How wonderful to learn from experts! And it’s not a one off skill just for the house expansion. You’ll have plenty of opportunity to use this new skill on all the stone walls around your property! So really, this experience is priceless. Go you!
I admit that I got a little teary-eyed when you were putting the first stone in place...the corner stone of your new addition to your house. That stone has so much of your blood, sweat, and tears in it! Maybe even a little of your heart and soul? It represents all the hard work you and your family have poured into this house, and into the life you two are building for your girls there. I am honored to be a witness to The Life Story, and The Build.
I love the care, workmanship, skill developing and insights you're sharing as your Stone house in the Italian Alps takes form. It's an inspiration even to those of us who have made a lifetime of hand workmanship... Bravo Ragazzi!
Nice to see all this progress taking place. I have to say you are a very hard working Man that wants to learn everything, s great Husband and Father. The girls are blessed to have you and your Wife as Parents.

Great to see what it looked like 2000+ years ago when people shaped stones. The only difference is the clothes
Date the cornerstone. Tradition and in 200 years the owner will see and know when the addition was built.
That’s a lot of work to shape one stone. Interesting.
But so worth it! Looking amazing 😍
Awesome PROGRESS!!! 🥰🎶❤️🎶🏡🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
Amaaazing! You guys have the patience of saints!
Bradey, you are the definition of perseverance. Almost unbelievable!
Beautiful job !
Thank you! Cheers!
You are all amazing workers! My back, shoulders, legs...all starting aching while just watching you!
Ah Brady, the privilege to make something that will last forever, and for us to see you appreciate that. Thank you.
Blessed Be!
Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful journey with us I hope that you give us an house tour after everything is done
Great work! It's wonderful that they apprenticed you as a mason. Don't feel bad if you screw up a few stones. Imagine the THOUSANDS of stones these pros have messed up in their lives! You're learning an invaluable skill and as you said you're using on-site materials for construction.
Your ambition & willingness to learn from others is half the journey. Good luck & God Bless. 🙏❤️
Wow, I could see an improvement in your stone cutting skills from the start until the end of this video 🔨
Congratulations on making a beautiful addition to your home
Visions of Fred Flintstone working in the rock quarry are running through my mine. 😂. Lord did you hear that singing in your sleep??
I love the care, workmanship, skill developing and insights you're sharing as your Stone house in the Italian Alps takes form. It's an inspiration even to those of us who have made a lifetime of hand workmanship... Bravo Ragazzi!
Nice to see all this progress taking place. I have to say you are a very hard working Man that wants to learn everything, s great Husband and Father. The girls are blessed to have you and your Wife as Parents.
