  • A quick easy walkthrough on an easy process in Affinity Photo making seamless high resolution textures using a photo that can work with tilemaps in Unity or any other application requiring repetitive backgrounds.
I am currently remaking some textures for a 2D Platformer Game and want to make them using some photos for a realistic look.

Thanks a lot for making this video, most tutorials I've seen don't mention the sharpen part, it really helps to lower the blur effect for removing the seams which is a pretty important to end up with a nice texture.

No problem! Yeah I was pretty excited to see the results of that step. I have done a few of these textures since this vid and refined the process some more.

Hi, tip: also you should flatten highlights and shadows in order to balance the overall exposure and avoid big color banding. The texture will look less 3d but more smooth. You will compensate later with normal map and real 3d geometry

Thanks for the tip Francesco! Much appreciated. Always happy to learn more so I will apply this to my files and maybe make a better video.
