Sarah McKay So which verse are you following for getting the tattoo? The Bible says clearly we should follow God’s word. I would like you to share the verse where God has approved of your tattoo?
@@godschild6417 The Bible is clear that we have freedoms warranted to us by Jesus's death on the cross. Would you point me to a post-Jesus verse that forbids non pagan tattoos?
Thank you for this wonderful lesson. My husband just got a tatoo with his dying grandaughter at her request. This was very hard for me because I was taught a tatoo was a sin. While I was stressing, the thought came to mind to have compassion and not judge. Dear God, I love you and thank you for being the greatest father.
Trust u and I both I’m going to get my first and this verse stuck in my head for years smh bc of fear and the respect I have for Yahweh. I love art and this Sunday will be a year that my father pass. This tatt will symbolize the things I had to go thru without him and wishing he was there to see my journey in something he always wanted for me. My parents are from the old school Caribbean parents that is lol so they have their views on tattoos. My sister and the rest of the family are tatted lol.
Nothing can separate us from the love of God. Our salvation is not based on whether we have tattoos or not. Our relationship with Christ is what actually matters. None of these comments are loving, or gracious. All this arguing is not glorifying God at all. Many of us can regurgitate scripture until our faces turn blue. But when it really comes down to it, are we fulfilling God's greatest command? "Love one another" not "Prove each other wrong".
Although tattoos are a part of your fleshly body, when you are saved, you become a new creature in Christ. That means that all fleshly things that you once did, you can no longer do. And unfortunately, tattoos are a permanent reminder of things that were once a part of your past. 1 Corinthians 6:19 Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; Respect the Holy Spirit. Lecrae is a great lyricist, but I've been noticing some changes in him lately. God Bless!
I'm starting to think most of the people who clicked on this just did it to correct him. The people who agreed with him didnt comment cause the comments section is mostly just criticism that doesn't need to be here. Just sharing my opinion, not trying to judge, just trying to cut my bro lecrae some slack :)
Scripture is scripture. New International Version "'Do not cut your bodies for the dead or put tattoo marks on yourselves. I am the LORD. That is scripture. Man takes it and interprets there way. scripture is scripture Even lecrae can get corrected. I would want somebody to correct me just saying
Artie Woods Amen brother. Tattoos are also linked to the occult. This is why it is very dangerous to go off of man's opinion instead of actually reading the Word of God.
When I was 16 a neighbor of a friend I got my drugs from presented me with the gospel of Jesus Christ dying for my sins and lead me in a sinners prayer , I went home threw away my drugs , my porn , and nobody had to tell me to , I didn't have't read about it or have a theological debate about it I felt the conviction of the Holy Spirit and responded , same with Tattoos done getting them , when I became a man I put away childish things and as a man of God I put away sin .
To live my life with graciousness and compassion just the way he lived his. its not a sin, in my heart if you do it to glorify and honor his name, not to mention its a great way for non believers to ask questions and from there share our testimonies with them and just maybe have new brothers and sisters in his kindom...AMEN
3:28 - he contradicts himself. He is looking at it from the cultural context in Biblical Israel. Well, he should look at his own tattoo from today's cultural context in the US. Today, many tattoos are actually for honoring the dead ("in memory of"), or are for a loved one or of a quote or of anything that is of importance to that person's life (AKA an act of honor or worship). If the world regards tattoos in this way, then why should we follow suit in their "pagan" ways. So in getting a tattoo, Lecrae is in fact worshipping like they worship. I love Lecrae, and I agree with the other things he says though -- that from a current cultural context, those other things (eating flesh, eating fruit after 5yrs of cultivation, and trimming hair) would not necessarily apply to today. But I have to differ from him on the tattoo issue. He obviously already has tattoos, but I think he can stop encouraging other brothers and sisters to get tattoos. And just because Lecrae or anyone has tattoos, it does not mean that God does not love him -- in fact, God graciously forgives us of our past mistakes and gladly lavishes His love on us. Maybe it is a way of self rationalization or justification for his own tattoos, but the fact that Lecrae is encouraging this is stumbling, and appears to be in the wrong direction of what the Lord states in His Word. And He's all that really matters, right?
Madison Crotsley Sorry but they are. The bible speaks it pretty clearly. Anyone who'd actually agree with this false doctrine is just hoping for the acceptance of their sin. Luckily, people don't go to hell for things like this, but nevertheless, it's a sin that should be preached in pulpits across the world( and usually is).
Kylee LeSage If see a couple of these fools on here, saying tattoos are still a sin and can't point out where they get the information from, I swear they can never point out where it says tattoos are a sin. However the dude in the video is reading from the bible. tattoos are only a sin when you do it because someone died. because it says to not cut your self FOR THE DEAD.
Eddie Smith Getting a tattoo does nothing to glorify God. It does everything to carve your idea of art into the body Jesus paid for with His blood. You can decorate your body with crosses, just like a person will steal in the name of God for a "good" reason, or how a person will lie about a part of scripture just to get someone else to understand salvation. But in the end, it's still a blatant sin. If God says it's a sin, don't try to justify it because "you did it for God". God gave us clear verses to avoid that heathen practice.
Is it a sin to replace a temples plain windows with beautiful stained glass ones. No. nowhere in the bible does it say tattoos through personal expression is a sin. in fact nowhere does it say its a sin to get a tattoo period. its a sin to commit pagan practices. one of which is tattooing you body in pagan symbols and self mutilation. tattoos are neither good or evil. all of you here are extremely ignorant of the bible and our relationship with god in the new covenant. We are not bound by the old covenant. and many laws where 'Allowed" to be made by moses but not directly told to moses that they must be. as in moses law divorce is allowed on adultery. However in the new covenant divorce is not allowed in any way. like in the old when doing a sin was the sin but now simply thinking of it is the exact same thing. These laws were abolished because as humanity grew god realized they were impossible to maintain. and were meant as a temporary thing from the start. and time and time again it says these lands were meant for Israel. Follow the old laws and you will be condemned. there are no high preists with correct bloodline to take your sins and talk to god. No tabernacle to do the proper ceremonies to transfer your sin into a sacrifice and pay with its life instead of your own etc. The old laws are not our laws.
james Ryan "No. nowhere in the bible does it say tattoos through personal expression is a sin. in fact nowhere does it say its a sin to get a tattoo period." Lev. 19:28. It condemns ANY type of prints/marks. When you talk about the new and old covenant, you obviously haven't done any deep studying into it. Anything that was removed from the old testament is specifically mentioned in the new testament, like how we dont do sacrifices, acknowledge days like the sabbath or new moons, ect. You can find verses saying these are changed. But you can't show me anywhere in the bible where God says "ok, tattoos are acceptable now". Are you kidding me??In the old testament, it says men shouldn't wear womans clothing. So what, now it's ok cuz we are in the new covenant? What kind of logic is that? God's word is pure and holy and have meaning in our lives, and unless God says something's changed, then it remains the same. We, as christians, aren't to throw out the old testament so we can pick and choose what we want to adhere to.
@tattoo is a sin no matter what, this is a false statement because it is not in the 10 commendments. it the bible basically says dont do it! ing James Version (KJV): Leviticus 19:28 "Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the LORD" Don Schillaci try to prove what you say next time please
if you look at it like that, you should not cut your hair(get shape-ups), or wear watches, earrings, chains. because God did not create you with any of these. I'm not saying that you do any of these things, but if you do, and you're against tattoos, then you have to stop doing them. what's REALLY funny is when i see pastors talking hell of shit about tattoos and they have a sheaved head. in the same chapter that says to not get tattoos FOR THE DEAD, it also says not trim the edges of your hair. you've got to be kidding me with this shit.
Leviticus 19:28 makes it clear, I'm a Christian and my church says the bible is 100% truth, it's hypocritical to try and justify tattoos in my opinion, you don't pick and choose which parts of gods words you follow
Connor Ducharme That is referring to Pagan traditions. The tonsure and many other things. It does not change the fact that tattoos are connected to the occult through Shamanism and Bloodletting. Deuteronomy 18:9-12 1 Corinthians 3:16-17. God Bless
I don't see where he gave a proper biblical perspective to any scripture. What i see him do is misinterpret scripture. In 1 Corinthians 6:19 it says that "What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?" Regardless of what you think it means it specifically says you are not your own so you can't do what you want with your body. Secondly with the leviticus scripture he just pointed out other verses in the bible that people may not be keeping to make it seem as though God still didn't mean what he said regardless of what people are still doing. Isn't that why we are Christians, his theology is horrible. Cutting the edges and corners of your head and beard is not what we do when we get haircuts.
He explained everything here very well and exactly how it should be interpreted. Everything we do since Christ came is more about our hearts behind our actions rather than just the action in itself. Just like when some people in the New Testament were holding on to Old Testament traditions when it comes to certain foods that were offered to idols. At one time those foods were prohibited. But since Christ came we are now free to eat any of those foods. Similar situation with tattoos. Your heart behind the action is what matters. If you don't feel comfortable doing that then don't.

+sinatra2jj what scripture is that, it's about the heart. Because proverbs already told us the heart is deceitful . Jesus brought grace, but grace is to help you live Holy not to be relieved of it.
+Danny McCrea I think what sinatra means when he says by heart is the conviction behind the decision, or by faith. As for not being allowed to do what we want with our bodies, then what our we allowed to do? Can I work out? Can I get surgery for an injury, or is that changing what God allowed to happen? What exactly are the restrictions? Also, he didn't just point out other verses in Leviticus. He gave the context, he explained why it was commanded then. As for following Leviticus, the Old Law, read Galatians 3. Jesus fulfilled the law, and we follow Him by faith.
I agree with Lecrae, The problem we have nowadays inside the church is that a lot of people often judge someone of living a life displeasing to God just because other people doesn't do or live the same thing we do or live as a christian. The truth is, we can read and know the Bible from cover to cover, yet live a life displeasing to God. We can be in the church, pray and do all our ministries all day long, 24/7, yet live a life displeasing to God. I mean we cannot really tell or judge someone as a true Child of God by just doing all these stuffs. I really can't tell whether someone is on fire for Jesus just because I always see him dancing and Jumping inside the Church?! We can look, smell, walk and talk like a Christian, yet there is only one thing that will determine whether we are a true Child of God or not, as the Bible Says, " By their Fruits you shall know them!" We need to show fruit that lasts. Demonstrate a Changed Lives from the Inside out! And these fruits will cause us to reflect Christ in our Lives and Do Good as we are called to to do. Being saved is not by works, not by looks nor by confessions, but by Faith alone through the Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. So I think a having a tattoo or a body piercing should answer these question, " Does this please God?" if Yes, then you are free to do that, anyway no one can ever mock God. He knows every single and hidden motives in our hearts, in everything we do, we should do it all for the Glory of God.
+Jessel Erasquin Galatians 6:1. Also, Any Christian getting tattoos, needs to repent and ask the Lord to break any demonic covenants with unclean spirits that have been established through Shamanism, Demonism, and Bloodletting. Repent and move back on the Path towards righteous for the honor and glory of God. God Bless
dj13calli Hi, I agree with you, and I have seen/ witnessed these things with my own eyes... My only point is that We shouldn't judge anyone by his outer appearance, but look at his fruits as the bible always tells us to do, repentance has its fruits... and these fruits are very obvious to every child of God. Getting a tattoo or not is not the point here; the point is that our body doesn't belong to us anymore, it is of the Lord's, so whatever we want to do to this temple must be permitted by it's Owner. Prov 16:2 says " All the ways of man are clean in his own eyes, But the Lord weighs the Motives.
I believe the grace of God leads to true repentance which leads to living righteousness and leading to Holiness. the love of God would break people from earthly habits . and tattoos is a earthly habit. I believe judge is wrong if its not in its proper context. the word of God said the more you know the that is required. I say the more you realize how much the Grace of God is more than sufficient an every area of are life the more is required ..love is the the foundation of Grace leading to change inwardly and manifesting outwardly . a former person having a tattoo eventually will not have a tattoo or approve of it the more they have a relationship with the Holy Spirit. I understand the Grace of God reveal hidden thing because the apsole Paul said that he will have us ignorant. knowledge of the spirit behind tatroos to me is the love of God revealed . It can stop blessing or bring curses or certain miracles your beliving God to see happen on are life. God want us to be whole. so letting us know about tattoos is a must know that God tell us. Gods nature never changes. and he want us to operate under his nature. so he has tbh about tattoos . that's the love and favor and correction . he only corrects his true sons unless your not a son.
What about verses dealing with enchantment and witchcraft in Lev 19? I see Lecrae didn't touch on these things in context. And for those to say we can do things because it is in the OT well witchcraft is there too is it ok? God gave us the scripture the Holy Spirit and wisdom. If we are truly gonna serve Him we need to use all.
I personally agree with him, and I'm one of the only people in this comment section who does. the rest of you are criticizing him and his opinion. but, if you are a believer in Christ, you should understand the fact that each and every sin is equal to another. that means that if you believe having a tattoo or multiple tattoos is a sin, then having a tattoo is equal to the sin of bearing false witness or committing murder. the point is that if you are saved, God is not going to send you to hell because you have a tattoo or multiple. if you're saved, God is not going to send you to hell because you have lied. (I use that example because it's something we have all done more than once.) this is the realization people need to come to. the people that believe that tattoos are a sin and mark people off that have them as "devil worshippers" or "atheists" need to understand that. just like he said, just because you have them doesn't make you any more or less of a Christian. God bless y'all!
You single handedly shut down the comments on a post. That's awesome! Good job. I agree with him as well. If I get a crucifix tattoo it isn't a sin, because I'm making my love for God known to the world. Doesn't God say we shouldn't be ashamed of the Gospel? Therefore I can show I'm not ashamed with a crucifix tattoi
+Scott Cline oh my goodness, I didn't think anybody would actually agree with me! thanks so much! I just had to put all of that out on the table so everyone would finally see what loving God is all about 😀
+Raghan Money *Hebrews **10:26**-27 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.* Components such as Arsenic, Mercury, Lead, Beryllium, Cadmium, Antimony, Soot are within the ink for the tattoos which is toxic. It can cause Hepatitis B, C, and HIV. It doesnt matter what the image or motive is, Tattoos are also associated with Witchcraft through Bloodletting, Demonism, Shamanism, Paganism, Hinduism, Cannibalism, Buddhism, Mysticism, Mayans , Aztecs, Incas, African Tribes, Native Americans Beliefs, Baal Worship, and many other pagan beliefs. Any Christian getting tattoos, needs to repent and ask the Lord to break any demonic covenants with unclean spirits that have been established through Shamanism, Demonism, and Bloodletting. Repent and move back on the Path towards righteous for the honor and glory of God. God Bless
+dj13calli The fact that you think a tattoo defines my belief in God is very wrong. if I have a tattoo, does that automatically mean I'm an atheist to you? I mean I really would like to know. I have been going to church since I was born and I think I would know whether tattoos were a sin that could send me to hell or not. Whether it's a sin or it's not, God will forgive me for any sin I've done regardless of the severity because I'm saved! That's what I believe and you can go on believing whatever you want to; it really doesn't matter to me. the only reason I commented on this video was to let people know what I've been taught.
Raghan Money Lol. Well my point is, is that tattoos are apart of the occult/witchcraft and invite unclean spirits. Spirits have manifested through people in Church during deliverance. Now if a Christian has a tattoo or continuing to get them (no matter what the image or motive is), that person needs to repent and ask the Lord to break any spiritual covenants in Jesus name. Get back up and continue back on the path towards righteousness for the honor and Glory of God. Jesus doesn't want us continually sinning. God Bless
Revelations 19:16. Now that that is out of the way... you are all debating about tattoos... in the meantime 2,000 Christians were slaughtered at the hands of Islamists in Nigeria and continue to be prosecuted. Spend your energy elsewhere.
thank you soo much for posting this! i am soo grateful he broke this down, cause i was readint Lev.19 :28 and i was like okay this is what God is saying but I WANTED SOMETHING MORE THEN JUST THOSE WORDS, AND I love how he broke down the time period and gave that historical backgroud. and it statified my curiousity. i love the ending part. I just feel so bless to hear what he had to say towards this cause i needed to hear someone break this tattoo thing down for me! if i get a tattoo IT AINT GONE BE for noooo body! its gone be for me. and it glorify God, but im still mediating or it. sinatra2jj so thanks again. :)
There's only One who can clear up the answer for all of us, that's Jesus. Why don't you pray to Jesus and see how he actually feels about tattoos. You may have to fast and pray but if you want a direct answer from God, pray until you get one
All these comments where people say "I agree with him" really means nothing. Does the Bible agree with Him? The Bible tells us not to mark ourselves, not to defile God's temple and not to be conformed with this world - Tattoos are markings, are defiling God's temple and are being conformed to this world. I see more Biblical evidence against tattoos then I do for it... Can someone please send me a verse of approval where God approves of tattoos and where He says it's okay... I don't want to hear the opinions of men who try twist scripture to justify their sins and then claim to glorify God... God cannot be glorified with anything the contradicts or goes against His word, since He is His word. And if that's the case, then anyone can glorify God in unbiblical way they feel is right and say it's to honor God... We are told to test everything according to the word of God and to this day no one can send me a verse of approval from God that makes this worldly tradition and practice okay...
The point of the video is just to help answer the questions of a specific audience (the one he was addressing). And the video was how long?? He is HIGHLY missional. I don't think he misses the point that souls are being lost everyday. Check out the lyrics to "Don't Waste Your Life".
I always say if Jesus was physically there with you getting the tattoo how do you think it will make him feel. Jesus was against modern culture but are for the people.
nova if it brings you closer to Jesus dont let people stop you from getting as close to him as you can! I have 3 tattoos and in them is 5 crosses.... so even if my tong denies the lord my body cant.
I mean how can you cut your beard or not cover your head and say a tattoo is a sin.... I don't know but it sounds like you guys just pick and choose what's a sin either take it all as law and cover heads and don't cut your beards or die to the law of letter and be raised with Christ in the law of the spirit. I honestly think that Jesus dosent care if you get a tattoo and glorify him and care for the poor and impoverished and sex slaves then if you don't get a tattoo and don't do the fathers work just saying there are far more weighted issues of the law and spirit than talking about tattoos we should be encouraging each other to reach out to the broken and down cast not point at our brothers and telling them their tattoos are sinful idk but that's how I think of christ
Eddie Smith It can sound however you want it to, but I dont pick and choose anything from the Bible. If the word says so then it is so. You can also justify what I feel in Bible states is wrong until the wheels fall off, it makes me no difference. If I feel convicted by it, then I cant be for it. If with anything the Bible considers as wrong, what you *think* becomes irrelevant. The word can be delivered just as successfully without me scribbling it on my body...The video is on the topic of whether tattoos are sinful, which is why the conversation flows as such. We are to encourage one another as you've stated, but God also calls us to correct, teach, understand, and most importantly to test the spirit by the spirit to see if the word is really from God (1 John 4: 1). The words of the Bible are perverted to justify certain sins everyday (2 Peter 2:1, Jeremiah 23:36)... God bless.
"Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron" 1 Timothy 4:1-2
I just have a question, not meant as malicious, but I saw someone say God doesn't have a tattoo. Doesn't the bible say that God wrote our names on his hands? Isaiah 49:16. Is that not a tattoo?
This how you know the true spirit behind Tattoos is when the people who justify them are willing to twist scripture and even blaspheme to justify them. So let me understand not only are tattoos not sinful, but in fact they are Holy? Going by what you are saying then in Revelation 14:1 [ The Lamb and the 144,000 ] Then I looked, and behold, a Lamb standing on Mount Zion, and with Him one hundred and forty-four thousand, having His Father’s name written on their foreheads. This is not to be taken spiritually but literally a physical Tattoo??? So none of the redeem from Israel in the last days will be redeemed unless they get a Tattoo??? Come on you know better than this, like brother said people willingly sin all the time and if that's what you do I can't judge you because I have my own sins to repent for, but twisting the word of God, and making this false god and misleading people about the Word of God is dangerous! Just so you know the Hebrew word used in Lev 19:29 is Qa` aqa` the word used for tattoos, the word used in Isaiah 49:16 is chaqaq to inscribe or to cut out, regardless in Isaiah God is giving a spiritual account on how He will not forget His children just like in Revelations and in other parts of Isaiah and in Jeremiah when he is giving the new covenant saying they will have the laws written in their hearts it's not talking about a tattoo and we know this, but somehow when it comes to getting a tattoo we somehow are willing to rewrite the whole Bible and it's meaning. Someone said that the Bible is left up to how we perceive it, and I respectfully disagree, The Bible is the Holy Word of God and God has given us an interpreter the Holy Spirit. 1 John 4 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God
john segura and you call yourself a Christian? maybe it is yourself that need prayer so you can figure out how to control your pathetic tongue and keep your ungodly judgments to yourself
Just another question primarily at John, if we're all saved by faith in Jesus Christ, why are we pissing about tattoos when we have more important things to do, rather than kill eachother because someone got some ink that says love. Luke 14:13-14 But when you give a feast, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, and you will be blessed, because they cannot repay you. For you will be repaid at the resurrection of the just. Matt 25: 41-42
Dawson Gilson Not one person proclaims a person with Tattoos can't be saved, or we shouldn't witness to them or 'invite them to the feast", The question presented Are Tattoos Sinful? According to the Bible in so many ways they are, and there is not one Verse in the Bible that says that tattoos are Righteous, or even suggest that they are righteous, not one. But the larger concern is not the tattoo itself it is the willingness to twist the Word of God, and not Rightly Divide the Word of truth to support our fleshly desires. This is False Teaching. Check 2 Peter 2:1-3 about false teaching. False teaching and not Rightly dividing the Word of God is why so many religions study the Bible use it as a point of reference but follow a different religion. In Matthew's account of the parable you mentioned Matthew 22:11-13 it's our Christian duty to go out and invite everyone you could find to the feast, but in order to get into the wedding feast you must have on the proper garment. Many will be cast out because they were unwilling to put on the garment of righteousness.
I want to be honest... God lives in my heart, but I've struggled with self-harm in my lowest moments. Right now, my left wrist is cut up. Can someone help me understand Leviticus 19:28? Is that what the Lord means, don't cut (in today's time period)?
I'm sorry to say but it is a sin to cut because God wants you to have all faith in him on tough times and times of depression! And cutting yourself is like giving up on trusting him
Kaleb Ironic Yes, I know it's a sin, but it's also a struggle. I'm working with God to overcome it and that's what's most important. I suppose I was looking for someone to give me advice (referring to my questions) instead of pointing out the reality of my struggle...
***** honestly the Scripture you are referring to I believe is saying don't do it in honor of the dead .. but aside from that what you are dealing with I would say is more so a issue of what you already revealed of depression and the wrong way of handling it when it comes Proverbs 15:13 NIV A happy heart makes the face cheerful, but heartache crushes the spirit. I believe by you giving into the depression it simply allows the enemy to crush your spirit and what would keep you from doing it ..and strengthens your flesh to thinking that by cutting yourself (in the moment) it will make you feel better but it only makes it worse ..I have a couple of friends that have had this issue. . But fortunately I can say that it might take a lot out of you to push away but you must understand it's God's strength that will pull you away not your own ...as you try (but you must try) and be consistent to turn to the Lord in prayer, praise, and worship when it gets tough (if you have someone you can be upfront with and talk to when it gets tough it also could help)..I pray God moves in your life and knocks off thee strongholds of the we enemy off you and heals the whole within you as well Be blessed
I dont like tattoos. I dont think God likes tattoos. I like Lecrae thou.. A good question would be "Why did you put tattoos on your body Lecrae?".. To look cool, just like Lil Wayne looks "cool" in tattoos. Whether Lecare is right or wrong, it is PRIDE that drives people to defend their actions.. Well, it's America they say. Remember, God is not American. Love from Africa.
mahuvaco Tattoos are connected to the occult through Shamanism and Bloodletting. Before it was called Body Art as the world calls it (1 John 2:15:16) it was and still is known as Shamanic Blood Rituals. Unclean Spirits urges us to cut our bodies (Mark 5:1-20) Tattoos are demonic and invites demonic spirits that causes demonic oppression. Many Pastors explains the truth behind tattoos, but two (in my opinion explain it the best, Pastor Mike Connell and Pastor David Williams. God Bless
Victoria levy Sometimes that doesn't matter, because of Blood covenants. A person can be saved, but still have demons. With tattoos they are blood covenants and sometimes require repentance and praying fervently, asking God to break any demonic covenants that have been made spiritually. God Bless
Truth About Tattoos Y'all doing it wrong. You judge the speck but ignore the plank. How can you be saved and have a demon? You ever even read the Bible? It's not what goes in the body but what comes out? A house dived against itself can't stand? I find it hilarious you suggest tattoos are a part of the occult yet probably celebrate Christmas each year that is a converted pagan holiday. I'm sorry my brother but need rebuking. Jesus calls us to save the sinners and we're really going to say we can't because they are evil? Are you no better then pharises at that point?
Leviticus 19:27,28 Ye shall not round the corners of your heads, neither shalt thou mar the corners of thy beard. Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the LORD. Leviticus 21:5,6 They shall not make baldness upon their head, neither shall they shave off corner of their beard, nor make any cuttings in their flesh. They shall be holy unto their God, and not profane the name of their God: for their offerings of the LORD made by fire, and the bread of their God, they do offer: therefore they shall be holy. Deuteronomy 14:1,2 Ye are the children of the LORD your God: ye shall not cut yourselves, nor make any baldness between your eyes for the dead. For thou art a holy people unto the LORD hath chosen thee to be a peculiar people unto himself, above all the nations that are upon the earth. Jeremiah 16:5,6 For thus saith the LORD, Enter not into the house of the mourning, neither go to lament nor bemoan them: for I have taken away my peace from this people, saith the LORD, even loving-kindness and tender mercies. Both the great and the small shall die in the land: they shall not be buried, neither shall men lament them, nor cut themselves, nor make themselves bald for them: Neither shall men tear themselves for them in mourning, to comfort them for the dead, neither shall men give them the cup of consolation to drink for their father or their mother. A tattoo is not meant for a Christian because it signifies many things that are not becoming not to mention that it also attracts "spirits" or demonic forces to reside and the mark of a tattoo is permanent which can and will disfigure your skin. Every time you put a tattoo on your body you're putting yourself at risk of contracting diseases creating a health hazard and it is also a mark of identification which means you're a slave that is branded. Tattoos reflect shame, rebellion, regret, reproach and guilt. Tattoos are also visibly unattractive and unappealing which means it exudes a form of negative expressions that permeates messages that are made from a pen of ink. Tattoos glorify death and destruction which is the ultimate consequence for self mutilation and self degradation. To justify placing a tattoo on your body is basically stating that you have no regard for yourself neither do you take the ramifications of the matter seriously. Lecrae is dualistic in his answers which makes him misconstrue the true meaning of biblical scriptures pertaining to God's Word.
The New Testament doesn't throw out the law. The law was fulfilled by Jesus and is still needed today to convict people of their wrongs and through the Holy Spirit lead them to the truth of Jesus Christ. Jesus is the word and to deny any part of the word is to deny Jesus. This man instead of denying the Word needs to deny himself and take up his cross. Mathew 5:18, For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished.
1st personally I have no tats nor do I plan on getting any. 2nd Lecrae bruh why are U trying 2 justify your like of tats using the Word. The very fact U have a tat is irrelevant, U know what we've been commissioned 2 do. 3rd all U peeps passing religious & personal judgment on this man, shame, shame; know yo role, God is the Judge with all authority. If the Holy Spirit lead U 2 minister 2 a man or woman, would U deny that person the Truth of God on the bounds of him or her havin' a tat? Just a lil' food 4 yo thought.
True. It's great that you see through this lie. Although we are called to judge within ourselves(within the church 1 Corinth. 5:9-12) and to call out a lie when it is told. Bible preaching everywhere in the bible, even the new testament, shows that it's perfectly acceptable to point out false prophets like Billy Graham, ect. We do this to avoid having christians being tricked by false doctrines.
I just happened to come across this after pondering on the compromising side of christianity. Aside from music, I see that this culture also pushes unbiblical ideas that ruin and scar the cause of Christ. Believers ought to read their bibles and be well learned in these things, rather than listening to some compromising singer talk about why he thinks a sin is ok with God. We want to send missionaries everywhere in the world, but what's the point when christians don't know anything about the Holy Word of God? So we can multiply the unlearned christians? We need to strengthen our faith and become more fundamental in our faith. Let the world change all it wants, but let's not change the bible to be known as progressive.
im with you with your 3rd point on down, however i dont think that he is trying to justify the word, i think that he gave historical background about what the word has to say, i think the end part was something that he said for his family personally, but i dont think that he manipulated anything. #just saying. everything and anything , just do what thy whilst, these days, obedience left the building. Jesus commanded us to be obedient and repent, not to justify ungodly ways..
There are different types of commandments in the Scripture. Ceremonial, sacrificial, and moral. Jesus is our sacrifice, the Sacrificial law is done away. Galatians, Jesus, plus many others show how the ceremonial law is done away. The moral law is to be kept. Moral is easily defined as what you do towards God, and what you do towards others, and what you do towards yourself. Tattoos is towards yourself, it is a moral commandment.
It's a shame. I like his music, I hope he finds the real truth. The Bible clearly condemns a lot of things, but people try to re word it for their own selfish reasons..
iMerkzzU Yes it once was a sin to have tattoos. But that law was in Leviticus, as Lecrae reads. But Leviticus was a book of laws for the Jews, which is why we see a lot of strange laws in there. We have that book to help provide background to other parts of the Old and New Testament. Yes we still abstain from some of sins in that book, but Jesus gave us a new set of laws. I do not believe tattoos are a sin entirely. But you don’t want to have a tattoo that doesn’t glorify God, it is a sin in that case. Besides, God isn’t gonna send you to hell over the issue on weather or not you have a tattoo on you. You are free to get a tattoo or not, that’s up to you. Personally I don’t want one but I have no problem with people who get them (as long as they glorify God).
I'm a Christian and I have a tattoo and I plan to get more. I read the same Holy Bible like any other Christian. I believe that GOD doesn't judge you by your appearance, but he judges your heart (1 Samuel, Chapter 16: 6-7). The sad about today is that people generalize too much and quick too judge you. Matthew, Chapter 7: 1-3 sums it up about judging other people. Roman 3:23 says All have sinned and fell short of GOD's glory. It doesn't matter what your gender, your race, your age, your belief, or what your sexual orientation is.... No one is perfect other than GOD/Jesus Christ.... I believe it's what you're tattooing on your body, not the concept itself.
God doesnt judge appearance? God has judged apprearance even since the law of Moses. Even the new testament is full of scripture pertaining to appearance. You can do what you wanna do, but Jesus said in John 14:15 "If you love me, keep my commandments". If you dont know God judges apprearance you might wanna read the all the Epistles from 1 Corinthians through 3 John, Exodus, Deuteronomy, and Leviticus. All of these books are full of scriptures regarding to how men and women should dress, and it even mentions what lengths of hair men and women should have, and even tells us that we shouldnt wear expensive jewelry. I mean the list goes on, but most like you gonna say im judging right? Seriously God cares about your appearance and tatoos are sin wether you want to accept it or not. But regardless, God Bless you and I hope the Holy Spirit guides you to understanding.
I don't think you're judging at all. I think you have a opinion, with facts included, just like everyone else. I know what GOD said in Leviticus 19:28, but I also read 1 Samuel, 16:6-7. I read the same Holy Bible as you do. All I still have GOD's anointing on my life even though I have a tattoo and plan on getting more. I believe GOD is not going to stop loving me and I will continue to allow the Holy Spirit to speak through me and lead me to spread his gospel. GOD's flawless and precious holy word. We all have difference in opinions; we all agree to disagree sometimes. GOD bless you.
I'm sorry but my middle name is Pride (literally) and I see pride written ALL OVER THIS. Haha. You can tell he's been slightly immature about it with his mannerisms and whatnot. If you choose not to see that then that's a conscious choice. About Big Macs and fries: WE SHOULDN'T BE EATING THEM. THEY'RE NOT HEALTHY and our body IS our temple. All in all, I just want people in the body of Christ to be OPEN to seeing God's view on EVERYTHING. AT LEAST acknowledge the fact that it COULD BE something that God is against, (since it is in His word), whether it's something you like and partake in or not. I feel that that is a the mark of a mature Christian.
so help me to understand, because we have this discussion among teens in my church a lot. If the argument for tattoos is "It was Old Testament and if tattoos are wrong then so are the other verses contained in chapter 19", then what about the preceding verses of the same chapter that not hating my brother, not seeking revenge, not lying or deceiving one another or cursing the deaf or perverting justice? How do you select which ones still hold and which ones do not?
Hahahaha😂, Does he know the difference between the Law and the Righteousness of Faith? Has he ever come across " Let each man possess his vessel ( Body ) in honour and Holiness? 1 Thessalonians 4:4. Does he read Romans 12:2? Do not conform to this world but be ye transformed? 1 Corinthians 10:23 Not all things edify. I can't imagine a Holy Spirit filled believer tattooing. What a load of deception..... Lols
ZZ Kokonaing Then its not a tattoo. Tattooing the body requires multiple needles 3-9 for Lining and 9-21 for Shading which makes the person bleed. Unless you're talking about Henna tattoos which usually doesn't involve cutting, but can be spiritually dangerous as well.
Now your just being judgmental “I can’t imagine a Holy Spirit filled believers tattooing” we all sin differently you are being legalistic and religious
I don't agree with this. The Bible says don't eat food with blood in it. It doesn't say don't eat food with blood in it because you don't have refrigerators yet and you might get sick. Don't cut your body for the dead. I have a tattoo of a cross. Technically it is a sin because I have cut my body for the dead. The Bible says what the Bible says. We're all sinners but God forgives. "Be still and know that I am God."
Bro no that was the old testament the old testament was before god was resurrected the new testament doesn't talk about that and before any body comments stop yelling at him n etc im not im just telling him something
victor negron Paul The Apostle told us not to mess around with witchcraft or do the things the Gentiles did. Tattoos are apart of witchcraft, it doesn't if it was in the old testament or not. God said not to do it for the fact that tattoos purpose was to worship demons. That what the pagans did. Also, bloodletting is demonic and not of God, therefore there is no justification in getting a tattoo. God Bless.
victor negron No my friend, the practice of getting a tattoo is Shamanism which is witchcraft. When you are getting a tattoo, bloodletting is involved. Its all demonic and people have gotten possessed because they got involved with the occult without knowing. Pastor Mike Connell explains it clearly. God Bless.
I love Lecrae but at the Beginning he says Leviticus 28 but my Bible only goes to 27 did he make a mistake and give the wrong Book or Chapter please tell me so O can find that Scripture.
+Noah Phillips Leviticus 19:28 Brother, and let me just warn you that Lecrae is not a Pastor, so he wont be able to explain the spiritual aspect of tattoos. God Bless You.
Like it states For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear as Christians and people who worship we outta have a greater mind set instead of justifying if it's a sin you should always go the extra mile for our lord Jesus no matter what just so u won't question yourself, oh is that okay!? or it's doesn't that in the bible ! You should always wanna be extra careful instead of 100% be 110,120% so u know your in the clear. Im not perfect nobody is I struggle everyday with life but everyday My faith gets stronger and I correct myself with self discipline I stumble but i pray for help in my weaknesses and ask God for forgiveness . If u listen to the radio u should have all your stations on Christian music not just 2or3'nooo put all 5 or ten if you have too . It's difficult but it's worth it in the end. God loves you. Pray pray pray ..
noble peter KEEP PREACHING GRACE OF GOD WHICH BOUGHT ALL THINGS BACK FOR GOD'S GLORY. KEEP ENCOURAGING LECRAE WITH HIS GIFTS FOR THE BODY CHRIST. eric from E Africa Tanzania GOD BLESS U Bro
Lecrae doesn't understand the bible his explanations are wrong and out of context and it reflects in his music lyrically as well...all you can do is pray and over time he'll get more understanding.
Lecrae's partially right though. He just conveyed it in a "young minded", unusual way. Tattoos were used to associate with pagans, and pagan worship. THIS IS ONS OF THE NON-BINDING mosaic laws. There is actually a method an illustrious theologian created to determine which laws are binding and which aren't. I cannot recall its exact name, but I will make an effort to find it if your curious. Lecrae also made the point that if tattoos are sins, then cutting your beards is a sin. Like I said before, he's right, but he said it so terribly. These are two of the laws that apply to the Isrealites not New Testament Christians. +XTruthAboutTattsX
Jesus never got a tattoo on this earth because he obeyed the law of Moses unto death. Therefore we shouldn't get tattoos either if we are following Christ. Jesus's example of following the law unto death just debunked this teaching.
I would like to know though, where in the bible does it say that Jesus never got a tattoo? We do not know that unless you where there next to him. you have a good enough reason for yourself though not to get tattoos. Since you have conviction on this, stay by it. tattoos are not a salvation issue though, so i believe Jesus loves me cause i have repented, i have been baptised and i have made Jesus Lord of my life, and whether or not i have tattoos (which i do..which i got during my dicipleship, which i have prayed about and studied out and really counted the cost of having a tattoo - not just getting one because its cool...) if i live a life according to Jesus' teaching, and knowing everyday the slate is wiped clean, im looking towards what is ahead, and keeping my mind on things above...hoping to get to heavan. LiC
Jesus was actually very clear on being legalistic in terms of law. If what you stated was true then peters vision from Jesus was a lie because the old testament is very clear on pork. Tattoos were only to mark the difference between the Jewish people and the philistines and gentiles... Last I checked Lacrae is not of Jewish background, I'm not of Jewish background. The reason why Gods people weren't to get tattoos is based on two factors. One because the Jewish people were always at war with the philistines and gentiles so they had to be very clearly categorized, Jew or non-Jew. Second is that the gentiles would tattoo their body due to their religion so the Jewish people wouldn't get confused and think a Jewish person was a pagan. Now days we have no need to separate ourselves between Jew and Gentile because of the sacrifice Jesus made. This is evident in Acts 10:44-46 where the Jewish leaders see the holy spirit pouring out onto the gentiles, which then tells us that there is indeed no difference between Jew and Gentile because all have been saved through grace. Through this grace we are not to condemn others because John 3:17, Jesus didn't come into the world to condemn but to save. Ultimately the focal point must be Christ and what he has done in our lives and through that we share our joy and our hope, not our legalism.
ryan c I agree with you but only to an extent... because if i were to apply your concept, then did Jesus wear makeup? if not then most women are condemned. Did Jesus pierce his ears? then most women are also condemned. Did Jesus ever cut his hair? no, because he was a nazerene. Then most men are condemned. Did Jesus wear gold chain? the list goes on. We are to know how to follow Jesus when Jesus says to follow him. This is how i would follow Jesus. Don't judge other people. love them. Have Faith in God. Avoid temptation, Heal the sick, raise the dead. Display God's grace and love and mercy towards all people form the sinner to the saint. This is what Jesus was remembered by and this is what the Bible documents of him. This is what we follow. Paul also said that even though all things are lawful to him not all things are needed. He also said that even though he as a christian is allowed to eat food offered to idols and it would do him no harm. But for the sake of others, whose conscious might be offended, he will not partake, because he doesn't want them to stumble in faith. It goes to show that what matters is the heart of faith and not so much external things. Faith is the subject in question. Not things like tattoos, piercings, makeup, hairstyles and stuff. it only becomes an issue if these things, and anything else for that matter are abused.
Well I don't know if your aware but you simply re-stated what I said, just in your own translation and view point. That was my focus, Christ, not issues of legalistic terms.
I'm not trying to judge anybody, I just want to share this: Ezekiel 28:13-18. We say that something is desecrated (profaned) when we use it for doing things for which it was not created or designed; please, as christians we must practice the love, instead of judging, we should better pray to God and ask revelation from the Holy Spirit, the only who can guide us to he thruth, and remember that the faith and the relationship with Jesus it's personal; please read Romans 14:23 and think about if tattoing you is is a trascendental action in the kingdom of God. Bless you all. (Excuse my grammar, i'm learning english lol :D)
Aaron MB Tattoos are spiritual covenants made with demons. Mark 5:1-20 explains how unclean spirits urges us to cut ourselves. Also, tattoos originated from Demonism, Shamanism, Paganism, Mysticism, Heathenism, and many other pagan beliefs. Tattoos are demonic and God doesn't want us cutting our flesh and mutilating our bodies. (1 Corinthians 3:16-17)For Truth about how dangerous tattoos are spiritually, please look up Tattoos: Making an agreement with the devil? By Pastor David Williams.Don't Get Tattoos, Demons manifest through them by Dr. Bree KeytonAre Tattoos Sinful? Shamanism and Demonic Blood Covenants by Pastor Mike Connell. God Bless
Well done Lecrae thank you so much for making it even clearer now. My parents are from the former S.U. and are traditional Russians, no make up, jewelry, tattos for a time no nail polish or T.V. allowed.... My dad and his dad were very traditional and tried hard in the wrong direction to follow the bible and that sent them on the road to legalism. myowndad is blind to the amazing gift of Christ. My Parents always tried to cut us off from the world but Christ said go out and reach out to the lost. None of it made sense to me because the person teaching it to me wasn't living it out anyway.....So I was always torn about these old testament issues, and dint always agree with my dad n mom, I knew tattoos weren't a sin because of the context of that verse but exmingin the prior and after verses really made it very clear..... Thank you :) Halleluyah and PRaise God for his mercy endures forever :)
Vara Mishkova Hello Vara, I'm sorry to say, but Lecrae has no idea what he is talking about. He is not a pastor or someone who deals with casting out demons on a day to day basis. Its not to belittle him or to put him down, but this message about tattoos is VERY dangerous. For true information on tattoos using scriptures from the old and new testament, please check out Are Tattoos Sinful? Shamanism and Demonic Blood Covenants by Pastor Mike Connell or Tattoos: Making An Agreement with the Devil? By Pastor David Williams. I pray that you find the truth about this and see what is happening to people when they get delivered from having a tattoo. God Bless :) DJ
Christeen Seebalak Amen. It is sad because he is capable of misleading into sin and inviting demons. For more truth on this PLEASE check Tattoos: Making An Agreement With The Devil? By Pastor David Williams Or Are Tattoos Sinful? Demonic Blood Covenants by Pastor Mike Connell. It will expose what the devil is doing with this. God Bless
tattoos are a form of sacrifices as part of a religion which is definitely not in good terms with God. sacrifice because the pouring out of blood is still used as offering to certain "gods" Jesus shedding his blood for us was enough. No to tattoos.
"You shall not make any cuts on your body for the dead or tattoo yourselves: I am the Lord." (Lev. 19:28) “Don’t misunderstand why I have come. I did not come to abolish the law of Moses or the writings of the prophets. No, I came to accomplish their purpose. I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not even the smallest detail of God’s law will disappear until its purpose is achieved. So if you ignore the least commandment and teach others to do the same, you will be called the least in the Kingdom of Heaven. But anyone who obeys God’s laws and teaches them will be called great in the Kingdom of Heaven. But I warn you-unless your righteousness is better than the righteousness of the teachers of religious law and the Pharisees, you will never enter the Kingdom of Heaven!" (Matt. 5:17-20)
You can't honor God or show your commitment to God with a tattoo SMH, you can ONLY do that by OBEDIENCE to His holy Word (you can read the Bible if you don't believe me)... What is his son's tattoo go say underneath "Even though sinners have tattoos of crosses (etc.), mines mean ..."
That is exactly what I'm saying. The reason he thinks this is because he does Hip Hop for Jesus, but we all know that Hip Hop has no place in the church and cannot be used to glorify God
Cj McDowell It's SAD; we are to influence the world but it seems like the world influence the church... .One person told me that God actually support tattoos and said it's in the Bible and had an Amen corner by quoting a scripture but when I truly explain it they left her hanging solo. She said if it's okay to decorate a church building then it's okay to decorate our bodies, tattoos are no different than hanging pics in a church; they're both God's Temple. The Deceiver is busy busy busy! We're all human and all sin BUT DON'T LIE ON THE WORD to support your desires. Me, you and other saints just have to PRAY harder. God Bless!
Ajee58 It wasn't until recently that Tattoos became a fad that people started to twist the word like this. And this generation really tries to defend their various fads through the word as if all these years all these people of God misunderstood the word, and now just now God has chose to reveal the true meaning to this generation because they are so Holy.
Yea, I guess all the technology they're growing up with makes them smarter and they read some secret code we didn't understand SMH. Some people believe that the Word changed for the 21st Century. I really wonder what is "today's Christian" definition of HOLY? Because you are so right the Word is twisted for A LOT of different things now because the Devil got people fooled into thinking that everyone is going to Heaven . I pray they find out the truth before Judgement Day!
That's an opinion. There's so many things in the bible that we do today that would be "sin" you don't 100% know if he is wrong or right. I think getting a tattoo with the motive of sharing God isn't bad. Some Christians think it's not sin to be Gay....some think cutting your hair is sin....so it's all up in the air. Do I think you will go to hell for a tattoo? Nope.
+Brandon Couch It's not an opinion when we stand up for God and His word. I see more Biblical evidence against tattoos then I do for it. God tells us not to mark ourselves, not to defile His temple and not to conform to this world. Tattoos fall under these 3 categories of that goes against God. And if you feel so confident in your stance for tattoos, then please send me a verse of approval from the word of God where God tells us that it's okay. I want to see from God Himself that He is okay with this practice. God is His word and God would not contradict Himself. Would you take your mom's car out and go spray paint it? Would you spray paint her house? Would you write on the walls of her bedroom? I don't think you would... So if you have this much respect for you mom, why don't you have enough respect for God's temple not to defile it and do with it what you want??
Actually, here's what the Bible really says. Firstly, the verse immediately before the verse you are using to condemn tattoos, forbids the people of that time from cutting the sides of their hair, & clipping the edges of their beards. Do you see that as sin today? Leviticus 19 also forbids planting two kinds of seeds within the same field, or wearing clothing woven of two different fabrics. So if you're condemning me or anyone else for having tattoos & body piercing, you should probably make sure you follow all of those rules as well. Next, God himself condones body piercing in the Bible. In Ezekiel 16, God compares his love for Israel in terms of a man showering his bride with gifts: “I put a ring on your nose, earrings on your ears and a beautiful crown on your head” (verse 12). In Genisis, Abraham sent his servant in search of a wife for his son Isaac. The servant prayed a specific prayer that God would reveal the right woman to him by confirmation. God answered this specific prayer of confirmation with Isaac's future wife Rebekah. When the servant (who was a man of God) was made aware of her, he presented Rebekah with some gifts, one of which was "a gold nose ring." (Genisis 24:22.) These things are not opinion, they are in the word of God. Again, God forbids tattooing & cutting the body specifically for the use of pagan worship. Not tattooing or body piercing in & of itself. This was for that time, that culture, due to association. Same with trimming beards, planting seeds, & wearing clothing of more than one fabric. Pulling any of these verses out of context to suit your own man-made view to condemn someone IS religious legalism, & legalism comes from hell.
When you say that our body is the temple of God and our body belongs to God, where do you reflect that when you live like what worldly people does....which is wicked, plz don't make people to live in wicked make them or bring real seprated one for Christ
How Is he making people wicked? There so many things on bible that we do today that would be "sin" back then. You don't know for a fact of its right or wrong
I'm I have mixed feeling about tattoos, But at the same time isn't most of these holiday's . if not are have pagan practices? Also doesn't it not also say that we shouldn't wear certain types of clothing material, also eat certain types of foods? Food with blood? rare meats basically? So what about these practices?
My brother I'm sorry but you are so wrong .. You are using it to try to prove ur way of thought and you have a lot of young people listening too this and believing you because their to young in the spirit to read for themselves...
Steven Powell I think He said young people shouldn't get it. It is not a sin to jump out of a plane without a parachute, do you know that? does that mean you should try it ?
Ashton Smith that was in the old testiment before he died on the cross, so that would mean ur not allowed to eat bacon or pork, and u have to sacrifice animals to give to God
For those saying Jesus did not have a tattoo... he will during the second coming. If your tattoo has to do with pegan idols and worship tattoos are bad. If they are worshipping God, it never says no. People nit pick the Bible for verses they want to hear or condemn people with. No one remembers the whole passage or even the section. Please, before you make another comment about how Lecrae or other Christians are wrong for getting tattoos, please read those verses in context. Thank you! Revelation 19:16 ESV On his robe and on his thigh he has a name written, King of kings and Lord of lords.
This is blasphemy please tell me were Christ had his name tattooed on him. We need to stop playing with God. If you don't have spiritual discernment to understand the things which are spiritual ask somebody but don't go around blaspheming just to justify things of the Flesh. The scripture is speaking in a spiritual sense just as the sword that would come from His mouth if we play with scriptures like that one would make a case for tattoos being the mark of the beast that's in verse 20.
Eddie Smith I'm not quite sure the point you are trying to make with your questioning, but let me make this simple. Are you saying Jesus had a Tattoo? This scripture that he is quoting does not suggest that. The word for Tattoo Qa'aqa is only found once in the Bible where you see it is forbidden. The Larger point is When the Bible Says you have to Love God with all your heart, He tells us how to love him Keep my commandments. So I love God with all my heart but if it means I got to stop getting tattoos then you got to forgive me on that one Lord???
***** The KJV is the right bible. But the translation is completely wrong. He just doesn't want to feel bad about the sin he's done in the past. I don't see why he'd care since he's been forgiven of that sin anyway. ( if he is truly saved/born again)
The origins of tats were about ownership. You marked your property animals slaves ECT. The adversary marks his property too. YAH s mark is on your heart. Tats used to be frowned upon , but are now accepted by most as cool. But what is most misunderstood is the ritual of blood letting. We get deceived into acting out the doctrine of demons. I pray for YAH to open the eyes of his ppl. AMEN.
***** I understand the innocents of doing such a thing, but yes it is still witchcraft because you're still being apart of a blood ritual no matter what the image is and Tattoo Artist are considered Witchdoctors or Shamans. God Bless
Amen Thessalonians 3:14-15 New Living Translation (NLT) 14 Take note of those who refuse to obey what we say in this letter. Stay away from them so they will be ashamed. 15 Don’t think of them as enemies, but warn them as you would a brother or sister
Billy Graham once said “If you are unsure if something is right or wrong, look and see what the world is doing or saying and do the opposite.” What part of take no markings dont we understand? You can take the Levitical verse in context or out of context and it still draws the same conclusion. If we justify that its just old testament then even though its one tiny piece of text, its easily ignorable or unimportant. But it was so important that God put it there for a reason.
That scripture is a passage from the old testament...which we don't live by anymore...But the new testament doesn't say anything about tattoos now being okay...so my question is why risk it? Is it worth risking your soul over?
If it is considered a sin you will be forgiven for it but I'm not saying it's ok to sin cause you'll be forgiven I'm just trying to say that if you believe it's ok and you get one and it's a sin you will be forgiven
byMxgiic wait what!? A sin is a sin…. If I believe murdering is good will God say its all good and forgive me if I don't ask for repentance and keep sinning?
Egonz4 See this is mistaken, yes God forgives, like most people. You make a mistake once; shame on you. You make a mistake twice; shame on me. God knows that we are imperfect beings but he tries to make us more pure. By repenting you are asking God to forgive you. He loves you and forgives you but will become disappointed if you keep going and repeating that sin. Does that make sense?
I feel bad for a lot of you who says that we don't live by the Old Testament anymore but yet still follow the 10 commandments. The Old Testament is just as important like the New Testament. If GOD didn't want us to follow the Old Testament why is it even in the bible. Please don't say to tell us about how the world was created etc etc etc. the Old Testament is important, don't be fools and shy away from it ppl.
Jack Fields yes I do understand what you are saying...even though when we are baptized, God says he forgets are sins when we repent. I was just saying that some people say that if you believe it's alright then you'll be okay. That is a big lie. And to the other guy, yes...the bible does say we can use all scripture to teach doctrine, but it also has some strong verses that condemn us if we practice the old law like some people do
The Old Testament law commanded the Israelites, "Do not cut your bodies for the dead, and do not mark your skin with tattoos. I am the LORD." (Leviticus 19:28). So, even though believers today are not under the Old Testament law (Romans 10:4; Galatians 3:23-25; Ephesians 2:15), the fact that there was a command against tattoos should raise some questions. The New Testament does not say anything about whether or not a believer should get a tattoo. We do have this command in 1 Peter 3:3-4: "Don’t be concerned about the outward beauty of fancy hairstyles, expensive jewelry, or beautiful clothes. You should clothe yourselves instead with the beauty that comes from within, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is so precious to God." Granted, this passage is directed at Christian women, but there is a principle here that may be apropos: namely, a person's external appearance should not be the focus of our attention. Much effort goes into elaborate hairstyles, fine clothes and jewelry, but that's not where a woman's true beauty lies. In the same way, tattoos and body piercings are "outward adornment," and we should be careful to give more effort to the development of the "inner self," regardless of our gender. In relation to tattoos and body piercings, a good test is to determine whether we can honestly, in good conscience, ask God to bless and use that particular activity for His own good purposes. "So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God." (1 Corinthians 10:31). The New Testament does not specifically command against tattoos or body piercings, but it also does not give us any reason to believe God would have us get tattoos or body piercings. An important scriptural principle on issues the Bible does not specifically address is if there is room for doubt whether it pleases God, then it is best not to engage in that activity. Romans 14:23 says, "But if you have doubts about whether or not you should eat something, you are sinning if you go ahead and do it. For you are not following your convictions. If you do anything you believe is not right, you are sinning." This reminds us that anything that does not come from faith is sin. We need to remember that our bodies, as well as our souls, have been redeemed and belong to God. Although 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 does not directly apply to tattoos or body piercings, it does give us a principle: "Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body." This great truth should have a real bearing on what we do and where we go with our bodies. If our bodies belong to God, we should make sure we have His clear permission before we mark them up with tattoos or body piercings.
I understand where he is coming from & trust me when I say that grateful that we do not live under the law but by grace; nonetheless, I also believe that if what i'm doing is offending/may cause my bro to sin or to see an alteration of God rather than the authenticity of Him, I rather abstain from if then to watch my bro/sis fall. 1 Corinthian 8: 9 says, "Be careful, however, that the exercise of your freedom does not become a stumbling block to the weak." God bless.
My advice to anyone who wants to get a tattoo, especially a person who says they are a Christian (Christ follower), tattoo Jesus on your heart not your body, just like circumcision is of the flesh and is of no use for salvation, but be circumcised in your heart unto the Lord, apply the same concept with any and all bodily sin (even sexual impurity) you think you need to adopt to prove your honor for God. Worship Him in Spirit and truth, be not drunk with wine, but be filled with His Spirit, flee fornication. Don't chase after temporary passions, but seek eternal life in God through His living word Jesus. Everything in this world is fading away and even the lusts of it. If you got one prior to being a Christian, put that way of life behind you, you are now a new creation in Jesus, follow Him not the world. Blessings.
I disagree. The Bible say don’t mark up or cut the flesh. Definitely not to represent the dead. Just cuz somebody famous says it’s cool don’t change the Bible. Don’t be sheeple.
Both Jesus (Matthew 5:17) and Paul (Romans 6) taught that disobedience of moral law is sin. No Christian leader would teach that braking moral law was ok. So it becomes a question of are tattoos moral law or civil law. Levi 19. has about 26 commands and about 20 of them are moral. These include lying, stealing, hating your brother and many others (Novel ideal read it for yourself!). The true context of v28 (v26-31) is moral law. These verses command against enchantments (v26), bodily mutilation (v27), death worship (28), prostitutions (29) and sorcery (31).
Tattoo is still worldly. Do not be xomfrom with the things of this world and tattoo is of the world. You are still doing things like the world is doing and we are still called to be separated and not do things like people of the world. Plain and simple. When you get tattoo, your body still bleeds from that, it's just repackaged. Don't twist it as the principles still apply.
As a minister I do know no one is to damage their temple ....period, no holes as or markings to the skin. And far as worship, what do you think one do when they get a tat, they are loving that image they put on their skin for themselves which that is a form of ungodly worship. When a person get it for others to see, they are literally showing off for them to see it which that is vanity and vanity is a sin.
●● I goto a holiness penicostal church and they keep trying to tell me that getting tattoos or earnings are a sin. I agree with everything they preach to us it's strait from the word. except for that. I think it's almost insulting to think you have to dress a certain way or its a sin or getting tattoos is a sin. can someone explain or give me the verses in the bible where it explains that getting tattoos isn't defiling your Body..
God looks at our hearts, what do you get or want to get tattoos for? bc historically, tattoos were done in worship to other gods, that's where the sin is. in idolatry. what is at the heart of it?
Tattoos is apart of a lot of things such as Idolatry and Witchcraft through Cutting the flesh, Bloodletting, and Shamanism. It is demonic and witchcraft is forbidden in the New Testament Galatians 5:19-21 Anyone who has tattoos as a Christian needs to repent and seek the Lord for truth and guidance in Jesus name. God will forgive us when we repent. God Bless
Firstly, the verse immediately before the verse some of you are using to condemn tattoos, forbids the people of that time from cutting the sides of their hair, & clipping the edges of their beards. You're not better than any tattooed person. The Bible says God hates arrogant attitudes.
There is a difference between judging and rebuking, one condemns while the other corrects. A tattoo may or may not be a sin for obvious reasons as some have already stated. Here are some facts about tattoos 1. They can stop a person from getting a life saving MRI 2. Stop you from giving your own child a blood transfusion if needed. 3. The ink used in many tats are the same grade used in copier machines and auto paint? 4 Ink can have mercury, copper, zinc, nickel, arsenic and plastic in it.
Hey got a question for the followers of Jesus. When it comes to tattoos and whether it is a sin or not to get them is a Hot topic. The most used answer is that it was a sin to get them back in the bible days because of pagan practices. The people who bring that up talks as if pagans only existed back then. so the question is, since pagans still exist wouldnt it still be a sin now to get tattoos for any reason? just asking. Its still a pagan practice.
it all depends on your issues with it. if u believe its alright to drink- drink! dont overdoe it. and vice versus. same for piercings and tats! everything in moderation. do what u believe truly is right. if u truly believe something is right and you have evidence to back it, your decision is valid! do what is in your comfort zone.
You are right. But the argument isn't what it's use is but whether it's a sin. My point was it's not. You are also looking at this from one perspective. That tattoo may be a reminder of our short comings but it may also remind that the one we are chasing after has no shortcomings
His explanation is solid. If you believe it's a sin, don't get one. I wouldn't advise you to make it a habit to go against your convictions. But if somone else gets one, consider Romans 14. God hasn't commanded us not to do it. There are some things that are doctrine and are worth defending. There are other things that are liberties that not everyone will feel the same about (in the Romans 14 example it's eating meat offered to idols and the day to workship). That doesn't make them sinful. I'm not saying that sin is relitive and everyone should do what they thing is right in their own eyes. I'm just saying that not everything is spelled out and we must show grace in those areas.
Leviticus 19: 28 Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the LORD. - "Ye shall not" sounds very clear to me. It can be forgiven, but to say it is not a sin is false.
I honestly believe that it's about your personal relationship with God. Your own convictions. It's between you and God. If you feel Holy Spirit convicting you about it, don't get it . But if you've talked about it with God and you don't have conviction about it. Why not ? It also depends on the motive behind your tattoos. What are your intentions of getting it?
NaturallyEsosa Tattoos are apart of witchcraft through bloodletting and Shamanism. Also, of God said not to do this, then it doesn't matter what the motives are. Obedience is better than sacrifice. (1 Samuel 15:23) Let us not justify sin and speak the truth in the name of Jesus. God Bless
I'm Planning of getting a tattoo accross my chest that reads "saved by grace"...To me, it'll be a reminder that i AM saved by his grace and mercy and will encourage me to live everyday according to his will...im not planning on getting it because it looks cool, or peer pressure, i want to get it as a reminder that God lives within me, a reminder of that sacrifice he made for me and all of us on that cross.
Please help me to understand where I said it was alright to sin to reach others. Because I didn't. Getting a tattoo is not a sin. I'm going to try and end this conversation with this. If you want to say that tattoos are a sin, then please also abide by verse 27 (immediately before the verse that talks about tattoos) and do not, "Do not cut the hair at the sides of your head or clip off the edges of your beard." If you follow that also, then I definitely respect your your argument.
Thank you 4thecross1.. Your comment came across in a loving peaceful manner indeed.. What you said makes me realize much more.. I really appreciate how you broke it down.. Its Christ speaking through you (:
Now as we study the word it should not be as the Pharisees and sadducees did looking for loopholes to justfy our own desires sinful or not. The word teaches that every good gift comes from above ( James 1:17 ) coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no VARIATION or SHADOW do to change. In short we are to be transformed, not conformed to the worlds ways, which like it or not what tattoos are. GRACE, thanks be to God still prevails so while God may allow a believer to get a tattoo
Question, do you think it's wrong to not uphold every law that's in the OT? Also, if you have a verse that is Biblical, like a verse, you really think that's gonna be associated with the world? I have a friend that has verses as tattoos and they help him start conversations all the time with non christians. He is not being of the world at all just by having a tattoo.
This only shows how much we are not perfect, so let's not judge one another but love one another and thru this example understand that how perfect our savior is!!! As a christian I am not mad at this example because it calls us all out and thats what most Religious persons don't like (look deeper) and lean not onto your own understanding!!! Amen...
I have a tattoo and am a Christian. I love God and my faith cannot be shaken.
Sarah McKay So which verse are you following for getting the tattoo? The Bible says clearly we should follow God’s word. I would like you to share the verse where God has approved of your tattoo?
Lol
God's Child I would like you to tell me where the Bible says we’re supposed to be 100% perfect
Luke Stedifor Here you Go! Matthew 5:48 KJV God Bless
1 Corinthians 6:19
Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;
Respect the Holy Spirit. Lecrae is a great lyricist, but I've been noticing some changes in him lately. God Bless!
That scripture is referring to sexual immorality
@David Puga also, there are more obese people with heart disease and heart related trouble than there are tattooed people in the United States.
Amen. Tattoos are not for Christians
Beautifully explained! Getting my 116 tattoo in a month ❤
New International Version
"'Do not cut your bodies for the dead or put tattoo marks on yourselves. I am the LORD.
That is scripture. Man takes it and interprets there way. scripture is scripture
Even lecrae can get corrected. I would want somebody to correct me just saying
Artie Woods Amen brother. Tattoos are also linked to the occult. This is why it is very dangerous to go off of man's opinion instead of actually reading the Word of God.
***** Not a tattoo. God would never associate with witchcraft. The seal is the Holy Spirit.
Artie Woods Mosaic law! Last time I checked, Jesus fulfilled that law, just saying...
Rusty Marquis Tattoos are still apart of Witchcraft through bloodletting and Shamanism. Galatians 5:19-21
God bless
PREACH IT BROTHER!!!!!!!!!! :) LOVE U LECRAE!
Wow. Nice!
Its true though!!!! Tatoos are not bad at all!
King Ray Please give the verses that prove your point because I don't know of any...
Lacrea hmmmm gettin tattoo is still a sin no matter how you try to put it.....your body is not your own # if you truly believe it.
The old laws are not our laws.
james Ryan "No. nowhere in the bible does it say tattoos through personal expression is a sin. in fact nowhere does it say its a sin to get a tattoo period."
Lev.
***** in the same verse in Leviticus it says that we shouldn't trim our beards or shave our heads...
Connor Ducharme That is referring to Pagan traditions. The tonsure and many other things. It does not change the fact that tattoos are connected to the occult through Shamanism and Bloodletting. Deuteronomy 18:9-12
1 Corinthians 3:16-17.
God Bless
Connor Ducharme that verse is referring to the Levite priests
That's OT & it says in Leviticus 19:27 to grow a beard and hair.
If you don't feel comfortable doing that then don't.

don't.
God Bless
dj13calli
Hi, I agree with you, and I have seen/ witnessed these things with my own eyes...
Jessel Erasquin Amen.That's true.
Martenez Horton Amen! Truth. God Bless Brother.

Justin L exactly! when we forget about how greater our salvation is we go to debate about stupid worthless matters
thank you soo much for posting this! i am soo grateful he broke this down, cause i was readint Lev.19 :28 and i was like okay this is what God is saying but I WANTED SOMETHING MORE THEN JUST THOSE WORDS, AND I love how he broke down the time period and gave that historical backgroud. and it statified my curiousity. i love the ending part.
Amen
+Arvey Nieto Amen
Then get off UA-cam; it’s modern culture
its not a sin. i got my 1st one Saturday. it say Let go let god. and it means alot to me. and shows my testimony
nova if it brings you closer to Jesus dont let people stop you from getting as close to him as you can! I have 3 tattoos and in them is 5 crosses.... so even if my tong denies the lord my body cant.
***** Lol exactly.
God bless.
LovelyKee Amen!
"Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron" 1 Timothy 4:1-2
Amen. Tattoos are not for Soilders of Christ.
I have God tattooed in my Heart! Praise Jesus!
Going by what you are saying then in Revelation 14:1
[ The Lamb and the 144,000 ] Then I looked, and behold, a Lamb standing on Mount Zion, and with Him one hundred and forty-four thousand, having His Father’s name written on their foreheads.
1 John 4 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God
stretch Smith well said sir ...prayer is the only thing that's gonna slow this deceitful man from spreading his lukewarm Godless doctrine.
john segura and you call yourself a Christian? maybe it is yourself that need prayer so you can figure out how to control your pathetic tongue and keep your ungodly judgments to yourself
***** honestly the Scripture you are referring to I believe is saying don't do it in honor of the dead .. but aside from that what you are dealing with I would say is more so a issue of what you already revealed of depression and the wrong way of handling it when it comes
Proverbs 15:13 NIV
A happy heart makes the face cheerful, but heartache crushes the spirit.
I believe by you giving into the depression it simply allows the enemy to crush your spirit and what would keep you from doing it ..and strengthens your flesh to thinking that by cutting yourself (in the moment) it will make you feel better but it only makes it worse ..I have a couple of friends that have had this issue. . But fortunately I can say that it might take a lot out of you to push away but you must understand it's God's strength that will pull you away not your own ...as you try (but you must try) and be consistent to turn to the Lord in prayer, praise, and worship when it gets tough
(if you have someone you can be upfront with and talk to when it gets tough it also could help)..I pray God moves in your life and knocks off thee strongholds of the we enemy off you and heals the whole within you as well
Be blessed
***** Wow, thank you.
***** Thank you again. I will have to look into this. :) Thank God for people like you. Keep shining bright! This world needs your encouraging light.
God Bless
He got it b4 he was saved
Victoria levy Sometimes that doesn't matter, because of Blood covenants. A person can be saved, but still have demons. With tattoos they are blood covenants and sometimes require repentance and praying fervently, asking God to break any demonic covenants that have been made spiritually.
God Bless
True bro
Truth About Tattoos Y'all doing it wrong. You judge the speck but ignore the plank. How can you be saved and have a demon? You ever even read the Bible? It's not what goes in the body but what comes out? A house dived against itself can't stand? I find it hilarious you suggest tattoos are a part of the occult yet probably celebrate Christmas each year that is a converted pagan holiday. I'm sorry my brother but need rebuking. Jesus calls us to save the sinners and we're really going to say we can't because they are evil? Are you no better then pharises at that point?
Leviticus 19:27,28
Ye shall not round the corners of your heads, neither shalt thou mar the corners of thy beard.
Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the LORD.
Leviticus 21:5,6
They shall not make baldness upon their head, neither shall they shave off corner of their beard, nor make any cuttings in their flesh.
They shall be holy unto their God, and not profane the name of their God: for their offerings of the LORD made by fire, and the bread of their God, they do offer: therefore they shall be holy.
Deuteronomy 14:1,2
Ye are the children of the LORD your God: ye shall not cut yourselves, nor make any baldness between your eyes for the dead.
For thou art a holy people unto the LORD hath chosen thee to be a peculiar people unto himself, above all the nations that are upon the earth.
Jeremiah 16:5,6
For thus saith the LORD, Enter not into the house of the mourning, neither go to lament nor bemoan them: for I have taken away my peace from this people, saith the LORD, even loving-kindness and tender mercies.
Both the great and the small shall die in the land: they shall not be buried, neither shall men lament them, nor cut themselves, nor make themselves bald for them:
Neither shall men tear themselves for them in mourning, to comfort them for the dead, neither shall men give them the cup of consolation to drink for their father or their mother.
Amen!
Mathew 5:18,
For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished.
King Ray True dat bruh!
im with you with your 3rd point on down, however i dont think that he is trying to justify the word, i think that he gave historical background about what the word has to say, i think the end part was something that he said for his family personally, but i dont think that he manipulated anything. #just saying. Victory Reign
1 Timothy 1-2
everything and anything , just do what thy whilst, these days, obedience left the building. Jesus commanded us to be obedient and repent, not to justify ungodly ways..
Exactly! May God help us!
Brother Lacrae if U read this I was wondering if it be alright with 116 crew if I get the 11six tatt?
There are different types of commandments in the Scripture. Ceremonial, sacrificial, and moral. Jesus is our sacrifice, the Sacrificial law is done away. Galatians, Jesus, plus many others show how the ceremonial law is done away. The moral law is to be kept. Moral is easily defined as what you do towards God, and what you do towards others, and what you do towards yourself. Tattoos is towards yourself, it is a moral commandment.
Amen.
well explain.
Personally I don’t want one but I have no problem with people who get them (as long as they glorify God).
but at the same time do you keep the food laws in Liviticus 11 and Deut. 14? just a curious question!
I believe it's what you're tattooing on your body, not the concept itself.
quick to* judge you
God doesnt judge appearance?
All I have to say* is I still have GOD's anointing on my life.
But if we all have sinned and fallen short of glory why would you knowingly still sin??
Good Word Mr. Pride
so help me to understand, because we have this discussion among teens in my church a lot.
1 Corinthians 10:23 Not
all things edify.
I can't imagine a Holy Spirit filled believer tattooing. What a load of deception..... Lols
AMEN!
+TruthAboutTattoos what if tattoos didn't require "cutting"
Tattoos are also apart of Shamanism and the occult which is witchcraft. God Bless.
God Bless.
Domingo J its if you are doing it for pegan practice n alot of Christians are not doing
victor negron No my friend, the practice of getting a tattoo is Shamanism which is witchcraft.
+TruthAboutTattoos Thanks and God Bless you too
Like it states For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine.
Sergio Barrera Amen!
You would not deface the Monalisa. WHY would you deface Gods creation witch is more valuable.
Lesley Roberts Yea like Circumcision, it deface what God created.
Lesley Roberts U MISS GRACE OF GOD
noble peter KEEP PREACHING GRACE OF GOD WHICH BOUGHT ALL THINGS BACK FOR GOD'S GLORY. KEEP ENCOURAGING LECRAE WITH HIS GIFTS FOR THE BODY CHRIST. eric from E Africa Tanzania GOD BLESS U Bro
noble peter Circumcision does not deface anything 😂
It actually helps you to be less likely to catch disease and makes it easier to clean.
Its art , and you own your body
Let every body be fully persuaded in his own mind under the guidance and direction of the Holy Spirit.
Lecrae doesn't understand the bible his explanations are wrong and out of context and it reflects in his music lyrically as well...all you can do is pray and over time he'll get more understanding.
+Mario Kerr But think about the amount of people he is misleading with this video? It is so dangerous.
+dj13calli yeah brother your right. lets pray for him, and if he gets more understanding he should make another video about telling why it is a sin
Joey Biets Amen.
+Noah D so it's ok if your intention is not to associate yourselves with pagans
That was my focus, Christ, not issues of legalistic terms.
sorry i clicked reply to the worng person lol but yes i agree with ya bro
Vara Mishkova Hello Vara,
I'm sorry to say, but Lecrae has no idea what he is talking about.
God Bless :)

dj13calli thanks for the offer. Maybe he does maybe he doesn't. I'll def check it out because its very interesting. Thank u!!!
dj13calli I'm with you all the way. I'm shocked that Lecrae actually believes getting tattoos is okay.
Christeen Seebalak Amen. It is sad because he is capable of misleading into sin and inviting demons.

***** thank u I appreciate that, and I'll be looking more into it. :)
tattoos are a form of sacrifices as part of a religion which is definitely not in good terms with God. sacrifice because the pouring out of blood is still used as offering to certain "gods" Jesus shedding his blood for us was enough. No to tattoos.
"You shall not make any cuts on your body for the dead or tattoo yourselves: I am the Lord." (Lev. 19:28)
“Don’t misunderstand why I have come.
Cridious Amen.
The title of the video might as well be called how to justify sin. Was Jesus' body marked with ink? Isn't he our example? wow.
You could say that about anything. Did jesus drive a car? No, isn't he our example? So it's a sin to drive a car.
Cj McDowell
It's SAD; we are to influence the world but it seems like the world influence the church... .One person told me that God actually support tattoos and said it's in the Bible and had an Amen corner by quoting a scripture but when I truly explain it they left her hanging solo.
Cj McDowell And yet, you took the time to click this video, watch and comment. #Hypocrite
Where does this knowledge come from?
Lecrae is twisting the word for his own personal gain. and he's endangering himself may God have mercy on him
That's an opinion.

Leviticus 19:27
Revelation 19:16
Romans 8:9
So you’re saying we shouldn’t live like the world, so we shouldn’t use cell phones? We shouldn’t eat at McDonald’s? We shouldn’t drink Starbucks?
I'm I have mixed feeling about tattoos, But at the same time isn't most of these holiday's . if not are have pagan practices? Also doesn't it not also say that we shouldn't wear certain types of clothing material, also eat certain types of foods? Food with blood? rare meats basically? So what about these practices?
+Monte Martin Brother In Christ, you should look up Pastor David Williams, he has answered a lot of your questions.God Bless
Domingo J thanks I appreciate it ,I will for sure look Him up.

Umm then why did "God" give us laws about the outside if he doesn't care about it? ...waiting.
Random Stuff God doesnt make ugly people
Ashton Smith that was in the old testiment before he died on the cross, so that would mean ur not allowed to eat bacon or pork, and u have to sacrifice animals to give to God
Thank you!
Revelation 19:16 ESV
On his robe and on his thigh he has a name written, King of kings and Lord of lords.
This is the stupidest thing i have ever heard. I wonder who performed the tattoo.
Omg thank you, someone else gets it
OMG, Jesus has a tattoo parlor in heaven. What a joke, I would love to meet the tattoo artist. Does Jesus have an earring too?
Eddie Smith I'm not quite sure the point you are trying to make with your questioning, but let me make this simple. Are you saying Jesus had a Tattoo?
This scripture that he is quoting does not suggest that. The word for Tattoo Qa'aqa is only found once in the Bible where you see it is forbidden.
The Larger point is When the Bible Says you have to Love God with all your heart, He tells us how to love him Keep my commandments. So I love God with all my heart but if it means I got to stop getting tattoos then you got to forgive me on that one Lord???
HE LIE.
He lie to the people.
thank you sir
김세진 He using kjv Levitcus;19,27 and Levitcus;21.5(Deuteronomy;14.1) YAH Love you
***** The KJV is the right bible. But the translation is completely wrong. He just doesn't want to feel bad about the sin he's done in the past. I don't see why he'd care since he's been forgiven of that sin anyway. ( if he is truly saved/born again)
King Ray I read the 1611 kjv ok
we have oversimplified and philosophise the word of God to our level so that we be comfortable with our indescretions...false prophet
And this world as gotten so offended by anything people say. What makes you right?
The origins of tats were about ownership. You marked your property animals slaves ECT. The adversary marks his property too. YAH s mark is on your heart. Tats used to be frowned upon , but are now accepted by most as cool. But what is most misunderstood is the ritual of blood letting. We get deceived into acting out the doctrine of demons. I pray for YAH to open the eyes of his ppl. AMEN.
Tattoos where not God created. Your body must honour God by all your works.
Russel Roberts Shaving tools, toothbrushes, and toothpaste were not God created either.
***** Yeah, but we don't use those things to affiliate with demons. Tattoos are connected to witchcraft through shamanism and bloodletting.
dj13calli so if I were to get a tattoo in memory of my mother, that's considered witchcraft?
***** I understand the innocents of doing such a thing, but yes it is still witchcraft because you're still being apart of a blood ritual no matter what the image is and Tattoo Artist are considered Witchdoctors or Shamans.

Thessalonians 3:14-15
New Living Translation (NLT)
14 Take note of those who refuse to obey what we say in this letter. Stay away from them so they will be ashamed. 15 Don’t think of them as enemies, but warn them as you would a brother or sister
he's completely wrong
+marylou pedro Why do you say that?
Blessings.
i agree with you. I feel the same way. I was purposing the question just to spark thought and conversation. Peace and one love.
I disagree. The Bible say don’t mark up or cut the flesh. Definitely not to represent the dead. Just cuz somebody famous says it’s cool don’t change the Bible. Don’t be sheeple.
God bless you for recording and sharing this
Both Jesus (Matthew 5:17) and Paul (Romans 6) taught that disobedience of moral law is sin.
Adrian Verhalen Then you're carnal and deceived.
well maybe you shoud stop standing on what you think and if you're offended, and read the truth in the bible, and obey! God is Lord
Luc Benoit Amen
God looks at our hearts, what do you get or want to get tattoos for? bc historically, tattoos were done in worship to other gods, that's where the sin is. in idolatry. what is at the heart of it?
Tattoos is apart of a lot of things such as Idolatry and Witchcraft through Cutting the flesh, Bloodletting, and Shamanism. It is demonic and witchcraft is forbidden in the New Testament Galatians 5:19-21
Anyone who has tattoos as a Christian needs to repent and seek the Lord for truth and guidance in Jesus name. God will forgive us when we repent.
God Bless

The Bible says God hates arrogant attitudes.
There is a difference between judging and rebuking, one condemns while the other corrects. A tattoo may or may not be a sin for obvious reasons as some have already stated. Here are some facts about tattoos
1. They can stop a person from getting a life saving MRI
That tattoo may be a reminder of our short comings but it may also remind that the one we are chasing after has no shortcomings
amen! God's ways have never changed! He is the same yesterday, today and forevermore!
Leviticus 19:28
Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the LORD.
sorry lacrae, repent!

and a ti-tetra tattoo...
The scriptures actually state that we are to "reprove & rebuke" one another IF one of us is faking off track (willfully disobeying The Father).
Wow!!!!!!! I am speechless about what I am hearing????!!! Help us Jesus!!
(1 Samuel 15:23)
Let us not justify sin and speak the truth in the name of Jesus.
If you want to say that tattoos are a sin, then please also abide by verse 27 (immediately before the verse that talks about tattoos) and do not,
"Do not cut the hair at the sides of your head or clip off the edges of your beard." If you follow that also, then I definitely respect your your argument.
Thank you for this video. People need to read the entire verse instead of one line.
It's not what goes into the body that defiles it, but what comes out of it!
Thank you 4thecross1.. Your comment came across in a loving peaceful manner indeed.. What you said makes me realize much more.. I really appreciate how you broke it down.. Its Christ speaking through you (:
Is it ok to cut your skin also?
Amen...
