Something that I've been blessed with as of late is a little bit of extra money. And that is in the form of taking care of our neighbor's dog when they travel. I am doing it this weekend I did it a few weekends ago and when they return and they pay me I'm able to put that towards groceries and that has definitely helped us out. We do the same thing if we travel we also pay our neighbor to take care of our animals.

Bonita. My experience is a little different. My job always gave me a sense of accomplishment now that I work park time I feel overwhelmed with the things I’ve neglected with my home. I so admire your attitude as far as looking forward to the things you need to get done.

We had 6 consecutive months of unplanned expenses in '22 and another two which were less consequential by year end. Early on we began beefing up our account buffers while creating an unplanned expense slush fund; this slush fund is what made the extra 2 months inconsequential. Things have evolved a little differently since then and after paying bills by the early part of the month, we low spend during the month as much as possible, then effectively create a spending, szving, set-aside plan based budget with what is left over.

I think my husband and I will both work on projects in retirement. And I think he will always do something during the retirement years. It makes him feel good to be busy. But he also knows how to relax as well.

The scenario you're saying about happened with our neighbors as well. He retired. He had some heart issues and needed to stop working. But his wife chose to work just a couple more years because if she does work at the current place where she's employed for just those two more years than they will have really good health insurance moving into their retirement.

I'm glad you brought up about your bodies and how they change. And clothing. I've kind of come to that determination myself that really how my body is right now maybe the way that it is moving forward. Because of my health issues I am only able to get a bit of exercise at a time. Some days I don't feel well enough to really do anything. Sometimes I can only go for a walk once in a week or once every couple of weeks. Something that my mother-in-law blessed me with was an exercise peddler. I can sit in a chair put on a show and pedal for half an hour or so and that also helps me to burn some calories. though I've dropped about 20 lb I'm really not dropping anymore at this point and I'm not overeating I haven't really changed anything. So if I do lose some more great if I don't great but I still feel like sometimes when I'm looking in my closet there are things that I should probably just donate. To accommodate things that I really can't fit into. And I'm 56 going to be 57 in December Honestly like you said how many of something do I need

My late father-in-law was a fire chief on an army base, he opted for early retirement at 50 years old. He would get a pension of course moving forward. He ended up passing away in 2016. So my mother-in-law now lives off that money but when he retired he did not sit at home. He did part-time pressure washing, painting. You really never saw him not doing something. My husband is very much the same way. But that extra income was what my father-in-law called their fun money they used to travel or even to eat out.

We are half coupled. lol Im working part time and he is still working full time. Although, my job ended at the end of summer and Im now searching for a replacement, pt job. In the meantime, we are planning, planning, planning for the day when we are both fulltime retired. Thus me joining and watching copious amounts of retirement videos by people with lower incomes. I think we will be fine, but Im determined to get our condo paid for (about 2 years), all of our house projects done, a decent back up car fund saved and our summer RV paid for before we both walk. We have our ER fund and we are used to living on lower income for our entire lives. So I dont think its going to be a huge adjustment like for most.

Yeah, I hadn't really thought of that, you definitely did get an extended summer. To go to a warm weather climate for a few months and then to come back home for the other few months made it nice. You definitely did get half a year of summer, LOL
