My mums gran had a pet monkey here in the uk years ago, and my mum said it was a terrifying little thing that would swoop down and pry their mouths open when they visited, checking for food.
You would assume that with all the diseases they carry, that alone would make people think twice before owning one. The first words out of the owners mouth after getting bit or attacked is " I wonder what happened " or " they never bit me before". I'm going to assume they forgot to read the part where it says, "When monkeys reach puberty, experts warn that they will become extremely aggressive and unpredictable" And yet with all those warnings coming from professionals, there they are making family videos with their children. What happened to your neighbors monkey? Did he/she have to get rid of it?
These wild animals are beautiful and belong free to live...not as pets!! And on UA-cam channels the cameraman saying they are filming to show how they live should all be taken down!!! They feed them to cause trouble in the troop and to manipulate them to pose for their filming... Reporting them does nothing which is upsetting in itself
That’s because the monkeys are in a TOURIST HOTSPOT. You ignorantly blaming the cameramen, is silly. In all reality, the tourists, THE MONKS, visitors and the cameramen are ALL to blame. People specifically go to these parks to see and feed the monkeys. Of course, “reporting them on UA-cam” doesn’t do any good. It’s laughable that you thought it would. Correct. Humans are the _only_ primate that has voluntary bowel and bladder control. Non-human primates don't even know they they "have to go" until it's already coming out of them. And, when they get agitated, scared, upset, etc. - they just poop immediately.
@John_Weiss I can't stand how the Home Movie Monkeys are filmed on the toilet where they were placed and idiots will post " how smart, how they Love the monkeys, etc
You mean because they are so much less violent and disgusting then humans? It's really ironic you say what you are, because you are part of a species (humans) , that rape and pillage their own, cause our own genocide, animals know better than to rape their own offspring but humans don't . These monkeys will defend their children and any other monkeys babies to the death. They will nurse and stay by and take care of their babies no matter what. I've watched countless garbage ass people neglect their children, choose drugs over them, hell I've seen people sell their children . Think about what you are even saying. Because your blood has something in it called the rhesus factor. Google it. It is unpredictable proof that we absolutely are related, and that we have had a common ancestor . That is able to be proven.
The people who are supposed to be protecting these endangered animals have all been arrested for being the most corrupt people against them. Instead of protecting them they were selling and trading them they still are . They don't care about these animals but to make money from them . There will be some point when we are looking at these animals in books in picture's sad but true
Well who could seen that coming or believe it would? Corruption in a agency government or non-government empowered to protect the vulnerable. Wonder why that seems to be, becoming more prevalent.
I think you left out some of the most common behaviors that can make monkeys hard to manage. They are always eating, sleeping, biting, and throwing poo. In addition, they have some rather interesting sexual practices. I've been around a lot of pet monkeys of various species in the 1960s and 1970s. They are quite trying at times.

Realy really love monkeys I love watching them displaing their acrobatic skills on tiny branches of trees, they are indeed adorable specially baby mokeys and yearlings but they are wild and stay wild they truly belong to the wild forest their comfort zone.
I feel the same way they are awesome to see in their own environment but to see the videos with owners trying to make them people is not cute I see some confusion and loneliness in them
I find their intelligence level and capacity to understand and do things in our world remarkable. But that doesn’t mean we can or should keep them as pets. In fact, their intelligence must create so much stress and depression when they are forced to live in our world; especially when they are eventually abandoned back into the wild for which human ego and exploitation as made them unfit for.
Also a husky will not; give you a possible lethal disease by just touching them, need to forever wear a diaper because the filthy traits wired into its barely functional brain tells it to lay in your shat, lick up your piss, will not aggressively attack you when one years old as it wants to have sexual relations with you and especially your children, fondle itself all the time, Be constantly clinging to you and have seizure- like tantrums when it does not get its way and constantly make ear piercing squeals, screeches and whooping ng noises that make you want to literally tear it apart, will not suck its penis continuously, will not try and rip food from your mouth, will not savagely attack you for no reason, and Huskies are not the filthiest, savage, destructive four legged creature on the planet that so many mentally challenged people say this extremely mentally challenged creature is intelligent.
This is absolute truth! I really understood where they were coming from when I started watching monkey world. All these people are putting in efforts to stop the trades and bad people are just looking at the dollar signs. Kudos to everyone like me who would love to have a monkey, but realize it’s the wrong choice for everyone.
Monkeys stink. Who in the world wants to diaper these things, clean feces out of their butt and their hair. This is for the entire time you own them. Oh no! They are nasty as a pet, period. Once they hit puberty, that's when they get aggressive and it's an awful responsibility. A couple had a grown one that became aggressive where he could no longer get him out of his cage. He stated Insurance Company he had which was State Farm would not insure his house/property. They told him even though he kept his monkey in a steel cage they were too dangerous for them to ìnsure. I would never carry such a liability.
Not everyone but you and most others. Some in other countries have kept monkeys as working pets for generations. They keep them in the climate they are accustomed to and feed them food they would naturally eat. I'm not talking about UA-camrs but people that don't bother making video clips. The west has probably done more damage using these monkeys for experimentation for research. Even the UA-camrs are using western services and mostly making money from people in the west that have enough free time to watch those videos. Of course we only want to look at the world through our eyes and force everyone else to do the same. The truth is that we're the damn problem and always have been.
@@janiceken5639 The mystic belief that monkey parts have healing qualities and for meat probably usurps the number of research animals, but not by much. So, the East has their blame in it too!
Your half right. The half that makes your observation half wrong is. Your belief that Individual's keeping them as pets or members of the family. Are incapable of caring for monkey's as well as Monkey World if at all. I so highly disagree! And these comments about it being only about the money. Yes, for the criminals that exploit and abuse them. It is. So the the answer to this problem with exploration and abuse. Is to turn the carrying nurturing, loving monkey pet owner's into criminal's. That not got to put an end to the problem. That's only going to make it more profitable to be in the illegal pet monkey trade. Nice going!
The real friend for Humans is since 40000years the dog. Monkey is our relative and no pet. Of course, a monkey living for 20 years or longer in a circus family can't return to the wilderness and they are at home between their human family, but it is right to forbid taking them for pets.
How do you domesticate an animal? You keep it under your control for repeated generations. And I hate to tell you, but their are bloodlines that are absolutely domesticated
Nancy Testani I agree with you. They are wild and it eventually comes out. I would not put up with all the biting, they stink so bad no matter how much you wash them & around puberty they tend to become aggressive. You can't keep them inside your home locked up in cages by themselves. They aren't meant to be kept in a solitary environment & much stronger than humans which makes them hard to control. I love big cats but I would not even think about it. It's selfish to keep a wild animal from the way they were meant to live. People most of the time don't conform to the right diet either. Some monkeys have a very long life span, so who would be crazy enough to take that on besides a sanctuary or rescue. I wouldn't take on the responsibility of having a monkey get loose and hurt or even kill someone. There are Insurance Companies that won't insure people with a pet monkey either. They are considered dangerous!
Thank you for shedding light on the ethical implications of monkey ownership. It's crucial that potential pet owners are informed about these challenges
The most famous case, Travis the Chimp, was caused by incorrect drug use. Let me explain. Travis was suffering from all of the usual psychological problems of being kept in captivity … by himself, with no others or his kind. So he was already depressed and stressed. His owner decided to give him something to clean him down - Xanax. Slight Problem: in _humans,_ Xanax an anti-anxiety sedative. But in chimps, Xanax is an hallucinogen. Instead of calming Travis, he was a stressed chimp on the equivalent of a bad acid trip. Which is why he freaked out and attacked that woman.
These people all they keep showing is those poor babies non stop getting baths and now they are putting lotions to try covering up their smell . But the saddest part of the bathing is the torture of the bath when alot of these people use freezing cold water and pour it on them and get soap in their eyes. Then there is the standing up and walking on their two back legs . The Monster monkey abuser I seen videos of her holding the monkeys from their feet over the balcony also in straight jackets with their hands and arms tied up and she will hold them upside down and beat their faces the. Puts them down and as they are trying to get up she pushes or kicks them down. I seen her bite one of the baby monkeys feet so hard It screamed so badly it was rolling around in major pain it was horrible. She had one tied up with a ton of live black snakes at its feet and legs and it was screaming and crying from the torture. God bless us 🙏 🙌 all
Baby monkeys are drama queens. Just like a human toddler that's been let go without discipline. Bad monkey or bad human, it's all about the raising and the proper balance of discipline.
We live in a fallen world, were some are fueled by inflicting horror, long suffering, pain and terror on other innocent living creatures. This well always be with us, that's why I see no reason not to subject the guilty to the same type of punishment. In an effort to deter others with the same inclination.
@@traceydeviney Macaques are an invasive species, far from innocent. They literally embody every detestable trait that humans are supposed to overcome with civilization. They should have their untouched habitat, but they should also be terminated with extreme prejudice should they wander.
It seems the majority, if not all your viewers, already agree monkeys should not be pets and know more about primate behavior than those who keep pet monkeys. That's not really spreading the word unfortunately. That seems to always be the way things go.
I'm sorry but if someone was watching this to decide weather or not to get a pet monkey you really didn't give good enough reasons or examples to deter them atleast showing some captive monkeys displaying behavior that shows its stress would have been a little helpful
Primates, big cat (lions, tigers, etc.), and big snakes shouldn't be pets! If one needs rescued, go for it but contact a rescue center that specializes in rescues. My cousin (years ago) had a capuchin that he raised from a baby. He was adorable then grew up and attacked my aunt. She had to have reconstructive surgery on her face. Fortunately, she was fine later but it was a hard road for her.
It makes me sick watching monkeys especially in Asian countries dressing them in dipers clothes making them walk bipedal giving them food what they shouldn't have making money filiming them and then dumping them when they grow and are not cute anymore and they don't have a clue what to do in the wild so often die or are killed by other monkey troops should be stopped so cruel
Wonderful video. I see a lot of people on u tube with tiny pet monkeys. It’s not fair to the baby monkeys. Where do they get these tiny baby monkeys. Then they dress them up in clothes
And this goes f or ALL monkey owners, even the "beloved" ones based in America. So many think it's so 'cute' and 'lovely' to see these capuchin monkeys kept as pets, when they belong in the wild.
@@cyberessa That’s one & how unfortunate cause it’s still no cure for it. It’s absolutely no excuse possible to justify the abuse & torture of these animals for experiments. Millions of humans die every yr from complications from HIV so it’s obvious that’s not working.
@@missmiami7027 yep. HIV is definitely one of them. Many of those monkeys gave their lives so that gay lives could be saved. If you’re against monkey test labs, you’re basically saying you’re homophobic. Are you homophobic?
Let’s not forget about the dark ugly world of MONKEY HATERS! People who pay to see small or baby monkeys being abused- even telling handlers what specific type of abuse they want to see done to them- the more horrific the higher the price. It’s obvious these people have some very serious issues, and since monkeys are so small it’s not a long stretch to say these people could also abuse children. This sick group of people also include in it- WOMEN!! It makes my soul sick 🤢
I agree with all you say. When some of the most horrific comments come from women, from what we would regard as civilized countries where we understand animal abuse, its shocking to think these horrible females might have children.
Dark side is you have to put diapers on them and change it at least once a day and wash their butt it’s not that bad when they are babies but a grown up nty
Apes aren't monkeys. It always peeves me to see clips of orangutans and other apes in videos about monkeys. It would be like making a video on foxes and throwing in shots of dogs with no explanation or context.
Hi there! Thanks for watching our video about primates! We appreciate your feedback, and we totally understand your concern. We definitely want to make sure we're using accurate terminology when talking about animals. We have plenty of other videos featuring various animals, so be sure to check them out! We hope you enjoy them.
This looks like a never ending debate. . . . like smoking tobacco vs non smokers. But I am throwing in some ideas to ponder on: Many owners of house pets, subjected to a psycological test, won't qualify to keep even dogs or cats. Nevermind apes or monkeys. Then, some dogs, like working dogs or guard dogs, are just that -working dogs or guard dogs. Not pets to be cuddled up in an apartment. Those monkeys kept to scale trees in order to pick coconuts. . . .to me. . . .are like working dogs. They seem to be well looked after. A few, very few, owners can afford to keep monkeys and they do it well. I don't want to steal their joy and pleasure. Live, and let live. There are elephants, water buffalo, parrots, tigers, snakes, crocodiles, turtles, aquarium fish, etc, etc, etc kept to do work, to amuse or to provide companionship. None domesticated, but they are (debateable) becoming more and more part of the human environment. Now then, why only focus on monkey owners and keep mum about ALL cratures taken out of their natural and decining environments ?
It is so sad that people are now cutting off what little tails the short tailed monkeys already have just to make it easier for them to put a diaper on them . Then the poor babies are so much in pain because they zero protecting their anus area the poor things can't sit down from the pain so they always have to be balanced upright . These animals are not pets in any way shape or form.
Monkeys should never become pets. Unfortunately multiple American UA-camrs with pet monkeys have convinced many of their audiences that getting a pet monkey is something that is doable and leads to a 'better' life for the monkey than in the wild. These UA-camrs and their fans are selfish people who think they know what's best for their monkeys even as their pets show serious signs of mental illness. It really is sickening.
So these monkeys are highly intelligent animals, but yet will lash out at the hand that feeds by biting or scratching the host; do you think these highly intelligent animals could join the dots from it biting you to having it's right hand amputated at wrist level?
Considering the fact that a Macaque has to wear a diaper it's whole life as you cannot house break them...yet my raccoon not only used the toilet but flushed it. Dumber than a sack of sand applies to many of them.
@@drakemcfee9138 you give them much, way too much compliments; that's why they dress them in such outlandish costumes, so nobody will forget which 0ne is which. Fucking should be content to wear a white rope with ever shrinking red circles an let loose in a gun range.
You know the exact same analogy can be applied also to even the most common pets. As far as breeding practices and expense of feeding and care. Pet's in alot of ways are like children. There are just some kids you can't stand being around.
No, you can’t. Monkeys are not domesticated- which is a process of selective breeding that takes decades and several generations. There is no such thing as a domesticated monkey. You cannot compare that to cats and dogs.
No, it isn't. These are illegal to own. Some breeds are endangered. Expense has nothing to do with it. Most vets aren't even trained to care for them. It requires special training. They are not common, domesticated animals.
No Monkeys can't be controlled after a year old. They must be cages +diapers forever. They need lots of space or go nuts. Destroy the home-kill other pets-hurt humans-throw poop. The house stinks 24/7. People did a documentary on monkey owners. They all had to give them up bc they hit and bite. And you must be w them 24/7
What do you mean jumping on the bandwagon? This video is from over a year ago. It has NOTHING to do with the recently confiscated WILD ENDANGERED animals.
I can’t imagine why anyone would want these disgusting and gluttonous things as pets. Get a dog or cat or even a rat. Rats are smart and make good pets.

It seemed more humane than our official slaughter process in the UK. They also ate every last bit.
Depends on the type of monkeys you keep as a pet. The key is to get a small monkey that remains small. Get it as a baby so it grows up knowing you as their parental figure and provider, have plenty of income for various expenses. Show your pet monkey plenty of love and care and appropriate discipline and you'll be good to go. ❤
I find myself having to agree. But just because some people don't realize what their getting themselves into, really with any animal. Shouldn't prevent those who actually really do realize.
I don't have a monkey! But if some one is responsible and knows how to take care of them and give them the love and attention they need. I have not right to stop them and neither do you. Just because their are people out there abusing these monkeys that doesn't give you the right to stop those who don't abuse them from having one. That's no different from stopping people from adopting children. Because some people abuse their own children, let alone an adopted one. Abuse happens with animals and humans. All you have to do is enforce laws already in place to stop the abuse. But that's not going to get read of the abuse. Criminal 's ignore the law. But the answer is not turning everyone into a Criminal.
@@traceydeviney I agree but it needs to be legal. I can’t help but feel if we could live together perhaps there would be a higher regard for the animals. And they could really be a help to the handicapped and elderly. All efforts to domesticate have bred mentally disturbed animals. Incorrect. Once they reach sexual maturity they can and will become aggressive. You will have to have a sturdy cage to keep it in. That is why sanctuaries are full. Also, they are not happy as babies in clothing & diapers and they are not supposed to walk on two legs. This is animal cruelty. They are not bipedal animals and it hurts their spine. Diapers displace their hips. Clothing keeps them from grooming which is a psychological necessity. You would be the one needing shots as monkeys carry the B virus and if scratched or bitten it is possible it will transmit to you.

That's the reason why I don't believe monkeys as our cousins
They aren't, apes are.
Monkeys are not human like
Thank you for getting the word out.

Get a husky pup if you need a pet that gives you drama love stress laughter and a true loyal pet ... that won't throw poop
Also a husky will not; give you a possible lethal disease by just touching them, need to forever wear a diaper because the filthy traits wired into its barely functional brain tells it to lay in your shat, lick up your piss, will not aggressively attack you when one years old as it wants to have sexual relations with you and especially your children, fondle itself all the time,
Be constantly clinging to you and have seizure- like tantrums when it does not get its way and constantly make ear piercing squeals, screeches and whooping ng noises that make you want to literally tear it apart, will not suck its penis continuously, will not try and rip food from your mouth, will not savagely attack you for no reason, and Huskies are not the filthiest, savage, destructive four legged creature on the planet that so many mentally challenged people say this extremely mentally challenged creature is intelligent.
Amen
a husky is a beautiful animal.

I love big cats
but I would not even think about it. Thank you for shedding light on the ethical implications of monkey ownership. It's crucial that potential pet owners are informed about these challenges
I know chimps get very stubborn as they get older, several cases where they chewed the faces off the owners faces.
I would describe chewing off faces as more extreme than stubborn
Chimps are apes not monkeys. Monkeys are disgusting.
Believe it or not capuchins can still cause just as much damage by biting, severing fingers, enough to put one in a hospital and need stitches

This looks like a never ending debate. . . . like smoking tobacco vs non smokers.
But I am throwing in some ideas to ponder on:
Many owners of house pets, subjected to a psycological test, won't qualify to keep even dogs or cats.
None domesticated,
but they are (debateable) becoming more and more part of the human environment. Now then, why only focus on monkey owners and keep mum about ALL cratures taken out of their natural and decining environments ?

They are respectable animals, which are in need of a natural environment to clumb, jump and live their life and not being dressed, bathed and fed luke a toddler, neither from a diasabled nor from a non-disabled person.
Rats are not cute at all.
This video was Not very informative For either side of the spectrum I could have For either side of the spectrum I could have added so many more points
AND THEY SURE AS HELL ARE NOT CUTE EXCEPT FOR THE PIGTAIL BABIES 😁
We're sorry to hear that you didn't find the monkeys cute, but we hope you'll give our other videos a chance. Who knows, you might just find something else that catches your eye!
Monkeys make great pets! No animal is domesticated until it is. You Karen's are all crazy. I have 2 pet monkeys. And they re awesome.
I'm glad to hear that you're enjoying having pet monkeys, but it's important to note that while some people may choose to keep monkeys as pets, it's not a good idea for most people. Monkeys require specialized care and can pose health and safety risks, both to themselves and their owners. So, before getting a pet monkey, it's important to do thorough research and consider whether it's a good fit for your lifestyle and living situation. In the meantime, feel free to check out some of our other videos!
@@animal_odyssey I agree with you 100% if someone isn't willing or able to put in the time and effort with them then they probably don't need a monkey. They aren't like dogs at all people. And though we share similar characteristics, they are not like human children either. They are their own animal so to speak.
Congratulations on being a 2 pet monkey successful care giver! Showing that its not as impossible as the Anti Pet Monkey Agenda wants to make everyone believe. And in the process turning outstanding monkey pet owner's, like you and many others. Into hated and despised criminals fugitives, running from the law.
I got a big kick out of @animalodyssey709 patronizing response to you. As if you could really use that advice.
