MONKEY MUM Pinky Janota is raising six monkeys at her home - and even dresses them up. The 53-year-old owns three rescued Rhesus Macaques, one Bonnet and two Marmosets monkeys, all with with names influenced by cosmetic brands including; Maybelline, L’Oreal, Avon and Max. The primates have all proved the truth behind the phrase ‘monkey see, monkey do’ by mimicking their owner’s behaviour. Pinky spends her days teaching her monkey kids sign language, feeding them on a high chair, changing their diapers, bottle feeding them and bathing them.

You know what, I don’t see anyone else caring for and loving these animals as much as this woman. Who gives a damn if she’s treating them like babies? At least they’re not being abused or neglected. She’s giving up a hell of a lot for these animals all out of the kindness of her heart.

Because I know for a fact some of those monkeys that she had placed with her, came from places where they do cosmetic testing on the monkeys and Max I remember when Pinky first got him he was a hot mess, that is why these monkeys all have the cosmetic names.. This lady and her husband have a emergency animal shelter, and animal shelter.. She puts the animals needs first before her owns.. Just to save that animal.. And this woman really doesn't ask for much really. I admire her and her husband a great deal!! So yes THEY "ROCK"!!
Their (the monkeys) needs is not to be costumed, chained to a baby's seat, and petted like a house pet. What they need is not to live in a house, but, in a natural habitat, native to their *needs*. I assumed they always listen to 'Closer' from Nine Inch Nails, and, 'Shock the Monkey,' from Peter Gabriel. Because, what I saw in that baby's chair was was very similar to the video 'Closer.'

Jerry Godsey Jerry I can agree to disagree with you.. The monkey tied to the cross in NIN's "Closer" video was "tied" down actually I'm gonna say 4 point restraint (his arms, and legs and belly).. The face that lil monkey was making was a distressed or stressed face when they show their teeth like that... Now as I remember majority of the monkeys Pinky got.. Max, Lo'real, Maybelline all came from a testing facility - where they did testing on them.. and I doubt these monkeys never saw light of day or known what freedom was like to do what they do now when they were housed just to have cosmetic ingredients applied to their little monkey baby faces.. also I think Max's mom was on a failed birth control and he was severely abused in the facility where he came from. Hence this is why their cosmetic names came about!! But as far as the monkey scooting the high chair over to the other monkey.. These animals if they were to go from being caged and tested for cosmetic ingredients, and when the agency has no use for them or (like Max's way of arriving through failed birth control which happens alot in those type of facilities also) these animals would probably be dead somewhere in another testing facility.. the only freedom they had was the air that they breathed.. So
these little girls and guy have the life.. Yes some people are entitled to their opinion.. monkeys these type of monkeys can be kept as companions or a "pet" more like these animals are very intelligent they mimic us in a way.. People put clothing on their dogs (sweaters and sweatshirts) Chihuahua's, mini pinchers.... Also too the Marmoset (which they call a "pocket monkey", to me don't even look like a monkey more like a cross between a ginnie pig and farrett on stariods)..

When you purchase food for your pet, aren't you 'testing' to see if they will eat it or not? Or do you just throw onions on the ground and just say "Eat this." Do you not go to specific vets and not that guy down the road who will fix your muffler. Tests. Everything is a test.

When I worked there, the monkeys had a section of a shed that had been barred in with modular cyclone fencing. The area was about the size of a bedroom and had children's toys, a small table, chairs, and an actual crib. The owner was really into treating them as children, most of the time to the point it prevents them from any type of natural life.
So much hard work! So glad these babies were saved. ❤❤

What kind and loving people. Like she said she didn’t do this, she just stepped up and rescued them once the novelty wore off for the selfish people who purchased/adopted them in the first place. What this lady and her husband are doing is a selfless, respectful, generous and loving act. If it wasn’t for people like them these poor babes lives would have been more devastating then they already were. You couldn’t even put them band in the wild because they wouldn’t be accepted by another troop and they were never taught how to forage and be self sufficient in anyway, they are dependent on humans just thankfully they are with the right humans now!

Little monkeys who will grow in to big monkeys that become unmanagable also it is not fair on the primates for lots of reasons there is lots of research out there by experts why don't you go read it ? instead of living in the twilight zone these monkeys live more than 30 yrs so will most likely outlive her why don't people be realistic
I think you are a wonderful lady. Ignore any criticism. You have given these monkeys a loving home, wonderfully cared for, and everyone can see how happy they are. You rescued them from an abusive life, and you deserve only praise. Your husband is also very involved and caring. Wonderful family. Long may you continue. Just Wondering she's nursing a lot back to health and they will survive better if kept warm and fed round the clock. Sounds like she is doing the best she can for them with only a few hands. I see she does have places they swim on ropes and things that mimic strengthening their muscles. She may have other places for them too. This was short video and she could only show what she could. She's being a kind person to innocent animals that were ripped from their mothers arm to be sold and treat badly by some no good people.I thank her very much for what she does for them.

My life is similar, I have 21 pets adopted dogs/cats. I adopted them from streets....I can’t have a social life, it’s difficult but I love to take care of them 😍😍😍
We've done the same for 28 years. In the early 2000s we hit a high of 18 dogs, 5 cats, 4 birds and 2 sugar gliders. Currently down to 5 dogs, 5 cats, 2 birds and a horse.

No, actually humans are distinctively different from primates and evolution is not a correct view of how humans came into being. For example, the body is a complex system of organs that needed to work together from day 1. What good would a lung be without the heart, brain, nervous system, blood supply, immune system, etc? It all had to be there simultaneously. The idea that nothing created everything is a scientific impossibility

Sanctuaries do not dress them as human babies, nor keep them indoors. They live as close to nature as possible, not the opposite !

Obviously you didn't watch the whole vid bc she says she puts the clothes on so they don't take their dippers off and she puts dippers on so they don't poop every where. And she let's them outside. Next time watch the whole vid before you judge them and you are not part of their life so is isn't realy non of your concern.they are well looked after ok.

I wish there was a way to stop the poachers. Overseas they are treated badly and disposed. They are beautiful bright beings who deserve a good life.

Reading some of the negative comments here is absolutely ridiculous. I agree animals should not be kept in captivity but unfortunately the reality is that there ARE animals in captivity and irresponsible people are at fault BUT this woman and her husband are doing what no else will for these wonderful beings. Pinky and her husband are putting the animal’s needs first before their own to make sure the animals are happy using the resources they have. If it brother’s you that much to the point where you feel like you need to make a judgmental comment, instead, why don’t you ask Pinky where you could send suggestions and maybe even donations her way to further improve the well being of the animals in her care. Otherwise, if you’re not going to do anything to make a change for the better or show support, then look the other way and continue being debris in the life you currently have.
