The first sixty seconds let me know that this film was going to be a cut above the other two. Definitely one of the strongest starts to a film I've ever seen.
I remember watching this as a kid the day it came out in theaters. When I saw the Republic cruiser glide across the screen and heard the drums, I instantly pictured the entire clone army stomping to the beat inside. Good times...
I remember when the Ep III main theme started playing in the movie theather and I thought, "woow." Then I saw episode 7 and the main theme started and I thought, "What? This is not strong."
I was with friends watching TFA on opening day, and commented that TFA's intro felt "weaker and the music had less punch". That basically made me a bit uneasy until I had to play this intro and the new one side by side, coming out of the theater. Felt like I was on crazy pills.
Exactly! As someone who's pretty deep into the music of star wars, i was so disappointed when seeing TFA the first time. There was no power in the score :(
Luis Humanoide What you are hearing is the main title recorded for The Phantom Menace done at Abbey Road Studios in London. Good mixing and acoustics, and it is the saturation and compression and harmonic distortion when recorded on 24 track analog tape
STAR WARS EPISODE III REVENGE OF THE SITH War! The Republic is crumbling under attacks by the ruthless Sith Lord, Count Dooku. There are heroes on both sides. Evil is everywhere. In a stunning move, the fiendish droid leader, General Grievous, has swept into the Republic capital and kidnapped Chancellor Palpatine, leader of the Galactic Senate. As the Separatist Droid Army attempts to flee the besieged capital with their valuable hostage, two Jedi Knights lead a desperate mission to rescue the captive Chancellor.
This brings back so many memories when I was a little kid and I would always play LEGO Star Wars: the complete saga and I am a very big Star Wars fan now And my favorite Star Wars movie is attack of the clones
*Corusant: A Desperate Rescue* "As the Clone Wars progressed, more and more ground-based legions found themselves pressed into space combat, including the fighting forces of the 501st. For months, every hour of our downtime was spent in the simulator, preparing for the time we would face our enemies from the cockpit of a 170." "Finally the day came to earn our wings. The CIS had staged a daring kidnapping of Chancellor Palpatine, and was being escorted from Coruscant by a fleet of Separatist ships. With only a few veteran pilots on-planet, many of the 501st were pressed into service to drive off the Seps, and buy time for a pair of Jedi Knights to rescue the Chancellor."
is anyone else able to listen to this music only and know whats happening in the movie at that particular moment .... e.g 2:58 "we're on your tail general kenobi ... set s foils in attack position"
the fading into wardrums must've been one of the best moments in cinematic history. For all of the prequels flaws, revenge of the sith did manage to bring back a true feel of cinema to the franchise.
Anakin: This is where the fun begins Obi-Wan: Flying is for droids! *Obi-Wan ten minutes later after crashing the Invisible Hand* : Another happy landing
I was very pleased with this being the actual film version, until 6:44 at which point Anakin says "Sorry, master" and there's a couple seconds of this ominous horn as he blasts the shields on Invisible Hand and they enter the snake pit. But it's removed here.
A pair of starfighters. Jedi starfighters. Only two. Two is enough. Two is enough because the adults are wrong, and their younglings are right. Though this is the end of the age of heroes, it has saved its best for last.

I bought the soundtrack CD the day it was released in 2005 and for 14 years it’s bothered me how much this track was butchered on it. Instead of the drums, they sloppily edited in the music from when the clones show up in the middle of Grevious and Obi-Wan’s duel on Utapau. Thank you SO MUCH for uploading the REAL version! But where did you get it?!?!?
I could have sworn when this soundtrack was first released the main title, instead of drowning out, ended with a blaring brass hit going right into the force theme instead of the drums
The BEST opening to ANY Star Wars movie!!!
BigGeek2256
Even the force Awakens opening is pretty weak.
BigGeek2256, I agree with you.
I doubt any future Star Wars film could top this opening
That theme gives me goosebumps everytime
Palpatine McSenateFace
Thank you 🙏!
That’s what I have been telling everyone.
The drums after the main theme are so awesome. It would be absolutely badass if they were the spawn theme for the Republic in BFII.
ImThinkingRiffy it actually is lol
*Barrel Rolls into a battle*
Holy shiet, that's GENIUS idea
Wish I had seen that movie back there in the theaters. Hope it will be back in the cinemas for an 20th anniversary XD
Master John Williams must never leave us.
I am Harriet star wars then speedpaint youtube
Agreed, he has made many great music and that lives on.
Strong he is with the Force, but not that strong... that is the way of things ... the way of the Force.
Did John Williams passed away?
*Their Communications Relay has been destroyed*
*Score one for the Republic!*
Yes yes yes yes yes yes
Immanis you are my new best friend
XD I love it dude
Immanis Just like the simulations.
Love that
You know you’re a total badass when you can hear all the sound effects and dialogue instinctively as you listen to this.

Anakin: "Lock onto him, R2. Master, General Grievous' ship is dead ahead. The one crawling with vulture droids."
Obi-Wan: "Oh I see it. This is going to be easy."

1: mute music in EA Battlefront 2
2: Start space battle
3: play this
Dude with the Tunes you forgot Force Arena
Doesn't it play on the Ryloth map?
@Jackson Pavlich So that's the scene it's from. I remember hearing it but i wasn't sure which movie or scene.
Try not to die immediately and rage quit
or play the original/good battlefront 2 it has it in the space battles.

The best Star Wars Theme opening hands down.

Gary Tomás Constanza Martinez “Oh I see, Oh this is going to be easy!”
"Oddball, do you copy?"
CoDAlvar007 “Mark my position, form your squad up behind me.”
"We're on tour tail, general Kenobi !"

It always annoyed me that in the soundtrack they removed the war drums like that is the best part
AGREED.
The drums are there
And they cut that entire "bridge" between the crawl and the battle
@@Farmboyspence no they arnt lol on the ofishal soundtrack it starts later its like that in the cd vershon too

Pretty much every SW movie has a weaker opening score than Episode III, you can’t beat it. I wouldn’t put any particular blame on TFA
Agreed. Williams lost it in the newest ones.
1:22 this are one of the last heartbeats of Anakin Skywalker
"The one with the drum on the beginning" this description is... Perfect
the war drums sound like the heartbeat of the Republic. They symbolize the Republic's willingness to stay strong and never give up.
5:50 I remember hearing this track in Battlefront 2005
CLEAR THE HANGER AREA! REPEAT! CLEAR THE HANGER AREA!
This song was played in the game Star Wars: The Old Republic, it felt awesome listening to it when playing as a Jedi Knight against a Sith Lord.

Its the best movie, obviously
I love this music. Greatest opening ever. Oh, and I love your profile picture and header. You've captured my two favorite fandoms at once.
My favorite Star Wars movie and soundtrack! Great editing job!
It's official, the prequel trilogy was ahead of it's time compared to what we got. "Help us George Lucas, you're our only hope."
