Camera defaults to the rear view when put in Reverse because the screen is bigger, you can see what is behind you better, touch the button by your right hand to see 360, quick and easy. Most people, most of the time want to know what is behind us when putting it into reverse and backing up.
Just bought a signature 2020 three weeks ago for 34,100, plus 2 years free maitinece. Pros: love the power, especially on sports mode when accelerating to 60 mph. The interior is next level, nothing feels cheap. The bose speakers are nice with center point. Coming from an accord while not as spacious I think room is still satisfying, and elevated by quality of the interrior. Overall the car feels confident. Love the exterior!! Rims! And Awd! Cons: No door handle sensors for keyless entry on top trim ( should be standard) only a push button on door. No key remote engine start, had one installed but feels outdated and mobile start isn't compatible with 2020. No wireless charging or Wi-Fi hot spot. The tech is satisfying just not exceptional for a top trim. Wish the cargo had bigger secret compartments. Overall great purchase, alot of details just 10% from perfect. Bonus: love how dealer didn't let me leave without educating about the car frist, and I mean step by step lessons.
We have three in our family, all with over 50K miles and no issues whatsoever. Youngest daughter has a 2016 (first generation) Touring while my wife and older daughter have 2017 and 2018 Grand Touring models, respectively. While not as spacious as some other offerings in this segment, they all chose the CX-5 for its sporty handling and relatively luxurious interior. I still like my 2019 Subaru Forester Sport but specifically since we use it for outdoor activities and the roof rack is (one of the) best for transporting long kayaks and the greater interior space and higher ground clearance works for our frequent camping and outdoor adventures.
I have driven my 2020 CX-5 Signature for 6 weeks now and this vehicle continues to impress me. The adaptive cruise control is incredible after you get used to it. The 310 pounds feet of torque makes the 6 speed automatic feel great. My 2015 Maxda 3 GT with the tech option was a fantastic, flawless vehicle for the 5.5 years I owned it. This Signature model feels even better, hope it will be as reliable.
I recently got my CX-5 Signature in Machine Gray a couple months ago. It's a great ride and I love mine! Yes, I agree there are a few areas Mazda needs to improve on their best seller. Overall, the CX-5 is still worth considering. I'm looking forward to seeing what they do on the next generation.
I appreciate the fact that you guys are the only ones that review the audio system in your very thorough reviews. I hope someday someone does a podcast comparing Bose, Lexicon, Harmon Kardon ,Burmester, etc. Keep up the great reviews
I have a Mazda 6 Grand Touring and I love it! Mazda builds absolutely beautiful and VERY RELIABLE VEHICLES, not to mention the amazing driving experience! I never get bored with Mazda, it’s always fun to drive!!! My previous car was a Mazda 3. If I ever need to get another vehicle, it will be just another Mazda for sure!!!
Purchased a 2020 CX-5 GT and it has nearly all the features of the Signature trim. I think the only things the Signature trim has over the GT is nicer seat materials and 360 cameras.
Wasn't like that for the 2017 mazda 3 I got. I got the grand touring and LEDs weren't even standard. Had so many features I thought I would get but didn't because they were add-ons available on top trim.
That’s why I got a Mazda 3 evolve and added vision technology. I didn’t want leather seats or a 2.5L engine. I was surprised at how much technology you get in the base model.
Nice review guys. We just replaced our 2013 CX-5 Touring 2.0G with a 2020 Grand Touring 2.5G. We intentionally did not get the turbo to save money and for less complexity. The leather seats are not Nappa, but they are great and quietness of the 2020 vs. 2013 is astounding. Frankly, the interior of this Grant Touring does not feel much less premium than our 2019 6 Signature. In fact, the CX-5 GT has less road noise than our 6 Signature. I am sure that's because of the lower profile tires on the 6. Without the turbo, the 2.5G acceleration is not effortless like the turbo but it's way better the 2.0G motor ever was and it more than adequate. And it get's better MPG than the 6. The 2020 transmission VERY refined compared to the 2013 as well. There was nothing wrong with our 2013 CX-5, but it was under powered. Mazda was offering a number of deals and 0% financing so we we opted to get a new one. With the deals, our Blue 2020 CX-5 GT (Just over 26k) was less than my 2019 BMW R1250RT motorcycle!
We've had a 2015 CX-5 and 2017 CX-5 and they've been awesome! However, with two growing kids you quickly start to notice how small the backseat space is. I really hope Mazda opens up the interior space on the next redesign for families who don't need something as big as a CX-9 but are a bit cramped in a CX-5!
Close friends recently traded their German make for a CX5 and they’re really happy with it - particularly the handling. Looks like Mason is aging into a driving role & handles it with aplomb!! You guys really do great work - liked the grassy park as the setting for your review - nice touch of class, and it sets a good vibe for the features of the car. 😎
I have the 2019 CX-5 GTR - one of the biggest reasons why I went with Mazda was because of how much I dislike the "feel" of driving a car with a CVT, unfortunately that limits your options a lot these days. Basically cuts Honda, Subaru, and Nissan out of the running. The handling of the CX-5 feels great, it drives like a car and not a crossover SUV. I never considered owning a crossover but this car changed my mind. I agree that the infotainment system is pretty dated but Android Auto/Apple Carplay takes care of that. Other than that - I don't really have any major complaints about this car after owning it for 10 months.
I love Mazda’s I have the 2020 CX-5 GT very amazing and comfortable and the paddle shifters is standard on the GT and up and GT premium has the HUD display heated and cool seats love the CX-5 and also just subscribed love the review 😀
The best quality and reliable luxury and drive experience with Mazda product I had 2012 Mazda 3 and now I got 2020 cx5 sig premier top of the line and I love Mazda quality Made in Japan 🇯🇵 Mazda makes amazing reliable cars and suvs. Thank you Mazda
I'm glad you corrected these fools doing this video - they said Mazda is not a luxury vehicle and is on the same level with a Honda SUV - NO IT IS NOT. Mazda is above that class and the looks outside and inside quality is on the level of the lexus and other high ends - it just cost less, like Mazda Corporation said - they make an affordable luxury vehicle.
I have an older CX5 and I see things haven't changed much. Your experience is exactly like mine after having it for 4 years. This will make me see some of your other videos. One thing you did not mention - the seat comfort. I have made 15-hour trips with my CX5 and I didn't feel the slightest fatigue in the back or waist. On the contrary, I felt better after the first 1-2 hours.
Glad I found this comment the heard people complaining that the CX-5 had shitty seats. But you're saying that's not the case? it's really the only thing stopping me from buying this car right now
@@chicoandthem4n You can ask for a test drive and check for yourself. You don't nee do to make it 15-hour - a 2-hour drive will give all the info you need. Just a few weeks ago I made a 3-hour trip and I didn't feel the slightest fatigue despite the mountain road.
@@chicoandthem4n Another thing that admire in this car is the AWD - you feel the slightest oversteer in an icy corner and before you react, the electronics has already done the corrections. Of course, this has its limits and the speed needs to be carefully chosen before that.
Love Mazdas. I have a ‘20 Mazda6 Signature and my sister has a ‘16 CX-5 Grand Touring. The 6 is so smooth and feels very luxurious with plenty of power, and the CX-5 is really nice for its age. The only drawback to any Mazda is resale value and depreciation, but my sister and I feel we will be keeping these vehicles for quite a long time.
Well done boys, your presentation has evolved so quickly, its great to see you both becoming much more confident infront of the camera. Content is great as usual.
Basketball 🏀 references with the vehicles Slam Dunk & Airball is a good touch.. I know you Kentucky Boys eat, breathe & sleep basketball.. So as a basketball lover from NYC.. I dig it 👌🏼👍🏼
May 2023. Just bought the 2020 cx5 touring for (24,000 usd) for my 17 year old daughter moving to college soon.. This is the only vehicle I wanted for her. And she loves it!! (And she really wanted a jeep wrangler tho... and i couldnt justify it) She says the cx5 looks the most feminine in its class as well. And the safety sells its self
UA-cam suggested this vehicle to me because I've seen so many CX5 videos while I was car shopping. I ended up with the CX5 Grand Touring Reserve with the turbo engine. It's the most fun to drive SUV cheaper than a Macan AND the CX5 has more power than the base Macan. Fellas if it's anythign like other mazda you can dim the infotainment by turning the trip reset button in the instrument cluster.
I just bought a 2020 Soul Red Crystal Signature - came with 3 miles on it. The thing is a beast. It's a beauty inside and out but the performance is straight up beast. Go the extra mile and fill premium fuel by the way, definitely worth it.
The CX-5 is Mazda's most appealing and by far its best selling model in North America. The turbo engine option gives it the same engine/drive train as the CX-9 and Mazda6. It's far more appropriate in the CX-5 with a curb weight of a bit over 3800 lbs than in the CX-9 with a curb weight of nearly 4400 lbs, a difference that stretches to much more when the 3 row CX-9 is loaded with passengers and gear compared to the 2 row CX-5. And unlike the Mazda6, the CX-5 has an AWD option to put the prodigious torque to the pavement. The interior appointments in the top two trims are undeniably premium compared to rivals like the CR-V and Rav4. There are negatives. The six speed transmission is long-in-the-tooth but for those who hate CVT's, it's still a plus compared to most rivals. The infotainment system is similarly old and slow. The sunroof is small. There's no hybrid option, an increasingly popular choice in the competition. And the top trim CX-5 models are relatively expensive (at least in terms of MSRP) compared to rivals including the CR-V while Toyota can't keep up with demand for the RAV4 Hybrid. Finally, though it's glossed over in the video, the biggest weakness of the CX-5 compared to its rivals is its limited cargo space. It may not be a big deal for single driver and front seat passengers, those who value performance over utility (as many reviewers do) and by those who (as noted in the video) "wouldn't buy a crossover" anyway, but passenger and cargo space is a big deal for families and compact CUV's are the vehicle of choice for young families and couples who enjoy travel and outdoor activities. As noted in the video the CX-5 offers 31 cubic ft of cargo space behind the second row and slightly less than 60 cubic ft of overall cargo space. And despite the comment that it's a "little bit less than...rivals" (14:09), it's considerably more than a little bit less. In fact the CX-5 ranks dead last in the entire category, especially in terms of total cargo space. The RAV4 has 37/70 cubic ft. The Forester has 31/76 cf. The CR-V leads the pack with 38/76 cf. Thus the Honda provides nearly 27% more total cargo space than the CX-5. Of course, shape as well as size makes a gross comparison potentially misleading but an average carry-on bag is about 1.6 cubic ft. So while it's undoubtedly an exaggeration that a CR-V could hold 10 (!) more bags than a CX-5 the much greater capacity is obvious. Finally, it's worth noting that a VW Golf/GTI/Golf R provides 54+ cubic ft of total cargo space, less than six cubic ft less than a CX-5 in a vehicle that's nearly a foot less in length. And if cargo capacity is a low priority a hatchback like a GTI or a Mazda3 or even a Golf R with an MSRP only about $3000 more than a top trim CX-5, AWD and far better performance and handling is arguably a better choice. Despite its weaknesses and recognizing its strengths, Mazda is more dependent on the CX-5 than ever. In 2019 the CX-5 recorded record sales (154,543) in the US. Not surprisingly, sales are down in the first half of 2020 (65,000) as a result of economic conditions and COVID so Mazda is unlikely to sell more 140,000 CX-5's this year. (65,000 were sold in the first six months.) And though that won't compare favorably with the RAV4 or the CR-V or even the Rogue or Forester and leave the CX-5 in eighth place among compact SUV's, it's literally the only bright spot in terms of sales in Mazda's entire lineup. In the lucrative and highly competitive mainstream midsize 3 row segment, CX-9 sales (13,451) are dead last by a large margin in the first half of 2020. The next slowest selling model is the VW Atlas with nearly twice as many sold (24,972). In the subcompact category the recently introduced CX-30 sales (16,956) are at least mediocre but they come at the expense of a complete collapse of CX-3 sales (4700). All in all, the CX-30 ranks 24th among all small crossovers, trailing a host of other subcompact and compact models. Outside the CUV/SUV categories things are even worse. The Mazda6 has traditionally been a slow seller compared to the Camry, Accord, and Altima, of course. But with total sales in the first half of 2020 of 8085 vehicles, down 38% compared to the first half of 2019, it's literally on life support. The midsize sedan market is soft but even the VW Passat outsold the Mazda6 with 10,101 sales. An even bigger problem for Mazda are the dismal sales of the new generation Mazda3. In 2018 combined sales of sedans and hatchbacks amounted to 64,000+ vehicles. In 2019, sales dropped 21% to 50,000+. In the first half of 2020 there was a 43% (!) decline compared to the first half of 2019 to 16,000 sales. If sales continue at that pace for the remainder of 2020, sales will be half of what they were in 2018. And that's an optimistic prediction. Mazda has announced the addition of a turbo Mazda3 with the same engine as the CX-5, Mazda6, and CX-9 and AWD. Unfortunately, despite the buzz that generates among internet fan boys, it won't have much impact on sales, especially if it adds significantly to the already comparatively pricey Mazda3. Performance versions of mainstream vehicles are a niche market. For example fewer than 5% of Camry's are sold with the V6 engine. A similar percentage opt for the 2.0L turbo in the Accord. In other words, the turbo Mazda3 is meant to draw customers to showrooms with the hope they can be sold something else. What does all the misery in the rest of the Mazda lineup have to do with the CX-5? Simple. Mazda cannot survive in the US as the smallest independent mainstream automaker on the planet solely on the sales of a compact crossover. Without huge improvement in the brand's overall sales, Mazda is likely to become an attractive acquisition of a larger manufacturer like Toyota. And that would be a shame.
Mazda: European-level premium, classy feel with Japanese durability & reliability. Now with the AWD options and turbo skyactive, it has won me over. A classy understated luxurious Mazda 6 that can SMOKE Toyota's TRD V6 or any other similarly priced vehicle; plus available in wagon! Damn, Mazda is back bullying the leading pack titans.
Another great review, brothers! The CX-5 still manages to standout in the class despite so many new and updated entrants. The refined interior and the hallmark Mazda driving dynamics keep it in the conversation. For $38k, that is notably pricey, but that is in keeping with Mazda's niche "mainstream-luxury" theme. There is a reason why the Audi Q5 keeps coming up. After driving the CX-5, it is hard to justify a Q5 2.0T for another $10k+. Against its true competition, the Ford Escape Titanium is $40k and very inferior to the Mazda. The RAV-4 Prime is definitely faster, but the dynamics and interior can't hold up to the CX-5. The CRV Hybrid is a great "all-arounder", but is somewhat dull. I do like the upcoming Nissan Rogue but NO THANKS on the Jatco CVT. Where Mazda needs to invest is in the technology piece. I can forgive the 6spd transmission because it is a GOOD transmission(more gears do not mean "more better". Toyota's 8spd has horrible shift logic and do we even need to discuss the ZF 9spd in Honda and Chrysler products?). No, the infotainment is nearly unforgivable for how dated, slow, and irratic it is. When a $20k Mazda 3 has a better back up camera than a "Signature" CX-5, something has gone awry(yes I am aware of the updated system, which should be present here). And while it is very small thing, Mazda should have included LED turn signals f/r here as well(Honda has since 2016). It just helps to impart the luxury theme they're going after. But overall, it is HARD to knock the CX-5!(Mazda still needs to work on their US dealer network tho.)
The Q5 drives much nicer than the CX5, and has a higher quality interior, not by much though. And the Q5 looks much nicer on the exterior, but that’s subjective.
HellKitty 101 the Q5 is a little faster in every single test, such as 0-60, 1/4 mile, 0-100, 5-60, 30-70, 50-70, etc. Not a huge difference but it’s there in every test. The Q5 also has stronger grip by a bit, at 0.81 g over the CX-5’s 0.79 g. Both are not great figures though. The Q5 also stops from 70 in 12 less feet (173 vs 161), which is quite significant. The Q5 also has a much better AWD system. Mazda’s unknown AWD system is by far from the best, while Quattro is well known as one of the best AWD systems ever. I’ve had Quattro in a few of my Audi’s, and it was absolutely phenomenal. The CX-5 also has a kind of outdated 6 speed single clutch, while the Q5 has an almost lightning fast 7 speed dual clutch. While I’ve driven the Q5 but not the CX-5, I can tell you there are some objective points there and I can almost guarantee you the Q5 drives much nicer. I don’t know the figures, but I’m sure it also has much less road noise than the CX-5. Again, I’ve driven the new Q5, I actually owned a previous Gen one, a 2010 3.2. It drives phenomenally, feels almost like a sedan. While the Mazda Im sure drives very well for its class, I can’t imagine it coming anywhere close to the Q5, as the Q5 is one of, if not the best driver in the compact luxury SUV segment.
HellKitty 101 the Q5 is also worlds ahead in the tech department. The virtual cockpit is amazing, and the Audi’s modern MMI interface is leagues ahead of the Mazda’s outdated system. Additionally, not a huge deal, but why does the Mazda have halogen turn signals, front and rear? If Mazda wants to be known as a “Luxury brand”, they have to do better than that. A $20,000 corolla hatch has LED signals front and rear.
Good detailed review guys. WHERE did the extra 10 ft. lbs. of torque come from for 2020? (In my 2019 I get extra torque from a drop-in K&N air filter and 100 octane gas (when I can afford it at US $8.00/gallon). But WOW! When I run pure 100 octane I get a lot more ZOOM ZOOM! BTW MAZDA really NEEDS an 8 speed automatic transmission. Hopefully it will appear soon and for sure is should be in the 2022 MAZDA 6 with the stunning "Vision" concept car styling with an inline 6 Skyactive II engine. Can't wait.
Helpful video so thank you. Can you please explain the issue you mentioned with Android Auto? We are considering this car and having that is critical. Did you resolve the issue? Does using Android Auto work well? Do you forsee that they might send a software update to improve the system?
I do have to laugh at all of these reviews for CUVs. They floor the accelerator and talk about how fast they are yet I feel if someone is looking for something quick, why would they want a CUV? I don't see many people flooring their CUVs and I do a lot of daily driving. Purchase a sports car if you need power. The review is good and the CX-5 is nice.
I own a 2019 cx 5 touring and am thinking about trading it in for the new cx 5 carbon edition turbo model. Interested in the new infotainment and turbo engine. Is it worth it?
The CX-5 defaults to the rear view camera for a simple reason. The full screen rear view camera is a federally mandated feature. Requiring a driver to switch manually to that view from the 360 degree camera would not meet that legal requirement.
You will be able to upgrade the navigation system but it is unlikely that this older system will ever be able to be upgraded to the all-new version like in the Mazda 3. The hardware is quite different
They keep saying it’s a premium style without being a premium vehicle but that vehicle was almost $50,000 maxed out with a signature. That’s getting to be premium pricing? Nevertheless I agree it’s just too small the inside the consul widens and makes your knee space very tight it’s also a little low to the ground it would be nice to at least get above 8 inches of clearance
Car Confections I thought it be best just to provide you proof so you don’t just keep going back-and-forth of different scenarios. I built one for you maxed out NOT counting taxes tags processing fees etc. $42,640 www.mazdausa.com/shopping-tools/build-and-price/2020-cx-5#s=5&tr=Automatic&d=AWD&f=Gasoline&t=20CX5SG%7C20CX5SGXA&ex=46V&in=L_KF2&p=&ip=&o=1BT%7CTTH%7CRCK%7CRCC%7CISP%7CRBG%7CILK%7CFLA%7CCGN%7CMWD%7CRRC%7CSWD%7CSGF%7CSGR%7CCTA%7CSGL%7CCGM%7CWSA&io=
I purchased at 34,100 and added accessories of my choice plus 1700, all total 38,500 before taxes. So it about negotiating for best offer. I did a road with four who enjoy the the space and comfort, the reclining back seats make a difference.
Nicholas Contreras Anytime you mention money everyone wants to debate You got a great deal man good job $34 signature nice good for you If it’s not a signature... revert back to my first comment
I debated looking into this when looking into a new crossover, but I found the outdated infotainment a con with less space in the center console a minus, I practically live in my car and that's important to me, so I passed on this. I have heard many say Mazadas are fun to drive though.
My wife and I purchased a 2020 CX-5 about a month ago (her chevy equinox was on its last legs). Infotainment didn't bother us since it has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto now. We also came from a vehicle that had zero infotainment so any infotainment seemed new to us. The Bose sound system also sounds great and it was nice to see such a premium sound system. Interior materials and build quality are top notch. It feels like a luxury vehicle. We test drove a Cadillac XT5 which is about double the price and it wasn't as nice as the CX-5. Interior space seems fine to me, about equivalent to our Equinox that the CX-5 replaced. The CX-5 is also most definitely the funnest to drive, very little body roll if your pushing it around corners at a decent clip.
I agree but I like this car a lot. I opted for a VW Tiguan. More space but sadly still a small center console. Carpet lined door pockets are huge in all 4 doors. Glove box is great size. I eat in the car on a cookie sheet I carry with me. It’s an idea I saw on Pinterest! What did you buy ?
Another great review guys. So professional. Say, I'm curious, I hope you had coupons for those 3 Supreme Pepperoni Pizzas in the trunk! Haha. Take care.
May I ask what you guys drive as your personal cars? I picture you in 3 series Beamers or Audi A3’s! Great review. I have owned several Mazda’s and almost bought a CX-5 a year ago but chose a Volkswagen. I did just talk my friends mother into a CX-5 over another Honda CR-V. She likes it pretty well! Thanks for the review.
I do prefer the buttons on the handle over the sensor for when your hands are full, you can use a finger to pull the handle once unlocked. Glad they added the turbo finally, I test drove one before the update and it was slow. They do need to make their doors/ handles sound better, they sound tinny. I think they look okay, I feel the last gen looked better if not as upscale. I get that Mazda wants to be premium, just not sure about paying what they are asking especially with the infotainment and screen being so small.
Mazda CX-5 the best compact SUV! I have 2017 GT but deer accidentally hit the car and insurance totaled it. And now I have the 2020 CX-5 Signature and I really love the car, same as my 2017 GT. I choose Mazda CX-5 because they are reliable and never gave me a negative feedback for the years i drove with my 3 years 2017 GT. The interior is classy for the non luxury SUV its not cheap build and the safety system is superb! My family has a Lexus NX 2017 and they always went to the dealer because there's a lot of problem with the computer system car won't turn on.
@@joshua9073 im not a dumb driver, texting while driving? no way.. It was a night time and the road is a little up & down. and the deer hit the car as soon as you can see the down road.
Car Confections, really torn between the 17" and 19" ride on bumpy road edges/rocky roads, but only see feedback that 19" are firmer (w/c is obvious). Any more detail feedback on ride feel on such uneven turfs? Thanks.
The 19's have a pleasant firmness that's not harsh. But I've not driven one with the 17's to compare and contrast the feel. Maybe you can test drive them back-to-back to know for sure?
@@CarConfections Thanks. Unfortunately not...all test drive units here (in Asia w/ units imported from Malaysia) are the lowest variant only, 2.0L with 17" rims, so this is the only one I've tried.
@@CarConfections I had the 2015 mazda cx5 and now I'm trading in a 2017 lexus nx turbo for a 2020 mazda cx5 grand reserve. I noticed that mazdas standard engine really struggles with passing on the freeway especially with 4 adults and some cargo. Thank you for your input. Great channel by the way!
They still can't get that infotainment system right. Wake up it's too small, slow and resolution is poor. Mazda this counts. But for what it offers it's a win. I was looking fo a midsize SUV fo a while and this review did it.
Rims! And Awd!
Cons:
No door handle sensors for keyless entry on top trim ( should be standard) only a push button on door.
Congrats on your new CX-5!
J Yu of course TT& L is extra. Not out the door.
J Yu I just one also. About $2200 of sticker and 0% APR with credit score about 740 through Mazda American credit
I have a 2020 Mazda CX-5 just the touring package and my husband has a 2020 Mazda 3 hatchback. We both love the look and style of ours!
Thanks, Tom! 👍
The cool thing about Mazda is you get a lot of options standard on even the lowest trim
Purchased a 2020 CX-5 GT and it has nearly all the features of the Signature trim. I think the only things the Signature trim has over the GT is nicer seat materials and 360 cameras.
Evilutionary plus the turbo engine on the GT Reserve is the other difference😎
Wasn't like that for the 2017 mazda 3 I got. I got the grand touring and LEDs weren't even standard. Had so many features I thought I would get but didn't because they were add-ons available on top trim.
That’s why I got a Mazda 3 evolve and added vision technology. I didn’t want leather seats or a 2.5L engine. I was surprised at how much technology you get in the base model.
Man, I love this vehicle! Too bad I’m not looking for a new vehicle for another 3 to 5 years😞. Excellent job on this video, Mason and Drew,
Nice review guys.
I used to sell Mazda and I’m glad you are a loyal Mazda customer! I’ve owned 5-6 and have enjoyed them all.
Wow I love Mazda best vehicle in this class of segment
Mazda vs. Volvo!
@@AUA-camChannelwithNoName compare a luxury car from people's car? Mazda must be very proud.
It's the most fun to drive midsized CUV cheaper than a Macan. It's also really nice inside. It even has more torque than the base Macan.
I love Mazda’s I have the 2020 CX-5 GT very amazing and comfortable and the paddle shifters is standard on the GT and up and GT premium has the HUD display heated and cool seats love the CX-5 and also just subscribed love the review 😀
Thanks, Ryan! Welcome to the Car Confections Crew!
I'm looking at a 2020 gtr. Is the infotainment system that bad?
My Mazda Tribute from 2006 is still running perfectly
The fact they dont offer ventilated seats on the Carbon is a crime.
@@ki5739 good to know. I wanna grey blacked out edition, AWD turbo signature white interior
@@chicoandthem4n Another thing that admire in this car is the AWD - you feel the slightest oversteer in an icy corner and before you react, the electronics has already done the corrections. Of course, this has its limits and the speed needs to be carefully chosen before that.
@@ki5739 yeah I'm pretty much sold , thanks for replying
Love Mazdas. I have a ‘20 Mazda6 Signature and my sister has a ‘16 CX-5 Grand Touring. The 6 is so smooth and feels very luxurious with plenty of power, and the CX-5 is really nice for its age. The only drawback to any Mazda is resale value and depreciation, but my sister and I feel we will be keeping these vehicles for quite a long time.
I really love this car it looks very clean
The 2021/2022 CX-5 will be my next car. It will be a dope car.
They updated this infotainment for 2021
This is one of my favorite suv.
Love you guys from🇳🇬
UA-cam suggested this vehicle to me because I've seen so many CX5 videos while I was car shopping.
Been thinking about this for the fam. TY, one of the best reviews I've found.
Glad you enjoyed!

The CX30 uses the new Infotainment system which is flawless. I suspect it will make it's way to the 5 next year.
Thanks for the review guys. I just bought the CX-5 Signature in Machine Gray. I think that I am going to like it...a lot! :-)
Congrats! You definitely will! 😁
I just bought a 2020 Soul Red Crystal Signature - came with 3 miles on it. The thing is a beast. It's a beauty inside and out but the performance is straight up beast. Go the extra mile and fill premium fuel by the way, definitely worth it.
Oh wow my friends mom also bought a soul red crystal with 3 miles on it about a week ago! Your initials aren’t DEHJ are they? Lol
@@joshua9073 haha no but that is awesome!!
Great review guys was waiting for the noise reading on test driving.
me too, where is it?
Nice video guys love the cx5 my wife is killing to get her one 😆
Fantastic review.. I'm from the uk I have a diesel 2020 so much power and torque.....
Two years ago today! Thinking of buy one.
Woah, a surprise, Mason is driving!!!
Great job guys! Could you please measure noise level at 75mph cruising in your future videos? Thanks
@@mattX5 "much nicer" is certainly debatable.
@@mattX5 And how much is a comparably equipped Q5?
Can't wait.
Gonna save up and get a CX-5 GT in Soul Red for winter driving to match my 2020 RF GT.

Helpful video so thank you. Can you please explain the issue you mentioned with Android Auto? We are considering this car and having that is critical. Did you resolve the issue? Does using Android Auto work well? Do you forsee that they might send a software update to improve the system?
The issue we were having was that Android auto wouldn't pull up every time we plugged the phone in. Sometimes it would take several attempts. Thanks!
Nice review, thanks!
The next refresh of both the CX-5 and 6 will have the newer infotainment software and also better quality cameras. Love Mazda!!!
The extra turbo is for flooring it when you want to pass fuckers who don't want to let you in on the highway and shit
Great review, guys, thanks! Dang, I wish Mazda would upgrade their tech a bit, it's way overdue!
I own a 2019 cx 5 touring and am thinking about trading it in for the new cx 5 carbon edition turbo model. Interested in the new infotainment and turbo engine. Is it worth it?
Thanks for the great review, but i wanna ask about a sound in the last 5 minutes while you driving it's like the decor isn't stable or what?
Wow! Mazda reviews are back at it again since a long time ya'll!
The CX-5 defaults to the rear view camera for a simple reason. The full screen rear view camera is a federally mandated feature. Requiring a driver to switch manually to that view from the 360 degree camera would not meet that legal requirement.
You are an encyclopedia of information !
Howdy, great review as always y’all! I love the CX-5! Just curious, where did y’all go and did you have fun?😸😻😸

Just saw yesterday that it will! 10-inch display with the new Mazda software
I'm waiting for the 2021 as well because I want the sport trim and android auto is standard for this year model.
I thought you could upgrade to the new infotainment software?? Is that not correct?
You will be able to upgrade the navigation system but it is unlikely that this older system will ever be able to be upgraded to the all-new version like in the Mazda 3. The hardware is quite different
If turn signals are incandescent then it is not full. LED.

They keep saying it’s a premium style without being a premium vehicle but that vehicle was almost $50,000 maxed out with a signature. That’s getting to be premium pricing? Haha, love the pant/shirt color matching. Was that done on purpose?
You clearly pay more attention to the details than we do haha
Wow! I’d love it even more with the Mazda 3 infotainment
I decided to go Acura RDX with the SH-AWD.

Rav4 or CR-V VS the CX-5
I like the 2020 Mazda CX-5
Can't decide between this or the Rav 4 limited 🤔
I was having the same debate, I've settled on the Mazda.
I text drove both and the Mazda out performed by far on the drive and the interior also felt more premium
This guy loves his coupons 😜. By the way, nice review.

Mazda CX-5 the best compact SUV! I have 2017 GT but deer accidentally hit the car and insurance totaled it. And now I have the 2020 CX-5 Signature and I really love the car, same as my 2017 GT. Guys, I am really torn between this or the lower trims without the turbo. Is it worth upgrading and losing fuel economy to get this trim?
For me it would be. But it depends on how much speed matter to you?
Out of these four which you like best. 2021 CX-5 Signature, 2022 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid Limited, 2021 Toyota Venza, or 2021/2022 Kia Sorento X-line ?

The front indicators are abysmally small too.
