I like when game devs try to entertain you in the credits
I like cyberpunk 2077s credits. It shows you video recordings of all of the friends you've made on your journey. It's very sweet
There is also the secret credit room with pictures of all the devs and Johnny giving some nice ambiance
When credits rolled after finishing Dark Souls 3 I took a breath, then the music started. It's like the creators knew how I would cry. It felt like my character finally had some warmth and rest. We sometimes find the brightest of lights in the darkest of places.
Fun fact: the NieR: Automata E ending choir is all the game devs singing.
I still remember watching the outtakes that were displayed next to the credits at the end of DVDs. I would love to see funny/weird bugs next to the credits of video games
Hearing Exhale at the start was nice. I was literally thinking about Celeste’s ending as I clicked the video.
nier automata's credits actually have a meaning in the lore and its awsome.
i actually like credits the way they are. because it gives me time to think about the game directly after finishing it. tbh my thinking doesn't last as much as credits and i end up skipping it.
your channel is so underrated for how good this video
Thank you for the support :)
I don't remember the titles, but I've played some puzzle games that let you play some (fairly simple) extra puzzles during the ending. They're not difficult, but it gives you something to do. Freshly Frosted, another puzzle game, is also pretty nice because as the credits scroll it takes you on a reverse path through all the levels (factories) that you've done, which was pretty nice.
I'm surprised you didn't talk about Furi, it's one of the best indie games I ever played, the credits part is not only incredibly interactive, but also makes a visual representation of why the protagonist was imprisoned from the very first moment of the game. It's only 5 hours long, I just watched your video talking about playing different types of games, hopefully you'll give it a try! Loving your channel btw :)
I love furi I forgot it her Interactive credits :p thanks for the support! :D
One of my favourite end credits must be the Human fall flat because of the interactivity in the credits. Your character is falling down through the credits, you can interact with them by grabbing it or touching them and what was also really cool that i discovered that you can use the letters to slow down your falling speed and that gave me time to read out some the credits.
i think the credits should be in the middle so that the ending can have much more impact.
Journey was the first and only game after I completed it, I just said there and watched the credits.
Just to take it all in
I'm really hoping you make it big one day. Been watching your stuff the past couple of days and it's great. Keep it up
Thank you for the support! That means a lot :)
I think inside did a good job with their credits
When I watch a credits sequence for a game I don’t think about the game itself, I think about the people who made it. The team that worked everyday for years for the finished product. I agree that credit sequences should be interesting, I personally like to read the names and some will stick out to me. I think that this person, who doesn’t know I exist, helped create a powerful experience I will hold with me for the rest of my life. One of the things I love to see is a “Development babies” section in which it shows the names of the children of developers who had them during development. I think “Wow this kid who doesn’t even know what a video game is, will one day come back and look at this credit of themself.” It’s great to see the impact of the industry giving developers recognition for them having a family that is funded by their passion of development. More games need to make the credits feel personal, and more human. These are people who made this game. More than likely they overworked themselves for the sake of the team and are happy its complete.
Credits need to show recognition, feel human and be personal. When they are I am more inclined to watch them.
Also a banger soundtrack helps.
Idk if you played it, but ddlc is a great example of non interactive yet amazing credits. Seeing boring credits also kinda hurts cause it makes you realize the devs couldnt wait to just get their project over with. Anyway, your channel is a breath of fresh air, even though these are things i always thought of, i dont really hear other people talking about it. Channels like this one are what the gaming community needs more of.
Really loved nier credits. Not only interactive, but also a part of the overall experience
Excellent video, I am including you in my next game credits :)
Some credits that i love:
The terraria credits are automatically activated when you defeat the final boss, but the credits play WHILE you play the endgame, which is pretty cool,
The rayman legends credits are pretty different though, when you defeat all the bosses in the game, you get sent to a cloud area where you can walk, after 6 seconds the credits will start scrolling, every letter or punctuation is represented by slippery ice blocks, where you can walk on, the catch is that you can DESTROY the ice blocks punching on them, which means that you can easily destroy every ice block in the credits, but also, there is ANOTHER catch, HALF of the ice blocks are special blocks that gives you 1 lums, if you played the rayman series as a kid, you know that lums are the "coins" of the game which you can unlock things, at the end of the credits, you can just earn up to 999 LUMS, which is the maximum amount of lums that you can earn in a level.
I tend to skip end credits unless they are entertaining or I need to take in what I just played. A couple of my favorite credits are from SH2. The "Leave" ending destroyed me so I needed a minute and of course the "Dog" ending which was hilarious and had a fun song as the credits rolled haha
4:39 this happened to me after getting the good ending of omori. but the real thing that makes you cry, is when the start screen pops up after the credits... i hope youll enjoy the game :)
(ps im the guy who commented on backloggd)
Thanks man I hope I like it too :D and I remember you from backloggd you are the Omori guy ;)
I honestly prefer non interactive credits because it lets me just sit for a few minutes with my thoughts after finishing a game. That being said Celeste has a simple cutscene for its credits that I adore and Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Future Redeemed’s credits is not just credits for the dlc, but for the trilogy and have really nice backgrounds and scenes from all the games and idk how you don’t cry at that power move.
Man, Nier: Automata getting only a tangential callout at the end hurt my soul. The credits weren't just interactive, they became a part of the game's greater narrative.
Also, I believe the Smash Bros. series has had these fun rail shooter sections for the credits ever since Melee.
If I talked for too long about Nier it would get spoilery 😉
I sometimes watch credits to see if someone from my country worked on the game
the bugy skyrim footage amist the rest was just comedy!
Great video!
Heh yeah that was actually my own footage from the latest time i tried playing. Classic skyrim
My favorite video game credits is, of all places, Freddi Fish 5. Instead of the typical scrolling credits, you can click on a developer role and see who worked in that field. I think suites the medium way better than the usual style, and it's a Children's game!
"Interactivate Credits", did you coin this term?
I haven't seen it used anywhere else, but it is a very generic term so it's not like I am gonna copyright it or anything :P
It's just the most basic way of describing them
@@mygameopinions I have never heard of it before so I will bestow on you the honor of coining it 👑
I stayed on Injustice 2s credits once due to respect for the guy i didnt know who passed & credits which are unskippable are just downright terrible and would make me maybe not replay something
I watch the credits but will look at my phone if something isn’t happening
Great video
Thanks!
the credits in it takes two was fun, and there was an option to skip it too
Battlefield 1 is great, because while the music is already great and you can listen to them after what you just experienced, there’s a treat at the end. The Battlefield 1 music transitions to the song “The Band Played Waltzing Matilda,” performed by The Pogues.
I'm (assuming) you haven't played Super Monkey Ball (2001), or you forgot. But it's a fantastic example of interactive credits!
I have never played a monkey ball game but id like to! Because I love katamari and they are both about balls
@@mygameopinions it's the opposite for me! I've never played a Katamari game but I've wanted to for ages.
Gave me some ideas for my game 😂 you can even bind an achievment for playing through the credits
You should put me in the credits of your game then ;D
@@mygameopinions xD if u want you can test it when playtest starts. Will be a Zombie game where 4 players got a mission to do. Working on some other gamemodes too but we are still in very early development
Sure send me an email when it's ready to be played👍
@@mygameopinions alright nice
Look at the kirby start allies credits and the planet robobot credits, the're pretty good and interactible.
Nice video Dude! When is your video on the Peggle franchise coming out?
Good idea! I'll have to play through peggle 2 first...
4:49 i was in total shock when i finished soma the credits weren’t interesting but i watched a little bit
Soma is so good!
I think Super Smash Bros. Melee had interactive credits where you could shoot the names lol that was fun
I think the reason why Japanese games don’t have interesting credits is that they probably didn’t even think that people would skip it. This is due the fact that Japanese people tend to watch the entire credits. It’s a cultural thing.
Mario wonder and Smash bros have also very nice credit mini games
Could the Bernoulli principle be in the Thirty Flights of Loving credits because it has something to do with flight? I haven't played it, but the title has the word flight
That could be true!! I didn't think of that, I always assumed the title was talking about flights of stairs but it could be talking about flying
I also haven't played the game, but i think it's about having the right amount of pressure (and can also be taken as a metaphor for responsability) generally in life. With no pressure, you can't take off, you stale. With too much of it, you crash and burn. You need to find the right spot.
Great video!
Glad you enjoyed it :)
Castlevania bloodlines staff roll
The rdr2 end credits are good because you got video
Both cyberpunk and rdr2 had very good credits, but those are exceptions.
I don’t know if you said this already, but Title Screens have also gotten rather bland. Looking at Zelda BOTW, TOTK, Mario Wonder, and more. Some title screens can be absolutely beautiful, Xenoblade Chronicles for example.
Let’s be honest. Devil may cry 5 is the best credits sequence. It is just the same gameplay with a bit of text.
I think 3 and 4 do it too. Haven’t got around to 5 yet to know if it’s the same as what you’re saying. Just fun to hack and slash away at enemies for a challenge/fun at the end
Credits are what make the game
dmc 3 end credit nuff said
TYPING OF THE DEAD MENTIONED WOOO
What is that game at 3:17?
Nier: Automata. Another game with cool credits
Mother 2 and 3. Not boring.
most based youtuber
😁😁😁 Thank you
i think they should be longer more boring and unskipable
That is certainly an opinion
Mygameopinions gets first listen before dreamwastaken drop
Smash Bros Ultimate:😑
Geometry wars 3, smash bros.
I’m early
i skip credits because i dont *care* who made the game. i never did. even if its entertaining, i still skip it. i treat it as some sort of mandatory obligation required by law. and it shows.
