Main mistake is use 5w30 oil, this type isnt usualy base on PAO oil. I prefer Valvoline Fe 0w20 or Ravenol for VEA engiene. 4200 is for old engine types.
Click bait title. This is not an engine overhaul, more like routine maintenance plus. I was expecting you to pull the intake manifold off and clean the backs of the valves on this GDI engine.
You need the CTA Tools 2488 oil filter wrench that fits over that oil filter housing. It's specifically made for Volvo 2015+ 4 cylinder engines. I found out the trial and error way.
Did you make sure your 2016 has the new updated piston heads and seals? If not doing that cleaning and coating won't really do much. You will still burn oil.
Hey russell..i bought a used 2016 volvo xc 90 2 months ago..we have been gettimg the add liter of oil lighy every 800 to 1000 miles. We took it back to dealer where purchased and they said theres no oil leaks visible any where..im getting a little worried and i just saw your comment..is there a piston ring problem and is this why we gotta keep addimg quart of oil every 1000 miles..any help i highly appreciate
@@Plumbandplumber27 did you ever get that fixed.....I'm currently have that problem. They just tightened everything and I'm still leaking. Exactly what happening to you.
I agree; For the most part, this video is click bait. First of all, I had a 2016 XC90 as well. So, depending on when your Volvo was produced, certain models were known to have internal oil consumption due to faulty piston rings. However, I do believe that Volvo updated these later in the year for the 2016 production years. Also; 0W-20 oil might be hard to find. However, going with all OEM parts (Not necessarily from the “stealership”.) is definitely worth it in the long run. For example; On the OEM cabin filters, there are directional arrows.
Urgent Alert! Anybody watching this video - do not follow this completely or you can ruin your turbo! This guy failed to fill the oil filter container near full, then insert the new oil filter into the container prior to putting it back on to the Volvo. If you don't fill the oil filter container up and let the oil filter soak in with it prior to installing it, you can definitely most likely ruin the turbo! The other reason to do this is to make sure you have the right amount of proper oil level after you complete the oil change.
I'm 10+ oil changes in to my XC90 (which I bought used with 30k miles) and I've never filled the oil filter. Turbo is fine. I do let the car idle for a few minutes after an oil change though, I don't immediate rip it around.
I have a 2017 XC90 with 75k miles and no problems. I do maintain it correctly myself with good products, usually from fcp euro. Not sure how it would do with a crappy owner though.
Pity to see that kind of new car needs an engine flush. Engine flush has to be done by normal oil change interval, which is 10k (max 15). People are turning relatively new cars into junk. This not the way you save the planet.

Its a 86mm wrench socket that fits on the oil filter housing
Sweet! Thanks for the feedback, we have one on order now!

You are amazing ! I have MY18 XC60 and I want to do my own maintenance but can’t find any diy videos. This video does it all. Thanks a lot
This car don’t take 6.8qts of oil. You will defiantly ruin the engine by adding to much oil. It should be 5.7qts of oil.
What about the fuel filter? Thanks for the video
Why UFI?

When you have supercharge engine, it eats up more engine oil and its norm you refilling the oil as need. Thats why message comes on to let you know.
@@Plumbandplumber27 not sure if you ever got this fixed but yes there's a piston ring issue with these on 2015 and 2016 engines. fixed for 2017+

I would like to service my volvo at your garage.
Could you please give me the details. Thank you.
Does the Maintenance schedule call for spark plugs at 60k miles?
Yes, it does. The spark plugs should be changed every 60,000 miles.

What is the reliability like on the Volvo's. Have heard they are not great.
I heard that too, but Im 80K in and no problems yet.
Not sure where y'all heard that, they're well known for lasting for as long as you maintain them.
900k miles on my a family member of mine. Finally got rid of it just because it was over 20 yrs old. So I bought a xc90. 52k miles in

These Materials you must Use in old cars. Not in this volvo .
You get problems you will see.
