I have a late model Mustang GT and those 5.0 engines can develop a tick over time, apparently it's not a serious issue but it's annoying. The trick to keep that away is using Ceratec. I use it every oil change, 65k miles I've owned it and a total of 130k it's still as quiet as the day I got it. Did the Ceratec do that? I don't know but I don't have an issue adding it.

Urgent Alert! Anybody watching this video - do not follow this completely or you can ruin your turbo! This guy failed to fill the oil filter container near full, then insert the new oil filter into the container prior to putting it back on to the Volvo. If you don't fill the oil filter container up and let the oil filter soak in with it prior to installing it, you can definitely most likely ruin the turbo! The other reason to do this is to make sure you have the right amount of proper oil level after you complete the oil change.

I'm 10+ oil changes in to my XC90 (which I bought used with 30k miles) and I've never filled the oil filter. Turbo is fine. I do let the car idle for a few minutes after an oil change though, I don't immediate rip it around.

hello, is there any problem if I add the Ceratec ceramic additive from liqui moly, but after 100 km from the oil change, I just discovered it after the change and it even has good reviews on amazon, as there aren't many for other products, over 20,000 of reviews... mostly positive, so I'm curious if in contact with the used oil for about 100 km, this additive not being mixed, and not being fresh oil, is it ok? can it damage my engine?

It's important to understand these large spray bottles are not the same as putting a full ceramic coating on (those tiny bottles you mentioned). A real ceramic coating takes a lot of prep to install and lasts years with proper maintenance. These spray bottles are more like boosters and detailers you'd use on an already existing coating, though they do still work on directly on paint - just not very well.

Pity to see that kind of new car needs an engine flush. Engine flush has to be done by normal oil change interval, which is 10k (max 15). People are turning relatively new cars into junk. This not the way you save the planet.

I agree; For the most part, this video is click bait. First of all, I had a 2016 XC90 as well. So, depending on when your Volvo was produced, certain models were known to have internal oil consumption due to faulty piston rings. However, I do believe that Volvo updated these later in the year for the 2016 production years. Also; 0W-20 oil might be hard to find. However, going with all OEM parts (Not necessarily from the “stealership”.) is definitely worth it in the long run. For example; On the OEM cabin filters, there are directional arrows.

** Public Service Announcement ! ** It appears that Volvo has switched their oil specification for the 2.0L 4 cylinder models. Please call your local dealers and find out more info. It appears that all 2.0L 4 cylinder models should now be using 0W-20 for ALL driving conditions. The 5-6 cylinder engines are to use 5W-30. the change has to do with engine wear now that they have some years of real world data. ** Public Service Announcement ! **

Jow does Ceratec compare with Amtech Engien Restore? They both claim similiar. Also, will not Xastrol Magnatec be enough ? They too claim similiar
