Right! I absolutely adored All the Bright Places, but it's definitely a tear-jerker. Had to sit and just process it when I got to certain points, and then again when I finished it.
For Throne of Glass series. I’d say it doesn’t really matter when you read Assassins Blade as long as you read it before Queen of Shadows. I read it right after Heir of Fire and AB flowed nicely into Queen of Shadows. Don’t let the reading order hinder you. It’s a great series!
I actually forgot about Assassins Blade and never read it but was perfectly able to read the whole series without it. I look back on that series with fondness, I was so excited for every book and had a great time reading
lmao when the entire series is read and perfectly next to each other on your shelf except kingdom of ash because it’s on my favourites shelf and assasins blade because its still on my damn tbr shelf so you have the entire series except for the first and last book on your shelf- i kinda hate how i put those seperately…
The Bell Jar was surprisingly easy to read, the writing is very modern and the main character feels so real, It is sad but also one of the best depictions of depression i’ve ever seen. Definitely worth a read.
Loveless does not read so much like literary fiction…. It is such an easy and fun read while also tackling some deeper concepts! It is a perfect balance and I flew through it :)
I love Alice Oseman!! Loveless is really good (imo). It reads very real, like it's not "cutesy" romance kind of thing but there are cute moments in there. It's good ace/aro representation but it doesn't feel like it's teaching you. It just feels like an authentic discovery of identity. Really lovely emphasis on teen/young adult friendship, which is a theme in all their books. As an ace person, I loved it and I recommend:)
aristotle and dante is definitely more of a summer read I read it about four years ago during the summer and loved it! also little fires everywhere is amazing, you should definitely read it asap
Just finished Loveless by Alice Oseman today. It’s a solid read with a splash of romance. Crooked Kingdom was fanservice to Six of Crows. Six of Crows was great though. Ninth House was pretty good, but yeah, a bit dark.
I’ve read all Sally’s books & they are character driven not necessarily plot driven. Normal people is one of my favorite books ever, such beautiful characters & writing. Pls retry!
Sally Rooney is one of my favorite authors. Her writing is so unique and I fell in love with it. You should definitely give it another chance. Normal people and beautiful world where are you are my favorite and I’m currently reading conversations with friends so I can watch the television show.
“All the Bright Places” is one of those books that made me appreciate the little things in life and to never assume you know everything about a person. There is one part in the book where they are exploring their home town and the girl says that she hates it here because everything is so brown and ugly, the boy responds with something like “someone out there finds this place beautiful”. Basically reminding her to always look for the beauty in everything. That has always stuck with me. My mom also reminds me of the boy main character (for reasons I won’t spoil). Because of all this, I actually wrote an essay on this book for a scholarship I was applying for for college. I ended up getting the scholarship! So this book definitely holds a special place in my heart for many reasons ❤️
I love all of Alice Oseman's books and Loveless! It doesn't read as literary fiction, it reads as a contemporary and it focuses a lot on friendships and there is a really cute sapphic side romance
Sally Rooney is my fav author. I feel like the more you relate to the characters, the more you'll enjoy the book and her writing style. You should definitely read at least one of her books (my favorite is convos with friends).
-Fable and Namesake are sooooo good!!! -Midnight Sun is fantastic! -the whole Crave series is FANTASTIC! I’m obsessed with it. This video makes me feel so much better about how many books I own that I haven’t read😂
Also “The Firekeeper’s Daughter” was a 5 star for me, I loved the twist at the end. I felt honored to learn about another culture in such an entertaining way.
I think it would be so cool if you did a "Read Classics for 24 hrs" or just as video where you read some classics. Hopefully you do it, it'll be so cool to see.
All the Bright Places, literally my FAVORITE book of all time!! You have to read it, it's truly amazing. Don't recommend the Netflix movie based on it, it's not good at all and does not do the book justice (which is usually the case lol). But seriously, read it!! I wish I could read it for the first time all over again
it was the book that got me back into reading again so i may be a little biased but all the bright places is one of my favourite books ever and i highly recommend it
I’m currently reading “All the Bright Places” and so far it is so good. You get so attached to the characters which is good, but it makes me even sadder when something sad happens.
Every time Haley posts a book video I get so excited!! Haley is literally the reason that I got back into reading. I absolutely loved seeing your "physical TBR" because I feel like there were a lot of books that you haven't talked about in hauls and whatnot before.
normal people is my new favorite book, such a comfort read!! it took me like 40 pages to get used to her writing style but it’s so worth it!!! please try again, oh! and the watch the show🥲🥲🥲
Aristotle and Dante discover the secrets of the universe is totally a summer book!! And there’s elements of romance in it, the butterflies type. It’s also a super quick read like you said. Would highly recommend reading that one this season!
you can read once upon a broken heart as a stand alone, but i recommend reading it after the caraval series because the characters and plot in it will make more sense!!
loveless is my favorite book and i can assure you it is NOT literary fiction. it is a standard contemporary book and reads like a lot of standard romances, i highly recommend it, it’s such a feel good read :)
Haley I'm so happy you've found something you love so much! I know you have said you go through phases of loving different things and being obsessed, but I feel like you are going to love reading forever, and your book videos are amazing
With caraval, once upon a broken heart technically CAN be read as a stand-alone BUT I would encourage you to read legendary and finale first! There are little Easter eggs in once upon a broken heart that are so fun to pick up on as you connect the storylines!!! Please continue with the caraval trilogy, I adore it so much and the second and third books are so awesome !!!!!
I absolutely love the Crave series! I finished the first book in one sitting and ran out the next day to get Crush. The chapters are really short but leave off in a cliffhanger every time which makes them hard to put down!
Omg ur vids never fail girly! I love how u have books that u haven’t yet read! I do the same thing. While I’m occupied reading a book I buy other ones and they just sit there till I read them! Where did you get your book shelf?it’s so modern and pretty❤️
you're making me feel seen on mood reading! sooo many books on my TBR that I will not read for months bc it doesn't feel right. alsooo love buying the whole series before even reading the first one!!🫠
I just read "The Map from Here to There," and I absolutely loved it! I highly recommend! It's even better without having read its predecessor, so you won't miss out without having read the first book :)
Girl you look SO good! Happy, healthy and literally glowing! 😍 I’m still over here trying to figure out how you do your hair like that and how your skin looks so amazing. Also, been loving the book content!
I also got really frustrated the first time I tried to read "Normal people" because of the whole no quotation marks fiasco but the second time I tried to read it I got used to it. I think it's a great book and one worth reading. I'm currently reading "conversations with friends" and I think it's really good.
I thought I was the only one who stalls reading the last book of a series when I like it a lot because it means the end of an era 😭😭 Hayley gets it lol
sally rooney really changed my perspective on certain thing so definitely try reading her books! hulu has a normal people series and i feel in love with that. overall, conversation with friends is definitely a weird story but i would recommend!!!
I really recommend Fable, i’m not really a fantasy fan but I read Fable while on vacation at the beach and I really liked it. I thought it was written really well and made me buy more fantasy books. And omg Aristotle and Dante discover the secrets of the universe is so good. One of my favorites.
I've been loving your recent videos but this older video popped up and it is so cool to see the progress you've made in just a year when it comes to the books you've read and also as content creator. You now have the home library you mentioned in this video! Also this is your Reminder: 📌Display the Fable and Namesake books forward facing on your shelf 💕
if you’re still debating reading the assassin’s blade, i would definitely give it a go! i actually enjoyed it even more than the first three books. also, crown of midnight comes before heir of fire and i think you have them switched in order on your shelf haha
i love how you try books without knowing some of them. thats a really fun way of reading books. honestly, im not sure if you have read this book but archers voice is the BEST book i have read and i do recommend it if you haven't read it
I can’t believe that everyone in these comments is praising all the bright places, that was literally one of the worst books I’ve ever read lmao. It was so cringey and pretentious and didn’t make me feel anything, but I’d love to hear Haley’s opinion on it cause apparently I’m in the minority here
Honestly, I read it ages ago when I was 15 I think, and back then I loved it!!! The perfect YA read for a real YA. But now I’m 22 and don’t think I would love it this much if I was to read it for the first time now.
haleyy im loving your book content!! please please try loveless by alice oseman i love the book so much, its so so so easy to read, theres romance on the side characters, i love the friends on the side and the freindship in the story, and love the representation! its such a good book :)
Throne of glass is my ALL TIME FAVORITE SERIES!!!! I completely fell in love with it from the very first book. But I have heard lots of people say that it wasn't there absolute favorite until the third or fourth book (heir of fire or queen of shadows). So even though you don't love it yet, I'd recommend finishing it if you at least like them a decent amount.
I liked “The Masterpiece” by Francine Rivers even better than “Redeeming Love” tbh. Also I’m from Central California so it was really cool to know all of the places she was talking about because they’re literally close to home.
I just read the Firekeeper’s Daughter for a book club, it is not fantasy! The cover is misleading. It is actually a realistic fiction novel with a murder mystery plot and a bit of romance! I gave it 5 stars, an excellent debut!
the plot rlly thickens but i kinda hated them 😫 like they made juliette whiny again and made warner a bit annoying. only saving grace was kenji and nazeera
I read "The Poppy War" a long time ago and I loved it so much. Right now I am finishing 3rd book in this trilogy "The Burning God" and I love it even more. But overall, the whole trilogy is pretty brutal.
It’s so brutal! Especially if you read the authors note at the end of the first one… a lot of the horrible things in the first book are based off of real events.
beautiful world where are you, is one of my favourite books! i’ve also read normal people and conversations with friends, but beautiful world where are you is definitely her best one, pls read it💛
i am currently reading all the bright places and i love it so far !! it is getting me out of my reading slump. it’s a bit sad but very heart warming, anywho i love all your videos !
Act Your Age , Eve Brown is definitely the best one out of the Brown Sisters Series, im reading them backwards cause i didnt know it was a series when i had gotten it but it is the last book and I personally lovedddddd it ✨✨
I just stumbled on your video by chance in my recommendations, but it was so much fun to watch and I just want to say how delightful and refreshing it is to find a book fan and a UA-cam who is also Christian.
Midnight sun is basically Edwards Point of view when he left her alone in the second book (new moon). If you've only read the first book, I highly recommend the rest of the series too! There's the 4 main books, a short side book and then two newer books (1 being midnight sun - which is of course the latest!) Many people don't know that twilight doesn't just end at breaking dawn ahahah.
I am a huge throne of glass fan and i have to say for the first 3/4 books i thought it was good but not that crazy. But after that i absolutely fell in love with the side characters and i just finished the series a fee days ago and I have to admit NOTHING will probably ever compare to it, i am absolutely in love and sobbed through the whole last book. But there definitely are some slow parts and reading assasins blade as the 4th book is ESSENTIAL (i read it just before the last one and sooo much made more sense and haf more depth) Also think that if you are in a kinda Throne od glass slump after the first few, assassins blade will get you out of it bc its a collection of novelas so it feels like really good short storys :)
ahaaa i love that! i should def read that book soon🤗🤗also i recently started my own channel if ya wanna check it out~~i just posted my bake w me + advice session vid !!
Read the Bell Jar! Just because it is a classic doesn't mean that it is hard to read, novels written in the 60s are written very similarly to modern novels.
I literally JUST finished Just Last Night this morning and it wasn't my absolute favourite rom-com ever but it was really good! The grief in the book honestly isn't too bad, there's a lot of drama that kind of covers up the grief. Closer to the end of the book there is a bit more sad grief, so obviously if it's too hard for you to read, don't, but I would recommend it!
Currently reading "crooked kingdom" and even though I've seen those spoilers too, it's an amazing book. Wylan best boy also Kaz is even more unhinged than in soc but makes sense and i love it
haley you have to read fable. it’s literally so good. i cant even believe how much i loved the mc AND the love interest, they were such like-able characters and i cant wait to read namesake
The Fable series is so so good it is a slower read, but it is 150% worth it once you get to namesake. The series was one of the ones that go me into reading and I highly recommend!!
ok I loved Little Fires Everywhere-it was one of my favorite reads of 2020! Mystery and Ohio suburbia and high school. Also I recently read and watched Heartstopper by Alice Oseman and it's sublime-very excited to read Loveless. Since you like academic rivals to lovers, I would recommend Never Have I Ever...(the Netflix show)
You really should read the heartstopper series by Alice Oseman and after that you wanna read all of her books I promise! Also the netflix show is SO good
From someone who hates straight YA romance, Tweet Cute was actually quite good and I kind of enjoyed it which definitely means a lot from me Also, as someone who is Alice Oseman's biggest fan, Loveless is amazing. It's one of my favourite books!!!
@@dreamingofthemoon it’s not to say I LOVED it nor do I thing everyone will. It was just a step above the usual straight romance books I’ve read (which isn’t many lol) but I think if someone asked for a nice, fluffy romance, I would recommend it :)
@@Mia-kq6ox hmm ok, thank you!! I think I'm gonna keep it in mind but I have so many gay romances to go through first:) What's ur favorite gay romance book?
@@dreamingofthemoon ooh, that’s a tough one… Probably either The Mermaid, The Witch, and The Sea (fantasy) or any of Alice Oseman’s books lol. (Though, I must admit, RWRB holds a special place in my heart for being the book that got me back into books after a few years long slump) What about you?
@@Mia-kq6ox it HAS to rwrb! I never cried on public transportation bc of a book before rwrb but ... let's just say they achieved that! I want to support the authors who often get less attention than mlm novels. If you have any wlw recommendations, let me know!!

Read tweet cute! The characters are so adorable and the plot is so ridiculous in the best way
I liked “The Masterpiece” by Francine Rivers even better than “Redeeming Love” tbh. Also I’m from Central California so it was really cool to know all of the places she was talking about because they’re literally close to home.
love the masterpiece!!!
Love that book as well!! ❤️
this is how you lose the time war is so good i didn’t understand any of it but the descriptions are so beautiful i loved it
I just read the Firekeeper’s Daughter for a book club, it is not fantasy! The cover is misleading. It is actually a realistic fiction novel with a murder mystery plot and a bit of romance! I gave it 5 stars, an excellent debut!
defo recommend finishing the shatter me series, restore me especially gets SO GOOD and the plot really thickens!!
the plot rlly thickens but i kinda hated them 😫 like they made juliette whiny again and made warner a bit annoying. only saving grace was kenji and nazeera
I read "The Poppy War" a long time ago and I loved it so much. Right now I am finishing 3rd book in this trilogy "The Burning God" and I love it even more. But overall, the whole trilogy is pretty brutal.
It’s so brutal! Especially if you read the authors note at the end of the first one… a lot of the horrible things in the first book are based off of real events.
beautiful world where are you, is one of my favourite books! i’ve also read normal people and conversations with friends, but beautiful world where are you is definitely her best one, pls read it💛
You should really keep reading Throne of Glass! It would be a great book to finish in the winter!
i am currently reading all the bright places and i love it so far !! it is getting me out of my reading slump. it’s a bit sad but very heart warming, anywho i love all your videos !
Act Your Age , Eve Brown is definitely the best one out of the Brown Sisters Series, im reading them backwards cause i didnt know it was a series when i had gotten it but it is the last book and I personally lovedddddd it ✨✨
SARA AND HALEY UPLOADING THE SAME DAY>>>>>
i'm so obsessed with haley's books videos!!! they literally make my whole entire day/week WHATEVERRR ugh ilyyysssmm haley
When I read Midnight Sun, it was about Edwards POV when him and Bella first met.
what you’re describing would’ve been MUCH better but it’s essentially just like lion king 1/2 but with the twilight book
But there definitely are some slow parts and reading assasins blade as the 4th book is ESSENTIAL (i read it just before the last one and sooo much made more sense and haf more depth)
Also think that if you are in a kinda Throne od glass slump after the first few, assassins blade will get you out of it bc its a collection of novelas so it feels like really good short storys :)
I'm like having a nice book club with Haley in this vlog so much! 😍💖💖📚
Favourite book UA-camr!! I’m so excited!! 🤍🤍
I always hated books before I started watching you but now I LOVE books 📖
All the bright places was the book that got me into reading! I highly recommend you read it and it’s a very quick read as well!!
Read all the bright places I was literally balling my eyes out on the toilet it was so good
ahaaa i love that! i should def read that book soon🤗🤗also i recently started my own channel if ya wanna check it out~~i just posted my bake w me + advice session vid !!
SURPRISE BY JOY IS SO GOOD!! girly i’m telling you! i also didn’t expect it to be subtly funny like dude got me chuckling at a book
Read the Bell Jar! Just because it is a classic doesn't mean that it is hard to read, novels written in the 60s are written very similarly to modern novels.
little fires everywhere!!! read it and then watch the show!! so good
Hey I’m on Defy Me right now! That’s the one right after Restore Me. It’s realllllllly good, you should keep reading the series!
agreed!! i read defy me in like 2 days haha
I literally JUST finished Just Last Night this morning and it wasn't my absolute favourite rom-com ever but it was really good! The grief in the book honestly isn't too bad, there's a lot of drama that kind of covers up the grief. Closer to the end of the book there is a bit more sad grief, so obviously if it's too hard for you to read, don't, but I would recommend it!
you must read Aristotle and Dante it’s so good 💗
Agree! Such a beautiful story, happy tears
loveless is so good, i trusted jack's recs and it did not disappoint me..
Omg Haley you should read "when you get the chance" by Emma Lord it is chef kiss and definitely gives summer vibes ✨✨✨✨
Currently reading "crooked kingdom" and even though I've seen those spoilers too, it's an amazing book. Wylan best boy also Kaz is even more unhinged than in soc but makes sense and i love it
The Masterpiece is very good!! Not as good as redeeming love... But I flew through it because the story is very engaging. Read it!!
haley you have to read fable. it’s literally so good. i cant even believe how much i loved the mc AND the love interest, they were such like-able characters and i cant wait to read namesake
I laughed SO HARD when you said you couldn’t read that one book because it said “fracking” in it dhsjdbbd 😂
Since you like academic rivals to lovers, I would recommend Never Have I Ever...(the Netflix show)
You are one of the queens of booktube btw all the bright places has spice.
PLEASE FINSIH THE SHATTER ME SERIES. The second trilogy has tons of plot twists, and it just keeps getting better and better. :)
I really recommend The House In The Cerulean Sea, it’s YA and super cute. It does have small print but it’s not at all violent, all vibes.
You really should read the heartstopper series by Alice Oseman and after that you wanna read all of her books I promise! Also the netflix show is SO good
haleyyy i am LIVING for your book vids! i love your obsession ahh💞💞hope you’re well!
From someone who hates straight YA romance, Tweet Cute was actually quite good and I kind of enjoyed it which definitely means a lot from me
Also, as someone who is Alice Oseman's biggest fan, Loveless is amazing. It's one of my favourite books!!!
Really?? I also dislike straight romance but maybe I should try it out then
@@dreamingofthemoon it’s not to say I LOVED it nor do I thing everyone will.
Besides that, I really love Heartstopper or any Alice Oseman book, too! Currently going through all of them:) Though I am trying to read more wlw since A. I'm also wlw and B. I want to support the authors who often get less attention than mlm novels. If you have any wlw recommendations, let me know!!
aristotle and dante discover the secrets of the universe is one of my all time favs and it’s actually a very summery book and the time is coming girl
