Time to talk about Shaman! She's a wild lady with a hunger for flesh. How will her executions turn out?

If I remember correct Dahmer said that biting through a finger is as easy as biting through a baby carrot. It’s just a lot harder to do to yourself because your brain would try to stop you from inflicting harm on yourself. But if you’re as crazy and feral as shaman, I’d imagine a finger is just a little snack. Finger food if you would
For the biting executions, I'd argue that the human bite would cause a severe infection since they're sometimes said to be worse than dog bites, so whoever was bitten would probably die even if the bite wound was stitched up.

Human bites are definetly worse than dog bites. Unless the biter carries a disease like rabies. Humans have an extremely inconsistent diet due to being omnivores rather than carnivores which means that more cultures of bacteria can breed. Dog saliva contains antiseptic properties im pretty sure. But a dog bite has much higher pressure.
Someone did actually die because he tied a severed head to his horse as a trophy. It bit him on the leg while riding and caused an infection that killed him.
The human bite is the most lethal animal bite, also, you can bite through a human finger with the same force required to bite through a carrot.
That explains the zombie shows.
I like the first Shaman execution, while yes it doesn't feel like Shaman because she's more a wild animal type. A wild animal can be crazy and rabid but to me the scarier wild animal is a focused one. A wolf or a tiger focused on prey going for the neck despite their ferocious nature being calm and straight for the kill is pretty like Shaman in my eyes anyway.
Up to now tiandi and nuxia are winning which is rather weird but i like it
Actually Nuxia's the only one in the lead. Tiandi's dropped after the Hero Fest Execution released.

i like that most of her executions just result in blood everywhere like EVERYWHERE. i also believe a lot of soldiers would just say "nope" not going to even approach that thing.
I think Shaman is a prime example of why cool factor should have a heavier weight on scoring. A lot of characters have excellently well done executions in character and such, but because cool factor is waited equally to the other bits, it falls behind. Shaman's in character executions usually have poor efficiency which makes it seem like she's meh in execution.
I think "cool factor" could give a single bonus point to make up for another area.
If something isn't 100% efficient or realistic, but it looks cool (Like Warden's Blackstone Tackle) he thinks he gave a 2 for both of those, you can say Cool factor of 5 without compromising on the grading system
I feel the heavies and the hybrids have the best executions in the game. Most heavies use bigger, more destructive weapons that do lots of damage and most hybrids use very unique fighting styles and weapons that lead to some really cool executions. I’m most curious about Hitokiri though because they are considered the execution hero and I’m wondering how the grading will go for their realism considering the very large axe they wield.
Hybrids will suffer with Shaolin though

Looking at the Sacrifice Throw finisher at 0.25x speed, the dagger goes into the heart and the hatchet goes into the shoulder. Just helping out a bit
Once I saw an interesting observation on a certain funny green website. It goes somewhat like this:
“Reminder that the average shamans bite has enough pounds per square inch to chew through skin; meat; bone and forged plate steel. Averaging out how much is needed to break/puncture steel means her jaw can exert more pressure than a commercially available hydraulic press.”

It's up to you for what class you want to do next, but I think starting with Shaolin would be a great transition into doing the Hybrids next, if only because he got a new execution, and he plays like an assassin class.

I love Warden slowly accepting his fate in this one.
He first tries to choke Shaman during the initial pounce only to have his hand literally pinned to the ground. This however does not deter him, even if he definitely just lost his right hand permanently (his hand was diagonally pierced at the base by a kukri, that definitely severed a lot of major nerve clusters) there is still a way he can come out of the battlefield alive, so he tries to choke her again with his remaining arm.
However when she bites off his index finger, (and maybe even his middle finger) Warden's arm just flops to the ground.
At first I thought this was weird, I mean why would he suddenly give up after losing a finger? But then I remembered the context of the factions being at war; even if the Warden miraculously managed to overpower and kill Shaman, there's still hundreds of warriors, all in peak condition, waiting for him at the other side. His right hand is useless and his left hand is fucked, there's no way he's going to properly hold his sword with just 3-4 fingers let alone fight with it.
So his best option is to stop struggling and pray for a quick death.

Yeah, she’s just one that’s gonna be shafted by the cool vs efficiency factor. Fair observation. When I use her it’s when I’m really anxious to throw out those insane long executions.
I haven't watched the video yet, but I'm predicting we're gonna hear a lot of "for efficiency I gave it a 1".
Yeah, I kind of expected her efficiency to be lower, though I'm surprised the bite executions had higher lethality.
In execution after shaman smap's opponent neck she spits invisible finger into her hand
for the "Incorrigible" execution, I do think they're implying she bit off the fingertip, because after she stands up, she reaches into her mouth and seems to pull something out, look at it and stick it into some pocket on her belt. They probably didn't add the animation for the fingertip being bitten off because it'd be a bunch of extra time and work to model each individual hero to have a section on their model where they could visually remove the finger.

for the second one, it looks like she's actually striking the throat, so it should be a 4 for lethality
Time for a few personal takes on this one. I have Almost no personal disagreements though.
Head banger:
Honestly, one of my favorites. It is weird she doesn't grab the head and slam it into the ground that way, But I still use this one as one of my mapped longer executions for shaman. Partially because it's Cathartic. Same as Alarius's wrath for warden. I've said before in the streams I use For Honor and other games as an outlet to take out anger (And to Express the more Grim sides of my mind with dead by daylight.) And head banger is great for that. Beating the opponent's head into the ground and Cursing them out with each slam is usually how I use it. " Mother- *slam* fucking- *Slam* piece- *Slam* of- *Slam* shit!" (I'm the same way with unarmed beatdown and Resounding defeat. Extremely mean to whoever's on the receiving end of the pummeling. No voice chat, Just Bitter words to the tv lol) Also, I'd like to note, shaman wipes some sweat off her forehead during it. So the slams may look a bit weak, but she's still Slamming him down as hard as she can in her position. Also, I wonder. Would it be more lethal if the head was being driven into A solid concrete ground, Rather than Muddy dirt or a wooden floor? Even if it doesn't kill I'd wager repeated force to the skull like that would at least Cause a Concussion or loss of Consciousness from the head trauma or pain.
Incorrigible:
Gonna be honest, Raven. The only reason you don't see missing digits is because For Honor's engine can't handle it. She's not taking off tips, she bit off a whole finger or two. You even see her spit them out in her hand. I want executions where people get bisected or Lose eyes or fingers, Ubi doesn't render it because of For Honor's 3,000-Year old engine. Otherwise there would be fingers missing. I wish Shaman was actually holding an Organ in really get in there too.
Backing out:
Not much to Say, Scores make sense. But like Tobasu with Orochi, This one isn't an execution designed for use in flat areas like the level battlefield scenario used in your grading. It's another Ledging execution. She slits the throat and body checks them off a ledge to their actual death.
I guess the only grievance I have is that the Hypothetical "flat ground battlefield area" used in the grading doesn't leave room for Executions designed with high places in mind. But, It is what it is.
I'd also like to add sacrifice throw, I know blood is excessive in For Honor, but we see blood squirt from his neck when Shaman backs out. So we can atleast assume that he had a throat cut enough to squirt out that blood, taking that up to at least a 3 for lethality because we are assuming

I'll tell you precisely why you don't like the Shaman Timber execution: it's her hand motion during the chops.
She's angling her hits with a bent wrist essentially gonna be making her hits considerably weaker or can dmg her own wrist in doing so because she's not preparing for the impacts of the hatchet, the range of motion just looks.. off?
Not to mention that if their intent on cutting off the head, why is she only using her arm strength? Proper decaps use the whole range of motion for the body to generate the proper force needed to do that.. she's almost wantiing to smack them with the hatchet and t just happens to have blade alignment leading to the decap. It looks weird.
I could be wrong, but that's my reason for not liking this execution and really not knowing why I didn't like it.
Visually it looks derpy the more thought about it the more it made sense as to what I didn't like about it.

9:40 The throat does have the jugular vein which if it gets cut open, you will die in a few seconds and it will be an extremely unbearable few seconds of pain.
The jugular vein also cannot be stitched up which means once it gets cut, you're guaranteed to die.

Before this video, I have to admit, I had absolutely no idea Really Get In There was inspired by Aztec human sacrificial practices. That seems very interesting to me that this Viking/Norse/Scandinavian character would use an execution inspired by a practice done by a people on the other side of the Atlantic.
Nordics reached north america so it's likely they had contact with the locals. However I think shaman is not based on an indian native but rather in a pict, the body paint and the fact she bodies a centurion (romans got destroyed by pictish guerrilla tactics) in her trailer make me think that. I could just be reaching too much though

I think the timber “problem” has something to do with the follow through with the hatchet that takes off the head the hatchet would hit her hand and that she got it out AS it went through. That the dagger placement just feels off
I think the headbanger execution is more lethal than a 1. In regards to your comment about grabbing the head itself rather than the shoulders, yeah that would be more lethal for certain, but I don’t think that’s enough of a downgrade to merit a 1. By grabbing the shoulders, she is lowering the force of the blows, but she’s also introducing an additional force into the equation. Whiplash. The violent back and forth is going to cause additional brain damage and possibly break the neck in the process. The human head is actually quite heavy, and whipping it around like that is going to cause some damage. That’s why wrestlers when they take back/shoulder bumps are very careful to immobilize their heads. I’d have given it a 3 for lethality. Not absolutely fatal, but likely fatal or at the very least permanently incapacitating.

You better run definitely deserves a better lethality score, not for the strike itself, but for pulling out, which would cause tearing and warden would bleed out in about 30 seconds to 2 minutes

An average human bite can exert a force of roughly 80psi on the front teeth and roughly 200psi at the molars which is more than enough to even break some bones. A human will have a hard time breaking skin on themselves because the brain is so protective of the body it reduces the force you could exert similar to how we typically only use 30%-50% of our muscle strength in general to prevent tearing and excess damage

I think of shaman like a brutal animal, that is still very accurate and calculated. So i kinda disagree on the first rating there on the reasoning, yet i would also only give a 3 in cool factor, because it seems too basic for her

Ok I don't know why but when you call her Nibbles I'm imagining that meme of a Dad with a Dog (or Paladin with a Rouge if you're a DnD Fan). Where let's say you have a 3 man group of Lawbringer, Kensei, and Conqueror. Then one day the Conq comes home with Shamon and says "Hey guys I got us a Shamon her name is Nibbles." Then the Lawbringer saying something like "We can't have that beast with us she'll be a liability." It cuts to a battle with Lawbringer bashing someone away with his Poleaxe while cradling Shamon in one arm like a puppy. Only for Shamon to jump out and bite at the attackers throat and Lawbringer smiling under his helmet like he's watching his best friend having the time of their life.
Actually raven if you can bite thru a baby Carroll you can bite thru a finger. The reason you cant do this at any time is because the brain stops you to protect you from traumatizing yourself but with the adrenaline of battle you could definitely do it

I dislike how often the complete 360 flip is used. Like warmonger for example, her perforation execution, when she does that cool leg trip, it causes them to do a full flip. It’s just a little goofy in my opinion. Recently (as in yesterday) I’ve started really really getting into shaman.
I think the reason you don't like the neck chopping one, is that the swings just look almost rhythmic and uncomcentrarted, Not only does it not fit the idea of shaman being a rabbid and wild warrior, it's just not what any fighter would do, they would be full swing trying to knock the head off as soon as possible.

2:35 "too focused" in like too precise?
the name of the Execution, "Calming the Voices" probably implies that its out of Anger or more likely Hatred (i mean this person just tried to kill her, that causes Hatred no matter if its War or not),
"blind Rage" is a State that (ironically) causes some People (like a Feral, being one myself i know what i am speaking of, had a Situation like this once) to become super precise with their Strikes, so the Execution is really accurate there actually
the Hero is not called "Animal" the hero is called "Shaman", it's a Shaman, smart, knowing Stuff (Alchemistic Stuff mainly).
Why does it seem like everyone thinks of Shaman as a mindless Beast, she is a smart Beast, not mindless, being a Feral does have nothing to do with intelligence or combat Skill 😿.
all her Clothing features a variety of tools & ingredients for Witchcraft (or Shamancraft how i like to call this more... well, Shaman-Like variant of it) Fingers, Chiken Legs, specialised Knives, hollow horns that likely contain Herbpowder, Bags (you can see in the "Incorrigible" Execution that she spits out the Finger and puts it in the Bag that she usually as there on her Standard Clothing)
16:41 She fondles the back of the Head, so it's safe to say for me that it's not meant as Taunt, Jiang Jun has also an Execution similar to that one ("Stay Down") were the Opponent actually survives (i assume because) it's the only Execution that i saw so far that leaves the Opponent breathing,... Jiang Jun's Execution not Shaman's, if there was confusion

My guess is an overall 75%
Lethality will be high, Shaman is wild and aggressive like the wolves who taught her. I think she might even overkill at times.
Realism will also be high, she doesn't do much mystically, at least I don't think so.
Efficiency will drag her down though, again she is wild and untrained, she's not used to battlefield conditions and instead is far better suited for terrorizing supply lines.
Cool... this is personal but I personally don't like many of Shamans executions, though they are very personalities. Some of them are rather nice, such as the one where Shaman acts like a cub towards her opponent, as if she were a dog that did not intend to kill.
So yeah, overall 75% is my bid
I guess it's not quite savage enough to be cool for Shaman.
