This was a great game of a young Kobe (24) vs. an aging Michael (39). As others have said, have to give Coach Collins credit on the last play. Kobe was so obsessed with trying to shut down Michael that he opened up the flood gates for Stackhouse to come right through for the winning stuff. I don't think Michael schooled Kobe, or Kobe schooled Michael. If I remember from the Kobe highlights on another video, he did perform a small right to left crossover on Jordan and hit a runner on him. He also blocked Michael's fadeaway from the other side after he bullied him in the post for that turnaround jumper. This was not 86-87 Jordan or 05-06 Kobe. That would have been a treat to see. In my opinion Michael was more efficient, athletic, physically gifted, stronger, a better defender, a better leader, and more acrobatic finishing around the rim. With that being said, I think Kobe worked tirelessly on his jump shot and honed his other basketball skills to the point he was clearly a better outside shooter, ball handler, free throw shooter, and had slightly better footwork. Kobe had the benefit of being taught by Michael and patterning his game after him. Michael is and will always be the greatest of all time in my opinion. Some of his stats may be surpassed, but he is the greatest winner in a more competitive and skilled era than Bill Russell. These young guys learned the game from Michael, just as he learned from Dr. J. and David Thompson -- but Michael took it to a whole other level and became a global basketball icon and sports figure. No one will ever surpass his greatness. Even today, we still want to "be like Mike."

That fadeaway mj did is the toughest shot in basketball to hit consistently .that’s what makes mj the goat . He was just more talented and gifted than other players. .Kobe is just a cheap imitation of Jordan , he has no style or moves of his own .
A few observations in 2024: Won't lie. Him missing those free throws was and still is disappointing. High standards for the one and only 🐐. His body language is different especially when compared to guys like LeBron or Luka. No blaming after that Horry 3 from the corner. "He saved me tonight." He always praised the guys around him when they deserved it. I remember him saying they were using him as a decoy for that final play. And man, watch Kobe being VERY concerned about him and thus not being there for the helpside.
Commentator: Kobe has same work ethic but doesn't have the talent of Michael. Me: What?????? Kobe: proceeds to drop 55 on Jordan and Wizards in next meeting.
More similarities than differentiators between the two. MJ was Kobe's big brother. You know how little brothers are like... so competitive, yet still loving like family. RIP Kobe.

Rick fox was getting torched
This is the game MJ trashtalk kobe when he told to kobe that he can wear the shoes, but never fill them...
This is the game where Jordan said to Kobe, you can wear shoe, but you’ll never fit the shoes. Kobe made mj regret those world.
Kobe couldn’t guard MJ at almost 40 years old, do you think he would be able to guard prime MJ, lol.
That's why I'm sayin MJ in his prime would average 40-45 easy i dont care
Share, the GOAT.
Damn were you find this game
MJ ORIGINAL FADE AWAY POST MOVE VS COPY CUT KOBE BRYAN FADE AWAY!!!
SCHOOLED KOBE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
MJ just said that Phil had a guy that could combat him and even out the playing field, I know a dude in today's game that'll never say that instead he'd say some other dumb thing lol
I need to correct the commentator because Kobe didn't have the same kind of work ethnic. Kobe had very good work ethnic and not nearly as skilled but I still love Kobe and rip
@5:22 jordan draws 2 defenders on him INCLUDING Kobe... chess master
At age 40 he can score 25pts😂😂at kobe
He was 39 not 40
wow great last 2 minutes!!! jerry stackhouse wit the buzzer beater!!! MJ deserved to win against kobe at least one time lol 🫶🏽💜💛💯💯
This game really shows how good Michael was. The guy was taking it right to a young, hungry Kobe Bryant who was just entering his prime. Oh yeah jordan was in his 40s
that robert horry was an abuser in final moments almost damaged the game d jordan but kobe did not take off to jordan or a sec in the final 2 sec not knowing k the move was stackhouse
People don't realize Kobe Bryant R.I.P when he got hurt he had to change his game too 41 year MJ Wizard
Funny win!
Robert Horry that guy is a killer in clutch
@Greg Hubbard
No one ever rates him.
They just say he is clutch, which is true.
That fadeaway mj did is the toughest shot in basketball to hit consistently .that’s what makes mj the goat . He was just more talented and gifted than other players. .Kobe is just a cheap imitation of Jordan , he has no style or moves of his own .
Wow Bryon Russell and MJ on the same team 😆....that’s hilarious.
Kobe here still in awe MJ on the same court with him...
And they trying too compare LeBron to Goat 😂
Rest In Peace Kobe Bryant
I met Ty Lue outside before this game
Mj knows if he can't make the last shot he will pass the right guy
0:41 Any Bulls version of MJ, especially ‘88-‘91, would have sprang entirely clear of Kobe’s contest.
It's incredible how good this man was. Straight assassin
Yup Jordan at his peak could jump so high at his jumpshots
mj to kobe now you know
Is this the game after which he said to Kobe: you can wear the shoes but never feel them?
From executive down to be player's roster
There were like two plays on Kobe, but I guess mj “took him to school”
Did you not see that post fadeaway MJ hit on Kobe ?! Jordan was 39 and still schooling dudes
4 + plays kobe fouled him a couple of times
@@heywasgood1612 Kobe was going at him, refs ruined those battles by not letting them go at it.
A few observations in 2024:
Won't lie.
Where was Shaq in this game?
I think he was injured
Commentator: Kobe has same work ethic but doesn't have the talent of Michael.
Me: What??????
Kobe: proceeds to drop 55 on Jordan and Wizards in next meeting.
More similarities than differentiators between the two. MJ was Kobe's big brother. You know how little brothers are like... so competitive, yet still loving like family. RIP Kobe.
Lmaoo Jordan didn't even guard kobe because he was no longer a SG, Allen Iverson dropped 50+ plus on the wizards too are you gonna say he torched Jordan as well?
understandable. kobe was approaching prime. mj was almost 40 with a bad knee. but for him to ave 20+ pts at that age against young players is proof of greatness. he evolved his game. something other greats haven't done as they aged.
@@aaronjeruta3073 he can adapt and evolve...that man was 20 years ahead when he was playing...i bet he can adapt his game up to 2050...
1:03
And their. Best Game as Lakers vs Wizards.
UNC color!
Man kobe is just a copycat not even close
Hurry hit another clutch shot 😂🤣
Good game by a very twilight MJ, but without Shaq, these Lakers were decent at best 🤷🏻♂️
Shoulda posted kobes highlights too
This is the game that Michael said “You could wear the shoes but never fill them” to Kobe.
True and the next game they played against each other later that season Kobe got his revenge..
He got rescued by stack house
😂😂😂... Damn jordan was abusing kobe this game
my goodness.. kobe looks like at 6th grade pupil guarding GOAT. respect to #8,#24 , shout out to rick fox for being a clown guarding GOAT, more of a punching bag (sorry) hahaha or target practice....shame on those comparing him to the #KING. kudos to the coach on that last playing (MJ as decoy)...and MJ recognizing Stack.. humble...
3:08, 3:33.
Lbj have not on mj
HilariouS toying with kobe
And then Kobe Bryant took it personally and dropped 55 points on them next time.
because he knew that was the only chance to get jordan back because he probably knew jordan was retiring after this season
And once again the uploader leaves out the sick block kobe had on one of MJ's turn arounds that led to a 3 on the other end. Fuckin agendas. Pathetic.
