    For those who are not familiar, an “E with a C” is actually an E Major chord with a raised 5th note (B#, or C as George calls it) and it’s called an Augmented chord. It’s the exact chord that you hear at the beginning of “Oh Darling!” a year later. The second chord, where George plays an F Major and raised the F to F# is an F# diminished. George would go on to use both of these chords extensively throughout the rest of his career.

      @@bobjones8321 it's a bit of a struggle to find a guitar I can handle as I'm a short arsed wheelchair user so I find full size too big (like the dreadnought acoustic my Dad bought me once, bigger than me! Slight exaggeration but not much Lol) but I've found that Hofner shorty deluxe electric guitar which seems just right for me, it's only for learning on and playing for myself so I don't need anything high tech. And I'm looking at that boss katana mini amp to go with it.

      I ask myself how I lived without these "behind the scenes" all these years. They are so much fun to watch.     William Everett Preston,
    born in Houston Texas in 1946.
    Preston is one of only two non-Beatle musicians to be given a credit on a Beatles recording at the band's request; the group's 1969 single "Get Back" was credited as:
    "The Beatles with Billy Preston".
    He continued to record and perform with George Harrison after the Beatles' breakup, along with other artists such as
    Eric Clapton and the Rolling Stones on many of the group's albums and tours during the 1970s.
    On May 12, 2021,
    The Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame announced that Preston would be lnducted and receive
    The Musical Excellence Award.

      Many considered Preston the "5th Beatle". One of the great keyboard session men of rock. Climbed the chart's with a few of his own singles. His mother was on the Amos and Andy show. He also had a part in "St.Louis Blues" ( little kid ). Preston rendition of George's "My Sweet Lord" the concert for George simply mesmerizing. "Took it to Church".

      @@PaulJacobs1970 Play a C chord on piano: C2, C3, C4, E4,G4, then drop the two roots. B2,B3, C4, E4, G4. That's a B/C chord. .John, Paul, and George use this technique is so many of their classic songs.

      The 5th Beatle honorific has to go to George Martin for all he contributed! But yes for the Get Back sessions Billy Preston was the 5th band member and he contributed greatly to those sessions, would not have been the same without him.

    Billy added so much to this band and really added something different to make them unique. Probably purely by accident but it enhanced their sound. This band had so many transformations which is why they had 21 number one hits. All gems

    To me, at the time, the Beatles were magical and mysterious and astounding and glorious. But actually, they were just hard working talented blokes making great art and having fun. It was very like a job to them, but a damned good one. I like my fantasy better, but reality is quite fascinating as well.

      @@PaulJacobs1970 yeah it’s more of a 5th, but Augmented (raised a semitone). Popular in Jazz or some rock and blues. Used often as the 5 chord. So E+ (e g# c) leads to an A maj chord (a c# e). If you want an actual example, there is an Augmented chord used on piano as the intro to The Beatles’ Oh Darling

      @@PaulJacobs1970 fun thing to know about augmented chords is like diminished chords every note is the same distance away only instead of a distance of minor 3rds apart they are major 3rds apart. This means an E augmented is also a G# aug and a C aug. This is quite useful for key changes.

    Billy Preston was a child prodigy and a beautiful soul. He could play that big Hammond organ till it begged for mercy and he showed George how to sing “My Sweet Lord.” His extremely generous assistance enabled the Beatles to expand their musical horizons to include the spiritual uplift of American Soul.

    This is, school, for musician, because it is as the song is described, the passing notes become evident. As you hear the 3- note chord progression, the available grace, passing, and tension harmonics, are tested , like a legal theory.
    Guitar players, don’t intuit chord theory unless and until keybd players and horn players rearrange, or transpose key center. Capo fe guits. This is musical math that is proved while performing.🙏🏾

      All 4 could play some piano. But George was really needed on guitar. In the studio Paul, and George Martin could handle the piano work.
