Good tutorial Tommie. Keep the edges completely dry and free of moisture, storage/unscraped wax over base/edges, keep it in a full cover over summer it will look the same way you left it next season. Been doing this for decades.

Now this is a well needed video
My 15 year old board still has loads of pop, this is how: I store it flat and upside-down inside my board bag. I raise the nose and tail by resting the board on top of jackets and pants but leave a gap where the bindings are. All my other kit sits on top of the board, weighing down the binding area. This keeps the natural arc in the board 🏂🤙
@@tommiebennett Haha thanks mate. It won't save your base and edges though! Hopefully it works on more modern boards too 😁

Great video channel Tommie thank you. I personnaly add a thin layer of motor oil on the edges after the wax to keep them free from rust, especially on the sides. A friend of mine showed me this, I kept doing it and worked well so far.
Great video thanks for making it. Another way I protect your edges is a simple coating to a dry edge, with petroleum jelly like Vaseline

Great video! I'm wondering when you scrape the wax off after storage do you need to heat the board up to reopen the pores and soften the wax up? IDK it seems like the wax could get brittle after sitting for months. I just bought a new board. I coated it with wax, and left it so it would really soak up into the pores, but the season has been postponed due to no snow. The wax has been sitting on the board for over a month. Curious if you think I can just scrape and brush the existing wax, or if there's more steps I should do before I take her out for her maiden voyage.

Should you store it in a board bag standing up, or laying down?
Tommie- Gordon form Patreon here. If I am going to be jibbing on my board over the summer then I really don't need to do anything with it, correct? Also, when you put the final layer of wax on before you store, then you just scrape that before your first ride of the season? I guess my question is do you have to do anything with the board before you ride if you store it the may you showed us?
Its impossible for your edges to rust if you put wax over it. Metal cant rust if there is no oxygen.
