Is it possible to remove either the top cover (the panel with the service tag sticker and side cover removal latch) or bottom cover (the panel with rubber feet)? I would like to set the system up in a radio cabinet in desktop form, but it is ~half an inch too wide to fit. I believe it would fit if one of the panels were not present.
My T5500 workstation Power supply is gone planning to buy new one but in the market all are used smps please suggest any new brand compatible 875w smps for dell 5500
Hi, i only tested with this dell t5500 RAM DDR3 ECC Registered Kit (PC3-1333, DDR3-1333MHz) you can buy on ebay used. www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=m570.l1313&_nkw=MEMORY+FOR+DELL+PRECISION+WORKSTATION+T5500&_sacat=0&LH_TitleDesc=0&_osacat=0&_odkw=DELL+PRECISION+T5500+RAM
is replacing a motherboard in a dell t5500 just a simple swap? i am having ram memory problems and think that the main board is bad. i have 72Gb installed only 12 is showing.... just replaced the secondary CPU / memory riser board and still only 12 showing. i think its a mother board issue? was going to try to get a new Motherboard? please let me know what you think.... thanks!
Mxkdi thanks for getting back with me. I did replace the battery for the cmos. The ram is brand new, not sure if it is matched - don’t think so, but new and made for my dell t5500. It’s the correct DDR3 8gb sticks ecc 1066 or 1333 whichever is compatible and should be fine. I was getting the memory not recognized in dim 3 slot. I think that’s a common error for t5500’s so I think it’s the main motherboard. Will the computer fire up after replacing with a new board? I’m sure I will need to install new bios drivers but is there anything else you have to do to get windows to run on a newly installed MB?
@@JohnBrown-nk4on Hi John did you get any further with this? I have a similar problem with 6x4 Gb sticks in the main/riser. Was getting intermittent DIMMs errors and then a solid "4" light indicating CMOS issue. Going to try to reset the BIOS with the RTCSRT and PSWD jumper reset. This has been with me from new and I love how scalable and robust the machine is. Any ideas for a good source of mobos for this machine? I'd love to keep it running for another 9 years!
is it possible to remove the power supply unit without taking out the motherboard? mine is faulty and i wanted to replace it but without entirely disassembling the cpu. please help
Hi my friends, I have questions about my dell precision t5500 I use two cpu 1-no problem I put two graphics cards like :two 1050ti in the system there will be no problem ?If not, 2-there is no problem that the graphics are different like: one gtx other rtx? 3-and the mb Can get electricity goodly??
Oh nahi bhai gee. Namumkin! This PC is almost 90% proprietary. Motherboard is too big, CPU, RAM slots and the northbridge have different locations than ATX specifications and lastly, the front panel I/O connector is 100% proprietary. About the only thing that seems to be ATX compatible is the PSU and the dual intake fans, and that's it! So basically, if the motherboard dies, you'll have to throw away the whole PC, because you won't be able to find replacement motherboards anywhere.
@@Sam-K it can be fixed in E-ATX case i have done it with T3500 i moved it into cooler master cubic case(i dont remember the model but it was big cube shape, yes front panel is little pain but i found the solution of power reset jumper in google, however i used the different psu bcoz the psu of t3500 died and that was the whole reason to move the board ino the different case to make it a bdget gaming pc with the nice touch of rgb fans
Thank you for the video. You helped me figure out how to take out the power supply, and because I could do that, I could save my computer!
