Hi. Just found your channel and enjoying your vids. I'm in the process of moving back up north and have fished the Tees a few times recently near Piercebridge. I'm trying to learn euronymphing so can I pick your brains a bit please... Q1. Are you using nylon straight through to your sighter and tippet or do you use one of the dedicated fly lines (2 or 3 cm thick type)? and Q2... I've tried on the Tees but as soon as the point fly gets to the bottom it gets swallowed up by the rock and boulders and snags solid, even if using minimum weighted flies. Any advice please? Cheers
Hi Steve, the tees can be tricky around piercebridge, the best advice I can give for that stretch is if you keep hitting bottom change to a lighter fly and keep it active. What I mean by active is manipulate the fly by raising your rod tip or pull it through the run a little faster than the current. I know that stretch is hard to nymph and I have the same problems as you but it does help by lifting the flies ect through the run. Hope this helps

Thanks, the New Zealand wool method works great too and I do use it from time to time especially in deep water when I’m after grayling in winter 👍🏻

It’s houghall collage water (opposite bank to Durham angling club water)

@@sa-hz1bo it’s just up from the island, where I hooked and lost the fish on the streamer that was the pool up from the island.
