Vinyl is one of those things where we think carefully if we want a certain track on vinyl. Has to be more than just a good track.. heart has to go into it as well as effort. .

They ruined my sl1200s. Had to take it to a tech to have the tone arms rewired and replace the pc board that the rca’s go to since they burnt the copper leads. Same thing happened to 3 other djs I know.
Damnit for the life of me i wish i could afford a set of technics 1200s atleast. im stuck using low budget stanton or the 250.00 audio technica's. dont get me wrong theyre great TT's especially for the price, but nothing beats technics. just like if youre a midi dj, you want some pioneer cdj's and djm but you end up getting controllers. i love both styles tho which is why i think using a traktor S2 or S4 as your mixer is amazing. you get all those controls on the midi, plus the greatness of TT's

Hate the digital pitch on the 5G - less accurate and laggy compared to mk5 or *analogue setup* M3D, on a 1200 mk2/3/4. Really hated using M5G's the one time I've encountered em, I got used to it but it sucked, apart from the reset quartz button and stuff like that.

Was a bit confused by the Jazzy Jeff Serato CVs - I mean, maybe they are 'designed' nice, to the right slippiness and weight that JJ wants.. but the only 'custom' thing you can see if slightly different labels and a fancy cover for em. Gotta test em out more - was really unhappy with the Premier picture discs, surface noise to hell.. and it's actually smarter to have plain black and no 'actual' music on it, so they last longer/2 more CV sides..

As much as I say this hurts me seeing new 1200M5Gs get sanded, airbrushed, and cut for the Dicers, I do love seeing Jazzy Jeff's reaction to the finished product. If you guys do a wonderful factory 24k gold restoration on a 1200LTD next, that will make me happy. Personally, I wouldn't do this to my 1200s, but I have to admit, the results look great!

That setup has nice covers on it...they are just covers that you can order and it's not messing up the surface at all. I'm in the process of patenting my own design for the 1200s and hopefully it will increase the love for the future of these great turntables. I have the only ones on the planet that looks like mine when you see them. Mind blowing actually.
