I really wonder if wearing the helmet wasn't a mistake. Hitting the water at 123Kmh feet first, he was instantly decelerated significantly, compressing his spine. An instant later, as he was probably still traveling at a speed in excess of 80Kmh, that helmet became an instant "aqau-parachute", causing more rapid deceleration. Firmly strapped to his head, he's lucky it didn't cause an Atlanto-occipital dislocation....effectively a separation of your skull from your spine while leaving your head attached to the tissue of the neck. No wonder he appeared to be rather shaken up as he exited the water. But at least when he is 65 (assuming he lives that long if he keeps doing things like this) he'll know why he can't turn is head any more.

Essentially if you can jump from that high and land a perfect pencil dive then you will be fine 😂😂 but there is pretty much zero room for error.
@@Utodyssey Yup if you panic your dead or seriously injured
I'm impressed he jumped with all the climbing gear on his hips. I imagine that metal slamming against his body felt like someone took a hammer to him.
I was thinking that. seems like rib breakers
I jumped from 4 feet with eyes closed.
The view from his perspective is just inconparable to watching it.
I can't imagine how many years of training is needed to jump off something.
None. The training is to survive it.
@@bruceleroy8063 lol true i Could jump of that ez lol
Being stupid doesn’t need training
Not many years of training, just a brief moment of stupidity.
@@hb1338 it would take hundreds of jumps to learn the perfect body position and stick to it at this height. There is no room for error here.
You would also need those jumps to condition your joints and tendons to the impact.
Otherwise you would break.
I used to do this when I was younger. Jumped from a 75’ bridge Lake Lilinoa Ct. I never knew the actual depth of the lake there so I never went in fully rigid but always ended up with tail bone ache and enema at the entry. The rush is comparable to the first drop on a roller coaster 🎢 hill.
75' is daunting, but this guy did 193' which is unimaginable for just about everyone in the world.
You said it’s a rush like a roller coaster, I’m wondering how that rush of water felt blasting up your a$$! Maybe your into that sort of thing!
I like how everybody read the comments and decided the jump they made as a kid had to be between 75-85 feet to keep up with everyone else.
this jump was 192 ft. golden gate bridge is 220 ft. people who jump off that bridge die 99% of the time. let that sink in.
Absolutely nuts how he survived this! I once jumped a 40ft cliff and my the balls of my feet were bruised for months, can only imagine the impact of jumping from this height.
I had a mini panic attack from the camera looking down view. 😩
I once jumped from the 5 meter and burst both my eardrums. This is insane !!
Respect ✊ I could never do it ……looking at it from standing at the edge of the board waiting to jump shows how scary it actually is there didn’t seem a lot of clearance there when he hit the water
check out Dante Varona jumping from San Juanico bridge in the philippines
He survived because before he hit the water he transformed into a totem of undying.
What's really amazing is that his big giant Ko Jones, could fit on that little platform with him!!
😬 I can't even go 3 rungs up a ladder without freaking out a little.
Remember when they use to wear nothing but speedos doing these dives, not helmets, pads and safety gear.
That hug, those eyes closed, he appreciating him while he could...
This guy is completely insane...and yet I envy him.
This is a skydiver without a parachute:

Ex Navy here.....we would have quickie classes on proper abandoning ship, now being on a carrier, flight deck being way above 60 plus feet, if I remember right, about 80 or so....our instructor (a chief) said, "guys anything above 40 ft, if you hit wrong, you might as well jump onto a parking lot". Navy Chiefs.....always up front! By the way.....anyone remember the jump off the water fall in the movie, "Predator"? That was up there too.
Just a day ago i was thinking, only thinking, what was the highest jump in the water.
And now UA-cam casualy gives me this in the feed.
Synchronicity at its best...
Just today I was watching diving on Olympics, then on UA-cam On Mostar Bridge and now finally I am reading book in Swedish "Ett hål i isen" and in the first chapter Oliver Favres previous dive is mentioned.
Nice jump. In Scotland we jump off cliffs into the sea. This is higher. Respect brother and peace.
Did a few cliff dives last time I was in cypress, Beautiful county and a beautiful ocean 🌊
That took serious guts, but to call this a dive isn't exactly right. It was a jump, not a dive.
Bro you are a fing beast and truly a BOSS. Keep on sending 🤙
Amazing! The highest I've dived from is a cliff some 12m high (like a 4 storey building) near Torre dell'Orso, in Salento.
And I had my glasses in one hand, otherwise it would have been much more difficult to climb up the cliff after the swim.
The guy that invented the "Mute Button" should have a National Holiday named after him.
I'd walk up the the edge, look down and be like "yeah nevermind."
Glad this was the full version. What part of the jump did they skip in the abridged version?
Probably the part where he actually dove.
you really had to ask on a 2 minute video? LMAO
Crazy, I wouldn't do it. Total respect regardless of the height it was way higher than anything I would consider for me. I am biased because I think Rick Winters first ever attempt of 172-ft high dive was more nerve racking for me.
And he did it in a Speedo with two flimsy knee braces.
I uswd to be good with heights. Was airborne, air assault in the 101st Airborne. After I got out something changed and I developed a phobia if heights. Crazy! Even watching this sent chills down my back.
Honestly thought he wasn’t going to surface, because those huge balls of steel dragging him to the bottom
Phenomenal camera work!!!
I have always enjoyed cliff jumping. It's a pretty popular summer activity where I live. I've gone off some pretty high ones, we used to have a spot right next to a waterfall where u jump from aways above the waterfall and end up falling next to it. It was around 60-70 ft. Measured with rope. So give or take some ft. The turbulence after landing was very intense. I can only imagine what this one would feel like.
One of my former fire fighting buddies decided to jump in some water off of something about a decade ago and hit the back of his head on something. It paralyzed him and he has been living in a home that cares for people ever since. Also unrelated he lost his main house he lived in a fire last year that his kid was living in.
It's not falling that kills you, it's the sudden stop at the end.
Einstein here
He could be heard all the way down saying "so far so good, so far so good".
The first-person GoPro footage had me thinking ‘no no no, I don’t wanna, I don’t wanna’ even lying here under the covers. 😂
When he exited the pool he said "I forgot to take my belt off"
That water hole is plenty big but wow it looks TINY from that height. That alone is terrifying
1:24 falling for 4 seconds! Poor Loki!
I can remember years ago standing at the edge feeling sweaty and nervous, everything seemed so far away and so small i could barely make out what they were. i went for it. BooM i landed!! Im still alive.... my mum went mental as she thought i was coming through the ceiling. i was never aloud to jump off the bunk beds from that day on.
"... if we listened to our intellect, we'd never have a love affair. We'd never have a friendship. We'd never go into business, because we'd be cynical. Well, that's nonsense. You've got to jump of cliffs all the time and build your wings on the way down ..."
what the hell is this guy on about? lol i listen exclusively to my intellect and have plenty of friends, a fulfulling marriage, and have been pretty successful in business. i just don't want to jump off a fuckin cliff, i think it's cool that you do and i'm watching the video but why do you have to judge the rest of us for not doing it?
This will go down in the history books for at least a year.
