    Thank you very much for posting this. I just got a Fireball Yellow Meteor 350 two weeks ago, and my Airfly Evo engine guard arrived today from an eBay seller in India, but without instructions. Your video was great, and allowed me to take care of the installation.
    The only minor concern I had was that there's a stiff wire loop that guides the clutch cable, which is held in place by one bolt in that upper area, and the very end of the guide is bent, such that it enters the other hole. I wound up snipping off that bent part at the very end, and, as the factory did, putting the loop part of the guide underneath the bolt head (on top of the engine guard piece), as it was before. I was also puzzled why I was sent three of the very large washers; I only used two of them, the way you did.
    Thanks again for a very useful video. The RE community owes you a beer or something.

    Thanks for the video, just fitted the same bars to my meteor. The instructions in the box were printed very faintly and very small so this was a big help!

    Just bought my own Meteor 350 and went with the octagon engine guard for it. The instructions that came with it were laughably tiny, like business card size in a 1 pt. font! Royal Enfield, please, couldn't you have even tried? So your video here helped a lot, thank you. Also dug you Ferris Bueller reference - cheers!

      Yes, the instructions were ridiculously tiny and useless. Glad the video helped and nice to see people say long enough to see me do a goofy bueller reference 😜

    Your video inspired me to order an engine guard. I reviewed it again today then went out in the garage and installed it. Your video was an excellent compliment to the instructions. I ordered the chrome version and after checking, installing, rechecking. and reinstalling everything seven ways to Sunday I noticed the bars are not exactly parallel to the ground. It is not a big deal but it does rub my slight OCD the wrong way just a little. :-) Again, thanks for the video!

    Thanks for posting this! I was nervous about ordering one of these even though I wanted to because I'm not super handy, but your video made me think I could manage to install this thing so I've ordered one now. It's so hard to get accessories for the meteor in the US, for some reason!

    Great video! just got the stainless Trapezium bars for my Classic 350, ( same fitting as Meteor ) as other posters have noted, the instructions are tiny, but if you go on the Indian Website, full instructions can be downloaded, six A4 pages with really good pictures.
    The parts list is wrong in the instructions, they say four 16mm long bolts and two 12mm, it should be the other way round.
    Incidentally ( Jan 2023 ) for anyone in the UK, Moto GB who were the importers of Royal Enfield ( R E are having their own import business now) seem to be selling off all their accessories at about 25% discount, so a good place to buy from. Ride safe

    Thanks for posting this! I'm thinking about getting engine guards for my bike too, but I haven't decided which ones to get yet. Hitchcock's Motorcycles in the UK carries everything Royal Enfield; they carry three or four different ones, and I haven't decided which ones I want yet. BTW, I have the same bike as you: the RE Fireball Yellow Meteor 350.

    Appreciate the video. The tiny instructions that came with the engine guard were impossible to read, so your video was perfect for me. I’m curious about the torque wrench you used. What make/model is it? I’m looking for one with an audible beep, but can’t seem to find.

    Hi, I ordered the same Engine Guard KXA00003, and it came with the Style B brace mount. I don't think it has about the same spacing as your brace mount (Style A from the instructions). However when I try to connect the Guard to the wide part (bottom) of the motorcycle frame (at about 8min) in your video, the guard doesn't fit, the spacing is too narrow about 1in.
    Any thought why?

    • @MessyGarageBMW
      @MessyGarageBMW  Рік тому

      I looked at the instructions on their site and it looks like you need the style A brace mount. I'm not sure if the Style B brace is for another bike (possibly the classic 350) but it looks narrower which would then cause the bottom to be narrow like you describe. I would contact whoever you ordered it from and see if they can provide the style A brace to you. Sounds frustrating. I hope it works out.

      I had the very same issue, wrong brace. The Indian supplier was very apologetic, he said he just forwarded the box, as received from RE . I ordered a new guard from him for ten dollars, and received the correct brace (only). Excellent video, many thanks @@MessyGarageBMW

    Great tutorial Messy from Tel Aviv! - am I wrong when I want to buy the Chrome engine guard for my Meteor 350 royal enfield stellar black? - can you suggest if beyond personal taste there is any other factor or parameter I should consider?

    Were the torque specs written in the instructions?
    I recently removed the frame bolts on the left side of the bike to adjust my gear lever and I couldn't find any torque settings for them, so I just nipped them back up to what they felt like when I took them off.

    • @MessyGarageBMW
      @MessyGarageBMW  Рік тому +1

      Yes, I got the torque specs from the written instructions with these parts. You are likely okay doing it by feel but I would just check it after a while to make sure nothing is backing out.
