“The greatest enemy of knowledge is not ignorance, it is the illusion of knowledge.”
All knowledge is illusion
The ignorant will learn, but the 'knowledged' ones would find it harder to rewire their minds.
@@manujohn99 what are you smoking?
Th illusion of knowledge is ignorance lol

Really very beatiful.....he haven't made an argument saying no or yes but make us curious that there may be life outside.
That's what we are almost always saying in genuine literature. It's how you say you don't know that counts.
People like Mr. Banerjee are less known in India and politicians are more famous. Sad.
Yup.
Media likes drama and controversies.
I don't think so man. Banerjee was personally hosted by the hon'ble Prime Minister as soon as he landed to India. In fact, one of the purposes of Nobel is to award them to lesser known people, so that more folks know about them. Have a look at the comment section, more people know about him now than ever.
It's not just India . It applies everywhere else as well .
@@VivekTiwari03 we bengalis do not bother what losers think...we r alaways remain cultured as well as winners
I had the privilege of meeting Didier Queloz when he came to my school to give a talk. I was one of the few students invited to have lunch and talk with him. Very down to earth and charismatic person, extremely knowledgeable but he was able to explain difficult concepts in a way in which I could understand. I'm very happy to see that he has won a nobel prize. Thoroughly deserved.
And maybe you're the next one to sit with him
he really seems very charismatic
I can say only one thing... you were very fortunate. And I am hailing from Prof Banerjee's home city, Kolkata.
I’m a 17 year old and I love watching these one day maybe one day I will sit at that table
Same here man....gb us😂💫
Now that's a goal to strive for all the best
The goal is to enjoy what you love in life, not to sit at a table for a useless award. There is absolutely no need for this other than to acknowledge hardworking people.
nope joking XD yes you can
May you work hard enough and also be fortunate to be able to get there.
Having spent 51 yrs as the daughter of a brilliant research chemist (albeit not a Nobel Prize winner) I can not tell you the amount of joy I felt listening to these Laureates.
You can take the person out of the laboratory, but never take the laboratory out of the person.
I would listen to my father for hours on end and never tire. It made no matter that I couldn't understand most of what he was saying!!!
I truly thank you all.
As the saying goes, "I like your funny words magic man."
Such an honor! I had a similar experience with my father who was a scientist. The awe and inspiration they provide their kids is priceless!!
@@suryarp Hi, I should admit that these special words made me speechless and made my day.. Your father is the one needed to bright the future generation. I hope you nice future
I personally preferred the 2017 format in which the Nobel Laureates were given a lot more time to interact amongst each other wherein the conversation just flowed without much mediation. This format seems a lot moe like a news panel mediated by an anchor.
Aditya Tamar who cares about the format? No comments on their work or new insight that wasn’t discussed?
I think this one is perfectly fine.
@@YMHop Well that was the format, before ideas were discussed and flowed at these ceremonies but now of course in 2019 or 2020 and so forth they are a news cast nowadays
Well maybe that was good for you, I haven't seen that, but this is how it's supposed to be presented
Bob Bil: That is the format. More interviewer-lead discourse == less interviewee-lead discourse.
6:40 "I base my career on curiosity ..." Wise words.
Thanks to Nobel for fillming and posting this video for all to watch online!
Imagine a table like that could decide on global matters. I wonder how earth would look like now?!
It would be nice if they at least had a say in these matters.
People wouldn't listen to them. Because it's effortful to stay in right way always
It would be worse thant it is. Globalism makes no sense, we need regionalism, freedom and diversity.
Yeah. Giving maximum political power to a few technocrats so they can decide what's best for everybody. What could go wrong?
@@marcomartinsazevedo407 genius comment
One thing I take away from all those Nobel Minds conversations is passion. They really enjoy doing what they do and the prize is just a byproduct.
The Noble Minds series inspires me more to become a scientist myself. Hats off to all the laureates and their incredible achievements.
I graduated in 6 months.
Do it!!
It's been fun but you have to choose a cause and science you are most passionate about or it can be a drag.
I am ecology, I love it but I HATE my biomedical classes, hate it.
Do a science that makes you passionate or science can be the most boring, tedious job on earth.
yeah, you could become one, just try to find your domain(field ), and then discover new things. The key is to stay persistence over a prolonged period of time.
Go for it Ishani.... The world needs more people like you
hey, what are you working on
@@muhammadraffay6699 I'm so proud to see these comments that prove how the future generation will shine as a bright star.
“There is a cult of ignorance in the United States, and there has always been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that 'my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.”
― Issac Asimov
Cult of ignorance, but compared to what countries?
@@boxerpete4261 All other developed countries
I'm feeling really stupid and useless now
don't feel that
I'm sure you are good in something
YOU ARE GREAT!. YOU ARE A MASTERPIECE!
Why?
Hmm..imagine everyone on that table achieve so much in their respective fields.
The fact that you’re even commenting on here says otherwise!
You see how humble they are but ready to stand up to what they believe in. Im trying to be like that.
I have been waiting for this prestigious round-table since last year. This planet needs more such Nobel minds and human beings. I wish these laureates a very happy Christmas and a progressive new year ahead. May you all stay healthy and blessed.
The one year show
For the first time in my life I watched a 47min youtube video and heard every second of it. This video is just pure celebration of mankind and our civilisation.
THE MOST HONOURABLE ROUND TABLE CONFERENCE EVER. ..HATS OFF! !!
really , i would say last year the round table was much more interesting to listen to, also 2017 was *much* more catching the attention.
Wow.. what an incredible round table. Thank you Nobel for doing this show. Also the reporter really upgraded her performance this year.
Agreed. Anyone knows her name?

This is fifth year that iam watching ,never seen this many desi people in comment section
The power of Bengalis
This is true I have been watching this since 2011...when I was in 10. I have seen increase since these with a dip only in 2013. But this year is different because Dr. Bannerjee is born Indian citizen.
That's pure economics of accessible inexpensive data plans. It takes people everywhere.
Haa! Hi Brother
@shatter gee plz don't put a human beings in caste systems
Golden 47 mins or maybe 1hr+ with my pauses. I enjoyed the communications rather than trying to think of their points, i might need to see it again but its worth it. This is amazing!
I want to see how Dr. Sheldon Cooper behaved in this table and how he his mocked fellow laureates.
😂😂😂 specially with geologist..
Me also .that would be astonishing 😄
lol sure why not 🤣
Bazinga
They'll all be mocking him😆
I have made it a habit to watch every edition of this interview a year since 2017.
Forever blown by these great minds. Humanity thanks you.
Videos like these should be getting million of views ...
This discussion is best thing I've seen so far in 2020.
4:00 I loved how she handled forgetting his name and peeking down at the paper. Absolutely hilarious
Nice! 😁 Zeinab is a brilliant presenter. Not caring what the critics have to say about her.
Some of the smartest people of the human species. I look at them in awe.
As a means to improve my personal social interactions and challenge myself to think, and absorb knowledge, and ideas from great minds and people motivated by improving the well-being of the world....... I love tuning in to these discussions....... I'm grateful for everyone that gives of their time to share their knowledge with us. THANK YOU! Everytime I watch one of these events I enjoy the intellectually stimulating conversation and challenged to think. My thirst for knowledge leaves me wanting more, but I'm grateful for whatever time and frequency everyone is willing to share. Many more of these would be nice.
I love the winners, but i am so happy and proud of the hostess for being smart enough to develop dialogue amongst just a diverse and intelligent group of guest you could think of.
conversations between elevated minds always inspire...!!! it was a great experience listening to them..!!!
I always walk away wanting more. :-)
Nicely curated video with the greatest intellectual people present on the planet sitting at a round table discussing about their work and present situation of the world & the future..
The Round table... should definitely be of larger format of at least 2 hours or more.
Their Mother - Role Model for 3 Noble Minds 2019..🙏 🙏 🙏

His words alone vibrates my mind.
I love listening to older people because the wisdom they have from just living and then studying the world and their inner world.
Very beautiful indeed.
They should do something like this for awardees of one subject over a decade or so...
Really smart
I can not wait to here the discussions this year
Their passion is an inspiration.
Awesome, I’ve been waiting for this.
Ms Zainab is fantastic, very skillful job to run the conversation naturally and still make sure everyone gets a chance and whole program limits to 50minutes
It feels warm to listen brilliant minds
This is so amazing to be able to watch such an amazing talk! I am incredibly grateful to this opportunity!
Finally, been waiting for this!
So grateful for this round table. We honestly need each of the Nobel Laureates to go on Joe Rogan & many other podcast shows. Spread the knowledge far & wide.
Why, that’s the most rambunctious huddle I’ve enjoyed watching in recent times!
Nice english my man
Really nice!
This needed to be 10 hours long!!
30:50
That's the most profound moment at this juncture of time.
Very well said professor.
45:40 harnessing passion. It's just so much fun and inspiring to see these legends are still passionate and full of curiosity
When we believe in science we can feel the Singularity of knowledge and wisdom from myriad of fields!
physics and science is sometimes a bit difficult to follow, But I found this fairly easy to follow..... Hope they do many more of these,
Great platform to see n hear the laureates share their their views together, fortunate to hear them n congratulations to them.
Was looking forward to this
You all inspire us every single day.
I Shed Tears of JoY...just hearinG their simple Yet Uncomplicated Explanations for People of Average minds and level of understanding..
Can I THank You For Simple Reasons?
I love that their mothers instilled in them the desire to help others.
Ahhh been waiting for this so long !!!!!!!!
Im 24 years old and i want to thanks all the novel prize winners cause you guys r real hero...
Lol people act like their superhumans there has literly been multiple Nobel prices won by accident it's not a godlike thing
Noble minds focused on Noble work. Checking and tweaking that economic development actually trickles down to the needy. Much success to all three
Imagine if Feynman was there.
might b hi
He would probably be described as a "heretic" by a some attendees. I'd like to see him there.
Listening to these people is a blessing by internet world
The only table I would actually want to sit at. What an honor! 💕
Or be taught by them or do research in them- just do decent in school - high school or college. That's it. Just want it, listen, all question. Scientific careers are straightforward, free.
What is weird is that if you make movies based on life of these laureates it would get more views but if we make videos where they themselves speak it gets a lot less attention. Surprising behavior of our society.
My appreciation goes also to the host - she is so confident and vibrant
Loved the little physics-economics exchange from 17:26
This seems like one of the happiest round tables out of all the previous ones in a while.
I really love that video! Thank you so much!
I love what you learn about their personalities and discoveries in such a short period of time. Physicists incredibly impressive intellectually, economists in their wisdom and others in their experimentation.
I was kinda waiting for this video
Yay! I’ve been waiting for this. :)
OMG< please make more videos like this! TRUE GEMS
what a beautiful round table conference !!!!
It is
Remarkable interview with beautiful minds and excellent mediator. Many thanks.
I still enjoy this gathering of modest and knowledgeable people joyous. however the previous format where laureates engaged in conversation with each other was much better. like the historic conversation of Higgs and his fellow physicist in 2013 session
Very good but too short. Cannot wait for next year!!!
i cant believe something like this channel exists. :) subscribed!
Thank you for an interesting video. It is great to hear all the different opinions and perspectives of Nobel prize candidates/winners.
Very good discussion.
I wish to Noble Prize laureates could visit our schools and interact with our younger generations who are our future leaders. It's seen to be an elitist club unreachable to local communities in my country.
Thanks to the chemistry guys, you are watching this on your smartphones and laptops
yess.. we are all using li-ion batteries in our technology devices.
Its more physics related than chemistry
I was waiting for this
it's like a board of wizards lol
"We are designed for this planet" Beautifully said.
Notable noble assembly,!
Creat awareness, really fine to listen to noble laureates who have expressed their views about their works, congratulations, thanks for uploading such masterpieces,
Esnther duflo and Abhijeet Banerjee are such relationship goals 😍☺️
But the whole discussion gives me so much hope
What I understand from these most educated people is not to be sure all the time ,they don't necessarily conclude but they always highlight to study things more.
We are grateful.
Sad that she didn't ask Peebles anything about dark Matter/Energy. She kept asking about science fiction. He had to say there are better things to think about.
Respected ma'am,
Thank you for sharing.
Wow I’m surprised to know about the efforts that she was able to do and see the humanitarian support especially mentioning El Salvador with her mother going there to help the children 💙😭
I enjoyed so much and learned a lot on this traditional round-table discussion from the noble and Nobel minds of these wonderful scientists! I observe one commonality among them: the passion to discover something new within their respective chosen sphere of science and interest and use it for the benefit of mankind! During their discussion, I sensed out the profound concern each one has on climate change which serves to affirm its reality and the urgency to mitigate it on a global scale. At the concluding remarks, I find it inspiring and encouraging as most of them affirms personally to continue working on their chosen field for as long as they can which is a time-tested effective way to discover something new, while noting on the need to address the here-and-now human needs and concerns as well! Thank you.
Going to become one in upcoming years
In what field do you plan on making a breakthrough?
Thats quite bold of you
Well, good luck
There are more nobel laureates in the world than the ones that were actually chosen. I wish you the best success but remember if you are not chosen it doesn't mean anything you might even be better qualified than the ones that were :)
Go for it love.
Physics is reality.. Dr James Peebles is the real or miningfull knowledgeable person... I love his ideas and suggestions and comments about climate change.
How come people can dislike this kinda content .
Thanks for your insight .
I fairly love this discussion. One of the great minds sitting in this table.
Thank you so much
It was a wonderful meeting!💚💚💚
The ending should be a happy memory.
The more I understand the Nobel Prize,
The more I respect and admire Nobel Minds
Thank you for your kindness

Great discussion. Thank you all.
Love the conversation flow.
How can we help to translate this videos without upload in another account without the monetization?
