Yang will sell the americans further to the chinese. No one does (for now at least). You guys need to stop underestimating Trump just because he is very simple in his speech. He has very smart people behind him. He is not an idiot. People who fail to realize that you can have marginal positions (or even wrong ones), and be a simpleton in some areas and still be smart and consciencious, fail to understand how a man who runs companies and big amounts of individuals and can maintain a fairly decent positioning in politics regarding the constitutional knowledge and burocratic processes, needs to be a person capable of a transversal understanding of people beyond depth and speciality, but practical and direct; people that are too pround and smug to recognize that to be Trump you need some proficiencies to play his roll, fail to realize why he won in 2016, and you keep failing to give him his due, even if you disagree with him in some of his perspectives and positions. Trump is a very rude individual, but he is also a very practical and to the point person. • @koroglurustem1722
      @koroglurustem1722 4 роки тому +3

@Aramsawafer good to see how you buy your government's stories about extremist threats and blah blah. I have been to China and it further strengthened my conviction about the reality of iron fist government silencing any alternative information sources. Your characterization of America is simply not right. I guess you're not aware of communist and socialist calls made day in and day out in American universities, think tanks, conferences and seminars, as well as in TV programs. You cannot dream anything near that kind freedom to express alternative governance ideas in China. So, first check the facts. About the Xinjiang issues. Certainly as a Chinese citizen you have no way of knowing what's really going on in those camps. In the west people at least search and do journalism to dig up information about the reality of situation. Since you have vpn and access to world wide internet, I would suggest you to search and educate yourself on Xinjiang issues. Let's go beyond nationalist views. I am not American nor living there. I understand your sentiments about your government, because they have achieved economic success pretty fast (not with communist economy, but with capitalist economy, otherwise you would all have equal wealth and everything would be owned by your government, which is not the case). I understand that sentiments and also the fact that China has now gained power in the world arena. So you guys are feeling proud, which is natural. Also this success makes you folks think that it's ok not to have an alternative say, not to have freedom of speech, it's ok to oppress minorities for the benefit of the majority. So you guys find it ok to keep silent, UNTIL... that until is important to note. The virus breakout in wuhan put millions into fearful state and now since their own lives (not lives of some government claimed "extremist" minorities) are in danger, these silent guys now start speaking up and criticizing the government for its slow actions regarding taking measures. In short, because it now hurts those han Chinese folks' lives, they start speaking out. So when you tell me something about the west, consider these first. Also, I remind you again, stay away from VPN, I worry about your safety.

To continue the thread on Xinjiang issues.. when there were first news about the education camps in the western media (which is wrong and engineered in your opinion) your government plain out denied their existence. After further push and more evidence based on the satellite images from the western media, your government had to acknowledge their existence (how do you feel about their lies, I wonder). Then finally they had to come up with a "show" (same old hypocritical way) that they're "happy" and dancing and learning new skills and so on. What skills will they teach to a professor ? I guess you also don't know professionals are equally put into those camps for "reeducation". I am not judging you or people at large. So, no need to defend such atrocities on your side. Just ask yourself, what would you feel if you were in those families instead of your current family and then you are pushed to such bs reeducation ? This is a basic morality and please ask yourself. Now, when I am talking about freedoms I am certainly not considering America to be the angelic state. At least these values are ideals that are aspired to in the western societies and they're also under attack by the developed technologies and huge corporations. So, you don't have to get into us versus them mentality here.

I like this man's ideas and would argue that his book should be read by everyone, but in his book he understands neoliberalism role in exploiting people, but then he claims liberalism is the reason for prosperity today and must also be what will get us through the 21st century. He doesn't spend a lot of time explaining why, but just expects you to take it as a fact. I'd like to see him challenge himself by debating people with alternative perspectives, like Richard Wolff

What hope is there when we have this: "The merger of infotech and biotech threatens the core modern values of liberty and equality. Any solution to the technological challenge has to involve global cooperation. But nationalism, religion and culture divide humankind into hostile camps and make it very difficult to coperate on a global level". Harari, '21 lessons for the 21st Century'.

I am afraid that this ( talks, reactions and in a certain degree actions that are being made) is all too slow as at the certain point there will be an exponential shift. We will not be ready. I mean we were not ready for nuclear power ( we still aren't) and we are not ready as well for today's technology. There's the power of our technology and then our culture. One is centuries ahead from the other. But I think that the shift, or revolution or singularity ( called as you want it) could be positive ( if we don't auto destruct). We could free ourselves from work and money and start to really be fraternal. The issue is: how to reach that point without so many people dying because of inequality and exploitation.
Prof. Yuval Noah Harari is a good man with not just a bright mind but, you can notice it, a good one. A good brain. We need more people like him.

Humans need a purpose or we self destruct. If we don't have jobs, what will we do to stay busy or occupy our time. The saying that idle hands are the devils playground is a saying for a reason. People with too much time on their hands tend to self destruct

all of these possibilities will not be used for good via 'global cooperation' in the absence of a global understanding of ethics or morality. Such morality has to be ontologically based .... and we are a very very very long way off a common ontology. It's not that there is a contradiction between nationalism and globalism, it's more that there are culturally determined worldviews, not all of which are the same as those held in Israel, or the US, or even China. The football world cup is spills over in the streets in very nasty ways (perhaps Prof Harari is safe in his hotel by then).

You will cooperate OR ELSE. Every nation that has decided to do the will of its people (populism) or refused to be ruled by an international elite (nationalism) has been ruthlessly crushed, or its leader assassinated. Every. Single. Time.
If the end of wars between countries was ever achieved, it would be replaced FOREVER by a war against world citizens. Anyone who criticizes the rulers will not be allowed to buy food, for example.
A world with war and without neverending dystopia is preferable.

    On being divided:
We might want to take a look at
    Mitchell Silver's new philosophy.
"Rationalist Pragmatism: A Framework on Moral Objectivism"
His book was published just last July 2020.
Silver's practical applications was on Urbanism.
But we might want to take a look at its possible implications on EDUCATION, psychology (personality psychology, cognitive psychology to A.I., and existential psychotherapy.
A specific, new philosophy for A.I. may arise here), sociology, economics, politics, and across all other fields.
    Especially for Filipinos.
