I like this man's ideas and would argue that his book should be read by everyone, but in his book he understands neoliberalism role in exploiting people, but then he claims liberalism is the reason for prosperity today and must also be what will get us through the 21st century. He doesn't spend a lot of time explaining why, but just expects you to take it as a fact. I'd like to see him challenge himself by debating people with alternative perspectives, like Richard Wolff

I am afraid that this ( talks, reactions and in a certain degree actions that are being made) is all too slow as at the certain point there will be an exponential shift. We will not be ready. I mean we were not ready for nuclear power ( we still aren't) and we are not ready as well for today's technology. There's the power of our technology and then our culture. One is centuries ahead from the other. But I think that the shift, or revolution or singularity ( called as you want it) could be positive ( if we don't auto destruct). We could free ourselves from work and money and start to really be fraternal. The issue is: how to reach that point without so many people dying because of inequality and exploitation.
Prof. Yuval Noah Harari is a good man with not just a bright mind but, you can notice it, a good one. A good brain. We need more people like him.
Humans need a purpose or we self destruct. If we don't have jobs, what will we do to stay busy or occupy our time. The saying that idle hands are the devils playground is a saying for a reason. People with too much time on their hands tend to self destruct

all of these possibilities will not be used for good via 'global cooperation' in the absence of a global understanding of ethics or morality. Such morality has to be ontologically based .... and we are a very very very long way off a common ontology. It's not that there is a contradiction between nationalism and globalism, it's more that there are culturally determined worldviews, not all of which are the same as those held in Israel, or the US, or even China. The football world cup is spills over in the streets in very nasty ways (perhaps Prof Harari is safe in his hotel by then).
You will cooperate OR ELSE. Every nation that has decided to do the will of its people (populism) or refused to be ruled by an international elite (nationalism) has been ruthlessly crushed, or its leader assassinated. Every. Single. Time.
If the end of wars between countries was ever achieved, it would be replaced FOREVER by a war against world citizens. Anyone who criticizes the rulers will not be allowed to buy food, for example.
A world with war and without neverending dystopia is preferable.
