How much would something like this cost for a guy who has no clue on how to do this but has the cash to pay for it? I have a 79 Areo Coupe Caprice. It was my grandfather's. The engine is starting to go. So it's time
That’s a complicated question. Time is money. So anything you could do to help the process would save you money. If the donor car is clean, rust free, and not all butchered up that would make the process much easier. Basic install basic LS engine basic transmission 80-160 hours. No special gauges just to get it running and driving. Minimal tuning.
@Blair Anthony the engine just leaks really. Tired if having it worked on. An my friend suggested a ls swap. I already have the body an interior done. Took half of my budget. I don't mind spending the other half on engine. Not really trying to make it a race car. Just wanting a lil more get up under the hood. So I was just wondering is all
@@Dr.Dre3000 If you are on a budget don't try to do anything custom. Just install the cheapest new 350 crate you can get hopefully with a warranty. Will bolt right in and you can enjoy it much sooner and won't have to fuck with it which you already hate doing and you will be doing that alot until your LS swap is fully sorted out. I think they make a good 290 hp long block for $3k.
Fixing leaks is simple. You just have to have someone that knows what they’re doing. If you want, just hit up JEGs and get a Turnkey 350 Crate Engine. Comes with everything you need to plug and play.
Here's an update. I bought a 383 stroker Westcoast edition turn key from Westcoast Engines. It'll be here this Friday. I'm super excited 😄 😊. Now I'm just looking for a reputable mechanic to drop it in. Which is the scary part so it may be another week or so till I find one I'm comfortable with
1985 is my favorite year because of the silver dash trim instead of the wood.

@@tripl3d10 Do you have silver and wood? Or just silver?

Manifolds the 40 Series Delta-Flows
Still waiting for your reply. You stated "15 K come and get it". This was on a different clip of the car.

What wiring harness did you use for your swap? I’m currently doing the same swap as we speak
eBay.
Nice chop. I’m thinking about the same cam. What kind of bracket did you use for the sc compressor?
from amazon. relocates it to the 1990 Caprice position, but for an ls. Than you buy 90 Caprice hoses.
