I totally agree when they built these cars even the 1978 to 1988 G-body i swear they where thinking ahead by drilling out the front crossmemebers for multiple engine type swaps they just seem way ahead of their time as far as bolt on and swapping out parts and ect...
I'm doing a 5.3 in my 85 caprice wagon, and the headers I bought run right into the shift linkage at the firewall 🤣 I like your progress though, new sub here
Thank you. Appreciate the comments. One of my video shows how I went around the shift linkage with those headers. I ended up switching up the manifold anyways.
When you said you moved the motor mounts back a few notches , can you explain to me what did you actually do to move those I got to do exactly the same method
If you're trying to use a newer frame on a 66 you're probably gonna have to do some fabrication. From 77-90 was all same for caprices, 91-96 I believe suspension was same as well, other than being 5x5 wheel bolt pattern rather than 5x4.75(77-90 police cars were 5x5 as well) . I'd just keep your frame but upgrade suspension, tubular control arms, energy suspension type bushings, etc.

What harness did use or do you stick to the og one?
Amazon harness. It’s ok. Original was from a van so it would have been a little harder to use. Hindsight is stick with the original.
