Ah- another artist who has learnt cool and warm blues the opposite way round to me! I've been thinking about colour theory a lot lately and maybe this is just me: I have an intuitive sense of what is cooler and what is warmer as I think we all do. I disagree with the notion that red the warmest colour. I find the warmest colour to be more like an orangey yellow. (As I think an orange yellow is both warmer than a true yellow and warmer than a true orange) so to me the coolest colour on the spectrum is it's opposite, a blue violet. And therefore a more reddish blue is cooler and a more greeny blue is warmer. I formed my own theory around colour this way but I had always been taught that reddish blues are cooler so I don't know whether my intuitive understanding is learnt and that this is all really just subjective. Its just so strange because so many artists are taught the opposite and it makes sense to them and I just can't relate lol
same, orange yellow is more of a nostalgia color that seems so much warmer to me than red. Blue is cool depending on what type it is, but blue violet I would refer to as the coolest too lol. Maybe blue with some dark brown tones would be cool too. I would say that it is subjective since color theory derives from how we personally perceive color, tho some of it is learnt.
you need a paper with a bit of tooth to it for the coloured pencils to work the best. the tooth is what helps with getting enough layers to have the pencil pigments look good together :)
@@TheWipal i think it all depends on the brand of pencil you are using and how heavy of a hand you have. softer pencils can work OK with smooth paper but a harder pencil tends to need paper with some tooth to it. if a person is using some kind of solvent to blend the pencils, a smooth surface can work better. comes down to technique and pencil preference and really just finding a paper that works for you :)
I wanted to say thank you for the quick shoutout about professional grade water colors. I think I have the same idea. If I buy professional ones my art will look nicer. I'm still new, I've only been painting for 6th months, but I keep hearing about professional watercolors, and how you need them. etc. I kinda wanna wait until I finish off my koi water colors before I move to anything else. Also I love posca pens. :) There are so nice. I got to show off some of mine to a friend who was getting into painting rocks. :)
I had the Koi watercolors before and honestly, those are one of the best affordable watercolors out there! I'd keep using those and upgrade to professional watercolors once you feel more comfortable~ :3
i just finished binging all your videos!, i loved them! I also bought the medium sized posca pens and the felt tips really did ruin most paper i tried to use them on but i still loved to use them, so maybe i'll give the extra fine tips a try!
I just did a "my favorite art supplies" video on my channel and this pops up in my recommendation, haha. I love all the supplies you have! Wish I had some of them, they look great!
Hi! I found your channel yesterday and I've been binge watching all your videos! First of all your illustrations are so beautiful, and the editing style is precious too! You deserve way more subscribers ❤️ Keep the good work!
Thank you for sharing your art supplies ^-^ Been following your IG for awhile now... But I only began watching your vlogs and now, this video. So, so in love with your art and your videos!! I hope to see more daily vlogs (': Heheh.
mum bought me a palette of WN cotman (bit smaller than yours) when I was starting with wc, but after getting DS & holbein I stopped using it. I felt bad after finding out WN is expensive, so I use it for practice painting and journaling
oooeeee this was fun! :D I was not sure which posca's to buy....but now I know :) I am curious about the materials you are using right now (2021) ? much love
Hi Tiffany! I also have an ipad pro 10.5. I wonder if you experience the same thing with me regarding its color setting. When I upload the artwork To instagram it seems like it’s not as vibrant as it was in procreate. How do you fix this issue? Also, do you adjust your colors in photoshop for some of your works before printing it out?
I'm trying to buy posca markers but the package is so different from those! I can't see those 8 colors in the online store. Extra-Fine tip 0.7mm but it's a set of 16 and costs 55€ (holyshit) but I can't see all the colors 😭 stupid online store not helping. I want those markers!
Same here!! I clicked the video initially cause I thought maybe Annabelle made a new channel, and your voice sounds so similar!! But now I have a new fave art UA-camr! 💖✨ glad I found your channel 💛
I think I set my stickers and originals to be able to ship to Germany, but the other things make shipping $10+. If you are willing to pay that much, DM me on insta and I can set something up for you~
Are you really an artist if you don't have a gross water cup lol My water cup is a plastic Insomnia Cookies cup I got early college (4 years ago) and it's so nasty

Thanks for the suggestion! I recently bought some paper and wanted to test it out ❤️
wild, some say no tooth, others say get all the tooth

@@fuzzydragons ohhhh!! thats some great insight into it, I've watched a few pencil videos but no one compared it like that! :D (*´▽`*)
@@TheWipal I think I've been very drawn to paper with lots of tooth just because I love texture~
I loved the way you organize your procreate folders! Mine is a complete mess, but now I feel inspired to organize it better 💛
Thanks! I usually organize it based off of the projects I work on :3
I like traditional art too 😄 but digital art can be fun too!
Yay! I'm glad we think alike :3

Wow your watercolor palette is so clean! I always have a million color shades mixed on mine which I always reuse. 🤪
I think I recently cleaned it out because it was getting muddy! I usually don't have it that clean hahaha x)
Hi, can I check where you put your iPad pen from? Is really cute
Thank you! I liked a lot.
I'm glad you like it 🥰
Where’s the Apple Pencil decal from?
Do you have a paper like screen protector on your iPad? If so which one?

I still use really cheap watercolors I think they’re by Prang
Honestly, anything works as long as you're comfortable with the medium!
I love prang it’s a good alternative
I think if you use a ceramic palette you might be able to get the ink off with nail varnish remover or acetone....
I think that would work too!
where did you get that cute yellow pouch from? (also love your art💖)
I got it in Taiwan! I'm not sure what the brand is because it's handmade ;-;
Where did you get your posca pens?
Amazon!

Really want the Posca pens lol saw em at paperchase tooo :((
You should try them! They are one of my favorite on the go markers.
What's the difference between hot and cold pressed paper i always wonder?
So hot press is usually smooth and cold press has texture !
@@apple.cheeks ohh thank you ❤️
