I genuinely don't understand how deli always makes her starter homes look so beautiful and bright and actually trending meanwhile maxis uses like 4 pieces of furniture and it always looks so depressing and drab
I think they also have a limit of the number of items they can use (I don't know why but I saw it on some of the videos where UA-camrs built for packs and they said they had a limit)
basically what others have said already, maxis builds are sparse because they need to be able to run smoothly on PCs that can only meet the minimum requirements to run the game (James Turner explained this in his builds for the werewolf pack)
Agreed! Everyone's different, and their personality, interests at the moment, what they looked at last, state of mind, culture, etc. All plays in on how they'll do it, and that's really interesting to see!
I totally agree, we need a LOT more basic wallpaper swatches that are contemporary! Also, great reno, it looks really nice and a lot more expensive than just a starter!
You're exactly right deli. The sims team should update at least some of their houses. They have the resources to hire real builders to make these house more practical and useful. It'll be a way to update the game without a big patch.
I actually prefer having EA builds because then I get to renovate them. When they’re already perfect it’s boring to me 🤷🏼♀️ but I can understand why some people would like an update. I just don’t want one lol
I think the old bed could actually add to the story line. The dad prioritizes his kids and works hard in order to provide for them even if that means sacrificing his own comfort. A beautiful build, as always, Deli! Thank you for sharing with us
Your Reno’s are absolutely amazing. This is not the first video i’ve watched, but the first one I have commented on. Love your use of color, and watching your imagination flow. Seeing how all the rooms flow and everything is usable at the end as well. Incredible!
I just renovated this and made it a very open, cozy little home for a young woman into books and herbs and everything. The little left room I opened up and put curtains to a cozy bedroom and the kitchen is in the back with a sittingspace build into shelves in the front. It worked out very well but I had to extend the left to the back for a bathroom. It's one of my favourite homes on the small side now and I think the lot is really nice in and of itself.
As a Scandi I would say it looks very modern Scandi so good job (the panels), because I have started to see new apartment buildings outside Stockholm looking wonderful like that, my aunt lives next door to houses like that and I love them, reminds me of the houses up in skiing places. Otherwise we mostly have coloured houses, but wood is correct (if you don't go down to Skåne, where bricks are more common, at least in Trelleborg, where my husband is from, and even Gotland and Öland doesn't use wood as much).
waking up on my day off and watching a new deli vid in my deli merch = best start to my day ever!!! been waiting for you to renovate this lot :) love from michigan, friend!
One thing I love about Deli and James is how they see the potential of every pack and they find ways to make everything useful! I love building with Batuu and I love seeing Deli and James build with it too, even if we all still make fun of it a bit 😂
I feel that you're the whole package when it comes to Sims UA-camrs: you can build, make stories, do CAS. Love every video you make and can't wait for a new let's play
i went to 8 years of architecture school and i am obsessed with your scandinavian minimalist contemporary modernism sort of vibe, my arch profs would love this
regarding grass roofs, they are much more common in wet and cool climates because in areas prone to wildfires they don't want kindling flying off of peoples roofs
It looks so pretty and inviting. The TVs are so expensive in this game but I love the one you chose since it functions as tv, stereo and bookshelf. You did a wonderful job!
I'm loving the shape and contrast of the exterior! The chevron wood tile and blue look so good together. I can't believe how well the tile matches the dream home decorator items!
What an upgrade from the sad beige. I think this was one of the first houses i played in when i first got Sims 4 and I think i just moved out because I could not figure out how to make it look good. lol
Woke up not feeling good today so staying home from work and seeing you had uploaded a video made me so happy 😊. Love when you do renovations of the older sim homes❤️
Love the look of it! And yes, it's very modern scandinavien! Will download it and keep the exterior, interior and 80% of the furnishing and try make it more exklusive but stil in budget. 😇😁
This is one of my favourite lots! It's got a fishing spot in the back, there's the tree across the road to the left (facing away from the house), and it's a pretty good size lot to build on!
These are my favourite types of builds! Would love to see a whole world renovation of all the maxis builds in Willow Creek. I particularly love the starter home builds though, showing you can have a nice starter home on a small budget.
Love this renovation! The warm tones work so well with the black and gray, and the pops of orange are a brilliant touch 👌🏼 I was so bothered by how you left the potty in the bedroom tho 😂
Love the idea of creating a house for a given family. It would be a great way to lead into generations. Building to suit their personality and varying budgets. I would be up for making a family for Deli to build for.
I also LOVE apartments, more than houses. You will put colors together that I never would have thought will look great, but it looks gorgeous. In South Africa where I am from we also have a lot of grass roofs and as you know we also have hot weather. I think the maintenance of grass roofs are extremely expensive.
I think somehow I have tapped into your brain! the day before the last video I rebuilt the same apartment with a lot of the same furniture and style and a same sex couple that had a yoga and meditation room. Last night I built on the empty block next to this. I used an old 1950's carpentry book that has how to build an entire house in it to build a lovely midcentury home that has the vibes of this beautiful build. I will definitely be building your home next door. Keep up the amazing work!
I'm really impressed by how she manages to make her starter homes look so bright, beautiful, and on-trend. In contrast, the starter homes from Maxis only use a few pieces of furniture, and the overall look is often dull and uninspiring. I am still struggling with my building.
I just found you and omg you’ve made me want to start building again. I love that you do small and cheap Reno’s but they still love amazing. Hello from a fellow Aussie too 😊
I used this starter home in one of my saves and renovated it IMMEDIATELY. it is roughhh. after that though, i kept renovating as the family got bigger and it became a really sweet memory :)
Hi Deli, I was wondering because you’re doing apartment renovations recently, what if you made a Barbie apartment for Malibu and Brooklyn!! Just an idea. 😊😊
scandinavian here, I wuold say the exterior of this house is exactly what the newly buildt houses look like over here (not all obviously). but they're very minimalistic and sleek, big windows and focuses on functionality etc. :) so u know what you'r talking about ;)
Deli, have you considered looking into “star carpet” / Nanarusha as a grass roof alternative? It is a great grass alternative in drought heavy areas as well as resistant to heat and cold. Also really loved this reno, such a lovely family home. ❤
In country the country i live in, many houses have grass. They are also concrete on the bottom and Wood at the top. In Denmark, which is part of Scandinavia, your House would def. fit inn😊
Love the house! The only thing i would do is to change the direction of the bathroom door. I got a class in high school where we learn how to do draw building plan and they always say to us to not have a bathroom door that open directly on a toilet! But otherwise, nice job Deli!!
Green roofing isn't entirely unheard of, but it's more expensive than a regular one so you won't see them a lot outside of high end bespoke designs. Otherwise, we use different kinds of greenery than you would in the UK. I've seen a few new apartment buildings lately that incorporate greenery on the outside and a roof garden, which seems to be a bit more common than a full green roof.
personally i would try and keep the same vibe as the original, the build looks absolutely STUNNING deli but i would try and keep the outside vibe the same.
I remember this being the very 1st house I played in, so much wasted space. Your redesign is way better. Glad they are letting you all design in the new packs coming out.
First time seeing one of your videos and definitely going to follow. I love how you made it look, my only problem is the bathroom door going into the kitchen. I would have probably switched the way the living room is so you can put the door next to the tv. That way it stops the smells mixing from the kitchen and bathroom 😅
I genuinely don't understand how deli always makes her starter homes look so beautiful and bright and actually trending meanwhile maxis uses like 4 pieces of furniture and it always looks so depressing and drab
I think Maxis' Mission is to PURPOSE the drab so our imaginations get jump-started...
pack restrictions man. base game builds are hard
I think they also have a limit of the number of items they can use (I don't know why but I saw it on some of the videos where UA-camrs built for packs and they said they had a limit)
They have a limit so the game can run nicely wherever you’re playing
basically what others have said already, maxis builds are sparse because they need to be able to run smoothly on PCs that can only meet the minimum requirements to run the game (James Turner explained this in his builds for the werewolf pack)
Love how EVERYONE renovates this exact home (including me) yet everyone's renos all look different and make the house come to life!
Agreed! Everyone's different, and their personality, interests at the moment, what they looked at last, state of mind, culture, etc. All plays in on how they'll do it, and that's really interesting to see!
I renovated that house into a vampire's vet clinic. It's worn down.
something about that green draws us in like moths
I totally agree, we need a LOT more basic wallpaper swatches that are contemporary! Also, great reno, it looks really nice and a lot more expensive than just a starter!
You're exactly right deli. The sims team should update at least some of their houses. They have the resources to hire real builders to make these house more practical and useful. It'll be a way to update the game without a big patch.
Trusting EA to do something their players want. smh
I actually prefer having EA builds because then I get to renovate them. When they’re already perfect it’s boring to me 🤷🏼♀️ but I can understand why some people would like an update. I just don’t want one lol
I feel like “some” of the exteriors are okay ish but the interiors are always hideous
@@LAURA--- true, I really like re- decorating the houses
@@DylanRomanov You can tell they were developing a game first rather than building a home. It has the basics but feels like a husk.
I think the old bed could actually add to the story line. The dad prioritizes his kids and works hard in order to provide for them even if that means sacrificing his own comfort.
A beautiful build, as always, Deli! Thank you for sharing with us

It looks great! I simply love how you do interiors!
Your renos are always getting me pumped up and inspired to do more buildings myself in the sims 4. They're just so simple yet so refreshing

You got this!
I definitely would've brought out the debug plants for the landscaping just to make the outside look pretty while still keeping the price down.
I love all the colors you’ve been using in your builds. The accent corner in the kids’ room was also brilliant. I may have to steal that idea

Obsessed with how consistently beautiful your renovations are but I was begging you through the screen to move the toddler potty to the bathroom HAHA
1:23 - 1:28 I love your little teddy bear in a racing car 🥰
Love seeing you transform these dingy starter homes into such pretty builds. So inspiring! 😍
Thank you!! 😊
I hate that almost all generic houses/mansions in the Sims 4 really looked like they just tried their minimum effort in creating the house.
Deli always seems to make the most simple things look amazing :) x
❤❤❤
aww such a pretty reno!!!💖 Deli I wanna see you go crazy with CC and all the packs and just have fun decorating an apartment!
