Doesn't this kinda make sense though? Our understanding of Archons at this time was as "servants of Celestia". If you suspect Celestia might be pulling funny business, it would follow that their loyal servants are either brainwashed, deceived, or lying. Of course, given that we're in 4.1 now, we have a lot more information and the context is different, but even at the time it makes a lot of sense not to just blindly trust what two two eldest archons (you could also phrase this as "the archons with the most direct ties to Celestia's influence") say to the Traveler.

Tbh, there might not need to be two separate gates, since the Spiral Abyss portal might very well be the one true gate of Heaven in this model. Note that Musk Reef was once the highest mountain not only in Monstadt, but ALL of Teyvat, only to be cut in half and and be flung into the seas by Venti(which seems suspicious in itself). In the cutscenes depicting this mountain, the peaks were nearly completely vertical, while the background sky started to change in colour. What if the portal was always there, even before Venti decided to yeet a hundred ton land mass into the deep seas?(which, btw, judging by how far Musk Reef is away from mainland, just imagine how tall the entire thing must be for it to STILL be peeking out of the water. Pine trees growing on it also suggest it was once a tall place)

As a native Hebrew speaker I must point to you the Difference between Teyvat (תיבת) and an ark or a box.
in hebrew, the straight translation to the word ark is תיבה (Teyva) and not תיבת(Teyvat).
If you use the word Teyvat, then a reference must come right after and it can't stand by itself.
for example, the Ark of Noah - Noah's ark - will be written as תיבת נוח (Teyvat Noah)
but just a random ark will be spelled תיבה (Teyva).
so if you do insist the connection to the hebrew word, then a second part of the world's name is missing - the refference of that ark. who it is belong to or what is its purpose, as תיבת (teyvat) cannot stand alone.
that's all I hope you find it helpful.

    • @Ashikai
      @Ashikai  2 роки тому +222

      Thanks for clarifying!
But wouldn't that just mean that Teyvat belongs to someone? A "noah"?
(Either way I actually want to liken Teyvat to the Ark of the Covenant instead which was a box/chest so I'm good with either meaning.)

    • @user-ml2gr4yl3k
      @user-ml2gr4yl3k 2 роки тому +224

@@Ashikai well it wouldn't necesserily make it belong to someone, as it could also just have another adjective - but there's for sure a following word that is missing.
like in תיבת הצעות (Teyvat hatsaot) which translate to suggestions box. but it's just an example and my main point was that it can't come alone in this form.
I tried to find a similiar case in English. so for example you'll know this sentence is incomplete: "You're a good - ".
it's just like someone stopped in the middle and you know something must come after "good", like a boy or dog or whatever.
I hope it was clear enogh...
and I'm glad I could help.

the section about the gate of heaven actually reminded me of the "teyvat is upside down" theory (which you did actually address in the end of your khaenri'ah section).
if teyvat is upside down, then "descending" the spiral staircase from teyvat's perspective would take you up through the gate of heaven and... into heaven?
you essentially outlined this in your video, but i don't think the idea of an upside-down tree and the gate of heaven were actually connected. i don't know, thought i'd connect some other theories people have made as well! the "teyvat is upside down" theory has existed for a long time, but i've never really found a way to connect it with all the lore of the irminsul tree until this video. exciting stuff!! i'm really excited to see how everything comes together, both in your part 4 and in the game itself.
and further evidence to the idea of the world being upside down while i'm here, which i didn't see mentioned in the video....
    - katheryne says "ad astra abyssosque" (to the stars and abyss), implying the two are linked (or opposite, but i mean...)
    - in albedo's character demo, when he dramatically ponders the truth of reality, he's floating in front of an upside-down view of the world (ua-cam.com/video/A3U51KyZLxE/v-deo.html). he also immediately says "the starry void" in the next sentence.... hmmm... stars in the void... stars in the abyss...
    - everything abyssal is AGGRESSIVELY space/star themed, between dainsleif, the eclipse dynasty, foul legacy childe's flowing cape...
    - the games descriptions all talk about how the calamity "turned the universe upside down", and with contemplations about how "vision" and "delusion" could be literal terms, why not "upside down"?

I personally love the upside-down-Teyvat theory, even if it's not gonna turn out canon :) It also implies that Celestia isn't high up in the heavens and is instead deeper down and could be some sort of hell, which could connect to a lot of fan theories about Celestia not being as great as it seems, and the panel that we see from Vanessa's ascending in the manga (these are my personal rambling not to be taken seriously!)

My theory about what Celestia is that I believe it's the eye of the deep, if Teyvat is actually really underground, that would make more sense because iirc, eye of the deep in Honkai is also underground (cmiiw). Celestia is the eye of the deep in Teyvat, and by going to it one will be able to go to the sea of quanta. As to why I came to this thinking is because the twins went to Celestia in order to leave Teyvat. I believe that in the universe the twins are in right now, Teyvat is the final world in that universe, so instead of going to the nxt world, the twins were trying to go to the next universe, that's why they went to Celestia to access the sea of quanta. However, according to the heavenly principles, only the chosen ones or those who is worthy to ascend to godhood can go to Celestia. The twins, when they went there, both of them weren't worthy of being a god yet so the Sustainer kicked them out and sealed their power to prevent them from trying the same thing. So, their actual goal in teyvat is to become worthy of ascending to godhood so they'll be able to enter Celestia. Lumine already travelled the whole of Teyvat before and was about to ascend to goodhood but then she witnessed what Celestia did to Khaenriah so she decided to lead the abyss instead.

    I have a question:
Why do all Genshin theories always seems to conclude that the world of Teyvat exist in two parallel world (Teyvat & Dark Sea/Khaenriah)? Wouldn't it make more sense if Teyvat is actually a spherical planet instead of parallel lines?
The reason why we are "ascending" instead of "descending" in the Spiral Abyss is because no one has ever gone to Khaenriah. The Spiral Abyss is recorded as "descending" because in Khaenriah's perspective, they're also ascending the floors of the Spiral Abyss to reach Teyvat.
The person who recorded the information about the Spiral Abyss could be the sole survivor of the Khaenriah's destruction. If this is true, it would make sense for them to write the history of the Spiral Abyss as "descending" since they are also climbing the stairs of the Abyss to reach Teyvat.

    • @Ashikai
      @Ashikai  2 роки тому +32

No, there have been many successful expeditions to Khaenri'ah. And the structure presented in this video IS spherical, it's just that I'm not proposing the idea that Teyvat is a planet, but that it is a biodome ON a planet (which is also spherical).
Part of the multiple world bit has to do with references in the game talking about "ruling over three worlds." Either way, Khaenri'ah and Teyvat aren't different worlds, they're just different countries. Different countries have different views of the sky, even on Earth.
As for the 'sole survivor' of Khaenri'ah... well, the entire Abyss Order is technically alive and they were all 'survivors' of Khaenri'ah. We already know Kaeya, his father, grandfather, Rhindottir (and presumably Pierro) are all Khaenri'ahn survivors, so I think there are many more than you'd think. ;)

i think this was a really good topic to pick up on! as the archons are having their gnosis taken, Celestia is tilting; meaning the pillars are getting weaker. once all or most of the gnosis are taken, will Celestia fall onto Teyvat and destroy the 'bubble'? that's considering if Celestia is outside the bubble or not.

The more I think about Teyvat, it's world structure and why was it viewable through the Imaginary tree? The more I thing that Teyvat (or the world/planet it's a part of) is floating in or close to the sea of quanta. The fact that it doesn't have any (at the moment) of the honkai related problems that the other universes that are connected with the Imaginary tree, suggests that's it's floating on the sea of quanta. Where the likelihood of the honkai invading are slim, but is in danger of dissolving into the sea of quanta.
I have this really wild theory that Celestia or the god/creator of Teyvat is protecting them from the honkai threat by separating itself form the Imaginary tree but is in constant battle with the effects of the sea of quanta. That's why they're making sure that no one can ever know the truth about Teyvat.

And i think its safe to say that based on his previous experiences of figuring the sky is fake and etc that even after he departed from us that he could have conented some more dots and come to more conclusions and question which would lead him to want to know more, to research and search for more clues and kbowledge which make me wonder what exactly is his goal now and if every interaction we have with him past the point of his first appearance could be him on his quest to uncover the secrets of genshin impacts world. So then that leads to the question of then what did he learn when he went to inazuma and what leae him to want to go there in the first place and what he did afterward. We entered through a gate she may not know exists or can’t see, mess around with natural events, then try to exit through the gate of heaven.
She cites the “Arrogation of Mankind” which means to seize without justification, or to claim on behalf of another.

I'd sooner expect these rock/fruit(?) to protrude like a growing plant and create the hollow mountains like we've seen if that were the case? Unless they're caught in the bubble and cyle through Khaenria'ah first before falling to Teyvat. In which case, could it be possible that if people actually do exist still within Khaenri'ah, that the Unreconciled Stars event was their first known attempt at communication with Teyvat since our MC traveler woke up and that Scaramouche was just the unwitting messenger?

My guess, if we’re going off this theory of the world tree and stuff, I believe that it’s a god granting visions to keep an eye on potential humans capable of going passed the boundaries of teyvat. After all they are called visions for a reason and if celestia is the god granting these visions then maybe that would explain the all-knowing sense and why the archons who want to cut ties with celestia are named after demons.

This is a really interesting theory!
It also makes me wonder even more about the unknown god, like why on earth did they let the Travelers stay rather then let them leave? Instead she just sealed away their powers and called it good. Ei proved that even gods have a moment of hindsight is 2020 (seriously she might as well have named her kid Arson and hoped for the best). But still letting beings that operate by different rules loose in your world that you have strict rules for is a pretty big oversight. The only thing I can think of is that maybe the god didn't foresee them being able to regain their powers or maybe they have a plan in mind for them, either leading towards a terrible punishment (like making them kill each other) or there's more to that god then meets the eye.
If Honkai lore had some connection to Genshin lore then maybe the threat Teyvat is being protected from is either the Honkai or The Sky People (mentioned in Alien Space chapters, you can find it on webtoon)
But looking at it scientifically and not connecting it to Honkai at all, if the whole world is indeed flooded then I would have to think the three moons are to blame. If our own moon suddenly split into two that would mess up our oceans and any nocturnal animals ability to hunt, so maybe a large meteor struck one of the moons and split it into three? Either that or global warming XD

      Ok
Btw about the whole Descending and ascending the spiral abyss I thought a bit and I do want to mention that the Spiral abyss on teyvat could just lead to an upside down tower in the abyss (a complete 180° from how the spiral abyss itself is) and so from when we are in Teyvat (pre entering the spiral abyss) we are descending, after all if what I said before is true then floor 12 (currently) would be the final floor- the lowest one and furthest one from Teyvat main land.
However once we are in the tower itself we are ascending, in proportion to the tower itself I mean.
*From here on out is my own theory and it's a long one.*
That could mean that Teyvat is considered as the top part and the abyss as the bottom part and just that the actual space is near the abyss, what I'm trying to say is that maybe Teyvat is in a dead bubble universe while the abyss is the part closer to the sea of quanta (the lower half) .
Imo they were always closer to the sea of quanta (besides Khanrieah's people) which Teyvat has to be a part of at some point (how would Otto see Dvalin without it being related to the sea of quanta?) just not as abyssal beings until Celestia did something to them or the collapse of the 3 moon goddesses caused their transformation, that would mean that the abyss has a closer connection with the "sea of quanta" (just in space itself) thus making them be able to see the real stars and the real moon while Teyvat is in a fake version of it.
I do also think that Teyvat is in a boat like shape and slowely dying and drowing in the sea of quanta, and it's reflected by the in game Celestia.
I like to think of Teyvat as coin, Teyvat is up while The abyss is upside down, the seven gnosis are each representing a Celestia pillar as well as a Teyvat pillar, each place also has a secret 8th pillar, and each place's pillars being to the side of each place
7 to keep Teyvat alive and floating and 7 to keep Celestia alive and flying
Each time when an archon lets go of their gnosis one pillar is being destroyed thus letting Teyvat drown more and more in the sea of quanta.
So far 2 archons gave up their gnosis (Venti's one was stolen, he didn't give it up really but rather gave up chasing it).

hi ashi! i was rewatching your world structure videos, and i wanted to bring up something interesting i think might be related.
so, dante's inferno is a poem about a man's walk through hell- it's the first part of the divine comedy. im sure you're at least a bit familiar with it. the reason i think it's relevant is that dante's journey consists of him traveling down the nine circles of hell, and those circles hold an awful lot of similarities to genshin’s different lands.
each circle of hell in the inferno is for a different kind of sinner.
the second circle is for those who were lustful- they’re blown about by an endless wind. like, i don’t know, the storm raging in mondstadt when we first arrive there, perhaps?
the third is for those who were gluttonous- they’re tortured by existing in icy, slushy mud amidst hailing rain. an endless rain, huh? reminds you of inazuma’s storms, does it not?
the fourth is for the greedy (specifically for wealth), whose residents have to push boulders up and down hills endlessly. money, rocks… i feel like you can see where i’m going with this.
additionally, the sixth circle is really eye-catching considering your speculation on dottore’s connection to heresy, because that’s the sin for that circle. they’re trapped in flaming tombs there, which at first may seem like it may be hinting to the pyro archon’s region, but when examining the fatui trailer, what do we see? dottore, the so-called heretic burning… a tree. a tree that, using context clues, is probably in sumeru.
there’s further evidence to back it up as well, i’m not just going off of elements here. for example, ei’s true name is beelzebul. sort of like beelzebub, a lord of hell (unrelated to the inferno lol). the thing is, beelzebub presides over the sin of- you guessed it- gluttony. it’s not like this sin is particularly unbefitting of ei either. she literally sits in the plane of euthymia all day and eats deserts.
and the second circle- equating it to mondstadt just on the account of the winds may seem like a stretch initially, but the theory does hold water. for example, minos (who isn’t actually a biblical figure and is just inserted into inferno from greek literature by the writer), judges souls in the second circle. in the original greek literature he was a tyrannical king- much like decarabian, who was a tyrannical ruler of mondstadt before venti came in to do his thing. speaking of venti, he eats apples a lot. which, incidentally, is the fruit commonly used to represent temptation, fitting within the sin of lust.
as for the first circle, it’s not for a sin, but for being unbaptized, something that a nation of people defying gods would probably fall under… like khanriah.
at the eight circle, the one dedicated to fraud, we have a section resembling an amphitheater, which in my opinion, mirrors celestia as we see it in the comic pretty well. not much to go off with this one though, so we‘ll skip it.
the ninth circle is for those who betrayed special love, and wouldn’t you believe it? it’s a river of frozen ice. kind of like snezhnaya, the region of ice with the matching ideal of love.
now, you say in this video that teyvat is on the underside of khanriah. this actually makes sense with the dante’s inferno theory as well as, at the end of inferno, dante reaches the devil. at this point, he’s gone through all of hell and gravity has completely flipped and made the first circle (khanriah) the furthest down from him.
this is a more loose connection, but dante is also guided by virgil, an unbaptized poet from the first circle who knows everything about each circle, which could make him paimon’s counterpart. do with that as you will, lol.
thanks for reading this if you did!
*tl;dr: genshin in its entirety parallels the way hell is structured in dante’s inferno.*
