The Mexican Sunflower is a Permaculture favored as it is used for chop and drop in places where the soil is not as rich with organic material. when growing you can cut back on all of the Mexican sunflowers (Tithonia diversifolia) new growth and spread it around the farm by laying it down in the same area or spread it around the other areas of the farm or garden to help enrich your soil.
I also make liquid fertilizer out of Mexican Sunflower. ( Tithonia diversifolia ) by removing the leaves and placing into a barrel and filling with water, letting it sit for a4-6 week stirring occasionally. after a few weeks it will turn into great liquid compost tea that you can fertilize all your plats with. (see my other video on how to) make compost tea.
