What happens when a Toddler is taken away? // The Sims 4 adoption

- Despite hours of playing the Sims 4, it has taken me this long to find out what happens when a toddler is taken away in the sims 4, and before you ask, yes, I did this for the babies too!
In the Sims 2 when a baby/toddler/child is taken away from their parents, you can as another family adopt them! However I was very disappointed to find out that in the sims 4, when a baby or toddler is taken away, they just disappear ☹
I actually really miss being able to adopt a toddler or child from a previous family and didn’t realize how much I missed it until I recorded this!

Fun little fact: if you have mcc installed in your game there is a setting you can enable that will allow neglected children to be adopted by other npc sims
Oh I'm going to have to try that, thanks!
How do I do that with the mcc?

What's mcc?
@@jihadijoe4419 It's by deaderpool if that helps

Anybody else's heart break a little at seeing poor little toddler Test behind that wall sleeping on the floor? Just me? :)
Me too, its so sad!
Same I love taking care of the kids on sims I’ve never had any children taken away I treat them like they are my real children
I don't feel bad for children
I was quite upset... ^^;;
no
you know, I thought you said Tess, and I was like "nice name" and then I realized you said Test.
I thought that I was the only one 😂😂
Major LOL!!!
One time in Sims 3 when My Sims brought the baby home in the little basket they give you. My Sim put the basket down by the elevator for whatever reason, and someone just took up the basket and walked away. Then the baby disappeared from our household.
Nooooo! That's horrible! Glad that doesn't happen here!
Kidnapped
Wait someone just decided "Nice baby. I'll take that now"? Sick 🤣
my sims toddlers just disappeared when I play another household, apparently the only adult in that household was dead
was this unmodded? lmao
I've never had a child taken away either! I love my babies, I'm a good Sims parent.
back when I was a very new player to sims 3 my sims got stuck in one action and my toddler got so neglected it got taken smh
Same until I wondered what the blank option on testing cheats true meant
When toddlers first came out in the sims 4 I had twins and I didn’t know how to take care of them and one of them got took. Also while one of my toddlers was at daycare there was a glitch and there needs wouldn’t refill so as soon as it got go it got taken away that one made me mad.
@@Taco609 Oh, that's annoying! I'd definitely have quit without saving.
The Sims 4 is so easy and takes a lot of the challenges away so getting your kids taken away is much harder just like getting your sim to die, etc. Only thing easy is fall in love and woohoo. All of this of course vanilla no mods.
I had a baby taken away while playing the Feng household. I kept getting the notification that the baby was gonna be taken but I could never find the baby! Then I went into build mode to renovate their home and found the baby in its bassinet in the household inventory 😭😂
As soon as I placed the baby in the apartment it faded away to adoption land.
This isn't related at all, but I just feel the need to say that I find it weird how hen you are moving a household with a baby you have to put it in your inventory xD
Actually that is so funny I’m sorry that happened to you though
😂😂😂 well damn
B a b y = O b j e c t
🤣🤣
I remember watching a girl who was trying to get a baby taken away, and when it happened the baby was automatically adopted by the neighbours. I guess they are not available for adoption because they are assigned to another family the very same moment they are taken away.
No, without mods, taken away children just cease to exist. They remain in the family tree, but they never age up or go to a new family and can't be summoned etc. Many popular simmers play with MCCC, the default setting there is for orphans and taken away children (and younger) to automatically get adopted by another household.
She probably had a mod. Like I think you can make the neighbors adopt them with mcc
Was is it Clare Siobhan?
Actually one of my child was adopted by some old sims and i just take him back and i don't have any mods like i just dont know how to have it so its possible to take a child back lmao
Clare Siobhan!
I never had a baby taken away…

I have ONCE have a child taken away, I basically just started playing, there was this glitch where when you picked up your toddler to put them in their highchair, the toddler would literally become attached to you, so that happened to me so I could physically not feed my toddler so it got taken away :(
THIS HAPPENED TO ME TOO, I AM SALTY
It keeps happening to me to or that my sims wouldn’t put the toddler to bed they would just pick them up them put them down again it’s so annoying and I litterly thought my toddler was gonna be taken away until I just excited and opened the game again and it luckily worked but it’s so annoying how glitchy the sims is they really to fix some shit
Reset sim. I used it constantly through those bugs
My way of dealing with unwanted children is the "move in" exploit. You basically just invite someone who you are good friends with to move into the household, but when the "transfer to household" screen pops up, instead of transferring the person you invited in, you dump all your unwanted children into their household. You're single again, and now your "friend" is stuck raising all your children. The good thing about this is the children remain in the game and never get taken away from a non-player household (at least that I've seen), so you can still drop by and check up on your children if you feel like it, even transfer one back by using the same "move in" trick in reverse. I had one particular baby making sim that dumped six children onto one random guy she knew from high school (who wasn't even the father of any of them). You would have thought after the second or third time he got invited to move in just to instead have a kid dumped into his household would have made him learn his lesson, but I guess not.
*concerned*
Works IRL too!
The first time I had an infant taken it was literally born and not even five sim minutes later it got taken. Then I had a toddler whose needs were completely full get taken when it was playing with its twin. Both times I was pretty upset at the game...
That sounds like a bug
my sim was at work and i couldn’t get the toddlers needs up so when my sim got home i fed both toddlers i had but as i was getting the food and putting the toddler in the high chair it got taken away. i was pretty angry lol
“Independent because she needs to be”LMMMMAAAAAAOOOOO
Hahahaha
I literally laughed out loud 😂 idk why that got me
Maybe that's why the toddler lasted so long before getting taken away?
the pancakes have no hearts. they weren't even sad when their children got taken!
Yes they were. Didn’t you see the sad moodlet. It’s just they had more of another mood so sad wasn’t their main. Bob for example was just more playful already, that’s how sims work
@@xxapplexx9790 r/woshhhhh
seeing her sleeping on the floor in her mess hurt my heart more than i thought it would :(
The part that got me was Bob laughing and having a playful moodlet in the background while his toddler was dirty, starving, and being taken away.
I’ve adopted my old child before, it just depends on the randomization, I believe-
I had a sims4 family with no cheats or mods who had twins taken and they just showed back up as a friend with one of the new kids
gosh that must've been extremely awkward
that happened to me in Sims 3 after forgetting to unpause and my old children were visibly disgusted 😭like their faces told me everything
That happened to my sister. The kid got taken away but was still in the parents relationships. So she just invited the toddler to their house. And used cheats to add him back to the family
the way I immediately thought 'finally some peace and quiet' at first part of the title 💀
Thanks for figuring this out! This was something I never thought about either but I’m glad I know now!
6:41 sounds like bob was happy the toddler got taken away 🤣
“What’s your name?” “Test 1”
“Oh...and your’s?” “Test 2”
“...your’s?” “Test 3”
“OMG DID YOUR PARENTS EVEN LIKE YOU?!?!?!” “Yeah, we where just made for a test” “Oh...cool I guess?”
LOL!
[Nervous Subject has entered the chat]
If the child is a toddler and they are listed in your sim's phone contacts you can get them back by inviting them over or traveling with them and using the cheat "click on sim - hit shift - choose add to family" and you have your toddler back! Unfortunately it doesn't work for babies. LOL I've spent RL days playing with the only goal being "find the baby"! Glad I'm not the only one that wonders about these things! Great topic for a video and well done!
Good evening Whiny I hope everything is ok. Thanks for sharing this with us. You never disappoint. Please take care and stay safe your fan Michelle 👏
Thanks Michelle, hope you are doing well!
With MCCC, I think children that get taken away/children left in a household alone can be adopted into NPC families if you put the settings right. That's what I do.
Afaik, the default setting is to have orphaned children get adopted by different household, I haven't played with MCCC for several months, though, might have changed.
What the MCc?
@@100madmic MC Command Centre - it's a mod.
Alternatively you could use the ResetSim command for Test, then shift-click to add to family. Or just invite Test over if in Bob or Eliza’s relationship panel. 🤷🏼♀️
kids actually can be adopted back. my sister got her kid taken away, and then she waited a few days, and they were finally up for adoption
Lmaoooo I love how as she was saying that todds won't get taken away, Test fucking got taken away XD
I vaguely remember having to cycle through adoptive children before reaching the children that were taken from a specific family back in TS2. I was adopting children frequently back then, and around the 10th adoption is when I saw familiar faces. I may just try this with townies for TS4, since all of their children look adopted anyway
In sims 2 if you have heaps of kids taken away thats when its hard but if you had one taken away lets say you accidentlly had beau taken away from brandi and no other family lost a child then the first kid to show up will be beau, but if you had beau and Lucy taken away then its a 50/50 who you'll get and the more the more harder it'll be.
I DONT KNOW WHO YOU ARE BUT OH MY GOD I LOVE YOU AND YOUR VOICE PLSSS-
Enable "adopt neglected child" in MCC. A NPC will adopt the child, then you can visit them and kidnap them back.
What does MCC stand for?

Well... I'm actually playing Sims while watching this video. And about 2 minutes after I started watching this video they took away the baby of the family I just started playing with...
I’ve only had one sim toddler taken away it broke the family tree, for me. It was upsetting- I couldn’t even see her when she was supposed to age up.
I didn't know that toddlers also could get the "enraged" emotion lol
so in conclusion, little baby test 1, 2, and 3, have went missing. may they rest in peace. another great video whiny!! 💕💕
My toddler (not adopted) got really mad then started glitching and disappeared
For I second I thought you were talking about a real child
@@ohwowsports162 hello fellow TOH fan :)

I actually had a sim family that had a kid taken away. Right after they were taken I had the sim go to the computer and adopt and there was the kid they had. I adopted her back, but the kid was maad, lol. It took her a little bit to warm up to her parents, lol
“Whisking the kids away to safety” is just the poor things dying from neglect, not even getting ghosts
Yes! Thank you! I had a baby taken away on purpose and I never found it again😩
I’ve had two children taken away and it was annoying. I wish the parents could get them back. My toddlers had plates of food in their hands and just disappeared!
Happened the same to me!! I keep suspecting that if it was because the toddler was half triton and what he had was a fish plate!! 😂😂😂
in sims 3 my sims children got taken away three times and later on i found them all on different families. i didnt have any mods that time or even cc and i remember frequently visiting the families just to see them
They took my toddler away even tho she wasn't being neglected, I always put my sims attention on her and if she needs anything I'd immediately give her attention and then suddenly they just took her away 😭 I want her back 😭
they become townies/NPCs in unidentified households. The two times my sims have had babies and a toddler taken away (because the adults just could not stop glitching out long enough to feed them), I found them in a separate household in the manage households menu after I noticed that the toddler would come by to visit (like a neighbor or friend) when he aged up to a child.
WHY DO PEOPLE NOT REALIZE YOU DONT HAVE TO BUY CRIBS
You can’t give birth at home without one
Beautiful British accent it sounds so beautiful like French, Italian and Swedish ♥I could hear you talk all the time, wish I could speak like that, so I could impress my friends and family. And I love that sound its very beautiful.
Greetings from Portugal
The two babies don't exist because they never existed. Babies are objects in the game from a technical point of view. Think of them as hamsters or small pets. The game doesn't recognize them as Sims until they age up to toddlers. So what happened when they were take away is that the game simply deleted the cribs and removed the portraits from the panel, so that pretty much gets rids of everything that babies are in this game. There's nothing but the object itself and the portrait/UI.
If the child was saved to your library, it might be possible to place them in a new household where another adult sim already had a relationship established with that child
I remember the first time I ever played Sims and I got the child taken away to military school on my cousin's family. I felt so bad. Earlier Sims games were much more challenging.
It’s a setting you need to turn on in MCCC allow taken kids to be adopted by other families lol
I’ve got multiple babies taken away from me before and the townies adopted them, it instantly takes them to another household in any world or not in world :)
I wonder if when they become adults if they’ll be able to be summoned then
I was watching a simmer do a toddler challenge. One of the tots was taken and somehow she had it back in the next episode. I wonder if she just didn't save so she could get the kid back? I wonder how that worked! Hmm.
My little girl got taken away and I went to adopt a toddler and I got one that looked the exact same with a new name…and she had some distinct features. Had to be her
This video started all good and cheerful 😊
And then all of a sudden 2:55 “don’t waste any time, just age up the baby and then fuck off” that’s a true princess right there😂
But jokes a part, i guess it’s just the “having a baby” experience in the sims, even if they are just test, still gettin on your nerves😂
I had so many babies taken in the sims one only because they gave you so little time to care for them. If you weren't standing right there the secind they cried, you were done;
"Someone has to do something about this-!"
Says with concern. *watches* *children* *suffer*
As soon as I read the sims 4 on the video title I already knew the answer was NOTHING lol
i have like 5-6 kids in each family(almost at the same time actually) and got none of them taken away, yes, i love my kids
Its so scary that the children are named test 1 and 2 and...
Easy way to have child taken away from you: With MCC cheats on, click on mailbox and change the season. That's what happened when I decided to change the season after establishing a household with a mother and a toddler. The game told me the child was taken away because of neglect.
if you have a little bit of a relationship with your kids wouldnt you be able to call them over once they are kids
Hello, the chidren do still exist, they are out of the world once they are adults they'll act as npc's
Since when is that supposed to be true? I haven't had a child taken away for ages, but I distinctly remember James Turner's quest to find Carol Alto (whose mother died while she was a toddler) and he went on to ask the Devs & simming community how to get the toddler back - there wasn't any method in game at the time and I never have seen anybody without mods bring/get back children that got taken by social services.. 🤔 I do have an old save where I had a sim with a "lost" child that remained in the family tree for generations and never aged up at all, let alone show up again.
I see why the babies wouldn’t since their basically items u can get them from debug
I never had a child taken away before. Almost all of my sims were great parents, some better than others. But I did lose a baby to a glitch one time and it was registered as the baby being taken away by a social worker. And it was RIGHT AFTER the birth! (╥﹏╥) I was upset obviously, but the little family I was playing as were absolutely devastated. The poor little girl who was excited to be a big sister and the mother were especially heartbroken and the father was just barely able to hold it together for his family. It was so sad and heartbreaking! 😭
i was sooo upset because my dog in sims never told me they were hungry, it just said thy needed affection, i gave them some cuddles and then i never got a notification saying my dog was going to be taken away, next thing i know my dog was taken away and i was never given any arming, i even checked the notification centre, there was nothing, but yet with other pets i get the notification
I've had children who's both parents died - i think they were old - and the children were automatically adopted into a random family that was already generated in an empty lot. though i never saw them in the adopt menu as i didnt check, i think it was MCCC that caused that though
Just proof that goes to show that even in the Sims, social services are TERRIBLE at there job(some of them).
The only reason I had a toddler taken alway is bc I left my computer to go make food then my toddler got taken away bc she got stuck in the stairs 🙂
Several times I've had various sims (including a toddler) get stuck inside the walls I have placed around the side and back of a staircase. I have to click on the build mode and delete a section of wall so that they will walk out. That is aggravating.
So you can't get your kid back? that's sad :/
Can someone please help
I have a toddler in my game but for some reason, none of my sims are taking care of her..not feeding her or cleaning her, and i don't want her to be taken away what should i do?
(Im also quite new to this game)
Hi! You probably have autonomy off. Check your settings :)
@@brookemcb Thanks so much! :))
@@aunvi1647 Of course! :)
@@brookemcb thank you
Your toddlers can take food by temselves. Just put a dish on a counter, play as your toddler, press on a food grab a plate and your toddler will grab a plate and eat
i once had a household with a single mom and a toddler and the mom died so the toddler got taken away, I created another household and literally adopted 10 kids hoping to see the toddler reappearing, but he never came back :(
Good to know the kid can go hungry for a minute before they get taken away.
You can find them later as a child/teenager in the word and than add to the family again
Using MCCC, you can set it so neglected children are adopted by other families in the game.
When my sims in the Sims 3 brought their babies home, things thing were normal. Until I put them in the crib. Their needs immediately dropped to 0% and they were taken away. Idk wtf happened, but I had spent hours trying to get those babies. I haven't played it since
Back when i first started playing the Sims4 i had 4 kids at the time and 2 of them were twins so one day i had the parents go out on a date and hired a babysitter well when they got back one of the twins got taken away😭
Hey instead of of having the child taken away. Switch the sim to a different household (
Resend its adoption) and have a SIM card for it for some time and then have the sim adopt her. It’ll be in the interaction as toddler care and labeled as care dependent. I mean it’s something 😂
I once used to cheats on a baby to see if I could shut them up a bit, and there was a blank spot. I accidentally neglected them.
Wait.. this is my first time on your channel, did you porpusly name the sims Bob and Eliza after Bob Morley and Eliza Taylor? From the 100? Or was that just a coincidence?
Those are the names already given to them when you start playing the game.
@@tonydavis8696 WHAT I DIDNT KNOW THAT
Thank you for sharing ! My sims infant is taken away 😔
That is weird that the children that are taken away are no longer in existence. I wonder if they are in the Gallery? Could you see if they were there as not in the world?
why does this make me feel sad?
But why is she so cute
If you don't buy a bassinet the game generates one saves you money
i never had a baby taken away, i'd cry if it did.
meanwhile im trying to see if toddlers can be killed
I just had a toddler taken away because I could never get the mom to do whatever it is I told her to do! She was always wanting to sleep and even after sleep and naps, when asked to feed to change diaper, she would just stand there. Ugh. Time to get a new mom for the kiddos. 😊
I try to take care of my child but my evil mother/father sim will not take care of the frickin kid
Children or teens appear in households I don't play... They are adopted I presume? Their (different) surname stays dough. Their family trees shows deceased people so they are left orphans not taken away though. If those babies stay in your family tree it would be interesting if they grow over time (portrait pic changes), which could mean they exists somewhere as npc?
Is anyone gonna say anything about the toilet paper in the baby’s bedroom lol
Hahaha
I neglected my toddler on purpose because I hate kids :')
Make a new test using MCC, I think on the population settings you can make them not dissappear someone else can adopt them
I change them over myself pretending they get adopted:/
There was one time I had my genius toddler taken away because my game glitched and the parents couldn’t get to her
RIP Mia 😭
I have never any of my sims go into a silly mood. I've had them go straight to hysterical and die without any other warning. But never silly. Odd?
In my setting I changed it where they can be adopted by other households
I just wish there were an option for the family when they are working that the family could stay at home instead of working, because of parenthood they need to stay at home, so the parents could educate their children and the toddler could play with their parents, and their parents would still receive money from being in parenthood. A mod about that would be awesome!
WAIT I SAW A WHOO-HOO W BABY OPTION WTF
