@@jbrodersenI love that shot as well. The eye is drawn to the stairs but you can’t look too long for fear of what could potentially be coming down the alley.
Matt, once again you have proven that photography is not about the gear, it is about the image created by the Photographer's vision. You presented a wonderful array of images that showcase your talent as a Photographer, irrespective of the camera and lens used to create those images. The first time I viewed the video I paid attention only to the images. It was only after my second or third viewing that I actually paid attention to the equipment used to record the image. I certainly applaud your selections, and I thoroughly enjoyed viewing each one. Many of your favorites are also my favorites, based on my recollections from your 2024 videos. I have far too many lenses, but each one serves a purpose, creates a specific effect or delivers a mood to fit my vision as a Photographer. While I own some of the latest high-end Nikkor Z Mount lenses, I don't hesitate to put a TTArtisans, 7Artisans, Sigma, or any of my 40 year old Nikkor F Mount lenses on my Nikon camera bodies. Thanks again for reminding us to follow our vision. Best wishes for a wonderful 2025.
Ray, you mean a lot to me, and you mean a lot to the community, if we can't support each other, what are we doing. Looking forward to a massive 2025 from both of us. :)
Many thanks for all the great reviews, talks, vlogs, and suggestions made in 2024. Wishing you all the best and a prosperous 2025. Looking forward to watching you still next year. Thanks and cheers. 🥂🥂🥂🍻 🎆🎆🤝🤝
@ All well, thank you. When you see this I image it will be 2025 so here’s hoping for a very good, productive year for you and yours. I plan to be out your way mid-March next year so perhaps we can find a way to meet up. Cheers!
Hi Matt, thanks for your fabulous work and experience/info sharing on your UA-cam channel. It's very much appreciated. Love your sample of your 2024 collection. Such rich colours... I notice the Z8 features prominently. Thanks Mate, from across the ditch. PS: My favourite? It's a tough question; but the image at 7:09 is a cracker... But the entire collection is fabulous.
hello Matt, Just like to sat a super set of images. Thank you for all your work thoughtout 2024, great Videos with lots of information. Here hoping that you have an amazing 2025. Thank you.
Great selection of images Matt. I’ve had a great 2024 photography wise too, just looking through trying to choose some favourites. The best thing that happened to my photography this year was getting the 135 Plena last April, by far the most incredible lens I’ve ever used. Once it’s on one of my cameras I have great difficulty bringing myself to take it off. People say a 135’s use is limited to portraits. I don’t do portraits but I’ve used it for just about everything else, for me it is for turning the ordinary into the extraordinary and creating ‘Plena art’ as I have coined the term. All my favourite locations are steadily getting ‘Plena’d’. Look forward to seeing what you have for us in 2025. I need to think about what I want to do photo wise next year. Until then, happy new year!
Love the pics, new subscriber, I will buy you a coffee in the new year. Your review of the 28-400 z lens made me pick it up two weeks ago as I am holidaying in Japan (I live in Melbourne) and saw it and thought that yen dollars don’t count. Love the lens on my Z50ii , crops to 600mm which is , as you say, “banana’s”. I will get a z6iii late next year for our next holiday and a thoughtfully buying lenses to support both cameras and my wife’s new love for photography. Your videos have inspired me to get out and have a crack. I’m still learning each day but I am absolutely loving it, it started with a z50 a few months ago and the Z50ii came out and I was sick of my wife taking my camera off of me so I bought a second. I have bought numerous lenses and see them as great investments for the next camera . Great reviews, great videos. Thanks for your content.
Happy New Year Matt. I loved the year in review. I hope I can trouble you for a couple of questions. I am planning on being in Melbourne sometime in February, will be staying in Southbank. I was wondering where a good fish and chips place might be. I can get around pretty good on public transportation. Also, at the 2:48 mark in the video, where is that? Looks interesting. Thanks!
Happy New Year to ýou Matt and a big THANK YOU for all your content here on YT. You make great content and your photography and video skills are amazing. I have followed you for some years now and in my eyes you have rasied you own bar a lot photographically in that period of time. Obviously the same goes to video which I believe you were just digging your feet into at the start of your YT channel. Hope I don't sound underwelmed in any way. I'm definately NOT. Stay safe and sound. Cheers!
The Wonderful Meaningful Content you bring to Us All is greatly appreciated! Keep the creative Thoughtful Substance flowing Matt!! Continued Blessings in 2025!!

Thanks Matt, Some really great Shots, I'm a bit biased I swear i could tell the difference between the z8 & Z9 images 😝 only because i have the Z9. I think next year you should do a video about owning various different Camera systems, i have bought more camera since i went mirrorless in the last 5 years and i'm sitting here wondering What was i thinking, and also i'm a bit like goldilocks , This ones too cold, this ones too hot, this one is just right but i'm keeping the rest anyway😖,
Nice collection! Very well done, happy new year! 🎉Looking forward to your posts in 2025! 😃 Have you recieved a copy of the Sirui 85mm 1.4 for review yet? Seems like a very interesting lens to me. I trust your reviews, hoping for a post from you regarding this lens 😇
Would you recommend the Nikon Z6 3 for the kind of Photography that you do? I have the z9 but looking for lighter camera. Thank you you're one of the best
Cheers Doug, thank you so much. Looking at this video, the camera I most used was the Z8. In 2024 I used the Z8 for images the most, and Z6III for video the most. Two fabulous cameras. The Z6III and Z8 are very similar, and really it is about if you need 24 MP or 45 MP :) Do you create large printed images?
Which was your favourite image from the 2024 collection?
the stairs and street taken with the 10 2,8
