A small addition: in the a7iv, slot 1 can also accept UHS-II SD card in addition to CF express. So the A7IV can be used with 2 SD cards or 1CF Express and 1 SD card at the same time
For the checkmarks tally Nikon Z6 III: 7.75 Canon R6 Mark II: 2.5 Sony a7 IV: -8732.5 A little low for the Sony but the Z6 III being about 3 times as good as the R6 Mark II seems right.

For Studio Shoot, The skin tone and sharpness of Nikor glass is amazing. So why i'm use canon ... ? cuz my need of photo and video, run and gun Canon more versitile ... maybe until Z6iii come out
@@percloroy Sony easily has the WORST image quality of the three. It's the reason why you'll never find a Sony in the hands of a professional studio photographer. Both Canon and Nikon image quality is far better- always has been.
I like the Nikon system for an enthusiast. Their 24-120 f4 and the s line of small f1.8 primes, are pretty hard to beat. Their high end stuff is top of the line also. Canon either has dinky cheap stuff or pro grade gear. Nothing in the middle with great optics.
Nikon lack of s-line 24 35 50 and 85 f1.4 lenses stopped me going Nikon. Yes they have lenses like the excellent 85 f1.2 but that thing is heavy at 1160g compared to both Sigmas excellent 85 f1.4 and Sony new 85 f1.4 both come in the 600-700 g range. Shooting all day with a 1.16KG lens is not my idea of fun. So for me up to 300mm Sony has the best glass but after 300mm I would give it to Nikon. Having said all that the Z8 is amazing value for money compared to Sonys A1 and A9III yes different cameras but they are all at the high end of the camera ranges.

Canon should always take a HUGE hit because of it's mount 3rd party prohibition. The consumer is GREATLY disadvantage from the start. It's no small thing.
Nikon Z mount has the largest diameter so you can adapt lenses from multiple other mounts, plus there other third party sellers from China. And then there’s the F mount Nikkor lenses. I think the Nikon cameras are pretty interesting, there’s a lot of potential. So far I am loving my Z6III that replaced my Z6II.

I want the z6III, I have a z6 and a z9. I love my z9 and I would love to upgrade my z6 for the z6III, seems like it would be the perfect second body for me.
Hi Jared, I have followed you FOR years. Well, I was ready to upgrade my camera in 2024. For years I been using a Canon 7D mark II. I Shot Sports, Grand Prix Races, concerts, landscapes, through the Alaska territory ICE and frozen conditions and Portraits. It’s still a BEAST! It still serving me well and probably for a backup camera too. For Christmas I pulled the trigger on the R6 mark II. Because of the Full Frame Sensor and the A.I. detection. I have a collection of EF “L” glass. So, with the R-EF adapter. Ken Rockwell reported it works fine. Keep up the good work Jared!👍📸📷
You are DEFINITELY one of my favorite camera body reviewers in the game. Always hitting on the important details that we really need to know. Gratzi muchozo! 💯 📸
I've bought R6MII two years ago in the very first day after release to replace my good-old 6D. Solid upgrade, very nice camera that fits all my EF glass without any problem (I'm also shooting film with EOS3 and don't buy RF glass). If you already have some Canon or Nikon - just buy a new body and stay with the system... they offers almost the same for almost the same money.
Nikon Z mount with the Fringer EF-Z adapter allows you to mount EF glass from Canon, Sigma, & Tamron onto a Z mount Nikon. Even though I have the Nikkor Z 100-400S for my Z8, I love being able to put my Canon EF 100-400L MkII lens on the Z8. It really is the best of both worlds! The longer Canon waits to let 3rd party lens makers design and build for the RF mount, the more people are going to start gravitating to Sony & Nikon.
I sold my Z6ii and upgraded to the Zf. The Expeed 7 is light years ahead of dual Expeed 6's. I donr shoot video so the only reason for me to pick the z6iii would be the ergonomics and battery grip.
Interesting. I just sold my z5 and can’t decide what to get next. Not happy with the dynamic range of the z6iii and not happy with the viewfinder and ergonomics of the zf
@@SUNNY91911 I think once you add the grip to a zf it will be as heavy as a Leica sl2-s which used, you can get at the same price as a z6iii. The Leica has the dynamic range, smooth tones and big evf I want. I have like 4 l mount lenses for my fp and tl2 so for me it may be cheaper to go Leica. The thing I will lose is the more modern ibis and manual focus assist stuff the zf and z6iii have.
Not trying to be a jerk, but why? Would you really switch brands for a very marginal (bordering on insignificant) performance gain on an entry level body?
As a R6ii, a7iii, and Z6 original owner, I am glad to see this review. I have been wanting to upgrade my Sony and Nikon so this helps. I may get a second R6ii as my next body or jump up to the R5, a7v, Z6iii, Z9, or Z8. I want the camera that will give me the best workflow and lens choices. I Love Tamron and Sigma Art series. I also Love Nikon glass as well. Less time is spent editing your photos when you get the shot right in the beginning.
I always learn something from the fro videos. I have the R6ii coming up on a year now. Have had mixed results, probably because I do not have it set up optimally. Mostly I am using the 100-500 RF zoom lens. I seem to have the most problem with anything in flight, even aircraft, getting the combination to lock in on sharp focus. I miss too many shots. I need a training class on this camera specifically. I came out of a 7Dii w/ 100-400 Canon zoom.
Sooo good. Nailed it again. I am not even in the market, but this video was sooooo informative. I am a Z6II shooter and I love it. I have no idea what would make me ever upgrade at this point. Great vid. Got me eyeing the Z6iii but not even tempted to buy - just looking at it and thinking about what KI can do with the Z6II that I have.
Great video, can't believe I watch it all even if I'm not going to buy one of those having the Z7ii already however is good to see how the Z6iii improved the Nikon line
18:52 at the same time, tbh I dont really see the point of shooting wide open at f/1.2 in daylight, I always consider it a great resource for low-light situation though
can you do a video about the pros and cons of 12 vs 14 bit? I have the r6mii and shoot in the electronic shutter 99% of the time. is there a significant difference? and does it automatically change from 12 bit to 14 bit when you change it to mechanical shutter? thanks
I don’t get the bit about how a new Canon will threaten the Z6 III. We’ve reached a point of maturity with all three systems that there’s not really a big jump to be made until there’s some huge technological breakthrough. Especially given what most people use this range of cameras for.
@@entphotoentphoto-pn5me Jared strongly prefers Canon, but there isn’t a big gap between any of the three brands anymore. We should stop acting like someone is going to come in and blow everyone else away. That’s over.
@@gourami7 Video. It has oversampled 4K/60 and the R5 II doesn't. But this is the issue with this view of cameras. To "beat" the next camera these days, they just increase the FPS by 10 and then people on UA-cam will go nuts.
@@gourami7 In reality they are essentially almost the same cameras. But! There's always but. But the fact that Z8 has better sensor read out speed is the advantage of nikon. This readout speed affects video footage as well (less rolling shutter).
@@stepheneckert4006 4 miliseconds is very good, a full frame mirrorless shutter takes 6 miliseconds from when the curtains start exposing the sensor to when they finish the traveling (not adding the obnoxious long time where they close, move down before exposure, and close again and open after exposure which is roughly 10-20 miliseconds)
Which allows for blackout free shooting with the z8. In my brief handling of both, the z8s AF is faster, surer, and stickier particularly with off-brand lenses.
I'm entrenched in Nikon, I'd be getting a Z6III to pair with my Z9 (shooting events on two 45mp cameras is ooh boy a nightmare). I'm also on Fuji X and G mount. If I still liked Sony I'd get an A7IV. It's getting to the point where the answer is "get the system that has the glass you want." All of these camera manufacturers are making capable cameras.
Fully agree. So I'm just waiting for the A7V - skipped the A7IV because it had too many things lacking that just irked me. With CaNikon coming out with great new cameras ( versions III ) Sony will be forced to really up the game and bring out rational improvements.
Been shooting Nikon for a long time, love their files, I still have a D850 and quite a bit of F mount glass, I also use a Z 7ll and for my work the autofocus is fine. I bought the Z 6lll on its release and I can safely say although less resolution than I normally been using last few years I am in no way disappointed with the Z 6lll. Autofocus is great and image quality is fantastic as I have always expected from Nikon
As someone who was seriously considering and thinking of buying the 7A4 before the end of the year, this clip has stirred up a lot of things in my mind and making me reconsidering big time 🤔🤨🤔... I actually came from Canon (APS-C) before switching to Sony for my 1st full frame camera mainly because Sony was getting lots of positive reviews and also a plus factor (still) being the fact there are way more lens options for the Sony mount, hence you have more options for every budget. Now I'd still not go to Nikon mainly because I don't like the fact you have so little lens options unless you stick with Nikon obviously, but I like to have the choice between native and 3rd party lenses. Jared briefly mentioned a prossible 7A5 which could come out, or not, there's no info at all about that I believe. Still I keep in mind, it was somewhat an unfair comparison though one can say, it was obvious from the start the Sony would be thrashed by the other 2. If you don't have any of these 3 brands or are new to full-frame I get the outcome of the tests, but in my case, I should not have watched the video 🤣 ...
@@endowpictures22 Well, I’m kinda due for an upgrade. My current camera is a Nikon D7100. The problem is I don’t do enough photography to justify buying a new camera
Im a nikon shooter thinking of switching to sony when they launch a7v. Even though i like nikon image quality. The lack 1.4 S line pro lenses is the big main reason. Hope sony dosent dissapoint with a7v skintones
Hybrid shooters need them as they are a good balance of quality, charecter, weight n price . Sony fortunately or unfortunately stuck n make good set of well balanced GM 1.4 lenses whchis good for hybrid shooters If not GM , sony has an amazing support from sigma n zeiss
I went from Nikon to Canon, because the AF of the z6 was langging. I still think I had most fun with the Nikon System. I think that is something that is also quite important besides lenses and everything else…
Bought the Nikon z6iii a couple of months ago, use it with some of my old Nikon lenses and the adapter. Very happy with the speed, pre capture and autofocus and I do a lot of sports under floodlights or low light.
Mechanical shutters haven't always topped out at 1/8000. Have you looked at the Nikon D1, D1h and Canon EOS 1d? All three were 1/16000th with mechanical shutter. They also had a 1/500 flash sync.
@froknowsphoto Yeah, that works. I had a similar issue with our course textbook for the intro course listing the incorrect top shutter speed and flash sync for mechanical focal plane (vertical travel) shutters.
I ordered my first A7iv right when it launched and got one of the first in Europe. Bought a second one in June last year to have to same bodies when shooting concert. Had awesome 2 1/2 years and about 100k shots on my first body, right at the 100k mark the shutter died. My other cam is at about 70k shots. I think the A7iv is a great value, when you can get a good deal or even buy it used from a hobbyist with like 5k shots on it and have a solid camera for the next 5-10 years but for professional work it shows it’s age. 60FPS crop sucks when shooting wide angle, the readout speed is atrocious and shooting e-shutter isn’t an option at all (maybe when shooting landscape on a tripod to avoid shutter shock). The burst speed was bad compared to the R6 mark 1 which released more than a year earlier and it’s frustrating. Broad daylight compressed raw at 10fps is okay but as soon as it’s getting dark and you wanna recover the shadows I always go to the 6-7ish fps in lossless compressed raw. Compared to the R6(ii) I prefer the 33mp. I can easily crop from horizontal to vertical in post (pls don’t kill me Jared) and still have 13.5mp (3000x4500px is my default export resolution for clients). And OMG I love full size HDMI. I cannot believe how many of these awful micro HDMI cables got bent in my life and the full size is just awesome. Shame on canon for having it only in the R5ii. Yet the failure of a shutter at such a low shutter count and Sonys insanely bad customer support (spotted a dead pixel after 1 1/2 years of use and Sony refused to repair it, violating EU law) I‘m really tempted to switch to the canon R5ii
Since you're a professional, you should only buy from Canon and Nikon. Sony cameras are of poor quality, designed to fail after a few years and offshored to Thailand. Meanwhile, Canon makes their pro bodies and lenses in Japan. Nikon also makes in Thailand, but their quality is far superior than Sony.
@@panzer3279 I think with enough bad luck I’d have had the same issue with Nikon or Canon. Saying Sony builds garbage is like saying that all BMWs are bad because they had a fault with one model

It has been quite a long since we have seen a Nikon get this much check marks from Jared. Being a Nikon shooter feels really happy to know that they have improved a lot. Hope they keep up with time.
Maybe it is an ingrained habit, but I use my Nikon top LED display a lot, especially when on a tripod. Mainly for Battery life, shutter speed and f-stop. Thank you for the reviews, very interesting.
Where does the Sony A9 II fit in compared to these cameras? Buying new, it’s obviously much more expensive, but for those of us who only buy used gear, it’s currently going for just a bit more than an A7 IV or an R6 II.
That camera came out right around when the world shut down from the pandemic (early 2020) so we never reviewed it along with most people. Also, everything was transitioning into the mirrorless world and it was odd for nikon to go backwards 2 years after the z6/z7 were launched. Same reason you wont find many D6 reviews online
@@stepheneckert4006 I have a pretty badly looked after d3200. I'm only starting, I went to a class last year, teacher really didn't teach me much. Right this time, perhaps not a good idea to choose any of these 3 cameras. Rumours had it that Q1 2025 we'll be expecting new Sony A7V and Canon R6iii, if buyers can just hold on for 3-4 months, then we'll be looking at 3 models of cameras of the same price range, that comes out to the market within 6 months time frame. That, will be very challenging and even more interesting to see which is the best. If it's alright to point out also that these camera will be more or less similar to one and another, perhaps buyers will then look into other factors such as 3rd party lenses, ease of warranty claims, after sales service, camera accessories etc etc. Q1 2025, more new cameras coming in. Good explaination and sharing from Jared. Oh yes, is this episode filmed your new Canon R5 Mark 2 ?
Canon, of course, created a pathway to continue using the older, but still great EF lenses. These are, essentially, their version of "3rd party lenses." So glad they did that. There's no way I could afford my excellent long-ish telephoto 2.8 were this not the case.
People love to talk and defend or promote what they spent their money on. In the end though on paper specs may seem significant but real world performance is extremely similar among these cameras. You can pretend Nikon has the best image quality of that Sony has terrible colors but if a decently skilled photographer took the same pictures with each and laid them out in front of even serious professionals few would accurately guess which camera captured what if the sample size were large enough to eliminate random guess success. Buy the glass and the features that appeal to you and don't worry about what anyone who is not buying your gear for you thinks about any of it.
I'm using r6mkii & a7iv. Can't really choose between them for photo. Sony has the customized buttons. But battery feels really small. For me I feel that the sony focus better in the night while using flash. Maybe the lens on canon is the problem.
After 2 decades of DSLR, I finally added a mirrorless to my bag earlier this year, the R6 Mk II. Couldn't be happier with it, and the pairing of that body with the 100-500 RF is really excellent. (I'd love to get the 200-800, if Canon would ever actually produce enough to make them readily available, but that's a rant for another post.)
They need to make it a stacked BSI sensor for sure. Full HDMI, and better video options. The fact that they have no All Intra is a head scratcher. I know I’m missing many more other things they can add or change for the price point, but those are what came to mind.
When I purchased last spring the Z6III was not yet available. I compared the a7IV and the R6II. For me either one would have gotten the job done. I did like the fact that the Sony has better 3rd party support but I ended up going with the Canon because the ergonomics felt much better to me. The camera's abilities far exceed mine so if I make bad photos it is my fault and not the camera's. I went with the 24-105 F4 L lens which is a good start for general use but I am about to start looking at some faster glass. Not sure I will go with L glass as I am a hobbyist and not making money with my gear but it would be nice to have some faster glass.

Jumped from Nikon D5600 to Nikon Z5 and it's like whole different world (in a good direction), so I can only imagine what Z6 III is capable for. I'm wondering why Nikon does not release a Zf specs into ergonomic body, Z5 II or similar
The Z6 III's dynamic range is ever so slightly worse than your 8 years old D5600 APS-C DSLR, according to PhotonsToPhotos' lab measurements. Let's assume it being roughly the same. Also the sensor resolution is the same. If these two image quality parameters matter for your type of photography, then the Z6 III doesn't have an advantage over an 8 years old APS-C camera.
When the r6 came out o decided to see what was on the horizon with the a7iv, as the a7iii was long in the tooth. But when it finally came I was disappointed at its speed capabilities, as I was looking for an all around camera to balance speed and quality. I held out and the r6ii came out which ticked the boxes, though I wish I could’ve afforded the r5, or now r5ii. But the r6ii has been amazing for me and I really like what the z6iii has to offer.
«quick question» What Fullformat camera would be a good way to go from my X-t5? I love the length i get with my xf70-300 but the FF Flu has gotten a hold of me, and im dreaming of a FF shooter, unfortunately there is no such thing as a camera rental buisness around here in Norway😢 so i just need to see what i can get of info from the gurus at teh interwebs
the nikon is fantastic. Used one alongside my Z8 a couple weeks ago for a gig. photo and video quality were top notch. However, it loses because Nikon hasn't allowed any of the Z cameras to record video, even capped, to dual card slots.
I got the R6mII a little over a year ago and it's the best camera body I've ever had. The RF lenses were the main reason for me to stick with Canon though I was absolutely open to switching to Sony or Nikon at the time. Only being interested in first party glass however, Sony's and Nikon's offerings don't get me excited. But that's only personal preference. I'm sure all modern cameras are very capable and most of the glass is as well. As long as you know what you're doing.
Mainly just bug fixes. Per canon’s website: “Firmware Version 1.5.0 incorporates the following enhancements and fixes: 1. Enables functions to be used without limitation in conjunction with the new Battery Pack LP-E6P. This makes it possible to shoot at the same continuous shooting speed as when using LP-E6NH. In-camera charging of LP-E6P is also supported. 2. Adds [Protect Images] and [Rating] during FTP Transfer. 3. Adds support for the "Peripheral Coordinated Control". Peripheral Coordinated Control is now always performed when a compatible lens is attached (there is no need to set it on the menu screen). * Peripheral Coordinated Control is a function that reduces changes in distortion around the periphery of the image caused by camera shake, which tends to occur with wide-angle lenses. 4. The following issues have been fixed. 4-1. Fixes an issue, in which when performing continuous shooting using the electronic shutter with both the [High-Frequency Anti-Flicker Shooting] and [OVF sim. view assist] options set to [On], Err 70 may occur. 4-2. Fixes an issue, in which when Wi-Fi is disconnected, Err 70 occurs. 4-3. Fixes an issue, in which when performing shooting in high-speed continuous shooting + mode with the [Highlight Tone Priority] option set to [ON], focus may not be achieved when certain ISO speed settings are used.”
I took advantage of the $1,999 deal and got an R6ii. I couldn't be happier. Great camera. Just curious how you think the Lumix S5ii would stack up against these 3. Similar specs similar money. L MOUNT ALLIANCE!
I think there is a space in Sony's line up for a third stacked sensor camera. One to compete in price with Nikon and canon. Will that be the A7V, only time will tell. At the very least I hope the A7V is partially stacked to make electronic shutter more usable. As for AF for wedding and event work the A7IV AF was amazing and never let me down.
Not sure if the market would appreciate, if now also Sony would start sacrificing - resolution, - noise and - dynamic range for less - sensor read-out time. I'm worried (when looking what happend to the Z6 III), that today new cameras are as if designed specifically to enjoy UA-cam mega influencers (who are very often sports or birding oriented), rather than to enjoy the 99% of non-speedy-action photographers. 99% do stills or just moderately slow people / events and animals. Only 1% do baseball bats or golf clubs in full swing, just to show off nuances in bending there 😉
@@tubularificationed I shoot around 60 weddings and 50 corporate events a year. In my 24 years working full time, silent shooting is up there as the biggest game changer improvements . I get shots with my A9 and A1 I would never get with a DSLR or a A7 series cameras. Clients LOVE the silent shooting indoors when a shutter click is most noticeable. Be that durning a wedding service or whilst photographing a keynote speaker on stage at a conference. The silent shooting on the A7IV is almost unusable, so at the very least they need to improve that, not just for stills but also for video. I think your 99-1% is also way off. Birding is huge, I can't walk around my local wildlife park without seeing at least 4-5 people out enjoying their hobby. I am lucky to own a camera like an A1 and A9 but Sony's only stacked options are 6K well out of the reach of most people. Nikon and Canon Both have way cheaper options for those who want to shoot fast or silent. Not sure why you mentioned resolution, Sony is more than capable of making a stacked 33mp sensor, the A1 is 50mp. I know it's not your thing, or mine but Sony do need a cheaper option for fast moving action.
@@pawelmod3292that would awesome.. Upon that if they can calibrate for better skintone processing. I wouldnt hesssitate to switch to sony. Being in Nikon though image quality is grt , lack of 1.4 pro lenses bugs me.
Well to be honest, they don't need to reinvent the wheel.. slap a faster sensor, remove the 4k@60 crop, add that AI chip that no one needs, but everybody wants, and they are good to go. I shot A7IV for two years as a wedding videographer and honestly I would've kept it, if it wasn't for that nasty crop at 4k60.
Did I miss it or wasn't there any mention about dynamic range? This is actually where the SONY outperforms the competitors by 1 stop, which is a lot. For me this figure is one of the most important, as every time you shoot outdoors on a sunny day You have to deal with pushing the highlights down and the shadows up. And missing 1 stop can mean burnt skies or more baked shadows. I own the A7 IV and wouldn't trade it for any of the two mentioned in the comparison. I shoot events, commercials, documentarie, etc. on it and I'm very happy with the results. Both stills and video are very detailed with great dynamic range. The S-log 3 gamma is great for grading and much better than what the competition offers in the other cameras. Colorists often suffer when they get Nikon footage for grading. I agree that the Sony A7 IV is not ment for sports - You can use it, but the competition will offer You better value there. But SONY has a different camera for this purpose = a9 III, which in the megapixel count and production date would be the best fit for this comparison.
My r6 mk2 broke within a year. Canon replaced mainbord. Allmost same period rf 24-105 autofocus issue, making strange noise. Replace autofocus. Used this combi barely, only one holiday and two shoots. Very bad experience. Keeping the r6 with my ef lenses. But switching to Sony due to this experience.😢
Amzing video as always. Poor Sony lost so many checkmarks😭😄 As a Canon cultist (not radical lol), I'd say if I were upgrading from a quite old Canon camera, I'd really take Nikon Z6 into consideration. The specs are so enticing.😯 31:21 Jared's right and wrong at the same time, you gotta learn to you viewfinder, it's more stabilizing, when you shoot, but speaking of getting you composition right it's not that important to my mind. When I started my journey as a photographer my first camera was Canon 600D aka Rebel T3i, it had a flip screen, which really helped me when shooting dancing crowds in clubs and weddings from above with my height of 5' 7". Altough I'm not a frequent smartphone shooter I would have used the screens on my 600D and 6D more often if they were at least half as fast as my R6. And I see no difference in composition. Looking more professional is, I guess, depends on people around you🤔
Because this isn't 2020. Nikon is a very capable mirrorless platform. I began Z mount by adapting F mount glass on a Z6II, you no longer have to adapt. The system minus some very niche optics is there and worth buying into.
I am currently weighing up these 3 cameras . It will be the Sony for me because of the availability of 3rd party glass . My dilemma now is whether to go for the A4 , a mint used OG a9 , or hang out for the A5.
If you shoot sports, don’t consider the A7iv. Subject detection and tracking in the EVF are great but many pictures are out of focus. The best hit rate is at 6 FPS and fixed spot AF, that is very limiting.
@@benoittissier58. Mainly wildlife and travel/landscape. If I can find the right one , I will probably go the a9. I currently shoot a 5diii and a7dii. Any of they guys will be a big improvement in terms of auto focus performance.

im sure the Nikon doesn't record video to both cards

A small addition: in the a7iv, slot 1 can also accept UHS-II SD card in addition to CF express. So the A7IV can be used with 2 SD cards or 1CF Express and 1 SD card at the same time

For the checkmarks tally
Nikon Z6 III: 7.75
Canon R6 Mark II: 2.5
Sony a7 IV: -8732.5
A little low for the Sony but the Z6 III being about 3 times as good as the R6 Mark II seems right.
Sony has better image quality. That's all, or almost all!
Did you say (-8732.5) for Sony? 😅😂🤣Killing me wit that one. 😂😅

1.2S are grt but heavy n expensive

Nikon Z mount has the largest diameter so you can adapt lenses from multiple other mounts, plus there other third party sellers from China. And then there’s the F mount Nikkor lenses.
I think the Nikon cameras are pretty interesting, there’s a lot of potential.

I love Canon AF system but Image quality of Nikon so good
Hi Jared, I have followed you FOR years.

@@panzer3279I bet you can't even tell the difference.
The way he claimed he doesn’t know what Nikon calls it’s premium lens line was hilarious.
Ken Rockwell, said EF lenses works fine with the R-EF adapter.
I have recently bought a r6 mark ii as an upgrade from the Rebel t7. And your videos were a great help in make it the right choice of camera❤

why you need raw video? if you are not a professional raw is just a waste of resource of your pc and memory card
I sold my Z6ii and upgraded to the Zf. The Expeed 7 is light years ahead of dual Expeed 6's. I donr shoot video so the only reason for me to pick the z6iii would be the ergonomics and battery grip.
How is zf performing for you? Do you think r6ii or z6iii much much better?
Interesting. I just sold my z5 and can’t decide what to get next. Not happy with the dynamic range of the z6iii and not happy with the viewfinder and ergonomics of the zf
@18yearsoldnot what is not good with the viewfinder? And how about using zf with extra grip? Actually I am planning to huy one. Or r6ii
@@SUNNY91911 I think once you add the grip to a zf it will be as heavy as a Leica sl2-s which used, you can get at the same price as a z6iii. I don’t get the bit about how a new Canon will threaten the Z6 III. We’ve reached a point of maturity with all three systems that there’s not really a big jump to be made until there’s some huge technological breakthrough. Especially given what most people use this range of cameras for.
Canon released R5 m2 to beat Nikon Z8, but it was unseccessful attempt.

Hi @Jared, Nikon Z8 (fully stacked sensor) is selling for $3496, does it have lower scan rate than Nikon Z6III under $4000?
Nikon’s official wording when z6 III came out, because MSRP of z8 is $4k, not including sale price. Z8 is much faster around 4ms
@@stepheneckert4006 thanks for the info
Technically yes, maybe they should switch it to under $3000
@@stepheneckert4006 4 miliseconds is very good, a full frame mirrorless shutter takes 6 miliseconds from when the curtains start exposing the sensor to when they finish the traveling (not adding the obnoxious long time where they close, move down before exposure, and close again and open after exposure which is roughly 10-20 miliseconds)
Which allows for blackout free shooting with the z8. In my brief handling of both, the z8s AF is faster, surer, and stickier particularly with off-brand lenses.
Why Lumix S5IIX not o the list ? It has on same price range

Bought the Nikon z6iii a couple of months ago, use it with some of my old Nikon lenses and the adapter. Very happy with the speed, pre capture and autofocus and I do a lot of sports under floodlights or low light.
I got the Z6iii. Mostly because I already had Nikon lenses and flashes, but R6ii was tempting because of the price.
Went with the Canon R6MII, love it. Often use C-RAW and avoid buffer issues.
Mechanical shutters haven't always topped out at 1/8000. Have you looked at the Nikon D1, D1h and Canon EOS 1d? All three were 1/16000th with mechanical shutter. They also had a 1/500 flash sync.
Absolutely correct
I’m referring to full frame cameras from the main digital era that top out at 1/8000 mechanical

Where does the Sony A9 II fit in compared to these cameras? Buying new, it’s obviously much more expensive, but for those of us who only buy used gear, it’s currently going for just a bit more than an A7 IV or an R6 II.

Hi Jared do you do a tutorial of Nikon D780? I can't find it I can find a story about it coming out.

Can you do a video on "compact" full frame cameras? Eg. Sony A7CII
R6 Mark III, the ball is now in your court
I do feel ZF is the most relavant camera for the most of the market. ZF in a regular body style as Z5ii is enough to capture a significant market
What rescored this video?
When the r6 came out o decided to see what was on the horizon with the a7iv, as the a7iii was long in the tooth. But when it finally came I was disappointed at its speed capabilities, as I was looking for an all around camera to balance speed and quality.
I held out and the r6ii came out which ticked the boxes, though I wish I could’ve afforded the r5, or now r5ii. But the r6ii has been amazing for me and I really like what the z6iii has to offer.

the nikon is fantastic.

What is whit Panasonic S5 II ?
Hello from Germany Berlin !!! 🎉
I’ll stick with my R8 and my EF 35mm
Low price best camara
Same but with rf 50mm
If these cameras do 60 fps video why can’t you pull 60 stills like you could with Canon MJPEG format?
You typically shoot video at a slower shutter speed for proper motion blur, much harder to stop any action and grab a decent freeze frame
If your camera caps at 1/8000 just get a variable filter and you can't shoot at f0.5 if you please
I took advantage of the $1,999 deal and got an R6ii. I couldn't be happier. Great camera. Just curious how you think the Lumix S5ii would stack up against these 3. Similar specs similar money. L MOUNT ALLIANCE!
2k for the R62 is a fantastic deal. It took the original R6 forever to get to that price...
I reckon LUMIX S5IIX is the best unless you shoot fast action or wildlife etc.
@@Democratiser That's the way I would have gone if I didn't already own Canon lenses.
Waiting for R6 mark 3...
Love the star of David around your neck!
What about fuji h2S?
I think there is a space in Sony's line up for a third stacked sensor camera. One to compete in price with Nikon and canon. Will that be the A7V, only time will tell. At the very least I hope the A7V is partially stacked to make electronic shutter more usable. As for AF for wedding and event work the A7IV AF was amazing and never let me down.
Not sure if the market would appreciate, if now also Sony would start sacrificing
- resolution,
- noise and
- dynamic range
for less
- sensor read-out time.
My guess is that a7v will be 33 stacked with almost no penalty on dr.
@@pawelmod3292that would awesome.. Upon that if they can calibrate for better skintone processing. I wouldnt hesssitate to switch to sony. Being in Nikon though image quality is grt , lack of 1.4 pro lenses bugs me.
Canon since my Ixus 400😂; now since November 2023 happy with R6MKII, thanks for your videos.
Waiting for A7 V in a few months. Hopefully Sony will give as a surprise like with a7 III …
Subscribed within 1sec for the Magen David alone
Did you maybe forget to mention something about the Sony card slot 1?
This video does not get a check mark!
Z6iii and S5ii, most bang for your dollar and you can get really affordable lenses for both!😊😊
Amzing video as always. Poor Sony lost so many checkmarks😭😄
As a Canon cultist (not radical lol), I'd say if I were upgrading from a quite old Canon camera, I'd really take Nikon Z6 into consideration. The specs are so enticing.😯
31:21 Jared's right and wrong at the same time, you gotta learn to you viewfinder, it's more stabilizing, when you shoot, but speaking of getting you composition right it's not that important to my mind.
Looking more professional is, I guess, depends on people around you🤔
This is actually incredibly positive towards the z63. You give nikon praise but only when it’s warranted as it should be
Because this isn't 2020.
