I have an 80 year old woman in Texas, who lives alone, and I love birds I would really love to have that but I love watching your show you’re very talented.
Poppy knew what she was doing, showing up at your place 🥰. She is soooooooo sweet and adorable, and fits right in with you guys, including Teddy 🥰🧡🥰🧡🥰🧡🥰 I just signed up for those bird feeder cameras! So cool! We have a lot of Hummingbirds here, and it would be so cool to watch them come to the feeder. We also feed finches, Mourning Doves, woodpeckers, and we even saw a hawk, I’m thinking, hoping to feed on a smaller bird 😬 Wow, those windowsills are beautiful!!!
She knew exactly what she was doing!😂 Couldn’t imagine being without her know. Hope you win the bird feeder! We love ours. I think we’re going to move it to a different spot to encourage more little birds as they’re the ones we like to see the most 😊
Really enjoyed seeing Poppy and Teddy more in this. They love you, and each other. Great to see. Congrats on the progress and things working out for the most part. Thanks.
Hi guys, fun video! That "mighty weed" of yours is actually mullein. It is a wonderful healing herb for lung ailments/coughs and such. You could dry the leaves and cut the flowers off the stalk and dry them. You'll have a lovely tea should you get a chest cold. Pour the tea thru a coffee filter, to catch the little hairs from the leaves so they won't irritate your throat, Best wishes from Karin, herbalist in Wyoming.
I never realized how much I missed the birds. I’m primarily bedridden and only go out maybe twice a year for appointments. I was an avid outdoorsman person and spent from sun rise to sun set outdoors. I was hit by a pickup truck while out walking in January 2016. My life has changed drastically and I miss the outside. I think getting to see little videos of the birds would be great.
Window sills look great…great job as usual. You guys always figure it out in the end. Pony? Sure why not! Always a treat to see lovely Teddy and sweet Poppy, and can I just say: over 85k subscribers 🥳🎉! Won’t be long and you’ll have 100k and a cool plaque thingy from UA-cam ❤.

Try try again!! It's going to look so good on the windows. Your humour always puts smiles on my face. Such a lovely couple you are. Oh... Victoria's dream of a pony on your property would be the icing on the cake. Don't worry. With your beautiful smiles, you will get your pony. Bottom of the list or not. It's impossible to deny that face. Right. 😊😍
The sills turned out really nice in the end. With the Jurassic weed could you make a cut and hole in a plant pot so that it can be slid around the base of the stem to protect it from the strimmer blade. See how high it gets before it falls over or Jack comes scrambling down followed by an angry giant.
When the alarm went off and you started to walk out to the little house with your lantern, I got Game Of Throne vibes! Thank god the White Walkers weren't out and about too!!!
Well done Ricky & Victoria! Don’t be so hard on yourselves about the first attempt at the sills. That’s how we learn, by our mistakes. Besides, I wouldn’t even call the first try a mistake, it was simply a trial run that didn’t meet your approval. Good on you for coming up with the perfect solution! The colour match of the concrete sills is absolutely perfect! Can’t wait to see them once you have them all installed! OMG Ricky, you really gave me a chuckle when you mentioned it’s a dirty job, and somebody’s gotta do it! You sounded just like Clint Eastwood in the movie Dirty Harry! 😂🤣 Have a great week you two & Teddy & Poppy. xx 🤣💕👩🏼🦽🐈🇨🇦
It takes courage and as you've shown us a good sense of humor to pull up stakes in the UK and take on your abandoned farm in Portugal. Good for you! Best of luck.

That tall weed might be a Mullein plant which is medicinal and the big leaves make wilderness toilet paper. I couldn’t see up close to be sure. The yellow flowers are a sign it is a Mullein plant too. The leaves have a soft fuzziness on them. Mullein is very good for the lungs! I love how the stone house is looking! Great job you two!!! 💖🌷 Maybe make a form to make a concrete chunk that when dry you pull out of the form and then point it in and set it up on the window, after a layer of point or concrete mud smoothed down. Make it a bit thick so not too runny. It will be like you made a homemade stone. Just an idea. I haven’t finished the video yet, not sure if you already came up with a solution! 😁 Oops! Finished the video and you did just that with the forms, even with color and a slight slant. The concrete window seal turned out beautiful! Awesome job! 😍
Thanks Lydia 😊 Someone else identified it as a mullein too & said it makes a great tea for when you have a cough. Going to dry out the leaves & store them for when we’re next ill

Another charmingly real restoration. And beautiful intimate pictures of the wee bugs on the flowers 💐. Love the colour of the cast stone sills as well. Thank you.
I know scrapping the first window sill plan is a bit painfull, but while you make that decision with your 30 year old brain, that feeling in your gut is hundreds of thousands of years of your ancestors succesfully sensing sh*t about to hit the fan, so you always have a very experienced advisor by your side.
FYI …. When you have a situation like air bubbles or a rough edge on concrete use water and the edge of a brick to smooth or fill in air bubbles it’s like sanding concrete
The first thing I thought was, that you need a couple of goats and at least half a dozen chickens. Get a manure pile started, let the goats eat the dried grape leaves (ON A LEASH or they’ll damage the vines), and the chickens will help keep down the bug population, which will otherwise decimate anything you plant. Geese help with that, too. But you’ll need to fence the garden and just let ONE hen and her family in at a time to get the bugs. Don’t leave them in too long. You should start an asparagus patch right away. And some dwarf fruit trees. And berries….
Good job that you made a slight slope because even though you've got the roof to shelter the rain, sometimes it comes in at an angle. Also, when you wash the window you won't have to worry about the water pooling up then. Cheer up Ricky, It's all really amazing what you two have done! When you're not up close, looking at the details, that building looks beautiful with the red brick on it. I love the roof line. It seems to have a little bit of a curve which gives it a nice touch of unique beauty. And great job with the gardening!
Hi guys , another great video A couple of tips ,1 when using you rip saw set your blade depth to just 3mm more than the wood your cutting ,it will cut a lot easier and leave a better edge 2 you should have put a little reinforcing in your castings I'm looking forward to seeing you getting them off the OSB (please let them harden for a week or more ) Good luck
We actually moved one already & it came off the osb with next to no effort. The oil seems to have done the trick. We did consider rebar but with it being such a thin slab opted against it. However this was decided when the plan was to pour in situ. On reflection, probably would have been prudent to add it once we changed plans but it just slipped our minds at the time. Hey ho. You live & you learn!

Perfect viewing for my Sunday afternoon! Love your comment reassuring your dog that it's ok shedding hair, nothing to get embarrassed about! And the dog looks as though he understood - which is a tad worrying! Most partners would have cursed and slung the pvc coated forms (so meticulously stapled into perfection!) into the yonder, but no, a smile and, get on with it! Lovely to watch you both, thank you for taking so much time and effort into the editing and uploading of these episodes!
Found you guys a couple of weeks ago. I had to go back and watch from the beginning :-). All caught up now and enjoying 'current' projects. One more happy viewer in the cheering squad wishing you all the good things.
Your commitment to the process is inspiring! And to smile, laugh, and love through the whole thing is magical. Sending love and hugs from me in New Mexico USA.
Well done both, good move to go to plan 2, rather than have that mortar running out of your first moulds. Looking forward to seeing them in situ now. Regards, Paul, Swansea 👍👍
You are both great to watch and making great progress. BTW ponies well all horses are herd animals so don’t like being on their own so you would have to have two. How about a pair of miniature donkeys?
@@LifebyLiving that makes sense, you'll want shelter and really good fencing for a pony, and it's always good to have somebody nearby that can take care of your animals when you want to leave. That's something that is limited my life quite a bit recently because I have a parrot.
Your sills look spot on Ricky! Lovely lovely job. It's was an excellent first attempt at forms to find a much better and efficient way! I had a pony. Planned my life around him. Bought 5 acres and lost him the first night we were all living together on the farm. Now I have changed my life 180 degrees, farm first, pony second (if ever again 💔) but I'm OK with the sharp turn my life took-taken a year and a bit to process though. 0Just chickens now but maybe other livestock in the future. Goats? Cow? Oinkers? Who knows, maybe just vegetables??
I follow 2 other Portugal homesteads working on stone houses. Your videos top theirs because of your sense of humor and your interaction with one another. There are many videos that you have done that make me giggle which for me is unusual to do with UA-cam videos. Keep up your great videos, your humor and showing your mistakes as well as achievements.
Having just found your channel today, I have been following along with excitement and awe. WOW! You two are amazing. How on earth do you know how to do all these things, like a roof, cement work, etc.??? You are so impressive. ❤❤❤
Watching you two work makes me tired ;) I worked plenty hard over the years as a single mom with two kids, a mini ranch with animals galore, and a court reporting career. But I've never had any building know-how, or even really attempted any building project. Give me a shovel, though, and I know what to do. I love your can-do attitudes. All the best to you both.
Hello you beautiful people, So just love watching for videos as they are funny, easy watching and interesting. What you both have achieved since renovating the tiny stone house is off the scales, but more to the point you both have no building experience, and are learning everything as you go along which is what we all love about you. Keep up your amazing work 😃🤟❤️👌
Thank you Sonya! ❤ it’s definitely tough at times tackling this with no experience but it makes us both so happy that people enjoy watching us giving it a go…making lots of mistakes! 😂
I love your show. Girl you are so well kept, never thought that you going to be so active on your land and helping your partner with the buildt. Love your hubby s humor. Andre from South Africa.
Considered it but it would have made it tricky to release the form work after the pour. Happy in the end that we changed plans as I don’t think they would have ended up as well finished had we poured in situ

Wish I could live there, are you guys looking into adopting? I am only a 40 year old child
😂 love this. I'm 64 and I'm sure (old) age comes before beauty, so get in line 😂😂😂😂 . Job well done guys xxxxxx
I am 73, and like to be the grandma. 😂
I will work for food and be your gardener. 🤭
Ha! I'll arm wrestle you for it! Lol!
Either that or we're going to have to rotate in and out for a season! I'll take Autumn.
And you have a twin sister..right?
Your commitment to the process is inspiring! And to smile, laugh, and love through the whole thing is magical. Sending love and hugs from me in New Mexico USA.
Well done both, good move to go to plan 2, rather than have that mortar running out of your first moulds. Looking forward to seeing them in situ now. Regards, Paul, Swansea 👍👍
A pony not even making it to the list 🤣🤣🤣 cute how Ricky still thinks he has anything to say about that list 🤣🤣🤣 love your vibe, thanks for sharing 🥰
Happy family ❤❤
You are both great to watch and making great progress. BTW ponies well all horses are herd animals so don’t like being on their own so you would have to have two. How about a pair of miniature donkeys?
A pony is a big responsibility but pony manure is great to grow roses. It is always a trade off you know.
🐴 good luck! But only if you have a local farrier.
No ponies in the pipeline! Maybe one day in the distant future once we have everything else we want on the farm
@@LifebyLiving that makes sense, you'll want shelter and really good fencing for a pony, and it's always good to have somebody nearby that can take care of your animals when you want to leave. That's something that is limited my life quite a bit recently because I have a parrot.
near Modesto, CA. The local ranchers were pleased when i hauled away buckets of horse droppings for my rose beds. It's true, the roses were helped.
Ricky your attention to details really is an inspiration! In everything you do you give it your all ❤️
Awesome job guys! They turned out great 😃
Having just found your channel today, I have been following along with excitement and awe.
I can’t believe how beautiful your cottage is looking. Never thought it could look so good!❤
I absolutely love these videos and they always find a way to crack me up! I hope this couple goes far! ❤
Job well done! So happy it worked out for you. They'll look wonderful in place, Thank you!
Yep, another great vlog
A couple of ideas for the future. I might add some fiberglass to help durability. Plus wire to help keep them from cracking. IMHO
Hello you beautiful people,
So just love watching for videos as they are funny, easy watching and interesting.
I used your link to order a bird feeder for our house in Nova Scotia.... I can't wait to set it up!!!
First time watching. The property is wonderful. Love the dogs, Rock walls, rock buildings ❤. You guys are amazing!
Teddy & Poppy 🥰🥰
I love your show. Girl you are so well kept, never thought that you going to be so active on your land and helping your partner with the buildt. Love your hubby s humor. Andre from South Africa.
Expanding foam should take care of the gaps on the windows form.
That was a lot of fun to watch. Hope it works when you put it in the windows🤞🤞🤞🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻👏👏👏
I didn’t know you could buy white cement! Would love to give this a try.
It’s cool isn’t it! It’s starting to get pretty bright as it dries
All the forms looking spoted on.
I’m fairly new to the channel. I’m really enjoying your renovation. ❤️ from Michigan
Should have used a little bit of spray foam inside the form
Considered it but it would have made it tricky to release the form work after the pour. Happy in the end that we changed plans as I don’t think they would have ended up as well finished had we poured in situ
Stone around the windows looks great, cool birdfeeder too!
Your creativity is amazing! Your videos are a wonderful. The pictures of the beauty around you and perfect music selections. The little house is looking beautiful. Thanks for the tip and the code for Birdfy. I have already placed an order.
🥳 enjoy your bird feeder!
I’m 70 and up for adoption too. Great job guys, best wishes from Australia x
Outstanding job on those sills.
Ooo this opening tune is just wonderful! Really good mood setter 💚 edit. Looked it up, Bonull. 🎉
